Debido a los problemas de producción de semiconductores que vivimos actualmente, ha salido a la luz la importancia de los sistemas embebidos en muchos aspectos de la economía y su gran impacto en la sociedad. Con el objetivo de idear una nueva plataforma de microcontroladores se ha realizado el diseño y la simulación de un microprocesador para sistemas embebidos que utiliza el juego de Instrucciones open-source RISC-V. El proyecto incluye una introducción con un pequeño estado del Arte en materia de ISAs, una explicación profunda del funcionamiento del juego de Instrucciones RISC-V y un análisis de su situación actual mostrando diferentes empresas que han apostado por esta tecnología. En cuanto al desarrollo en cuestión, se han implementado 8 instrucciones con 4 formatos de Instrucción diferentes. Todos los componentes se han desarrollado utilizando el lenguaje de descripción hardware VHDL y simulado para comprobar su correcto funcionamiento. En este documento se muestra tanto las partes más relevantes del código de cada uno de los componentes como las simulaciones realizadas de cada uno de ellos. También se han realizado 2 simulaciones para mostrar el funcionamiento de las instrucciones implementadas. Finalmente, se han planteado los diferentes desafíos en materia Social, Ética, Legal y, sobre todo, Medio Ambiental a los que se enfrenta este tipo de desarrollos. Innicia es la incubadora de negocios de la Universidad Católica de Santa María, cuyo objetivo es impulsar el emprendimiento en los estudiantes de la universidad y ayudarlos en el desarrollo de sus proyectos. La presente campaña de relanzamiento surge de la necesidad de contrarrestar el desconocimiento de la marca Innicia dentro del campus de la Universidad Católica de Santa María. Posterior a un estudio (Ver Anexo 1) del público objetivo y de la marca, se determinó lo siguiente:  El lanzamiento de la marca no fue desarrollado por un especialista en la materia, por ende, las acciones desarrolladas no tuvieron impacto en el público objetivo.  Se detectó que el 80% del público objetivo no conoce la marca.  Existe un interés del 75% en el público objetivo, por temas de emprendimiento y negocio propio. La propuesta de un relanzamiento de campaña busca resolver la problemática anteriormente mencionada y aprovechar el mercado que existe dentro de la universidad. Con una imagen renovada y un discurso claro, se espera poder comunicar a los estudiantes sobre la existencia de la incubadora de negocios y sus beneficios para así, impulsar el emprendimiento entre los estudiantes de la Universidad Católica de Santa María.

El presente trabajo de tesis tiene el objetivo principal de reconectar al cliente con la marca Tochero Tours, la estrategia a emplearse será a través de una actualización para su identidad visual, la incorporación y la implementación al mundo digital, así como también el lanzamiento de una campaña que cumplirá con las necesidades de la empresa. La marca Tochero Tours cuenta con 22 años en el mercado durante los cuales logró tener una gran acogida en el mercado americano entre los años 1996 y 2009, específicamente en Springs - Colorado-USA, gracias al WOM; con un servicio diferente e innovador como lo es el turismo de inmersión. Sin embargo, con el pasar del tiempo no consiguió adaptarse a los constantes cambios y avances tecnológicos sino hasta el 2019, año en el cual la empresa decidió realizar un cambio y proyectar una nueva imagen inspirada en Cusco - Perú. En esta tesis se presenta la investigación realizada respecto a la situación actual de marca, partiendo de un análisis visual, segmentación, entorno respecto a la competencia y diagnóstico, el cual es clave para dar solución al problema identificado. Por lo tanto, al elegir una campaña de relanzamiento buscamos aprovechar la oportunidad del mercado en Denver; a la misma vez conseguir renovar su imagen corporativa, para obtener un posicionamiento ideal y sobretodo reforzar su ventaja competitiva que es el turismo inmersión.

