Thermochemical H2O/CO2 splitting is considered one of the most appropriate solution technologies for the sustainable and environmentally friendly production of H2 and CO. The two steps process is the most promising technology: in the former the solar-driven endothermic reduction of metal oxides occurs, that in latter exothermic step are re-oxidated by water or carbon dioxide giving syngas and re-generating the catalyst. The "ideal" metal oxide should be able to optimise both steps allowing to occur at the lowest temperature the oxidation and the reduction. The ceria-zirconia systems (CeO2-ZrO2) seem to outperform the materials developed to date, even if the working temperatures are still too high. In this work, CeO2-ZrO2 based materials containing suitable dopants were prepared using hydrothermal and co-precipitation techniques in order to lower the oxidation/reduction temperatures. The developed materials were characterised (BET; XRD...) and their activity was tested by TG analysis and in a lab-scale reactor. The results show that a ceria zirconia sample prepared by hydrothermal method shows the best redox properties. Furthermore, the doping allows to lower the working temperatures

Il telerilevamento ottico è uno strumento validato per il rilevamento, il monitoraggio e lo sviluppo di una migliore comprensione dello stato dei laghi. Tuttavia, non può essere utilizzato in caso di copertura nuvolosa rendendo così difficile la caratterizzazione spaziale e temporale delle fioriture algali per un'analisi ecologica completa. Proponiamo quindi un approccio sinergico che coinvolge immagini ottiche e immagini SAR per monitorare la proliferazione di cianobatteri algali nella Laguna dei Curi (Lituania-Russia). Le immagini satellitari sono fornite dai satelliti Sentinel-1,-2 e -3.

The aim of this work is to evaluate Sentinel-3 OLCI in lake waters to map chlorophyll-a concentrations (Chl-a) and to provide spatial and temporal information on phytoplankton dynamics to support the EU Water Framework Directive (EC/2000/60). OLCI is confirmed to be the prime satellite radiometer for observing water quality in lakes. It provides accurate, timely and frequent information to support EU directives. This study is supporting the contents of a White Paper on 'Satellite-based Earth observation water quality monitoring, reporting and management for the Water Framework Directive' (to be published by the end of May).

Poster at LPS 2019, Milan Aims This study presents the application of integration of satellite remote sensing and in situ monitoring from optical sensors for assessing phytoplankton dynamics in Lake Trasimeno (Italy). The products are exploited to provide spatial and temporal information of chlorophyll-a concentrations (Chl-a) for both supporting the Water Framework Directive (EC/2000/60), and for evaluating seasonal trends and their possible relations with climate change.

Mucopolysaccharidoses (MPS) represent a group of rare lysosomal storage disorders, with a heterogeneous clinical presentation in terms of inheritance (autosomal and X-linked recessive), age of onset (infants, children, and adults), systemic and cardiac manifestations (mild to severe disease forms). Evidence-based recommendations on the diagnosis and management of cardiovascular disease in MPS are scarce. GICEM (Gruppo Italiano Cardiologi Esperti Malattie Metaboliche) is a group of cardiologists, cardiac surgeons and pediatricians with a specific expertise in metabolic diseases including MPS. In this paper, we report our experience and recommendations on the diagnosis and management of cardiovascular aspects in MPS, with a tailored approach based on current evidence, and taking into account MPS phenotype (particularly, I, II, IVa, VI), age at presentation, and severity of systemic and cardiac manifestations.
