The influence of the dark matter mass~($M_{\chi}$) and the Fermi momentum~($k_{F}^{\dm}$) on the $f_0$-mode oscillation frequency, damping time parameter, and tidal deformability of hadronic stars are studied by employing a numerical integration of hydrostatic equilibrium, nonradial oscillation, and tidal deformability equations. The matter inside the hadronic stars follows the NL3* equation of state. We obtain that the influence of $M_{\chi}$ and $k_F^{\dm}$ is observed in the $f_0$-mode, damping tome parameter, and tidal deformability. Finally, the correlation between the tidal deformability of the GW$170817$ event with $M_{\chi}$ and $k_F^{\dm}$ are also investigated.

We study pseudoscalar $\pi$, $K$ and $\eta$ meson properties, such as masses and couplings, in dense matter at zero temperature. We use a recently proposed phenomenological quark model, known as the PNJL0, which takes into account the confinement/deconfinement phase transition by means of the traced Polyakov loop ($\Phi$) which serves as an order parameter at zero temperature. We consider two different scenarios, namely, symmetric quark matter with equal chemical potentials for all the flavors, and the beta equilibrated matter. In the latter case the hadron-quark phase transition is implemented by a two model approach. For the hadron side we use a relativistic mean-field model with density dependent couplings. We show that $\Phi$ induces abrupt changes in the mesons properties with gap sizes regulated by the phenomenological gluonic sector of the model., Comment: 14 pages, 12 figures

We use Bayesian analysis in order to constrain the equation of state for nuclear matter from astrophysical data related to the recent measurements from the NICER mission, LIGO/Virgo collaboration, and probability distributions of mass and radius from other 12 sources, including thermonuclear busters, and quiescent low-mass X-ray binaries. For this purpose, we base our study on a relativistic hadronic mean field model including an $\omega-\rho$ interaction. Our results indicate optimal ranges for some bulk parameters at the saturation density, namely, effective mass, incompressibility, and symmetry energy slope ($L_0$). For instance, we find $L_0 = 50.79^{+15.16}_{-9.24}$ MeV (Case 1) and $L_0 = 75.06^{+8.43}_{-4.43}$ MeV (Case 2) in a $68\%$ confidence interval for the 2 cases analyzed (different input ranges for $L_0$ related to the PREX-II data). The respective parametrizations are in agreement with important nuclear matter constraints, as well as observational neutron star data, such as the dimensionless tidal deformability of the GW170817 event. From the mass-radius curves obtained from these best parametrizations, we also find the ranges of $11.97 \mbox{ km}\leqslant R_{1.4}\leqslant 12.73 \mbox{ km}$ (Case 1) and $12.34 \mbox{ km}\leqslant R_{1.4}\leqslant 13.06 \mbox{ km}$ (Case 2) for the radius of the $1.4M_\odot$ neutron star., Comment: 12 pages, 11 figures, 7 tables

We perform an improvement in a van der Waals-type model by including it effects of short-range correlations (SRC). Attractive and repulsive parts of the nucleon-nucleon interaction are assumed to be density-dependent functions, more specifically, we adopt the Carnahan-Starling (CS) method for the latter, and a suitable expression for the former in order to reproduce the structure of the Clausius (C) real gas model. The parametrizations of the resulting model, named as CCS-SRC model, are shown to be capable of reproducing the flow constraint at the high-density regime of symmetric nuclear matter for incompressibility values inside the range of $K_0=(240\pm 20)$ MeV. In the context of stellar matter, our findings point out a good agreement of the CCS-SRC model with recent astrophysical observational data, namely, mass-radius contours and dimensionless tidal deformability regions and values, coming from gravitational waves data related to the GW170817 and GW190425 events, and from the NASA's Neutron star Interior Composition Explorer (NICER) mission. Furthermore, the values for the symmetry energy slope of the model ($L_0$) are in agreement with a recent range found for this quantity, claimed to be consistent with results reported by the updated lead radius experiment (PREX-2) collaboration. In this case, higher values of $L_0$ are favored, while the opposite scenario does not allow simultaneous compatibility between the model and the astrophysical data., Comment: 9 pages, 11 figures

