Abstract

In this paper we investigate the existence, uniqueness and exponential stability of pseudo almost periodic (PAP-) mild solutions of the parabolic-elliptic (P-E) Keller-Segel system on a bounded domain $\Omega\in \mathbb{R}^n$ with smooth boundary. First, the well-posedness of the corresponding linear system is established by using the smoothing estimates of the Neumann heat semigroup on $\Omega$. Then, the existence of PAP-mild solution of linear system is done by proving a Massera-type principle. Next, we obtain the well-posedness of such solutions for semilinear system by using the results of linear system and fixed point arguments. The exponential stability is proven by using again the estimates of the Neumann heat semigroup. Finally, we discuss also such results for the case of the Keller-Segel system on the framework of real hyperbolic manifolds., Comment: 12 pages

Abstract

In this work we revisit the existence, uniqueness and exponential decay of some classes of mild solutions which are almost periodic (AP-), asymptotically almost periodic (AAP-) and pseudo almost periodic (PAP-) of the scalar Lin\'eard equation by employing the notion of Green function and Massera-type principle. First, by changing variable we convert this equation to a system of first order differential equations. Then, we transform the problem into a framework of an abstract parabolic evolution equation which associates with an evolution family equipped an exponential dichtonomy and the corresponding Green function is exponentially almost periodic. After that, we prove a Massera-type principle that the corresponding linear equation has a uniqueness AP-, AAP- and PAP- mild solution if the right hand side and the coefficient functions are AP-, AAP- and PAP- functions, respectively. The well-posedness of semilinear equation is proved by using fixed point arguments and the exponential decay of mild solutions are obtained by using Gronwall's inequality. Although our work revisits some previous works on well-posedness of the Lin\'eard equation on these type solutions but provide a difference view by using Green function and go farther on the aspects of asymptotic behaviour of solutions and the construction of abstract theory. 5. Investigating Direct Speaking Strategies of Non-English-Majored Students at a University in Dong Nai Province

Abstract

English communication skills are now considered a passport-like requirement for students seeking a secure profession with a higher wage. Additionally, English proficiency is considered one of the variables affecting the success of foreign businesses investing in Vietnam and Vietnamese businesses looking to collaborate internationally to develop their brands into new markets abroad. The integration of various linguistic skills demonstrates the value of speaking. The main objective of this study was to investigate the frequency and importance of using direct speaking strategies by non-English-majored students at Dong Nai Technology University. The study involved 90 second-year undergraduate students at Dong Nai Technology University in Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai province. At the time of the study, the participants were 18-19 and had already attained elementary level. This research uses questionnaires and interviews using the SPSS application to analyze the main points relating to the research questions. According to research, direct speaking strategies significantly affect the English speaking skills of Dong Nai Technology University students. At the same time, the difficulties and orientations when learning speaking skills using direct speaking strategies were revealed in the study's conclusion. To maximize direct speaking strategies and advance the field of study, recommendations have been made for non-English-majored students.

10. Rhetorical Structure Variations in Literature Review Chapters of Applied Linguistics Master's Theses by Iraqi and International Students

Abstract

By employing Chen and Kuo's (2012) framework, this study comparatively investigated the rhetorical differences/similarities existing in the Literature Review chapters of Master of Arts (MA) theses authored by international and Iraqi MA students in the field of applied linguistics. The results showed that almost half of the international LR chapters had Introduction -- Body -- Conclusion progression, but this structure was rare in Iraqi ones. Move 1 (Establishing one part of the territory) was conventional whereas Move 2 and Move 3 were both optional in the corpus. Analysis of steps showed that international students used the step of Related research reviewing more than Iraqi counterparts for the realization of Move 1. International students justified the significance of their study by the step of Gap indication whereas Iraqi students resorted to the step of Concluding one part of the research. Move 3 was commonly occurred by the use of Indicating research aims step in the two sets of LR chapters. Generally, the findings show that, in writing LR chapters, Iraqi MA students attempted to be familiar with their area of research interest rather than to cast their critical approaches to the current status of the established research in the literature. These findings call for a genre-based pedagogy in academic writing to sharpen the awareness of Iraqi MA students of the functions of each move and step in LR chapters in applied linguistics.

Abstract

Nickel-Sepharose (Ni-Sepharose) has been being applied as the most common matrix in purifying His-tag proteins based on the affinity interaction between histidine residues and Ni2+ ion. However, Sepharose still comes at high cost for this purification purpose, especially in developing countries as Vietnam. Here, we show for the first time that melanin from ink sacs of squids which is considered as biowaste in the food industry, can be used as a new potential matrix material instead of Sepharose. We utilized either melanin or melanin charged with metal ions as the stationary phase of affinity purification of His-tag proteins. The results showed that a recombinant His-tag protein VP28 in a protein pool was captured by melanin and Ni2+/Fe3+/Zn2+ chelated melanin. Experiments for releasing VP28 were performed only on the melanin and Ni2+-melanin matrices. The result showed that VP28 was quite selectively eluted when applying elution buffer of 250 mM imidazole overnight. The relative efficiency in releasing VP28 of melanin and Ni-melanin matrices roughly compared to Ni-Sepharose were about 38 and 18% respectively. Further optimization of this process may allow higher efficiency in the purification of His-tag proteins.

50. Synthesis, properties, luminescence of mixed ligands complexes of acetylsalicylate and 1,10-phenantroline with some light rare earth elements

Abstract

Mixed ligands complexes of acetylsalicylic and 1,10-phenantroline of Ln(III) with the general formula Ln(AcSa)3(Phen).3H2O (Ln: Nd, Sm, Eu; AcSa-: Acetylsalicylate, Phen: 1,10-phenantroline) have been prepared. The characterization of these complexes have been studied by IR, thermal analysis and mass-spectroscopy methods; The luminescence of complexes was investigated by measuring the excitation and emission spectra. IR spectra suggest that complexes have been synthesised successfully. Mass-spectroscopy showed that the complexes are monomes and they are stable. The intramolecular ligand-to-rare earth energy transfer mechanisms were discussed. The emission spectra of Eu(AcSa)3(Phen).3H2O consist of the 5D0 → 7F2 and 5D0 → 7F1 dominant transitions located at 614 nm and 593 nm, the weaker 5D0 → 7F4 transition located at 699 nm, the weakest 5D0 → 7F3 transition located at 654 nm. The emission spectra of the Sm(AcSa)3(Phen).3H2O displayed three bands, in there, the 4G5/2 – 6H7/2 and 4G5/2 – 6H9/2 equivalent transitions located at 599 nm and 645 nm, the weakest 4G5/2 – 6H5/2 transition located at 564 nm. The emission spectra of the Nd(AcSa)3Phen.3H2O displayed one band at 440 nm, i.e. 4F3/2 – 4I9/2 energy level of Nd3+ was observed. These complexes showed room-temperature photoluminescence
