2. Toughness and distance spectral radius in graphs involving minimum degree

Abstract

The toughness $\tau(G)=\mathrm{min}\{\frac{|S|}{c(G-S)}: S~\mbox{is a cut set of vertices in}~G\}$ for $G\ncong K_n.$ The concept of toughness initially proposed by Chv$\mathrm{\acute{a}}$tal in 1973, which serves as a simple way to measure how tightly various pieces of a graph hold together. A graph $G$ is called $t$-tough if $\tau(G)\geq t.$ It is very interesting to investigate the relations between toughness and eigenvalues of graphs. Fan, Lin and Lu [European J. Combin. 110 (2023) 103701] provided sufficient conditions in terms of the spectral radius for a graph to be 1-tough with minimum degree $\delta$ and $t$-tough with $t\geq 1$ being an integer, respectively. By using some typical distance spectral techniques and structural analysis, we in this paper present sufficient conditions based on the distance spectral radius to guarantee a graph to be 1-tough with minimum degree $\delta.$ Moreover, we also prove sufficient conditions with respect to the distance spectral radius for a graph to be $t$-tough, where $t$ or $\frac{1}{t}$ is a positive integer.

Abstract

In recent years, several video quality assessment (VQA) methods have been developed, achieving high performance. However, these methods were not specifically trained for enhanced videos, which limits their ability to predict video quality accurately based on human subjective perception. To address this issue, we propose a stack-based framework for VQA that outperforms existing state-of-the-art methods on VDPVE, a dataset consisting of enhanced videos. In addition to proposing the VQA framework for enhanced videos, we also investigate its application on professionally generated content (PGC). To address copyright issues with premium content, we create the PGCVQ dataset, which consists of videos from YouTube. We evaluate our proposed approach and state-of-the-art methods on PGCVQ, and provide new insights on the results. Our experiments demonstrate that existing VQA algorithms can be applied to PGC videos, and we find that VQA performance for PGC videos can be improved by considering the plot of a play, which highlights the importance of video semantic understanding., Comment: CVPR NTIRE 2023

Abstract

A fractional matching of a graph $G$ is a function $f:E(G)\rightarrow [0, 1]$ such that for any $v\in V(G)$, $\sum_{e\in E_{G}(v)}f(e)\leq1$, where $E_{G}(v)=\{e\in E(G): e~ \mbox{is incident with} ~v~\mbox{in}~G\}$.The fractional matching number of $G$ is $\mu_{f}(G)=\mathrm{max}\{\sum_{e\in E(G)}f(e):f$ is a fractional matching of $G\}$. Let $k\in (0,n)$ is an integer. In this paper, we prove a tight lower bound of the spectral radius to guarantee $\mu_{f}(G)>\frac{n-k}{2}$ in a graph with minimum degree $\delta,$ which implies the result on the fractional perfect matching due to Fan et al. [Discrete Math. 345 (2022) 112892]. For a set $\{A, B, C, \ldots\}$ of graphs, an $\{A, B, C, \ldots\}$-factor of a graph $G$ is defined to be a spanning subgraph of $G$ each component of which is isomorphic to one of $\{A, B, C, \ldots\}$.We present a tight sufficient condition in terms of the spectral radius for the existence of a $\{K_2, \{C_k\}\}$-factor in a graph with minimum degree $\delta,$ where $k\geq 3$ is an integer. Moreover, we also provide a tight spectral radius condition for the existence of a $\{K_{1, 1}, K_{1, 2}, \ldots , K_{1, k}\}$-factor with $k\geq2$ in a graph with minimum degree $\delta,$ which generalizes the result of Miao et al. 14. Mission-oriented determination of regional weapon maintenance demand in simulation

Abstract

Abstract Determining maintenance demand ahead of mission is crucial to practical weapon maintenance, particularly to regional warship weapon maintenance. Attention is paid only to reliability, and the nature of mission or the consequence of damage is ignored while determining the regional warship weapon maintenance demand. For this reason, a method for determining regional maintenance demand based on simulation is put forward in this paper. Regional weapon maintenance system is first analyzed to build a mission-oriented maintenance demand model with the concept of mission-induced failure. Subsequently, the Anylogic platform is employed because of its advantages including agent modeling simulation and visualized process display. Four types of agent are designed for the regional maintenance system. The process of determining maintenance demand based on simulation is established on this basis. An example is eventually taken to calculate and verify the universality and effectiveness of the simulation model.

Abstract

Aiming to address the fast multi-object tracking for dense small object in the cluster background, we review track orientated multi-hypothesis tracking(TOMHT) with consideration of batch optimization. Employing autocorrelation based motion score test and staged hypotheses merging approach, we build our homologous hypothesis generation and management method. A new one-to-many constraint is proposed and applied to tackle the track exclusions during complex occlusions. Besides, to achieve better results, we develop a multi-appearance segmentation for detection, which exploits tree-like topological information and realizes one threshold for one object. Experimental results verify the strength of our methods, indicating speed and performance advantages of our tracker.

Abstract

In this paper, we will investigate the contribution of color names for the task of salient object detection. An input image is first converted to color name space, which is consisted of 11 probabilistic channels. By exploiting a surroundedness cue, we obtain a saliency map through a linear combination of a set of sequential attention maps. To overcome the limitation of only using the surroundedness cue, two global cues with respect to color names are invoked to guide the computation of a weighted saliency map. Finally, we integrate the above two saliency maps into a unified framework to generate the final result. In addition, an improved post-processing procedure is introduced to effectively suppress image backgrounds while uniformly highlight salient objects. Experimental results show that the proposed model produces more accurate saliency maps and performs well against twenty-one saliency models in terms of three evaluation metrics on three public data sets., Comment: http://www.loujing.com/cns-sod/

Abstract

Light-driven terahertz metasurface-based platforms, characterized by flexible and dynamic characteristics, exhibit significant potential in advancing optics applications. Tremendous effort has been devoted to exploring an effective way to boost the performance of optical elements. However, the typical mechanisms to design superior devices, including the nonlinear plasmonic, local-field construction, and Kerr effect are limited to the narrow working band and single function accompanied by efficiency loss, high-standard machining accuracy, and trade-offs between operating rate and signal-to-noise ratio. Here, a direct, efficient, and universal strategy for boosting the performance of light-driven devices is proposed to overcome these limitations. The performance of tri-function ultrafast switches operating at an ultrafast rate of 2 ps, including broadband single-amplitude modulators as well as decoupled resonant modulation with annihilation and enhancement, is manipulated by adjusting the lattice period. At all operating frequencies, the group delay characteristics are suppressed for high-fidelity communication. Furthermore, the loss-sensitive performance of the proposed metasurfaces, possessing highly precise sensing functions by light-driven calibration, could improve to 5/RIU through lattice enhancement. Thus, this work provides a simple and generalized paradigm for advancing ultrafast integrated optical devices and reusable precise sensors. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
