This study conducted a series of true triaxial hydraulic fracturing experiments on Longmaxi Formation shale. We investigated the interaction between internal factors and external factors on the inter-well interference of 400 mm cubic porous specimens. During dual wellbore fracturing at different formations, forming inter-well interference through secondary hydraulic fractures lead to a lower interference intensity and larger stimulated rock area. When adopting a three-layer well layout during three-wellbore fracturing, the vertical distance between the wells is shortened, activating more bedding planes. Regardless of a horizontal well placement with two wellbores or a three-dimensional two-layer well placement with three wellbores, increasing the vertical stress leads to more potent inter-well interference. There is no absolute positive correlation between the stimulated rock area and inter-well interference. It can be influenced by the presence of natural fractures within the formation that can even lead to a reduction in the stimulated area. When the well placement changes from two horizontal wellbores to three-dimensional two-layer sites with three wellbores and the vertical stress increases, the inter-well interference becomes stronger, but the stimulated rock area only increases by 22.6%. These findings provide crucial guidance for the hydraulic fracturing design of shale reservoirs.

The barrierless exothermic reactions between atomic oxygen and the cyano radical, O(3P) + CN(X2 Σ + ) → CO(X1Σ+) + N(2D)/N(4S), play a significant role in combustion, astrochemistry, and hypersonic environments. In this work, their dynamics and kinetics are investigated using both wave packet (WP) and quasi-classical trajectory (QCT) methods on recently developed potential energy surfaces of the 12A′, 12A,″ and 14A″ states. The product state distributions in the doublet pathway obtained with the WP method for a few partial waves show extensive internal excitation in the CO product. This observation, combined with highly oscillatory reaction probabilities, signals a complex-forming mechanism. The statistical nature of the reaction is confirmed by comparing the WP results with those from phase space theory. The calculated rate coefficients using the WP (with a J-shifting approximation) and QCT methods exhibit agreement with each other near room temperature, 1.77 × 10−10 and 1.31 × 10−10 cm3 molecule−1 s−1, but both are higher than the existing experimental results. The contribution of the quartet pathway is small at room temperature due to a small entrance channel bottleneck. The QCT rate coefficients are further compared with experimental results above 3000 K, and the agreement is excellent. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Vibrational energy transfer in collisions between ions and neutrals is a fundamental process in interstellar media, planetary atmospheres, and plasmas. The conventional wisdom is that glancing collisions with large impact parameters are forward-scattered with low vibrational excitation, while hard collisions with small impact parameters are sideway- or backward-scattered with relatively high vibrational excitation. Here, we report experimental observations with a three-dimensional velocity-map imaging crossed-beam apparatus in the inelastic scattering process Ar++N2(v′′ = 0, J′′)→Ar++N2(v′, J′), where all the vibrationally excited N2 products are dominated by forward scattering, contradicting the textbook model. Trajectory surface hopping calculations not only reproduced the experimental observation qualitatively, but also revealed that the vibrational excitation mainly occurs through a transient charge-transfer process. The hard collision glory mechanism, which has so far only been observed in inelastic rotational energy transfer between neutrals, is shown to play a major role for vibrational excitation in the inelastic Ar++N2 collision, via the frustrated charge transfer process.Inelastic collisions between small particles typically lead to low/high vibrational excitation when forward/backward scattered. Efficient order allocation and inventory management are essential for the success of supply chain operations in today's dynamic and competitive business environment. This research introduces an innovative decision-making model incorporating dependability factors into redesigning and optimizing order allocation and inventory management systems. The proposed model aims to enhance the overall reliability of supply chain operations by integrating stochastic factors such as demand fluctuations, lead time uncertainty, and variable supplier performance. The system, named Dynamic Reliability-Driven Order Allocation and Inventory Management (DROAIM), combines stochastic models, reliability-based supplier evaluation, dynamic algorithms, and real-time analytics to create a robust and flexible framework for supply chain operations. It evaluates the dependability of suppliers, transportation networks, and internal procedures, offering a comprehensive approach to managing supply chain operations. A case study and simulations were conducted to assess the efficacy of the proposed approach. The findings demonstrate significant improvements in the overall reliability of supply chain operations, reduced stockout occurrences, and optimized inventory levels. Additionally, the model shows adaptability to various industry-specific challenges, making it a versatile tool for practitioners aiming to enhance their supply chain resilience. Ultimately, this research contributes to existing knowledge by providing a thorough decision-making framework incorporating dependability factors into order allocation and inventory management processes. ObjectiveTo explore the current status of academic stress， self-control and mobile game addiction among middle school students， and to test the mediating role of self-control.MethodsA total of 750 middle school students were enrolled by convenient sampling method， and were assessed using Academic Pressure Questionnaire， Self-Control Scale （SCS） and Mobile Game Addiction Scale. Thereafter， the mediating effect of self-control on the association between academic stress and mobile game addiction was analyzed with PROCESS mediating effect test.ResultsA total of 682 middle school students completed the survey. The scores of Academic Pressure Questionnaire， SCS and Mobile Game Addiction Scale of the selected middle school students were （58.56±11.34）， （38.42±6.94） and （34.23±12.14）， respectively. ObjectiveTo discuss the relationship between general self-efficacy and mobile game addiction among middle school students， and to analyse the mediating role of time management disposition.MethodsFrom November 2020 to February 2021， a sample of 667 students were recruited from three middle schools in Jiangxi and Sichuan provinces using cluster sampling method. The excessive discharge of nitrogen leads to water eutrophication. The partial nitritation and anammox (PN/A) process is a promising technology for biological nitrogen removal in wastewater treatment. However, applying it to mature landfill leachate (MLL) faces challenges, as the toxic substances (e.g., heavy metal) within MLL inhibit the activity of anammox bacteria. Therefore, most previous studies focused on diluted, pretreated, or chemically adjusted MLL. This study demonstrated at full scale that the two-stage PN/A process can treat raw MLL. Initially, the operational issue of sludge floatation resulted in rapid biomass loss with overflow discharging, which selectively suppresses nitrite-oxidizing bacteria (NOB), promoting the achievement of nitrite accumulation. After that, the NOB suppression was self-sustained by the high in situ free ammonia concentration, i.e., 26.2 ± 15.9 mg N/L. In the subsequent anammox tank, nitrogen removal primarily occurred via the anammox process, complemented by denitrification, achieving total nitrogen removal efficiency exceeding 72%. In addition, the nitrogen removal capacity of this system was significantly influenced by temperature with the nitrogen-loading rate above 0.4 kg N/m3/d at 38 °C and approximately 0.1 kg N/m3/d at 21 °C. The optimization of system operation, such as gradually increasing MLL content, remains necessary to enhance nitrogen removal capacity further. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
