Establishing the relationship between catalytic performance and material structure is crucial for developing design principles for highly active catalysts. Herein, a type of perovskite fluoride, NH 4 MnF 3 , which owns strong-field coordination including fluorine and ammonia, is in situ grown on carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and used as a model structure to study and improve the intrinsic catalytic activity through heteroatom doping strategies. This approach optimizes spin-dependent orbital interactions to alter the charge transfer between the catalyst and reactants. As a result, the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) activity of NH 4 MnF 3 on CNTs is significantly enhanced by partial substitution of Mn sites with Ni, such as a half-wave potential (E 1/2 ) of 0.86 V and a limiting current density of 5.26 mA cm -2 , which are comparable to those of the commercial Pt/C catalysts. Experimental and theoretical calculations reveal that the introduction of Ni promotes lattice distortion, adjusts the electronic states of the active Mn centers, facilitates the transition from low-spin to intermediate-spin states, and shifts the d-band center closer to the Fermi level. The oxygen evolution reaction (OER) involves the recombination of diamagnetic hydroxyl (OH) or water (H 2 O) into the paramagnetic triplet state of oxygen (O 2 ). The spin conservation of oxygen intermediates plays a crucial role in OER, however, research on spin dynamics during the catalytic process remains in its early stages. Herein, β-Ni(OH) 2 and Fe-doped β-Ni(OH) 2 (Ni 5 Fe 1 (OH) 2 ) are utilized as model catalysts to understand the mechanism of spin magnetic effects at iron (III) sites during OER. Combined with magnetic characterization, it is founded that the introduction of Fe transforms the antiferromagnetic Ni(OH) 2 into a ferromagnetic material. Testing the magnetic response of the catalyst under an external magnetic field, the OER activity of Ni 5 Fe 1 (OH) 2 is significantly enhanced in comparison to Ni(OH) 2 . This improvement is likely due to the introduction of iron sites, which promote spin magnetic effects and enhance reaction kinetics, thereby increasing catalytic efficiency. Combining experimental and theoretical characterization, it is discovered that the iron sites accelerate the formation of heterogeneous dual-site O─O bridging, represented as ─Ni─O─O─Fe─, thereby effectively enhancing the kinetics of the OER reaction. The green sea turtle ( Chelonia mydas ) is the only sea turtle species that breeds in China, and the largest remaining nesting grounds for green sea turtles in Chinese waters is found on the Qilianyu atoll of the Xisha Islands. Nesting site selection is particularly important for egg survival, and understanding the microhabitat characteristics of green sea turtle nesting sites is crucial for delineating priority conservation areas for nesting grounds. In this study, we aimed to examine the role of several microhabitat ecological factors in the selection of nesting sites and the success of nesting. To this end, we performed differential comparisons, principal component analysis, and generalized linear model analysis. There were significant differences in microhabitat ecological factors, such as surface temperature, humidity, and particle size distribution (0.250-1 mm), between the nesting sites and the surrounding area. Green sea turtle nests were concentrated at a distance of 20.1-30 m from the high tide line, with a preferred distance from vegetation of 0-0.5 m. The vegetation cover of successful nests was concentrated in the range of 0%-25%, and the preferred sand types for successful nests were coarse sand (0.425-1 mm) and medium sand (0.250-0.425 mm). The average hatching success of six green sea turtle nests on North Island was 94.52%. The key microhabitat factors affecting the success of nesting were found to be sand characteristics such as humidity, bulk density, and particle size ratio. Therefore, green sea turtles on the Xisha Islands exhibit preferences for microhabitat ecological factors during nesting site selection, and the ecological characteristics of nesting grounds can affect the hatching success rate of green sea turtles. Hibernation is a crucial aspect of the life history of freshwater turtles inhabiting temperate regions. Therefore, understanding their hibernation habitat selection is essential for the targeted conservation of turtle species and their habitats. The Chinese softshell turtle ( Pelodiscus sinensis ), a medium-sized freshwater turtle, is widely distributed in China; however, populations are rapidly declining, and threatened by habitat destruction, overfishing, and water pollution. Little is known regarding this species' habitat selection during the winter months. In 2020-2022, we equipped 22 P. sinensis with radio transmitters (VHF), and we successfully relocated 13 turtles, 11 of which were buried in submerged substrates and 2 buried in terrestrial soil for hibernation. In aquatic habitats, turtles preferred ponded areas formed during the dry period of the Yellow River with low water velocity and less anthropogenic disturbance. However, we found little evidence for the selection of dissolved oxygen levels. In terrestrial habitats, turtles are buried under densely vegetated soils with their dorsal carapace approximately 5 cm beneath the surface, allowing respiration through a protruded neck. Terrestrial hibernacula were close to the water, maintained more than 30% humidity throughout the winter, and were effectively protected against freezing. