Large language models (LLMs) have demonstrated notable potential in conducting complex tasks and are increasingly utilized in various financial applications. However, high-quality sequential financial investment decision-making remains challenging. These tasks require multiple interactions with a volatile environment for every decision, demanding sufficient intelligence to maximize returns and manage risks. Although LLMs have been used to develop agent systems that surpass human teams and yield impressive investment returns, opportunities to enhance multi-sourced information synthesis and optimize decision-making outcomes through timely experience refinement remain unexplored. Here, we introduce the FinCon, an LLM-based multi-agent framework with CONceptual verbal reinforcement tailored for diverse FINancial tasks. Inspired by effective real-world investment firm organizational structures, FinCon utilizes a manager-analyst communication hierarchy. This structure allows for synchronized cross-functional agent collaboration towards unified goals through natural language interactions and equips each agent with greater memory capacity than humans. Additionally, a risk-control component in FinCon enhances decision quality by episodically initiating a self-critiquing mechanism to update systematic investment beliefs. The conceptualized beliefs serve as verbal reinforcement for the future agent's behavior and can be selectively propagated to the appropriate node that requires knowledge updates. This feature significantly improves performance while reducing unnecessary peer-to-peer communication costs. We propose a hidden convexity-based method to address distributed optimal energy flow (OEF) problems for transmission-level integrated electricity-gas systems. First, we develop a node-wise decoupling method to de-compose an OEF problem into multiple OEF subproblems. Then, we propose a hidden convexity-based method to equivalently reformulate nonconvex OEF subproblems as semi-definite programs. This method differs from any ap-proximation and convexification methods that may incur infeasible solutions. Since all OEF subproblems are origi-nally convex or equivalently convexified, we adopt an ADMM to solve the hidden convexity-based distributed OEF problem with convergence analysis. 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) has recently advanced radiance field reconstruction by offering superior capabilities for novel view synthesis and real-time rendering speed. However, its strategy of blending optimization and adaptive density control might lead to sub-optimal results; it can sometimes yield noisy geometry and blurry artifacts due to prioritizing optimizing large Gaussians at the cost of adequately densifying smaller ones. To address this, we introduce AtomGS, consisting of Atomized Proliferation and Geometry-Guided Optimization. The Atomized Proliferation constrains ellipsoid Gaussians of various sizes into more uniform-sized Atom Gaussians. The strategy enhances the representation of areas with fine features by placing greater emphasis on densification in accordance with scene details. In addition, we proposed a Geometry-Guided Optimization approach that incorporates an Edge-Aware Normal Loss. This optimization method effectively smooths flat surfaces while preserving intricate details. Our evaluation shows that AtomGS outperforms existing state-of-the-art methods in rendering quality. Additionally, it achieves competitive accuracy in geometry reconstruction and offers a significant improvement in training speed over other SDF-based methods. Weakly supervised surgical instrument segmentation with only instrument presence labels has been rarely explored in surgical domain. To mitigate the highly under-constrained challenges, we extend a two-stage weakly supervised segmentation paradigm with temporal attributes from two perspectives. From a temporal equivariance perspective, we propose a prototype-based temporal equivariance regulation loss to enhance pixel-wise consistency between adjacent features. From a semantic continuity perspective, we propose a class-aware temporal semantic continuity loss to constrain the semantic consistency between a global view of target frame and local non-discriminative regions of adjacent reference frame. To the best of our knowledge, WeakSurg is the first instrument-presence-only weakly supervised segmentation architecture to take temporal information into account for surgical scenarios. Extensive experiments are validated on Cholec80, an open benchmark for phase and instrument recognition. We annotate instance-wise instrument labels with fixed time-steps which are double checked by a clinician with 3-years experience. Our results show that WeakSurg compares favorably with state-of-the-art methods not only on semantic segmentation metrics but also on instance segmentation metrics.

