This study delves into the characteristics and emotional dimensions of New Chinglish, scrutinizing its expressive connotations. By examining the inner architecture of an emotion computation model, we propose a multi-layered cognitive affective computing model. This model integrates personality traits, mood states, and emotional conditions to refine the mapping relationship between PAD mood states and emotional responses. We introduce this multi-layer cognitive model as a novel method for preference mining, integrated with multi-objective decision-making processes. Additionally, we investigate the reception of New Chinglish among Chinese college students by examining various layers of engagement. We categorize the emotional types of New Chinglish utilizing the affective computing model, explore the students’ reception towards positive or negative expressions, and analyze preference patterns based on the attributes of New Chinglish. The findings indicate a favorable overall acceptance of New Chinglish among Chinese college students, with average scores for usage attitude and behavioral intention being 3.215 and 3.236, respectively. The three most favored aspects are humor (2.7986), phonetic appeal (2.5805), and innovativeness (2.4325).

Photocatalytic membranes offer an effective strategy to overcome the difficulties of solid-liquid separation and secondary contamination of powdered photocatalysts. MXene is a 2D material of layered Ti3C2, which is considered to limit electron-hole separation and contribute to photocatalysis. In this work, the etched Ti3C2 MXene was loaded on the surface of ceramic membranes using polydopamine (PDA) as a binder, followed by one-step calcination to produce TiO2 nanoparticles (NPs) in situ. The characterizations supported that the TiO2/Ti3C2 ceramic membranes had high mechanical strength while retaining the layered structure of Ti3C2, which was conducive to the inhibition of electron and hole complexation, improving the photocatalytic performance. Degradation experiments revealed that the material showed enhanced degradation of pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) such as ciprofloxacin (CIP), tetracycline (TCN) and ibuprofen (IBP). The LC-MS and toxicity prediction models indicated that the developmental toxicity of CIP degradation products decreased with prolonged photocatalytic reaction, exhibiting no acute toxicity to fish. The MT650 exhibited significantly enhanced water flux properties (320 L/(m2·h)). In mammals, primordial germ cells (PGCs) are the embryonic cell population that serve as germ cell precursors in both females and males. During mouse embryonic development, the majority of PGCs are arrested at the G2 phase when they migrate into the hindgut at 7.75-8.75 dpc (days post coitum). It is after 9.5 dpc that the PGCs undergo proliferation with a doubling time of 12.6 h. The molecular mechanisms underlying PGC proliferation are however not well studied. In this work. Here we studied how MASTL (microtubule-associated serine/threonine kinase-like)/Greatwall kinase regulates the rapid proliferation of PGCs. We generated a mouse model where we specifically deleted Mastl in PGCs and found a significant loss of PGCs before the onset of meiosis in female PGCs. We further revealed that the deletion of Mastl in PGCs did not prevent mitotic entry, but led to a failure of the cells to proceed beyond metaphase-like stage, indicating that MASTL-mediated molecular events are indispensable for anaphase entry in PGCs. These mitotic defects further led to the death of Mastl-null PGCs by 12.5 dpc. Moreover, the defect in mitotic progression observed in the Mastl-null PGCs was rescued by simultaneous deletion of Ppp2r1a (α subunit of PP2A). Thus, our results demonstrate that MASTL, PP2A, and therefore regulated phosphatase activity have a fundamental role in establishing female germ cell population in gonads by controlling PGC proliferation during embryogenesis.

