The paper addresses two basic components of succesful performance measurement and management, namely the identification of an appropriate set of performance measures and factors that created quality of the performance management system. Based on the literature review, the results of previous research studies and case study analysis, the importance of financial and non-financial measures for decision-making is identified. Furthermore, the current trends in financial performance measurement and the specific areas of performance measurement using non-financial indicators are examined. The essence of sucessful performance management is seen in identification of key factors that affecting the quality of the performance management system. Therefore, the attention is paid to this issue. Práce se zabývá dvěma základními komponenty úspěšného měření a řízení výkonnosti, zejména určení vhodného souboru měřítek výkonnosti a faktorů, které tvoří kvalitu systému řízení výkonnosti. Na základě přehledu literatury, výsledků předchozích výzkumů a analýzy případových studií je identifikován význam finančních a nefinančních měřítek pro rozhodování. Kromě toho, jsou také zkoumány současné trendy v oblasti měření finanční výkonnosti a ve specifické oblasti měření výkonnosti pomocí nefinančních ukazatelů. Podstatu úspěšného řízení výkonnosti lze spatřovat v identifikaci klíčových faktorů, které mají vliv na kvalitu systému řízení výkonnosti. Proto je pozornost věnována právě této problematice.

The systems approach in the field of enterprise performance has the irreplaceable role in a current turbulent environment. In response to the high degree of globalization, unified performance systems are still developing. The paper deals with one of the new trends influencing performance management system – cultural differences. The paper points to the need to take cultural differences into account in Czech enterprises, as current performance management systems appear to be inadequate in this regard. On the basis of a questionnaire survey, the aim of the paper is to identify and evaluate current attitudes to the issue of cultural differences in Czech enterprises including their importance within the performance management system and based on the findings, the model expressing a unified performance management system is designed. The model takes the cultural differences into account and is applicable for implementation in Czech enterprises.

Measuring and managing performance is an integral part of contemporary management systems, which are focused on achieving outstanding business results. This is based on a systematic, comprehensive review of a company’s activities and results with the goal of identifying weaknesses and opportunities for improvement. Therefore, it is put more emphasis on the development of an effective performance measurement and management system as a tool for enhancing business competitiveness. Given the importance and urgency of this issue the revolutionary developments in this area can be observed over the last 20 years. Researchers and managers are constantly trying to understand all the variables affecting the performance of the company. They are looking for an answer to the question of how best to use the lessons learned from performance measurement to its management. They design and develop various concepts, frameworks and methods for measuring and managing performance in the current business practice. They are constantly trying to eliminate the drawbacks of contemporary systems in order to increase their effectiveness. Cognition of these systems, their characteristics and identi fi cation of weaknesses can be seen as challenges for performance measurement and management in the future, for which solutions must be found. Therefore, the primary goal of this paper is to investigate the level of development of current performance management systems in Czech companies. The level of development is determined by ful fi lment of the characteristics of an effective performance management system based on literature review. Attention is also paid to determination whether the level of a performance management system’s development is dependent on company size. The method of an electronic questionnaire was selected for acquiring data.

This paper presents a view on issues of strategic performance management in the Czech business environment with focus on the customer by means of comparing results and partial conclusions from research carried out in selected companies. The results of the analysis are evaluated in the context of the theoretical background and the findings of similar studies. Based on these findings, a set of recommendations will be provided for Czech companies dealing with strategic performance management oriented towards the customer. The paper was prepared based on research of Czech and foreign literature, interviews with management and analyses of internal materials from selected companies. Příspěvek přináší pohled na problematiku strategického řízení výkonnosti v českém podnikatelském prostředí se zaměřením na zákazníka prostřednictvím komparace výsledků a dílčích závěrů z provedeného šetření ve vybraných podnicích. Výsledky provedené analýzy jsou zhodnoceny v kontextu teoretických východisek a závěrů obdobných studií. Na základě těchto zjištění je stanoven soubor doporučení pro české podniky týkající se strategického řízení podnikové výkonnosti orientované na zákazníka. Příspěvek byl zpracován na základě rešerše české i zahraniční literatury, polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s managementem a analýzy interních materiálů vybraných podniků.

Kinex antibody microarray analyses was used to investigate the regulation of 188 protein kinases, 24 protein phosphatases, and 170 other regulatory proteins during meiotic maturation of immature germinal vesicle (GV+) pig oocytes to maturing oocytes that had completed meiosis I (MI), and fully mature oocytes arrested at metaphase of meiosis II (MII). Increases in apparent protein levels of protein kinases accounted for most of the detected changes during the GV to MI transition, whereas reduced protein kinase levels and increased protein phosphorylation characterized the MI to MII transition. During the MI to MII period, many of the MI-associated increased levels of the proteins and phosphosites were completely or partially reversed. The regulation of these proteins were also examined in parallel during the meiotic maturation of bovine, frog, and sea star oocytes with the Kinex antibody microarray. Western blotting analyses confirmed altered expression levels of Bub1A, IRAK4, MST2, PP4C, and Rsk2, and the phosphorylation site changes in the kinases Erk5 (T218 + Y220), FAK (S722), GSK3-beta (Y216), MEK1 (S217 + S221) and PKR1 (T451), and nucleophosmin/B23 (S4) during pig oocyte maturation.