This paper adopts a two-stage sample robust optimization (SRO) model to address the wind power penetrated unit commitment optimal energy flow (UC-OEF) problem for IEGSs. The two-stage SRO model can be approximately transformed into a computationally efficient form. Specifically, we employ linear decision rules to simplify the proposed UC-OEF model. We investigate load redistribution (LR) attacks on integrated electricity-gas systems (IEGSs) and proposes a bilevel mixed-integer model to identify the most severe LR attack from an economic perspective. Under a mild assumption, we prove that the proposed model does not exclude any possible upper-level attack. A modified reformulation and decomposition (R&D) algorithm is developed to solve this model in a master-subproblem framework. Particularly, we design a subproblem to address infeasibility issues in the master problem. This work studies the modeling of false data injection attacks (FDIAs) on IEGSs. First, we introduce a static state estimation model and bad data detection method for IEGSs. Then, we develop FDIAs on IEGSs with complete network topology and parameter information. Recent advancements in Large Language Models (LLMs) have exhibited notable efficacy in question-answering (QA) tasks across diverse domains. Their prowess in integrating extensive web knowledge has fueled interest in developing LLM-based autonomous agents. While LLMs are efficient in decoding human instructions and deriving solutions by holistically processing historical inputs, transitioning to purpose-driven agents requires a supplementary rational architecture to process multi-source information, establish reasoning chains, and prioritize critical tasks. Addressing this, we introduce \textsc{FinMem}, a novel LLM-based agent framework devised for financial decision-making. It encompasses three core modules: Profiling, to customize the agent's characteristics; Memory, with layered message processing, to aid the agent in assimilating hierarchical financial data; and Decision-making, to convert insights gained from memories into investment decisions. Notably, \textsc{FinMem}'s memory module aligns closely with the cognitive structure of human traders, offering robust interpretability and real-time tuning. Its adjustable cognitive span allows for the retention of critical information beyond human perceptual limits, thereby enhancing trading outcomes. This framework enables the agent to self-evolve its professional knowledge, react agilely to new investment cues, and continuously refine trading decisions in the volatile financial environment. We first compare \textsc{FinMem} with various algorithmic agents on a scalable real-world financial dataset, underscoring its leading trading performance in stocks. We then fine-tuned the agent's perceptual span and character setting to achieve a significantly enhanced trading performance. Collectively, \textsc{FinMem} presents a cutting-edge LLM agent framework for automated trading, boosting cumulative investment returns.

We have revisited the spin dynamics in intermediate-energy heavy-ion collisions based on the improved spin- and isospin-dependent Boltzmann-Uehling-Uhlenbeck transport model, particularly with the constraint of rigorous angular momentum conservation incorporated. We have studied the spin polarization of free nucleons and tritons/$^3$He as well as the spin alignment of deuterons, and predicted the flow splittings for their different spin states. We have also demonstrated that the spin-dependent potential may enhance dissipations and thus have a non-negligible effect on the spin-averaged transverse flow at low collision energies. When rigorous angular momentum conservation in each spin-dependent nucleon-nucleon collision is incorporated, it affects the overall dynamics, the flow, and also the spin polarization, while the effects of the spin-orbit potential on the spin-related observables are still appreciable. The well-developed SIBUU model could be further extended to include hyperons or vector mesons, or used as a hadronic afterburner for spin-related studies in relativistic heavy-ion collisions, with more inelastic channels incorporated in the future., Comment: 13 pages, 7 figures

Although pervasive spread of misinformation on social media platforms has become a pressing challenge, existing platform interventions have shown limited success in curbing its dissemination. In this study, we propose a stance-aware graph neural network (stance-aware GNN) that leverages users' stances to proactively predict misinformation spread. As different user stances can form unique echo chambers, we customize four information passing paths in stance-aware GNN, while the trainable attention weights provide explainability by highlighting each structure's importance. Evaluated on a real-world dataset, stance-aware GNN outperforms benchmarks by 32.65% and exceeds advanced GNNs without user stance by over 4.69%. Furthermore, the attention weights indicate that users' opposition stances have a higher impact on their neighbors' behaviors than supportive ones, which function as social correction to halt misinformation propagation. In this paper, we propose an Instant Photorealistic Style Transfer (IPST) approach, designed to achieve instant photorealistic style transfer on super-resolution inputs without the need for pre-training on pair-wise datasets or imposing extra constraints. Our method utilizes a lightweight StyleNet to enable style transfer from a style image to a content image while preserving non-color information. To further enhance the style transfer process, we introduce an instance-adaptive optimization to prioritize the photorealism of outputs and accelerate the convergence of the style network, leading to a rapid training completion within seconds. Moreover, IPST is well-suited for multi-frame style transfer tasks, as it retains temporal and multi-view consistency of the multi-frame inputs such as video and Neural Radiance Field (NeRF). Experimental results demonstrate that IPST requires less GPU memory usage, offers faster multi-frame transfer speed, and generates photorealistic outputs, making it a promising solution for various photorealistic transfer applications., Comment: 8 pages (reference excluded), 6 figures, 4 tables

In this letter, we compare three polynomial chaos expansion (PCE)-based methods for ANCOVA (ANalysis of COVAriance) indices based global sensitivity analysis for correlated random inputs in two power system applications. Surprisingly, the PCE-based models built with independent inputs after decorrelation may not give the most accurate ANCOVA indices, though this approach seems to be the most correct one and was applied in [1] in the field of civil engineering. In contrast, the PCE model built using correlated random inputs directly yields the most accurate ANCOVA indices for global sensitivity analysis. Analysis and discussions about the errors of different PCE-based models will also be presented.