The European beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) occurs in the Cantabrian Range (NW Spain), at the southwestern limit of the wide distribution area of the species in Europe, forming relatively unmanaged forests of high biodiversity value. In this study, we measured three-dimensional positions, diameter at breast height and height of all the trees present in 112 inventory plots established in beech-dominated forests in the north-western Cantabrian Range, in which hemispherical photographs were taken and a detailed floristic inventory was carried out. In addition, we measured 56 spatially continuous environmental variables in each plot to enable examination of environmental patterns in structural features and prediction of the effects of climate change. Forest structure was analyzed by using indices that evaluated spatial tree distribution, plant richness and tree species diversity, diversity of tree dimensions and vertical structure, stand density and average tree size, standing deadwood, canopy geometry and light regime. The stands exhibited a moderate clustered spatial arrangement at young stages, becoming more regular as they matured. The stands are generally monospecific, with low plant richness, never monostratified, with very close canopies, greater variation in diameter than in height and are usually overstocked. Only 25% of the stands included some standing dead trees. Random Forest models were used to describe structural features as a function of environmental variables. Although some of the models were complex and included many predictor variables, they revealed some interesting patterns. Thus, we found that spatial tree distribution was only related to lithostratigraphy, and tree species richness and vertical structure were related to isothermality. In this study, data from the 4th National Forest Inventory (IFN-4) and from the 1st and 2nd National Airborne Laser Exploration Survey (ALS) are used to develop predictive performance models and direct estimates for the three main commercial forest species (Eucalyptus globulus, Pinus pinasterand Pinus radiata) grown in the province of Lugo. The integration of both types of data required prior harmonization due to the differences in the time of data acquisition and the difficulties to accurately geolocate the IFN-4 plots. The harmonized data of E. globulus, P.pinaster and P.radiata have been used to develop predictive models to determine the total volume with cortex (VCC) at a point t different from the capture of the PNOA-LiDAR data. The annual increase in volume with cortex (IAVC) was calculated by means of the relationship between the variables of the IFN4 plots, with the metrics derived from the PNOA-LiDAR data, by the Random Forest (RF) linear regression method and several techniques of machine learning. These data are also used to obtain VCC values directly using multi-temporal PNOA-LiDAR data, the latter being captured at the projection time t of the other method., El cálculo de volúmenes forestales es una de las aplicaciones más comunes de la teledetección para apoyar la gestión sostenible de los ecosistemas forestales. En este estudio, se utilizan datos del 4º Inventario Forestal Nacional (IFN-4) y de la 1ª y 2ª encuesta nacional de Exploración Láser Aerotransportada (ALS) para desarrollar modelos de rendimiento predictivo y estimaciones directas para las tres principales especies forestales comerciales (Eucalyptus globulus, Pinus pinaster y Pinus radiata) cultivadas en la provincia de Lugo. La integración de ambos tipos de datos requirió una armonización previa debido a las diferencias en el tiempo de adquisición de los datos y las dificultades para geolocalizar con precisión las parcelas del IFN-4. Los datos armonizados de E. globulus, P. pinaster y P. radiata se han utilizado para desarrollar modelos predictivos para determinar el volumen total con corteza (VCC) en un punto t diferente del de captura de los datos PNOA-LiDAR. Se ha calculado el incremento anual de volumen con corteza (IAVC) mediante la relación entre las variables de las parcelas IFN-4, con las métricas derivadas de los datos de PNOA-LiDAR, mediante el método de regresión lineal Random Forest (RF) y varias técnicas de aprendizaje automático. Estos datos también se utilizan para obtener valores VCC de forma directa mediante datos PNOA-LiDAR multitemporales, siendo estos últimos capturados en el tiempo t de proyección del otro método.

Este proyecto tiene como objetivo diseñar una cortina cortafuegos que reciba la certificación EI sin necesidad de un sistema de irrigación que rocíe agua al tejido. Esta certificación EI implica que el tejido mantiene tanto su integridad como un aislamiento térmico ante la presencia de un incendio. Se ha usado como referencia la cortina cortafuegos INTISI 7 EI120, de la empresa española del sector contra incendios INTISI S.Ld. Se han diseñado los componentes y se han realizado simulaciones usando el software SolidWorks. Se ha realizado una comparación de costes entre esta cortina y el producto actual de la empresa INTISI, y se ha comprobado que es una alternativa viable con un coste global menor y mejor recibido por los clientes al no necesitar de un sistema de irrigación.

Lack of knowledge of individual tree growth in species-rich, mixed forest ecosystems impedes their sustainable management. In this study, species-specific models for predicting individual diameter at breast height (dbh) and total tree height (h) growth were developed for 30 tree species growing in mixed and uneven-aged forest stands in Durango, Mexico. Growth models were also developed for all pine, all oaks, and all other species of the genus Arbutus (strawberry trees). A database of 55,158 trees with remeasurements of dbh and h of a 5-year growth period was used to develop the models. The data were collected from 217 stem-mapped plots located in the Sierra Madre Occidental (Mexico). Weighted regression was used to remove heteroscedasticity from the species-specific dbh and h growth models using a power function of the tree size independent variables. The final models developed in the present study to predict dbh and total tree height growth included size variables, site factors, and competition variables in their formulation. The developed models fitted the data well and explained between 98 and 99% and of the observed variation of dbh, and between 77 and 98% of the observed variation of total tree height for the studied species and groups of species. The developed models can be used for estimating the individual dbh and h growth for the analyzed species and can be integrated in decision support tools for management planning in these mixed forest ecosystems