This work investigates dark matter (DM) effects in compact objects in modified teleparallel gravity (MTG) in which a modification of Teleparallel Equivalent to General Relativity is used. We applied a tetrad to the modified field equations where a set of relations is found. The conservation equation allows us to rewrite our Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff equations with an effective gravitational coupling constant. As input to these new equations, we use a relativistic mean-field (RMF) model with dark matter content included, obtained from a Lagrangian density with both, hadronic and dark particle degrees of freedom, as well as the Higgs boson, used as a mediator in both sectors of the theory. Through numerical calculations, we analyze the mass-radius diagrams obtained from different parametrizations of the RMF-DM model, generated by assuming different values of the dark particle Fermi momentum and running the free parameter coming from the MTG. Our results show that it is possible for the system simultaneously support more DM content, and be compatible with recent astrophysical data provided by LIGO and Virgo Collaboration, as well as by NASA's Neutron star Interior Composition Explorer (NICER)., Comment: 8 pages, 2 figures

In this work we study a relativistic mean-field (RMF) hadronic model, with nucleonic short-range correlations (SRC) included, coupled to dark matter (DM) through the Higgs boson. We study different parametrizations of this model by running the dark particle Fermi momentum, and its mass in the range of $50$ GeV $\leqslant M_\chi\leqslant 500$ GeV, compatible with experimental spin-independent scattering cross-sections. By using this RMF-SRC-DM model, we calculate some neutron star quantities, namely, mass-radius profiles, dimensionless tidal deformabilities, and crustal properties. Our findings show that is possible to construct RMF-SRC-DM parametrizations in agreement with constraints provided by LIGO and Virgo collaboration (LVC) on the GW170817 event, and recent observational data from the NICER mission. Furthermore, we show that the increase of $M_\chi$ favors the model to attain data from LVC regarding the tidal deformabilities. Higher values of $M_\chi$ also induce a reduction of the neutron star crust (mass and thickness), and cause a decrease of the crustal fraction of the moment of inertia ($I_{\rm{\tiny crust}}/I$). Nevertheless, we show that some RMF-SRC-DM parametrizations still exhibit $I_{\rm{\tiny crust}}/I>7\%$, a condition that explains the glitch activity in rotation-powered pulsars such as the Vela one. In this work we study the outcomes related to dimensionless tidal deformability $(\Lambda)$ obtained through a relativistic mean-field (RMF) hadronic model including short-range correlations (SRC) and dark matter (DM) content [Phys. Rev. D 105, 023008 (2022)]. As a dark particle candidate, we use the lightest neutralino interacting with nucleons through the Higgs boson exchange. In particular, we test the model against the constraints regarding the observation of gravitational waves from the binary neutron star merger GW170817 event provided by LIGO and Virgo collaboration (LVC). We show that $\Lambda$ decreases as the dark particle Fermi momentum ($k_F^{DM}$) increases. This feature favors the RMF-SRC-DM model used here to satisfy the limits of $\Lambda_{1.4}=190^{+390}_{-120}$ ($\Lambda$ of a $1.4M_\odot$ neutron star), and $\tilde{\Lambda}=300^{+420}_{-230}$ given by the LVC. We also show that as $k_F^{DM}$ increases, $\Lambda_1$ and $\Lambda_2$, namely, tidal deformabilities of the binary system, are also moved to the direction of the GW170817 observational data. Finally, we verify that the inclusion of DM in the system does not destroy the \mbox{$I$-Love} relation (correlation between $\Lambda$ and dimensionless moment of inertia, $\bar{I}$). The observation data for $\bar{I}_\star\equiv\bar{I}(M_\star)=11.10^{+3.68}_{-2.28}$, with $M_\star=1.338M_\odot$, is attained by the RMF-SRC-DM model., Comment: 8 pages, 4 figures. A relativistic mean field hadronic model with a dark matter (DM) particle coupled to nucleons including short-range correlations (SRC) is applied to study neutron stars (NS). The lightest neutralino is chosen as the dark particle candidate, which interacts with nucleons by the exchange of Higgs bosons. A detailed thermodynamical analysis shows that the contribution of the DM fermions to the energy density of the matter composed by these particles and nucleons is completely dominated by the DM kinetic terms. The model reproduces satisfactorily the constraints on the mass-radius diagram obtained from the analysis of the combined data from the NICER mission, LIGO and Virgo collaborations, and mass measurements from radio observations. We show that the SRC balance the reduction of the neutron star mass due to the DM component, and because of that the model is able to present more massive NS. We also present a study of the effect, in the NS mass-radius profiles, of the uncertainties in some bulk parameters related to the hadronic sector. We find that it