Electron cyclotron harmonic (ECH) waves are electrostatic emissions with frequencies between the harmonics of the electron gyrofrequencies. Their frequency properties provide clues for understanding their generation and are keys to evaluating their scattering efficiency. Based on Magnetospheric Multiscale satellite observations, we explored the statistical frequency properties of first‐harmonic band ECH waves in the outer magnetosphere. The frequencies at the peak power of ECH waves are found to be day‐night and dawn‐dusk asymmetries, with higher values in the regions from dawn to post‐noon, and these asymmetries are more evident during weaker geomagnetic activity. Furthermore, the frequencies at the peak power of ECH waves decrease gradually with increasing |MLAT| and are positively correlated with their amplitudes at each magnetic local time or |MLAT|. Information on the frequency properties of ECH waves presented in this study can be crucial for future modeling of their contributions to magnetospheric electron dynamics. They act as major contributors to the generation of diffuse auroras in the outer magnetosphere via the pitch angle scattering of plasma sheet electrons into the atmosphere. Theoretically, such electron scattering can be quantified by quasilinear scattering rates, which are strongly controlled by the wave frequency. However, the current knowledge of their frequency properties is lacking. In this study, we statistically analyze the frequency properties of the first‐harmonic band ECH waves in the outer magnetosphere using Magnetospheric Multiscale satellite observations. The statistical results show that the wave frequency at peak power highly depends on the magnetic local time (MLT), magnetic latitude (MLAT), and wave amplitude. These new findings are of great importance in advancing our knowledge of ECH wave generation and in modeling ECH‐induced plasma sheet electron dynamics in the outer magnetosphere. Extracting the useful information has been used almost everywhere in many fields of mathematics and applied mathematics. It is a classical ill-posed problem due to the unstable dependence of approximations on small perturbation of the data. The traditional regularization methods depend on the choice of the regularization parameter, which are closely related to an available accurate upper bound of noise level; thus it is not appropriate for the randomly distributed noise with big or unknown variance. In this paper, a purely data driven statistical regularization method is proposed, effectively extracting the information from randomly noisy observations. The rigorous upper bound estimation of confidence interval of the error in L 2 norm is established, and some numerical examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness and computational performance of the method. Near-natural transformation can convert artificial monoculture forests into mixed forests with diverse ages, multi-layered structures, and enhanced ecological functions. This transformation optimizes stand structure, improves soil physical and chemical properties, and enhances stand productivity and species diversity. This study aimed to explore the relationship between the underground roots and aboveground growth of Pinus tabuliformis and Populus tomentosa under conditions of nutrient heterogeneity, with the goal of advancing plantation transformation. This research focused on 1-year-old Populus tomentosa and 5-year-old Pinus tabuliformis, employing two planting densities (25 cm and 50 cm) and three fertilization levels, low (50 g·m−2), medium (100 g·m−2), and high (200 g·m−2), using Stanley Potassium sulfate complex fertilizer (N:P:K = 15:15:15). Each treatment had three replicates, resulting in a total of nine experimental groups, all planted in circular plots with a radius of 1 m. Standard major axis (SMA) regression was used to analyze the allometric relationship between underground fine root biomass and aboveground organ biomass. This study further explored correlations between fine root length, root surface area, volume, biomass, and aboveground biomass, culminating in a mixed-effects model. The mixed-effects model quantified the relationships between underground roots and aboveground growth in varying soil nutrient environments. The results indicated optimal root growth in Populus tomentosa and Pinus tabuliformis, characterized by maximum root length, surface area, and volume, under conditions of 200 g·m−2 soil nutrient concentration and 50 cm planting distance; Populus tomentosa fine roots had a vertical center at a depth of 8.5 cm, whereas Pinus tabuliformis roots were centered at depths of 5–7.5 cm, indicating differing competitive strategies. Pinus tabuliformis exhibited competitive superiority in the soil's surface layer, in contrast to Populus tomentosa, which thrived in deeper layers. The study of the allometric growth model revealed that under conditions where the nutrient gradient was 200 g·m−2 and the planting distance was 25 cm, Populus tomentosa demonstrated its highest allometric growth index (2.801), indicative of positive allometric growth. Furthermore, there was a notable inclination of resource allocation towards the aboveground, which enhances the accumulation of aboveground biomass. The mixed-effects model equation showed a clear linear relationship between underground roots and aboveground biomass. The final fitting coefficient of the model was high, providing a robust theoretical basis for future management practices. The mixed-effects model revealed the following hierarchy of fixed-effect coefficients for root system characteristics affecting aboveground biomass: fine root volume (132.11) > fine root biomass (6.462) > root surface area (−4.053) > fine root length (0.201). In subsequent plantation reconstruction and forest management, increasing soil fertility and planting distance can promote the growth of underground roots and biomass accumulation. Appropriately increasing soil fertility and reducing planting distance can effectively promote aboveground biomass accumulation, achieving sustainable forest development. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
