Abstract

Let $\sigma=\{\sigma_{i}|i\in I\}$ be a partition of the set of all primes $\mathbb{P}$, $G$ a finite group and $\sigma(G)=\{\sigma_{i}|\sigma_{i}\cap \pi(|G|)\neq\emptyset\}$. A subgroup $S$ of a group $G$ is called a $\sigma_i$-sylowizer of a $\sigma_i$-subgroup $R$ in $G$ if $S$ is maximal in $G$ with respect to having $R$ as its Hall $\sigma_i$-subgroup. The main aim of this paper is to investigate the influence of $\sigma_i$-sylowizers on the structure of finite groups. We obtained some new characterizations of supersoluble groups by the permutability of the $\sigma_i$-sylowizers of some $\sigma_i$-subgroups.

19. Sequential Monitoring of Changes in Housing Prices

Abstract

We propose a sequential monitoring scheme to find structural breaks in real estate markets. The changes in the real estate prices are modeled by a combination of linear and autoregressive terms. The monitoring scheme is based on a detector and a suitably chosen boundary function. If the detector crosses the boundary function, a structural break is detected. We provide the asymptotics for the procedure under the stability null hypothesis and the stopping time under the change point alternative. Monte Carlo simulation is used to show the size and the power of our method under several conditions. We study the real estate markets in Boston, Los Angeles and at the national U.S. level. We find structural breaks in the markets, and we segment the data into stationary segments. Abstract

Investors cannot anticipate a return reversal in the stock market. Therefore, choosing the optimal time to buy and hold a stock is vital. This paper formulates a disorder problem using the optimal stopping theory to study the optimal time to buy and hold a stock when a downward trend is about to reverse. The results show that investors should buy a stock when the conditional probability of a return reversal hits an optimal boundary for the first time. The optimal boundary is uniquely determined by the stock return, volatility, and the intensity of return reversal. Moreover, the optimal boundary decreases as the stock volatility and the intensity of return reversal increase. We use the China Securities Index 300 (CSI 300), Standard & Poor's 500 (S&P 500), Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), and Russell 2000 indexes to estimate the parameters and the related optimal boundary. Abstract

Lysine lactylation (Kla) plays a vital role in several physiological processes. However, the cancer‐specific modulation of Kla in gastrointestinal (GI) tumors requires systematic elucidation. Here, global lactylome profiling of cancerous and adjacent tissues is conducted from 40 patients with GI cancer and identified 11698 Kla sites. Lactylome integration revealed that Kla affects proteins involved in hallmark cancer processes, including epigenetic rewiring, metabolic perturbations, and genome instability. Moreover, the study revealed pan‐cancer patterns of Kla alterations, among which 37 Kla sites are consistently upregulated in all four GI cancers and are involved in gene regulation. It is further verified that lactylation of CBX3 at K10 mediates its interaction of CBX3 with the epigenetic marker H3K9me3 and facilitates GI cancer progression. Overall, this study provides an invaluable resource for understanding the lactylome landscape in GI cancers, which may provide new paths for drug discovery for these devastating diseases.
