The effect of the application of salicylic acid (SA) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) was evaluated on sensory quality traits of two commercial sweet bell pepper varieties, Fascinato and Orangela, by descriptive sensory evaluation, principal component analysis (PCA), and Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA). A sensory descriptive lexicon was established for the sweet pepper and an intensity score was assigned for 25 sensory attributes in all the samples. Such intensity score was performed by twelve trained panelists. Among the results it was shown that foliar application of elicitors to pepper crop produced significant differences in sensory traits of the harvested fruits. MANOVA allowed detecting differences in aroma profile among treatments and varieties, showing important changes depending on the combination of elicitors applied on each variety. The principal component analysis (PCA), showed that the PC1 explained 81.02%, while PC2 explained 9.24% of the variance in the results. A strong correlation between varieties and treatments 2 (36 mM H2O2) and 4 (0.1 mM SA and 36 mM H2O2) with PC1 was observed. Treatments 2 and 4 were related to changes in aroma and flavor traits. Fascinato was more susceptible to the effect of elicitor than Orangela. Therefore, elicitor combinations used in this experiment were capable to improve sensory quality of peppers, and not only promote an increase in shelf life as previous studies have shown.

The effects of maturity and vintage on the odor quality and number of odor peaks were studied in Pinot noir wines using the gas chromatography-olfactometry technique. The number of odor-active peaks increased with maturity for the 1987 vintage with fruity and floral as the most commonly used descriptors. The number of odor-active peaks for the 1988 vintage was highest in the late maturity followed by early and middle maturity wines. Comparison of the vintages showed higher number of dried fruit, vegetative, herbal and spicy descriptions for the 1988 vintage which may be influenced by colder climacticconditions during harvesting.

The annual molt of Southern Rockhopper Penguins, Eudyptes chrysocome, usually takes place at their colonies after a pre-molting foraging trip. In 2016, an unusual number of Rockhopper Penguins was found molting, and in part subsequently dying, along the southernmost portion of the Argentine coast, far from the main colonies. To report the extent of this dispersion and mortality event, a survey was conducted between February and May 2016 along the southern Patagonian coast. A total of 1039 molting Rockhopper Penguins were reported. The mortality, mainly attributed to starvation, varied between 40 and 89%, according to sites. Furthermore, as adverse oceanographic conditions are known to affect prey availability and penguin’s survival, chlorophyll a concentrations (as a primary productivity index) and sea surface temperatures were analyzed at main foraging grounds. The results showed lower chlorophyll a and sea surface temperature values close to the main colonies during 2016 (compared to average 2003-2015). Although these values alone cannot explain such mortality (as similar low values already occurred in some of the previous year without inducing mortality events), our results support the hypothesis of a reduction in primary productivity close to the main colonies prior to the molt, inducing penguins to move towards more distant foraging grounds, which finally led them to molt later and away from their colonies. Although the oceanographic processes were not fully understood, this event highlights the serious effects that unusual conditions prior to molting can pose on the survival of this endangered penguin, in a context of climate variability. Approximately 3 million work-related injuries were reported by private industries in 2011, and primary care physicians provided care for approximately one out of four injured workers. To appropriately individualize the treatment of an injured worker and expedite the return to work process, primary care physicians need to be familiar with the workers' compensation system and treatment guidelines. Caring for an injured worker begins with a medical history documenting preexisting medical conditions, use of potentially impairing medications and substances, baseline functional status, and psychosocial factors. An understanding of past and current work tasks is critical and can be obtained through patient-completed forms, job analyses, and the patient's employer. Return to work in some capacity is an important part of the recovery process. It should not be unnecessarily delayed and should be an expected outcome communicated to the patient during the initial visit. Certain medications, such as opioids, may delay the return to work process, and their use should be carefully considered. Scientific evidence suggests that bullying is an increasingly common phenomenon in schools, with a significant number of health consequences. Thus, its prevention should be considered a priority. So as to identify the factors involved in the phenomenon of bullying in schools, a systematic literature review was conducted using the database Biblioteca do Conhecimento Online (b-on) with the following keywords: "bullying/bullying school context", and the following inclusion criteria: participants (5th-9th grade students); variables under analysis (factors inplicated in the phenomenon of bullying), without restrictions related to study design. Three hundred and fifty-one papers were identified, 132 of which were not accessible. Taking into account the inclusion criteria, 203 papers were eliminated, and the remaining 16 were analyzed. From the analysis of the results of the studies included in this literature review, four types of factors emerged: factors related to sociodemographic variables; factors related to personal variables; factors related to the family dimension; and also factors related to school variables.
