This paper proposes an improved selective kernel network-temporal convolutional (SKResNet-TCN) network-based video recognition model for isolated word sign language with too large parameters, large computation, and difficult to extract effective features. SKResNet uses grouped convolution to save computational cost while dynamically selecting feature information of different perceptual fields to improve the feature extraction ability of the model for video frame images, and TCN introduces causal and inflation convolution to take full advantage of computer parallel computing and reduce memory overhead during computation. The introduction of causal convolution and dilation convolution allows the network to take full advantage of computer parallel computing and reduce memory overhead during computation, and it can capture the feature information between consecutive frames. In this paper, we design a hybrid SKResNet-TCN network model based on these two networks, and propose a solution of hybrid inflated convolution for the problem of losing information between data features in inflated convolution, using adaptive maximum pooling to preserve significant features of sign language instead of adaptive average pooling, and using Mish activation function to improve the generalization ability and accuracy of the model. The accuracy is 100% on the Argentine LSA64 dataset, and the experimental results show that the model in this paper has the advantages of fewer model parameters, smaller operations, and higher accuracy in sign language recognition compared with traditional 3D convolutional networks and long–short term memory, which effectively saves computational cost and time cost.

The aim of this study is to create a hydraulic numerical model to analyze the hydraulic transient process associated with the water delivery system of the cascade pumping stations of the Miyun Reservoir Regulation and Storage Project. Based on the characteristics of the project, which include open channels, co-dependent structures and control structures, a mathematical model of the corresponding inner boundary was established. The numerical model of transient flow was developed by combining computer simulation techniques with the one-dimensional Saint-Venant equations. This approach is suitable for the water delivery system of cascade pumping stations. This model was subsequently applied in the study area. The numerical simulation results show that the model of the hydraulic transient process yielded relatively high precision (error of less than 2 cm). The model was used to perform numerical simulations of flow regulation and emergency conditions in the water conveyance system. The study provides a practical numerical method for precisely evaluating the hydraulic transient process for the water delivery system of cascade pumping stations, basic data for the operation and optimization of the water conveyance system, and a reference for the safe operation of the Miyun Reservoir Storage Project, as well as efficient water delivery.

In this paper, automatic control of the water level in an irrigation canal by automatic regulation of intermediate gates was studied. Previous scholars have proposed a water level difference control strategy that works to keep relative deviations in all pools the same for a particular situation where the operator does not have full control over the canal inflow, with the centralized linear quadratic regulator (LQR) control method used. While in practice, the deviation tolerance of pools may differ in some canals which limits the applicability of the control strategy. In this work, a weight coefficient was added to the deviation and the algorithm was improved to keep the relative deviations to certain proportions. The model predictive control (MPC) method was then used with this improved control strategy and was compared to the LQR control method using the same control strategy. The results showed that the improved strategy can keep the water level deviations in all pools to certain proportions, as is our objective. Also, under this difference control strategy, the MPC method greatly improved the control performance compared to the LQR control method.
