Achieving high-fidelity two-qubit gates is crucial for spin qubits in silicon double quantum dots. However, the two-qubit gates in experiments are easily suffered from charge noise, which is still a key challenge. Geometric gates which implement gate operations employing pure geometric phase are believed to be a powerful way to realize robust control. In this work, we theoretically propose feasible strategy to implement geometric two-qubit gates for silicon-based spin qubits considering experimental control environments. By working in the suitable region where the local magnetic field gradient is much larger than the exchange interaction, we are able to implement entangling and non-entangling geometric gates via analytical and numerical methods. It is found that the implemented geometric gates can obtain fidelities surpassing 99\% for the noise level related to the experiments. Also, they can outperform the dynamical opertations. In this paper, we consider the homogenization of stationary and evolutionary incompressible viscous non-Newtonian flows of Carreau-Yasuda type in domains perforated with a large number of periodically distributed small holes in $\mathbb{R}^{3}$, where the mutual distance between the holes is measured by a small parameter $\varepsilon>0$ and the size of the holes is $\varepsilon^{\alpha}$ with $\alpha \in (1, \frac 32)$. The Darcy's law is recovered in the limit, thus generalizing the results from [\url{https://doi.org/10.1016/0362-546X(94)00285-P}] and [\url{https://doi.org/10.48550/arXiv.2310.05121}] for $\alpha=1$. Instead of using their restriction operator to derive the estimates of the pressure extension by duality, we use the Bogovski\u{\i} type operator in perforated domains (constructed in [\url{https://doi.org/10.1051/cocv/2016016}]) to deduce the uniform estimates of the pressure directly. Moreover, quantitative convergence rates are given.

In this paper, we investigate a $q$-form field, represented as $\displaystyle X_{M_1M_2...M_q}$, where $\displaystyle q$ indicates the number of indices, with special cases $\displaystyle q = 0, 1, 2$ corresponding to the scalar fields, vector fields, and Kalb-Ramond fields, respectively. Unlike the duality observed between scalar and vector fields in four-dimensional spacetime, $q$-form fields in higher dimensions correspond to a wider array of particles. We propose a novel localized Kaluza-Klein decomposition approach for the $q$-form field in a five-dimensional spacetime, considering its coupling with gravity and background scalar fields. This methodology enables the successful localization of the $q$-form field on a domain wall brane, leading to the derivation of zero modes, Schr\"{o}dinger-like equations, and a four-dimensional effective action. Additionally, in order to stand for the coupling of the $q$-form field with gravity and scalar fields of the background spacetime, we propose a new coupling function $F(R,\varphi)$. In this paper, we study dual quaternion and dual complex unit gain graphs and their spectral properties in a unified frame of dual unit gain graphs. Unit dual quaternions represent rigid movements in the 3D space, and have wide applications in robotics and computer graphics. Dual complex numbers found application in brain science recently. We establish the interlacing theorem for dual unit gain graphs, and show that the spectral radius of a dual unit gain graph is always not greater than the spectral radius of the underlying graph, and these two radii are equal if and only if the dual gain graph is balanced. By using the dual cosine functions, we establish the closed form of eigenvalues of adjacency and Laplacian matrices of dual complex and quaternion unit gain cycles. We then show the coefficient theorem holds for dual unit gain graphs. Similar results hold for the spectral radius of the Laplacian matrix of the dual unit gain graph too.

The scalar fields, $U(1)$ gauge vector fields, and Kalb-Ramond fields are the $0$-form, 1-form, and 2-form fields, respectively. In four-dimensional space-time, free $q$-form fields are equivalent to scalar or vector fields by a duality, however, in higher-dimensional space-time, $q-$form fields correspond to new types of particles. In this paper, with considering a coupling mechanism between the kinetic term of the $q-$form fields and the background spacetime, we investigate the localization of Kaluza-Klein modes for the $q-$form fields on a $D-$dimensional Randall-Sundrum-like brane model. We demonstrate that the zero mode can be localized on the brane, and the massive Kaluza-Klein modes could be localized or quasi-localized on the brane when with certain value of parameters. Then, we present the localization of the scalar fields, $U(1)$ gauge vector fields, and 2-form Kalb-Ramond fields within a five-dimensional bulk spacetime. For a massless scalar field, an interesting characteristic emerges: When the parameter $t_2$ is negative, the zero mode is localized on both sides of the brane, whereas the massive Kaluza-Klein modes can be quasi-localized at the center of the brane., Comment: 39 pages, 20figures, 4 tables

