Abstract

The complex site conditions of Lingdingyang Bridge on Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link lead to many construction difficulties. The design of the support affects the construction quality of the super-height, large-weight and long-span beam on the cable tower. In order to achieve a high-standard construction and control the quality of the project, three support design schemes for the upper beam of the east cable tower of Lingdingyang Bridge were studied and compared by calculating and analyzing with the finite element software. Ultimately, the plan of the upper arch bracket stands out among the three schemes. The bracket scheme can not only meet the quality requirement of the main structure, but also reduce the construction difficulty and cost of the temporary structure, which can provide reference for the design of similar projects in the future.

Abstract

Photocatalysts with novel structure and superior hydrogen (H2) evolution activity are attractive to solve energy shortage and other environmental problems. As one of two-dimensional transition metal disulfides (2D TMDs), MoS2cocatalyst with a unique lamellar flower-like porous structure was fabricated herein to boost the photocatalytic H2evolution of CdS. The porous MoS2/CdS photocatalyst reached a H2evolution activity of 54.1 mmol h−1g−1, which is 36 times better than in case of pure CdS. Characterizations demonstrated that the promoted activity of the porous MoS2/CdS composite was strongly related to the distinctive cocatalyst structure. The coexistence of spherical porous and lamellar structures, as well as a heterojunction structure between MoS2and CdS played crucial roles. A slow photo effect helped to enhance the visible-light utilization. The heterojunction structure of CdS particles with lamellar MoS2accelerated the transfer of photo-induced electrons. This unique porous 2D TMD structure as a cocatalyst is expected to enhance activities for H2evolution of other photocatalysts as well.

Abstract

The concept of synthetic lethality has great potential for anticancer therapy as a new strategy to specifically kill cancer cells while sparing normal cells. To further understand the potential molecular interactions and gene characteristics involved in synthetic lethality, we performed a comprehensive analysis of predicted cancer-specific genetic interactions. Many genes were identified as cancer-associated genes that contributed to multiple biological processes and pathways, and the gene features were not random, indicating their potential roles in human carcinogenesis. Some relevant genes detected in multiple cancers were prone to be enriched in specific biological progresses and pathways, especially processes associated with DNA damage, chromosome-related functions and cancer pathways. These findings strongly implicated potential roles for these genes in cancer pathophysiology and functional relationships, as well as applications for future anticancer drug discovery. Further experimental validation indicated that the synthetic lethal interaction of APC and GFER may provide a potential anticancer strategy for patients with APC-mutant colon cancer. These results will contribute to further exploration of synthetic lethal interactions and broader application of the concept of synthetic lethality in anticancer therapeutics., (© 2022 Federation of European Biochemical Societies.)