Background: Understanding the temporal patterns of fire occurrence and their relationships with fuel dryness is key to sound fire management, especially under increasing global warming. At present, no system for prediction of fire occurrence risk based on fuel dryness conditions is available in Mexico. As part of an ongoing national-scale project, we developed an operational fire risk mapping tool based on satellite and weather information. Results: We demonstrated how differing monthly temporal trends in a fuel greenness index, dead ratio (DR), and fire density (FDI) can be clearly differentiated by vegetation type and region for the whole country, using MODIS satellite observations for the period 2003 to 2014. We tested linear and non-linear models, including temporal autocorrelation terms, for prediction of FDI from DR for a total of 28 combinations of vegetation types and regions. In addition, we developed seasonal autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) models for forecasting DR values based on the last observed values. Most ARIMA models showed values of the adjusted coefficient of determination (R2 adj) above 0.7 to 0.8, suggesting potential to forecast fuel dryness and fire occurrence risk conditions. The best fitted models explained more than 70% of the observed FDI variation in the relation between monthly DR and fire density. Conclusion: These results suggest that there is potential for the DR index to be incorporated in future fire risk operational tools. However, some vegetation types and regions show lower correlations between DR and observed fire density, suggesting that other variables, such as distance and timing of agricultural burn, deserve attention in future studies, Antecedentes: Una adecuada planificación del manejo del fuego requiere de la comprensión de los patrones temporales de humedad del combustible y su influencia en el riesgo de incendio, particularmente bajo un escenario de calentamiento global. En la actualidad en México no existe ningún sistema operacional para la predicción del riesgo de incendio en base al grado de estrés hídrico de los combustibles. Un proyecto de investigación nacional actualmente en funcionamiento, tiene como objetivo el desarrollo de un sistema operacional de riesgo y peligro de incendio en base a información meteorológica y de satélite para México. Este estudio pertenece al citado proyecto Resultados: Se observaron en el país distintas tendencias temporales en un índice de estrés hídrico de los combustibles basado en imágenes MODIS, el índice “dead ratio” (DR), y en las tendencias temporales de un ìndice de densidad de incendios (FDI), en distintos tipos de vegetación y regiones del país. Se evaluaron varios modelos lineales y potenciales, incluyendo términos para la consideración de la autocorrelación temporal, para la predicción de la densidad de incendios a partir del índice DR para un total de 28 tipos de vegetación y regiones. Se desarrollaron además modelos estacionales autoregresivos de media móvil (ARIMA en inglés) para el pronóstico del índice DR a partir de los últimos valores observados. La mayoría de los modelos ARIMA desarrollados mostraron valores del coeficiente de determinación ajustado (R2 adj) por encima de 0.7 to 0.8, sugiriendo potencial para ser empleados para un pronóstico del estrés hídrico de los combustibles y las condiciones de riesgo de ocurrencia de incendio. Con respecto a los modelos que relacionan los valores mensuales de DR con FDI, la mayoría de ellos explicaron más del 70% de la variabilidad observada en FDI. The survival of an increasing number of species is threatened by climate change: 20%–30% of plants and animals seem to be at risk of range shift or extinction if global warming reaches levels projected to occur by the end of this century. Plant range shifts may determine whether animal species that rely on plant availability for food and shelter will be affected by new patterns of plant occupancy and availability. Brown bears in temperate forested habitats mostly forage on plants and it may be expected that climate change will affect the viability of the endangered populations of southern Europe. Here, we assess the potential impact of climate change on seven plants that represent the main food resources and shelter for the endangered population of brown bears in the Cantabrian Mountains (Spain). Our simulations suggest that the geographic range of these plants might be altered under future climate warming, with most bear resources reducing their range. As a consequence, this brown bear population is expected to decline drastically in the next 50 years. Range shifts of brown bear are also expected to displace individuals from mountainous areas towards more humanized ones, where we can expect an increase in conflicts and bear mortality rates. Additional negative effects might include: (a) a tendency to a more carnivorous diet, which would increase conflicts with cattle farmers; (b) limited fat storage before hibernation due to the reduction of oak forests; (c) increased intraspecific competition with other acorn consumers, that is, wild ungulates and free-ranging livestock; and (d) larger displacements between seasons to find main trophic resources. The magnitude of the changes projected by our models emphasizes that conservation practices focused only on bears may not be appropriate and thus we need more dynamic conservation planning aimed at reducing the impact of climate change in forested landscapes.

The location of the high mountains of southern Europe has been crucial in the phylogeography of most European species, but how extrinsic (topography of sky islands) and intrinsic features (dispersal dynamics) have interacted to shape the genetic structure in alpine restricted species is still poorly known. Here we investigated the mechanisms explaining the colonisation of Cantabrian sky islands in an endemic flightless grasshopper. We scrutinised the maternal genetic variability and haplotype structure, and we evaluated the fitting of two migration models to understand the extant genetic structure in these populations: Long-distance dispersal (LDD) and gradual distance dispersal (GDD). We found that GDD fits the real data better than the LDD model, with an onset of the expansion matching postglacial expansions after the retreat of the ice sheets. Our findings suggest a scenario with small carrying capacity, migration rates, and population growth rates, being compatible with a slow dispersal process. The gradual expansion process along the Cantabrian sky islands found here seems to be conditioned by the suitability of habitats and the presence of alpine corridors. Our findings shed light on our understanding about how organisms which have adapted to live in alpine habitats with limited dispersal abilities have faced new and suitable environmental conditions.
