4. Variable-Based Fault Localization via Enhanced Decision Tree

Abstract

Fault localization, aiming at localizing the root cause of the bug under repair, has been a longstanding research topic. Although many approaches have been proposed in the last decades, most of the existing studies work at coarse-grained statement or method levels with very limited insights about how to repair the bug (granularity problem), but few studies target the finer-grained fault localization. In this paper, we target the granularity problem and propose a novel finer-grained variable-level fault localization technique. Specifically, we design a program-dependency-enhanced decision tree model to boost the identification of fault-relevant variables via discriminating failed and passed test cases based on the variable values. To evaluate the effectiveness of our approach, we have implemented it in a tool called VARDT and conducted an extensive study over the Defects4J benchmark. The results show that VARDT outperforms the state-of-the-art fault localization approaches with at least 247.8% improvements in terms of bugs located at Top-1, and the average improvements are 330.5%. Besides, to investigate whether our finer-grained fault localization result can further improve the effectiveness of downstream APR techniques, we have adapted VARDT to the application of patch filtering, where VARDT outperforms the state-of-the-art PATCH-SIM by filtering 26.0% more incorrect patches. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach and it also provides a new way of thinking for improving automatic program repair techniques.

5. Potential molecular mechanism of celery seed in gout treatment of network pharmacology with molecular docking

Abstract

Objective: To study the molecular mechanism of celery seed inhibiting or treating gout by using network pharmacology and molecular docking. Methods: TCMSP database and the network maps were constructed with Cytoscape3.9.0 software. Gout-related targets were collected in GeneCard database and OMIM database, crossed with the main component targets of celery seed and imported into STRING database for protein-protein interaction （protein-protein interaction, PPI） analysis, core targets were obtained, core targets were introduced into DAVID, and GO function enrichment and KEGG pathway enrichment were performed in the database. Finally, AutoDock software was used to verify the key components with key targets. Results: There were 16 main components of celery seeds, 69 common targets. After topological analysis, quercetin, apigenin, luteolin, celery, five core components and 10 key targets of gout TNF, MAPK14, IL4, CXCL8, LYN, PDGFRβ, HCK, VEGFA, ITGA, IL2, were closely involved in inhibiting or treating gout. The results of GO and KEGG analysis showed that the core components of celery seed acted through regulating biological processes such as apoptosis, proliferation and migration, and through PI3K-Akt signaling pathway, IL-17 signaling pathway, MAPK signaling pathway, and NF-κB signaling pathway. The molecular docking results showed that the five core components were closely bound to the 10 key target proteins with high confidence, verifying the accuracy of the network pharmacology prediction results. Conclusion: This study reveals the role of celery seed in inhibiting or treating gout, and lays a foundation for the development of single Chinese herbal medicine and the study of "medicine and food homology" to control metabolic diseases.

41. Effect of Ganglioside combined with pramexol in the treatment of Parkinson's disease and its effect on motor function

Abstract

Background: This study was aimed to evaluate the efficacy of pramipexole combined with ganglioside for PD treatment and pramipexole monotherapy, so as to provide reference for clinical practice. Methods: 61 PD patients selected from June 2019 to December 2020 at our hospital were divided into two groups. The control group (n=31) was given dopasizide oral treatment, and the treatment group (n=30) was given ganglioside combined with pramipexole. The clinical efficacy, adverse reactions, motor function scores, UPDRS scores, PDQ-39 scale scores, TNF-a levels, and related serum factor levels were measured in this study. Results: Compared with control group, the total effective rate was obviously increased. The CRP and TNF-a levels, the speech tone and speed, sitting and walking posture, writing and hands ability scores were reduced, while the BDNF level was increased in treatment group. During the period, compared with the control group, the incidence of adverse reactions in the treatment group was significantly decreased. Conclusion: Ganglioside combined with pramipexole were effective in treating PD. It can effectively reduce the levels of CRP and TNF-a, increase the level of BDNF, improve neurological function, improve motor function, and does not increase the adverse reactions of patients. It is worthy of application.