The lattice thermal conductivity (LTC) of ZrSe$_2$, a typical layered transition metal disulfide, has been calculated using a hybrid approach that combines force field molecular dynamics (MD) simulation and Boltzmann transport equation (BTE). In this approach, the phonon quasiparticle picture of each normal mode can be obtained directly by the velocity autocorrelation function and its power spectrum projected in $q$-space. By employing the retarded one phonon Green's function method, the phonon quasiparticle frequency and lifetime of each independent normal mode are effectively determined. On-the-fly machine learning force fields combine the precision of quantum mechanics and the scale of classical MD to analyze sizable supercells with long-wavelength phonons. This yields accurate LTC by using sufficient $q$-samples in the Brillouin zone, which cannot be achieved at the \emph{ab initio} molecular dynamics scale. The convergent LTC tensor of bulk and monolayer ZrSe$_2$ decays faster with increasing temperature than the well-known $\frac{1}{T}$ scale, which is typically observed when considering only three-phonon scattering. The phonon lifetime and mean free path exhibit significant dependence on temperature. MD simulations encompass all orders of anharmonic effects, thereby enabling an accurate description of anharmonic interactions between phonons at finite temperatures. Moreover, this approach respects the contribution of each normal mode to the LTC based on the BTE, which facilitates the quantitative analysis of phonon anharmonic properties and the role of specific normal modes.

We systematically studied the spin-lattice couplings in the CrF$_3$ monolayer. Our study reveals that the spin exchange constants between the nearest neighbors are notably affected by these couplings. Specifically, the couplings arise predominantly from three distinct phonon modes, namely the covariant, rotation, and stretch of the Cr-F-Cr-F rhombus. By integrating out the phonon degrees of freedom, we derived an effective spin Hamiltonian featuring four-spin product terms, which yields a remarkably intricate magnetic phase diagram. Significantly, numerous plateau states characterized by fractional magnetizations, including 1/2, 1/3, 2/3, 1/4, 1/5, 5/8, 1/9, and 2/9, emerge in the vicinity of the phase transition boundary separating ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic states. These findings show the profound influence of spin-lattice couplings on magnetic properties near the magnetic phase boundaries, and the predicted plateau states are expected to be observable in future experiments.

We show that small perturbations of the spatially homogeneous equilibrium of a thermally driven compressible viscous fluid are globally stable. Specifically, any weak solution of the evolutionary Navier--Stokes--Fourier system driven by thermal convection converges to an equilibrium as time goes to infinity. The main difficulty to overcome is the fact the problem does not admit any obvious Lyapunov function. Recently, weakly-supervised image segmentation using weak annotations like scribbles has gained great attention in computer vision and medical image analysis, since such annotations are much easier to obtain compared to time-consuming and labor-intensive labeling at the pixel/voxel level. However, due to a lack of structure supervision on regions of interest (ROIs), existing scribble-based methods suffer from poor boundary localization. Furthermore, most current methods are designed for 2D image segmentation, which do not fully leverage the volumetric information if directly applied to each image slice. In this paper, we propose a scribble-based volumetric image segmentation, Scribble2D5, which tackles 3D anisotropic image segmentation and aims to its improve boundary prediction. To achieve this, we augment a 2.5D attention UNet with a proposed label propagation module to extend semantic information from scribbles and use a combination of static and active boundary prediction to learn ROI's boundary and regularize its shape. Also, we propose an optional add-on component, which incorporates the shape prior information from unpaired segmentation masks to further improve model accuracy. Extensive experiments on three public datasets and one private dataset demonstrate our Scribble2D5 achieves state-of-the-art performance on volumetric image segmentation using scribbles and shape prior if available., Comment: arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:2205.06779

In this paper, we consider the homogenization of evolutionary incompressible purely viscous non-Newtonian flows of Carreau-Yasuda type in porous media with small perforation parameter $0< \varepsilon \ll 1$, where the small holes are periodically distributed. Darcy's law is recovered in the homogenization limit. Applying Poincar\'e type inequality in porous media allows us to derive the uniform estimates on velocity field, of which the gradient is small of size $\varepsilon$ in $L^{2}$ space. This indicates the nonlinear part in the viscosity coefficient does not contribute in the limit and a linear model (Darcy's law) is obtained. The estimates of the pressure rely on a proper extension from the perforated domain to the homogeneous non-perforated domain. By integrating the equations in time variable such that each term in the resulting equations has certain continuity in time, we can establish the extension of the pressure by applying the dual formula with the restriction operator.