is possible to generate parametrizations, with DM content, compatible with the recent astrophysical constraints and with the uncertainty in the symmetry energy slope obtained from the results reported by the updated Lead Radius EXperiment (PREX-2)., Comment: 12 pages, 12 figures. We propose a three-flavor version of the Polyakov-Nambu-Jona-Lasino (PNJL) model at zero temperature regime, by implementing a traced Polyakov loop ($\Phi$) dependence in the scalar, vector and 't Hooft channel strengths. We study the thermodynamics of this model, named as PNJL0, with special attention for the first order confinement/deconfinement phase transition for which $\Phi$ is the order parameter. For the symmetric quark matter case, an interesting feature observed is a strong reduction of the constituent strange quark mass ($M_s$) at the chemical potential related to point where deconfinement takes place. The emergence of $\Phi$ favors the restoration of chiral symmetry even for the strange quark. We also investigate the charge neutral system of quarks and leptons in weak equilibrium. As an application, we construct a hadron-quark phase transition with a density dependent hadronic model coupled to the SU(3) PNJL0 model. In this case, the quark side is composed by deconfined particles. This approach is used to determine mass-radius profiles compatible with recent data from the Neutron Star Interior Composition Explorer (NICER) mission., Comment: 14 pages, 11 figures. We calculate crustal properties of neutron stars, namely, mass ($M_{\rm crust}$), radius ($R_{\rm crust}$) and fraction of moment of inertia ($\Delta I/I$) from parametrizations of hadronic relativistic mean-field (RMF) model consistent with symmetric and asymmetric nuclear matter constraints, as well as some stellar boundaries. We verify which one are also in agreement with restrictions of $\Delta I/I \geqslant 1.4\%$ and $\Delta I/I \geqslant 7\%$ related to the glitching mechanism observed in pulsars, such as the Vela one. The latter constraint explains the glitches phenomenon when entrainment effects are taken into account. Our findings indicate that these parametrizations pass in the glitching limit for a neutron star mass range of $M\leqslant 1.82M_\odot$ ($\Delta I/I \geqslant 1.4\%$), and $M\leqslant 1.16M_\odot$ ($\Delta I/I \geqslant 7\%$). We also investigate the influence of nuclear matter bulk parameters on crustal properties and find that symmetry energy is the quantity that produces the higher variations on $M_{\rm crust}$, $R_{\rm crust}$, and~$\Delta I/I$. Based on the results, we construct a particular RMF parametrization able to satisfy $\Delta I/I \geqslant 7\%$ even at $M=1.4M_\odot$, the mass value used to fit data from the softer component of the Vela pulsar X-ray spectrum. In this work we investigate neutron stars (NS) in $f(\mathcal{R,T})$ gravity for the case $R+2\lambda\mathcal{T}$, $\mathcal{R}$ is the Ricci scalar and $\mathcal{T}$ the trace of the energy-momentum tensor. The hydrostatic equilibrium equations are solved considering realistic equations of state (EsoS). The NS masses and radii obtained are subject to a joint constrain from massive pulsars and the event GW170817. The parameter $\lambda$ needs to be negative as in previous NS studies, however we found a minimum value for it. The value should be $|\lambda|\lesssim0.02$ and the reason for so small value in comparison with previous ones obtained with simpler EsoS is due to the existence of the NS crust. The pressure in theory of gravity depends on the inverse of the sound velocity $v_s$. Since, $v_s$ is low in the crust, $|\lambda|$ need to be very small. We found that the increment in the star mass is less than $1\%$, much smaller than previous ones obtained not considering the realistic stellar structure, and the star radius cannot become larger, its changes compared to GR is less than $3.6\%$ in all cases. The finding that using several relativistic and non-relativistic models the variation on the NS mass and radius are almost the same for all the EsoS, manifests that our results are insensitive to the high density part of the EsoS. It confirms that stellar mass and radii changes depend only on crust, where the EoS is essentially the same for all the models. The NS crust effect implying very small values of $|\lambda|$ does not depend on the theory's function chosen, since for any other one the hydrostatic equilibrium equation would always have the dependence $1/v_s$. Finally, we highlight that our results indicate that conclusions obtained from NS studies done in modified theories of gravity without using realistic EsoS that describe correctly the NS interior can be unreliable., Comment: Few typos corrected and new references added. A set of equations of state obtained from