This study focuses on determining the effectiveness of Toba Boat Race Game on vocabulary learning at the junior high school level. The Toba Boat Race game aims to provide challenging and fun language learning as a blend of learning and playing. The Toba Boat Race Game that is presented contains local wisdom content where the vocabulary learned provides an understanding of social, cultural, artistic, historical and regional noble values and provides English learning through vocabulary mastery which is expected to be captured concretely because the context is relevant to students' daily lives day. The game users complete various kinds of challenges according to the levels that must be passed in the form of word puzzles, snakes and ladders, word matching, word completion and others. Testing the effectiveness of educational games is carried out using quasi-experimental design. The test results of the respondents on the effectiveness of using the Toba Boat Race game increases to 44.5 in mean achievement in English vocabulary mastery. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Every enterprise certainly needs a brand identity to become more familiar and make it easier for potential customers to identify a product, and the MSMEs Shoes SR Collection is no exception. The weaknesses of SR Collection that were found are: they did not have strong brand recognition, the shoebox design was too plain, and the promotion strategy was applied only from person to person, which is not very effective for gaining customers. Customers also identify the SR Collection shoe name with various names. Referring to this phenomenon, it can be concluded that the familiarity of SR Collection shoes is still low. Therefore, it is necessary to design a Brand Identity that can be confirmed by the SR Collection image. The promotion strategy in generating brand placement is applied to highlight and define the SR Collection brand among other competitors. The research method applied in this study is descriptive qualitative. Data were collected through interviews and observations and presented using visual design through concept maps and design boards (mood-boards). The design results that are conceptualized can highlight a new brand identity with the logo and image of SR Collection in the eyes of customers supported by designs such as logos, slogans, business cards, paper bags, packaging boxes, as well as promotional media that can be distinctive and highlight the image SR Collection Shoes. The existence of learning media on various platforms provides variety and assistance for teachers in delivering learning materials. Not much has been developed in educational media compared to entertainment media such as gaming, films, songs, dance, and music. Educational media need to be packaged in a simple, effective, and efficient manner and respond to the needs of today's students. In the context of the world of learning English at the junior high school level, learning media is needed as an effort to provide real experience in terms of honing English communication skills. Augmented Reality is one of the media that is able to bridge the needs of students, namely making abstract learning experiences feel concrete. Therefore, this research aims to design learning media for junior high school English on the basis of Augmented Reality with content containing stories from North Sumatra. The research method applied in this study is Research & Development. Data acquisition techniques used were documentation, questionnaires, interviews, and tests which were applied in accordance with nine research stages, namely: (1) identification and analysis of media needs; (2) collection of media materials and tools; (3) development of media prototype designs; (4) implementation media prototype; (5) media prototype validation; (6) media prototype revision; (7) media trial on junior high school students; (8) final revision; and (9) media prototype that has been tested. The final result of this study contains AR in the form of flash cards. AR markers are printed on cards and students only focus their smartphone cameras on markers that have been printed in card form. After the camera has successfully scanned the marker, a learning video will appear. There are five cards (markers) in this study, and each card will play a different learning video. The Typography Book is a learning medium that studies letters. Typography books still have very little variety and it is difficult to get them. This book is needed for students majoring in Graphic Design in the Introduction to Typography course. This book uses more pictures and tutorials to make it easier for students to understand. This research aims to design an illustrated typography book to make it easier for students to study and understand the Introduction to Typography course. The material in this book is about letter families, letter anatomy, letter types, and others. This research uses a qualitative method, with a descriptive observation research model through literature study to understand the process of designing a typography book. The stages carried out are conducting research, collecting data, collecting literature related to research, designing the contents of the book, and designing images and tutorials, which will be adapted to the Introduction to Typography course. The results of this research are a book measuring 15.5 × 20 cm, 190 pages, and 20 chapters. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
