Aiming at the problem of weakly or negatively damped low-frequency oscillations caused by cross-zone transmission of electricity from large wind farms, this paper proposes a fast terminal sliding-mode additional damping controller based on the Lyapunov stability theory. By investigating the flexible power regulation characteristics and the capability of dynamic frequency response to damping regulation of doubly-fed wind turbines (DFIG), a rotor magnetic chain controller is designed according to the relationship between the applied voltage and magnetic chain of DFIG rotor and the sliding mode variable structure control method. When low-frequency oscillations occur in the system, the desired magnetic chain value will deviate from the actual magnetic chain value. The additional damping controller outputs an adaptive control signal for the rotor-side power control link to increase the active output of the wind farm and suppress low-frequency oscillations in the system. A simulation model of the wind power grid-connected system is established in MATLAB/Simulink for off-line simulations, and a real-time simulation experiment of a large wind farm cross-zone transmission model based on real time digital simulation system is conducted. The results of both off-line and real-time simulations show that when low-frequency oscillations occur in the system, the proposed control method can quickly regulate the active power emitted by the DFIG and enhance the damping level of the system, which is effective in suppressing low-frequency oscillations in the system.

Aimed at the problem of low-frequency oscillations caused by cross-region power transmissioin of large-scale wind farms, a single neuron adaptive proportion integration differentiation (PID) additional damping control strategy for low-frequency oscillations of the damping system is proposed in this paper. By analyzing the dynamic frequency response characteristics of doubly-fed wind turbines, a wind farm damping system oscillation controller is constructed by introducing quadratic performance indicators into the single neuron adaptive PID control algorithm. By adaptively adjusting the excitation frequency converter, the wind farm can quickly generate active power and the maximum positive damping, and suppress the low-frequency oscillation of the damping system. MATLAB is used to build a four-machine two-region power system simulation model with a wind farm. The comparison verifies that the method proposed in this paper can effectively suppress the swing of the power angle of the synchronous generator when low-frequency oscillation occurs in the system, improve the inertial response of the system, and reduce the risk of low-frequency oscillation in the power grid.