finite-range Gogny forces and momentum-dependent interactions is used to investigate the recent observation of gravitational waves from the binary neutron star merger GW170817 event. For this set of interactions, we have calculated the neutron star tidal deformabilities (related to the second Love number), the mass-radius diagram, and the moment of inertia~($I$). The $I$-Love relation has been verified. We also have found strong correlations among the tidal deformability of the canonical neutron star, its radius, and the derivatives of the nuclear symmetry energy at the saturation density. A recently proposed density-dependent van der Waals model, with only $4$ free parameters adjusted to fix binding energy, saturation density, symmetry energy, and incompressibility, is analyzed under symmetric and asymmetric nuclear matter constraints. In a previous paper, it was shown that this model is fully consistent with the constraints related to the binary neutron star merger event named GW170817 and reported by the LIGO and Virgo collaboration. Here, we show that it also describes satisfactorily the low and high-density regions of symmetric nuclear matter, with all the main constraints satisfied. We also found a linear correlation between the incompressibility and the skewness parameter, both at the saturation density and show how it relates to the crossing point presented in the incompressibility as a function of the density. In the asymmetric matter regime, other linear correlations are found, namely, the one between the symmetry energy ($J$) and its slope ($L_0$), and other one establishing the symmetry energy curvature as a function of the combination given by $3J-L_0$., Comment: 20 pages, 7 figures

We propose a density-dependent function for the attractive interaction in the original van der Waals model to correctly describe the flow constraint at the high-density regime of the symmetric nuclear matter. After a generalization to asymmetric nuclear matter, it was also possible to study the stellar matter regime from this new model. The mass-radius relation for neutron stars under $\beta$-equilibrium is found to agree with recent X-ray observations. The neutron star masses supported against gravity, obtained from some parametrizations of the model, are in the range of $(1.97-2.07)M_{\odot}$, compatible with observational data from the PSR J0348+0432 pulsar. Furthermore, we verify the reliability of the model in predicting tidal deformabilities of the binary system related to the GW170817 neutron star merger event and find a full agreement with the new bounds obtained by the LIGO/Virgo collaboration., Comment: 11 pages, 7 figures. The high-density behavior of the stellar matter composed of nucleons and leptons under $\beta$~equilibrium and charge neutrality conditions is studied with the Skyrme parametrizations shown to be consistent (CSkP) with the nuclear matter, pure neutron matter, symmetry energy and its derivatives in a set of $11$ constraints [Dutra {\it et al.}, Phys. Rev. C 85, 035201 (2012)]. The predictions of these parametrizations on the tidal deformabilities related to the GW170817 event are also examined. The CSkP that produce massive neutron stars give a range of $11.86~\mbox{km} \leqslant R_{1.4} \leqslant 12.55~\mbox{km}$ for the canonical star radius, in agreement with other theoretical predictions. It is shown that the CSkP are compatible with the region of masses and radii obtained from the analysis of recent data from LIGO and Virgo Collaboration (LVC). A correlation between dimensionless tidal deformability and radius of the canonical star is found, namely, $\Lambda_{1.4} \approx 3.16\times10^{-6}R_{1.4}^{7.35}$, with results for the CSkP compatible with the recent range of $\Lambda_{1.4}=190_{-120}^{+390}$ from LVC. An analysis of the $\Lambda_1\times\Lambda_2$ graph shows that all the CSkP are compatible with the recent bounds obtained by LVC. Finally, the universal correlation between the moment of inertia and the deformability of a neutron star, named as the \mbox{$I$-Love} relation, is verified for the CSkP, that are also shown to be consistent with the prediction for the moment of inertia of the \mbox{PSR J0737-3039} primary component pulsar., Comment: 10 pages, 7 figures