In this paper, we consider a coupling mechanism between the kinetic term and the gravity, in which a coupling function $F(R)$ is introduced into the kinetic term of the five-dimensional scalar field. Based on this scenario, we investigate the localization of scalar fields in three specific braneworld models: the Minkowski brane, the de Sitter brane, and the Anti-de Sitter brane. The brane models considered here are regular with no singularity for scalar curvature. For the Minkowshi brane case, the zero mode can always be localized on the brane, and the massive modes can be localized or quasi-localized on the brane. For the dS$_4$ brane case, two forms of factor $F(R)$ is considered. The zero mode can always be localized, and the massive modes could be quasi-localized on the brane. Besides, with the second coupling factor, the scalar zero mode could be localized on the both sides of the origin of extra dimension, while the massive modes could be quasi-localized on the origin. Linear bosonic modes offer a hardware-efficient alternative for quantum information processing but require access to some nonlinearity for universal control. The lack of nonlinearity in photonics has led to encoded measurement-based quantum computing, which rely on linear operations but requires access to resourceful ('nonlinear') quantum states, such as cubic phase states. In contrast, superconducting microwave circuits offer engineerable nonlinearities but suffer from static Kerr nonlinearity. Here, we demonstrate universal control of a bosonic mode composed of a superconducting nonlinear asymmetric inductive element (SNAIL) resonator, enabled by native nonlinearities in the SNAIL element. We suppress static nonlinearities by operating the SNAIL in the vicinity of its Kerr-free point and dynamically activate nonlinearities up to third order by fast flux pulses. We experimentally realize a universal set of generalized squeezing operations, as well as the cubic phase gate, and exploit them to deterministically prepare a cubic phase state in 60 ns. Schr\"odinger cat states, quantum superpositions of macroscopically distinct classical states, are an important resource for quantum communication, quantum metrology and quantum computation. Especially, cat states in a phase space protected against phase-flip errors can be used as a logical qubit. However, cat states, normally generated in three-dimensional cavities, are facing the challenges of scalability and controllability. Here, we present a novel strategy to generate and store cat states in a coplanar superconducting circuit by the fast modulation of Kerr nonlinearity. At the Kerr-free work point, our cat states are passively preserved due to the vanishing Kerr effect. We are able to prepare a 2-component cat state in our chip-based device with a fidelity reaching 89.1% under a 96 ns gate time. In this paper, we study the nonrelativistic limit of the cubic nonlinear Klein-Gordon equation in $\mathbb{R}^{3}$ with a small parameter $0<\varepsilon \ll 1$, which is inversely proportional to the speed of light. We show that the cubic nonlinear Klein-Gordon equation converges to the cubic nonlinear Schr\"odinger equation with a convergence rate of order $\varepsilon^{2}$. In particular, for the defocusing case and smooth initial data, we prove error estimates of the form $(1+t)\varepsilon^{2}$ at time $t$ which is valid up to long time of order $\varepsilon^{-1}$; while for nonsmooth initial data, we prove error estimates of the form $(1+t)\varepsilon$ at time $t$ which is valid up to long time of order $\varepsilon^{-\frac{1}{2}}$. We have designed a tunable nonlinear resonator terminated by a SNAIL (Superconducting Nonlinear Asymmetric Inductive eLement). Such a device possesses a sweet spot in which the external magnetic flux allows to suppress the Kerr interaction. We have excited photons near this Kerr-free point and characterized the device using a transmon qubit. The excitation spectrum of the qubit allows to observe photon-number-dependent frequency shifts about nine times larger than the qubit linewidth. Our study demonstrates a compact integrated platform for continuous-variable quantum processing that combines large couplings, considerable relaxation times and excellent control over the photon mode structure in the microwave domain.

High-fidelity and rapid readout of a qubit state is key to quantum computing and communication, and it is a prerequisite for quantum error correction. We present a readout scheme for superconducting qubits that combines two microwave techniques: applying a shelving technique to the qubit that effectively increases the energy-relaxation time, and a two-tone excitation of the readout resonator to distinguish among qubit populations in higher energy levels. Using a machine-learning algorithm to post-process the two-tone measurement results further improves the qubit-state assignment fidelity. We perform single-shot frequency-multiplexed qubit readout, with a 140ns readout time, and demonstrate 99.5% assignment fidelity for two-state readout and 96.9% for three-state readout - without using a quantum-limited amplifier.