Background: Oral cancer is one of the most common malignancies in the head and neck region. Approximately 90% of oral cancers are oral squamous cell carcinomas (OSCC). 18F‐FDG PET/CT has been used in OSCC patients for its high value in detecting metastatic lymph nodes and distant metastases. PET radiomics and sarcopenia can be measured on the PET and CT components of 18F‐FDG PET/CT. Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the prognostic value of radiomics and sarcopenia measured on the PET and CT components of pre‐operation 18F‐FDG PET/CT in OSCC. Methods: A total of 116 patients eventually enrolled in our study were randomly divided into two cohorts: training cohort (n = 58) and validation cohort (n = 58). The Cox model combined with the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) algorithm was applied to construct the radiomics score (Rad_score). The third lumber skeletal muscle index (L3 SMI) was calculated to identify sarcopenia. Univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses were performed to identify the independent prognostic factors. Based on the clinical factors, the clinical model was constructed, and the combined model was developed through the combination of the clinical model and Rad_score. C index, time‐dependent C‐index curves, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve, calibration curves, and decision curve analysis were used to evaluate the performance of prediction models. Results: Three radiomics features constitute the Rad_score for overall survival (OS) and progression‐free survival (PFS), respectively. Multivariate Cox regression analysis revealed that Rad_score was an independent prognostic factor, whereas sarcopenia was not. The combined models showed satisfactory performance in both the training cohort (C‐index: OS:0.836, PFS:0.776) and the validation cohort (C‐index: OS:0.744, PFS:0.712). The combined models were visualized as nomograms. Nomogram scores can realize the risk stratification of OSCC patients. Lower nomogram score is significantly related to the poorer OS (training cohort: p < 0.0001, validation cohort: p < 0.0001, overall cohort: p < 0.0001) and PFS (training cohort: p < 0.0001, validation cohort: p = 0.00017, overall cohort: p < 0.0001). Conclusions: Rad_score, but not sarcopenia, was an independent prognostic factor for patients with OSCC. The nomograms had a satisfactory performance, which might be helpful for OSCC patients and clinicians in personalized prognostic prediction and treatment decision‐making. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objectives: This study assesses the clinical significance of additional cytogenetic abnormalities (ACAs) and/or the deletion of 3′CBFB (3′CBFBdel) resulting in unbalanced CBFB::MYH11 fusion in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) with inv (16)/t(16;16)/CBFB::MYH11. Methods: We retrospectively evaluated the clinicopathologic features of 47 adult de novo AML with inv (16)/t(16;16)/CBFB::MYH11 fusion. There were 44 balanced and 3 unbalanced CBFB::MYH11 fusions. Given the low frequency of unbalanced cases, the latter group was combined with 19 published cases (N = 22) for statistic and meta‐analysis. Results: Both balanced and unbalanced cases were characterized by frequent ACAs (56.5% and 72.7%, respectively), with +8, +22, and del(7q) as the most frequent abnormalities. The unbalanced group tends to be younger individuals (p =.04) and is associated with a lower remission rate (p =.02), although the median overall survival (OS) was not statistically different (p =.2868). In the balanced group, "ACA" subgroup had higher mortality (p =.013) and shorter OS (p =.011), and patients with relapsed disease had a significantly shorter OS (p =.0011). Cox multivariate regression analysis confirmed that ACAs and history of disease relapse are independent risk factors, irrespective of disease relapse status. In the combined cohort, cases with ACAs had shorter OS than those with "Sole" abnormality (p =.0109). Conclusions: ACAs are independent high‐risk factors in adult AML with inv (16)/t(16;16)/CBFB::MYH11 fusion and should be integrated for risk stratification in this disease. Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) are age-related myeloid neoplasms with Increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The mechanisms of transformation of MDS to AML are poorly understood, especially in relation to the aging microenvironment. We previously established an mDia1/miR-146a double knockout (DKO) mouse model phenocopying MDS. These mice develop age-related pancytopenia with oversecretion of proinflammatory cytokines. Here, we found that most of the DKO mice underwent leukemic transformation at 12-14 months of age. These mice showed myeloblast replacement of fibrotic bone marrow and widespread leukemic infiltration. Strikingly, depletion of IL-6 in these mice largely rescued the leukemic transformation and markedly extended survival. Single-cell RNA sequencing analyses revealed that DKO leukemic mice had increased monocytic blasts that were reduced with IL-6 knockout. We further revealed that the levels of surface and soluble IL-6 receptor (IL-6R) in the bone marrow were significantly increased in high-risk MDS patients. Similarly, IL-6R was also highly expressed in older DKO mice. Blocking of IL-6 signaling significantly ameliorated AML progression in the DKO model and clonogenicity of CD34-positive cells from MDS patients. We evaluated the prognostic significance of a modified European LeukemiaNet (ELN) classification for patients with acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) while in first complete remission (CR1). We analyzed 464 AML patients with matched related (n = 211, 45.5%), matched unrelated (n = 176, 37.9%), and mismatched donors (n = 77, 16.6%). Patients were classified into 4 modified ELN risk groups (favorable, intermediate-I, intermediate-II, and adverse) separately for 354 patients age < 60 years and 110 patients age ≥ 60 years. In this modified version of ELN classification, patients with normal cytogenetic were classified by FLT3-ITD mutational status: favorable risk if FLT3-ITDwild and intermediate-I if FLT3-ITDmut. The best outcomes occurred in the ELN favorable and intermediate-II groups in younger AML patients and in the favorable and intermediate-I groups in older AML patients. Older AML patients had worse transplant outcomes within each modified ELN risk group except intermediate-I when compared with younger patients; leukemia-free survival at 3 years was 67.8% versus 49.8% in favorable, 53.4% versus 50.7% in intermediate-I, 65.7% versus 20.2% in intermediate-II, and 44.6% versus 23.8% in adverse group younger and older patients, respectively. Among lesion-specific abnormalities, del5q/-5 and abnl(17p) had the worse transplant outcomes, with 3-year leukemia-free survival rates of 18.4% and 20% in younger CR1 patients. In conclusion, the modified ELN prognostic classification developed for chemotherapy outcomes also identifies prognostic groups for HSCT, which is useful for a selection of patients for post-transplant strategies to improve outcomes.

We investigated the impact of patient and disease characteristics, including cytogenetics, previous therapy, and depth of response, on the outcome of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) for patients with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). We analyzed 256 MDS patients who underwent transplantation from a matched related (n = 133) or matched unrelated (n = 123) donor after 2001. Of the 256, 78 (30.5%) did not receive cytoreductive therapy before HSCT; 40 (15.6%) received chemotherapy, 122 (47.7%) received hypomethylating agents (HMA), and 16 (6.2%) received both (chemo+HMA). Disease status at HSCT defined by International Working Criteria was complete remission in 46 (18%) patients. There were significant differences between therapy groups: there were more therapy-related MDS and higher use of matched related donor in the untreated group. The chemotherapy group had higher serum ferritin levels at HSCT. Patients were older and had more high-risk disease by revised International Prognostic Scoring in the HMA group. Despite those differences, transplantation outcomes were similar in patients who were untreated and who received cytoreductive therapy before HSCT. Three-year event-free survival (EFS) was 44.2%, 30.6%, 34.2%, and 32.8% for untreated, chemotherapy, HMA, and chemo+HMA groups, respectively (P = .50). Multivariate analyses revealed that older age (hazard ratio [HR], 1.3; P = .001); high-risk histologic subtypes, including refractory anemia with excess blasts (HR, 1.5; P = .05) and chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (HR, 2.1; P = .03), high-risk cytogenetics with monosomal karyotype (MK) (HR, 4.0; P