We revisit the study published in [1], related to the behavior of 34 relativistic mean-field models, previously selected because they satisfy bulk nuclear matter properties, here used to compute the critical parameters of the symmetric nuclear matter. We evaluate their critical temperature, pressure, and density and compare with some values encountered in the literature. In the present work, the critical temperature, critical pressure and critical density, known as the critical parameters related to the liquid-gas phase transition are calculated for 34 relativistic mean-field models, which were shown to satisfy nuclear matter constraints in a comprehensive study involving 263 models. The compressibility factor was calculated and all 34 models present values lower than the one obtained with the van der Waals equation of state. The critical temperatures were compared with experimental data and just two classes of models can reach values close to them. The present work starts by providing a clear identification of correlations between critical parameters ($T_c$, $P_c$, $\rho_c$) and bulk quantities at zero temperature of relativistic mean-field models (RMF) presenting third and fourth order self-interactions in the scalar field $\sigma$. Motivated by the nonrelativistic version of this RMF model, we show that effective nucleon mass ($M^*$) and incompressibility ($K_o$), at the saturation density, are correlated with $T_c$, $P_c$, and $\rho_c$, as well as, binding energy and saturation density itself. We verify agreement of results with previous theoretical ones regarding different hadronic models. Concerning recent experimental data of the symmetric nuclear matter critical parameters, our study allows a prediction of $T_c$, $P_c$ and $\rho_c$ compatible with such values, by combining them, through the correlations found, with previous constraints related to $M^*$ and $K_o$. Final state interactions are considered to formulate the $B$ meson decay amplitude for the $K\pi\pi$ channel. The Faddeev decomposition of the Bethe-Salpeter equation is used in order to build a relativistic three-body model within the light-front framework. The S-wave scattering amplitude for the $K\pi$ system is considered in the $1/2$ and $3/2$ isospin channels with the set of inhomogeneous integral equations solved perturbatively. In comparison with previous results for the $D$ meson decay in the same channel, one has to consider the different partonic processes, which build the source amplitudes, and the larger absorption to other decay channels appears, that are important features to be addressed. As in the $D$ decay case, the convergence of the rescattering perturbative series is also achieved with two-loop contributions., Comment: 10 pages, 4 figures

In this work, we study the arising of correlations among some isoscalar ($K_o$, $Q_o$, and $I_o$) and isovector ($J$, $L_o$, $K_{sym}^o$, $Q_{sym}^o$, and $I_{sym}^o$) bulk parameters in nonrelativistic and relativistic hadronic mean-field models. For the former, we investigate correlations in Skyrme and Gogny parametrizations, as well as in the nonrelativistic (NR) limit of relativistic point-coupling models. We provide analytical correlations among bulk parameters for the NR limit, discussing the conditions in which they are linear ones. Based on a recent study [B. M. Santos et al., Phys. Rev. C 90, 035203 (2014)], we also show that some correlations presented in the NR limit are reproduced for relativistic models presenting cubic and quartic self-interactions in the scalar field $\sigma$, mostly studied in this work in the context of the relativistic framework. We also discuss how the crossing points, observed in the density dependence of some bulk parameters, can be seen as a signature of linear correlations between the specific bulk quantity presenting the crossing, and its immediately next order parameter., Comment: 18 pages, 28 figures

Resonances and final state interactions (FSI) play a role in the formation of CP violation (CPV) constrained by CPT invariance. We provide a general formulation of CPV including resonances and FSI starting from the CPT constraint. Our discussion is elaborated within a simple $B$ decay model with the $\rho$ and $f_0(980)$ resonances plus a non resonant background including the $\pi\pi \to KK$ coupled amplitude. We consider few illustrative examples to show the interference patterns appearing in the CP asymmetry, namely, that from the $\rho$ resonance plus a non-resonant amplitude, and that from the interference of the $\rho$ and $f_0(980)$ resonances. We perform the fit of the CP asymmetry for the charmless three-body $B^\pm$ decay channel $B^{\pm}\to \pi^{\pm} \pi^+\pi^-$ and obtain as outcome the $B^{\pm}\to \pi^{\pm} K^+K^-$ for $\pi\pi$ channel asymmetry in the mass region below $1.6$ GeV in fair agreement with the new data LHCb data. Analogously, we also describe the CP asymmetry of the $B^\pm\to K^\pm\pi^+\pi^-$ decay, with that from the $B^\pm\to K^\pm K^+K^-$ channel obtained as output. Apart from Magnetic Catalysis at low temperatures, recent LQCD studies have shown the opposite effect at temperatures near the transition region: instead of enhancing, the magnetic field suppresses the quark condensates (Inverse Magnetic Catalysis). By using point-coupling versions of finite range nuclear relativistic mean field models containing cubic and quartic self interactions in the scalar field $\sigma$, a nonrelativistic limit is achieved. This approach allows an analytical expression for the symmetry energy ($J$) as a function of its slope ($L$) in a unified form, namely, $\,L\,=\,3J\,+f(m^{*},\rho_{o},B_{o},K_{o})$, where the quantities $m^{*}$, $\rho_{o}$, $B_{o}$ and $K_{o}$ are bulk parameters at the nuclear matter saturation density $\rho_{o}$. This result establishes a linear correlation between $L$ and $J$ which is reinforced by exact relativistic calculations. An analogous analytical correlation is also found for $J$, $L$ and the symmetry energy curvature ($K_{sym}$). Based on these results, we propose graphic constraints in $L\times J$ and $K_{sym}\times L$ planes which finite range models must satisfy., Comment: 9 pages, 9 figures

Relativistic mean-field (RMF) models have been widely used in the study of many hadronic frameworks because of several important aspects not always present in nonrelativistic models, such as intrinsic Lorentz covariance, automatic inclusion of spin, appropriate saturation mechanism for nuclear matter, causality and, therefore, no problems related to superluminal speed of sound. With the aim of identifying the models which best satisfy well known properties of nuclear matter, we have analyzed $263$ parameterizations of seven different types of RMF models under three different sets of constraints related to symmetric nuclear matter, pure neutron matter, symmetry energy, and its derivatives. One of these (SET1) is formed of the same constraints used in a recent work [M. Dutra et al., Phys. Rev. C 85, 035201 (2012)] in which we analyzed $240$ Skyrme parameterizations. The results pointed to $2$ models consistent with all constraints. By using another set of constraints, namely, SET2a, formed by the updated versions of the previous one, we found $4$ models approved simultaneously. Finally, in the third set, named SET2b, in which the values of the constraints are more restrictive, we found $3$ consistent models. Another interesting feature of our analysis is that the results change dramatically if we do not consider the constraint regarding the volume part of the isospin incompressibility ($K_{\tau,\rm v}$). The QCD phase diagram at zero chemical potential and finite temperature subject to an external magnetic field is studied within the three flavor Nambu--Jona-Lasinio (NJL) model and the NJL model with the Polyakov loop (PNJL). A scalar coupling parameter dependent on the magnetic field intensity is considered. The scalar coupling has been fitted so that the lattice QCD pseudocritical chiral transition temperatures are reproduced and in the limit of large magnetic field decreases with the inverse of the magnetic field intensity. This dependence of the coupling allows to reproduce the lattice QCD results with respect to the quark condensates and Polyakov loop: due to the magnetic field the quark condensates are enhanced at low and high temperatures and suppressed for temperatures close to the transition temperatures and the Polyakov loop increases with the magnetic field., Comment: 9 pages,12 figures; PRD version

The final state interaction contribution to $D^+$ decays is computed for the $K^-\pi^+\pi^+$ channel within a light-front relativistic three-body model for the final state interaction. The rescattering process between the kaon and two pions in the decay channel is considered. The off-shell decay amplitude is a solution of a four-dimensional Bethe-Salpeter equation, which is decomposed in a Faddeev form. The projection onto the light-front of the coupled set of integral equations is performed via a quasi-potential approach. The S-wave $K\pi$ interaction is introduced in the resonant isospin $1/2$ and the non-resonant isospin $3/2$ channels. The numerical solution of the light-front tridimensional inhomogeneous integral equations for the Faddeev components of the decay amplitude is performed perturbatively. The loop-expansion converges fast, and the three-loop contribution can be neglected in respect to the two-loop results for the practical application. The dependence on the model parameters in respect to the input amplitude at the partonic level is exploited and the phase found in the experimental analysis, is fitted with an appropriate choice of the real weights of the isospin components of the partonic amplitude. The data suggests a small mixture of total isospin $5/2$ to the dominant $3/2$ one. The modulus of the unsymmetrized decay amplitude, which presents a deep valley and a following increase for $K\pi$ masses above $1.5$ GeV, is fairly reproduced. This suggests the assignment of the quantum numbers $0^+$ to the isospin 1/2 $K^*(1630)$ resonance.

The final state interaction (FSI) contribution to charged $D$ decay into $K\pi\pi$ is computed within a light-front framework, considering $S$-wave $K\pi$ interactions in $1/2$ and $3/2$ isospin states. The convergence of the rescattering series is checked computing terms up to the third perturbative order. The role of the resonances above $K^*_0(1430)$, and the contribution of the $K\pi$ $3/2$ isospin channel to charged three-body $D$ decays, are studied against the available phase-shift analysis., Comment: 6 pages and 3 figures. We show that the magnitude of the order parameters in Polyakov-Nambu-Jona-Lasinio (PNJL) model, given by the quark condensate and the Polyakov loop, can be used as a criterium to clearly identify, without ambiguities, phases and boundaries of the strongly interacting matter, namely, the broken/restored chiral symmetry, and confinement/deconfinement regions. This structure is represented by the projection of the order parameters in the temperature-chemical potential plane, which allows a clear identification of pattern changes in the phase diagram. Such a criterium also enables the emergence of a quarkyonic phase even in the two-flavor system. We still show that this new phase diminishes due to the influence of an additional vector-type interaction in the PNJL phase diagrams, and is quite sensitive to the effect of the change of the $T_0$ parameter in the Polyakov potential. Finally, we show that the phases and boundaries constructed by our method indicate that the order parameters should be more strongly correlated, as in the case of entanglement PNJL (EPNJL) model. This result suggests a novel way to pursue further investigation of new interactions between the order parameters in order to improve the PNJL model., Comment: 12 pages, 11 figures. We show that, besides the usual short distance contribution for CP violation, final state interactions together with CPT invariance can play an important role in the recent observation of CP violation in three-body charmless $B^\pm$ decays. A significant part of the observed CP asymmetry distribution in the Dalitz plot is located in a region where hadronic channels are strongly coupled. We illustrate our discussion comparing the recent observation of CP violation in the $B^\pm\to K^\pm K^+ K^-$ and $B^\pm\to K^\pm \pi^+ \pi^-$ phase space, with a calculation based on $\pi\pi\to KK$ scattering., Comment: 6 pages, 1 figure. In this work we present the features of the hadron-quark phase transition diagrams in which the pions are included in the system. To construct such diagrams we use two different models in the description of the hadronic and quark sectors. At the quark level, we consider two distinct parametrizations of the Polyakov-Nambu-Jona-Lasinio (PNJL) models. In the hadronic side, we use a well known relativistic mean-field (RMF) nonlinear Walecka model. We show that the effect of the pions on the hadron-quark phase diagrams is to move the critical end point (CEP) of the transitions lines. Such an effect also depends on the value of the critical temperature (T_0) in the pure gauge sector used to parametrize the PNJL models. Here we treat the phase transitions using two values for T_0, namely, T_0 = 270 MeV and T_0 = 190 MeV. The last value is used to reproduce lattice QCD data for the transition temperature at zero chemical potential., Comment: 3 pages. This work presents a preliminary study of 147 relativistic mean-field (RMF) hadronic models used in the literature, regarding their behavior in the nuclear matter regime. We analyze here different kinds of such models, namely: (i) linear models, (ii) nonlinear \sigma^3+\sigma^4 models, (iii) \sigma^3+\sigma^4+\omega^4 models, (iv) models containing mixing terms in the fields \sigma and \omega, (v) density dependent models, and (vi) point-coupling ones. In the finite range models, the attractive (repulsive) interaction is described in the Lagrangian density by the \sigma (\omega) field. The isospin dependence of the interaction is modeled by the \rho meson field. We submit these sets of RMF models to eleven macroscopic (experimental and empirical) constraints, used in a recent study in which 240 Skyrme parametrizations were analyzed. We estimate the vector interaction strength of the Polyakov-Nambu-Jona-Lasinio (PNJL) parametrizations, assuming that its transition curves should be as close as possible of the recently studied RMF-PNJL hadron-quark phase diagrams. Such diagrams are obtained matching relativistic mean-field hadronic models, and the PNJL quark ones. By using this method we found for the magnitude of the vector interaction, often treated as a free parameter, a range of 7.66 GeV$^{-2}\lesssim G_V \lesssim 16.13$ GeV$^{-2}$, or equivalently, $1.52 \lesssim G_V/G_s \lesssim 3.2$, with $G_s$ being the scalar coupling constant of the model. These values are compatible but restricts the range of 4 GeV$^{-2}\lesssim G_V \lesssim 19$ GeV$^{-2}$, recently obtained from lattice QCD data through a different mean-field model approach., Comment: 5 pages, 2 figures

In this work we show how nonlinear point-coupling models, described by a Lagrangian density that presents only terms up to fourth order in the fermion condensate $(\bar{\psi}\psi)$, are derived from a modified meson-exchange nonlinear Walecka model. The derivation can be done through two distinct methods, namely, the hypermassive meson limit within a functional integral approach, and the mean-field approximation in which equations of state at zero temperature of the nonlinear point-coupling models are directly obtained., Comment: 18 pages. This paper presents a detailed assessment of the ability of the 240 Skyrme interaction parameter sets in the literature to satisfy a series of criteria derived from macroscopic properties of nuclear matter in the vicinity of nuclear saturation density at zero temperature and their density dependence, derived by the liquid drop model, experiments with giant resonances and heavy-ion collisions. The objective is to identify those parameterizations which best satisfy the current understanding of the physics of nuclear matter over a wide range of applications. Out of the 240 models, only 16 are shown to satisfy all these constraints. Additional, more microscopic, constraints on density dependence of the neutron and proton effective mass beta-equilibrium matter, Landau parameters of symmetric and pure neutron nuclear matter, and observational data on high- and low-mass cold neutron stars further reduce this number to 5, a very small group of recommended Skyrme parameterizations to be used in future applications of the Skyrme interaction of nuclear matter related observables. Full information on partial fulfillment of individual constraints by all Skyrme models considered is given. The results are discussed in terms of the physical interpretation of the Skyrme interaction and the validity of its use in mean-field models. Future work on application of the Skyrme forces, selected on the basis of variables of nuclear matter, in Hartree-Fock calculation of properties of finite nuclei, is outlined., Comment: 86 pages, 14 figures

In this work we study the hadron-quark phase transition matching relativistic hadrodynamical mean-field models (in the hadronic phase) with the more updated versions of the Polyakov-Nambu-Jona-Lasinio models (on the quark side). Systematic comparisons are performed showing that the predicted hadronic phases of the matching named as RMF-PNJL, are larger than the confined phase obtained exclusively by the Polyakov quark models. This important result is due to the effect of the nuclear force that causes more resistance of hadronic matter to isothermal compressions. For sake of comparison, we also obtain the matchings of the hadronic models with the MIT bag model, named as RMF-MIT, showing that it presents always larger hadron regions, while shows smaller mixed phases than that obtained from the RMF-PNJL ones. Thus, studies of the confinement transition in nuclear matter, done only with quark models, still need nuclear degrees of freedom to be more reliable in the whole $T\times\mu$ phase diagram., Comment: 31 pages, 8 figures (revtex)