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first formal report of the behavior of terrestrial hibernation in softshell turtles. Habitat utilization significantly influences the accumulation of chemical pollutants, including trace elements (TEs), in the tissues of large marine organisms. Previous research has demonstrated that sea turtles nesting in the same location may employ distinct foraging strategies. This study investigated the influence of habitat use strategies on the concentrations of 16 TEs in the eggs of green turtles (Chelonia mydas) nesting on the Xisha Islands. The analysis incorporated stable carbon (δ 13 C) and nitrogen (δ 15 N) isotopes, as well as characteristic elements. Additionally, inter-relationships between TEs were examined. The nesting female green turtles were categorized into two foraging groups based on isotopic signatures, namely oceanic (δ 13 C values: -21.5 to -17.0 ‰; δ 15 N values: 7.10 to 12.5 ‰) and neritic (δ 13 C values: -14.4 to -9.95 ‰ and δ 15 N values: 5.10 to 10.0 ‰). Different TE patterns were observed in the egg contents of these two groups. The neritic group exhibited elevated levels of V and Cu, which positively corrected with δ 13 C values. Conversely, the oceanic group displayed higher levels of Zn, Cd, Se, Sn, As and Hg, which positively associated with δ 15 N values. This distribution pattern is attributed to variations in background TE concentrations in the respective foraging habitats. Additionally, prey items and trophic levels of green turtles may contribute to the observed inter-group differences in TE concentrations (e.g. Zn, As, Se, Sn) found in their eggs, warranting further research. This study provides valuable information about habitat utilization patterns and TE distribution in green turtles nesting on the Xisha Islands. Sea turtles, vital to marine ecosystems, face population decline. Artificial breeding is a recovery strategy, yet it risks introducing antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) to wild populations and ecosystems. This study employed metagenomic techniques to compare the distribution characteristics of ARGs in the guts of wild and artificially bred green turtles (Chelonia mydas). The findings revealed that the total abundance of ARGs in C. mydas that have been artificially bred was significantly higher than that in wild individuals. Additionally, the abundance of mobile genetic elements (MGEs) co-occurring with ARGs in artificially bred C. mydas was significantly higher than in wild C. mydas. In the analysis of bacteria carrying ARGs, wild C. mydas exhibited greater bacterial diversity. Furthermore, in artificially bred C. mydas, we discovered 23 potential human pathogenic bacteria (HPB) that contain antibiotic resistance genes. In contrast, in wild C. mydas, only one type of HPB carrying an antibiotic resistance gene was found. BACKGROUND Hepple stage V osteochondral injuries of the talus include subchondral cyst formation, secondary degenerative change, and secondary osteoarthritis. This retrospective study aimed to compare perioperative outcomes from iliac periosteal bone autografting and talus non-weight-bearing surgery in 162 patients with Hepple V osteochondral injuries of the talus. MATERIAL AND METHODS According to the inclusion criteria, 162 eligible patients were selected for analysis and divided into an iliac periosteal bone autograft group (n=82) and a talus non-weight-bearing group (n=80) according to the surgical methods. General data and data on perioperative conditions, complications, intraoperative fluoroscopy times, preoperative and postoperative visual analog scale (VAS) for pain, ankle-hindfoot scoring system (AOFAS Ankle-Hindfoot Scale), and plantar flexion and extension range of motion were collected to assess ankle joint function and were compared between groups. RESULTS The comparison of perioperative results between the 2 groups showed that the incision length (P=0.000), operation time (P=0.000), and length of hospital stay (P=0.000) in the iliac periosteal bone autograft group were longer than those in the talus non-weight-bearing group. The intraoperative blood loss in the anterior group was greater than that in non-weight-bearing group (P=0.000). Regarding complications, there were more cases of donor site paresthesia (P=0.014) and postoperative pain aggravation in the iliac periosteal bone autograft group than in the non-weight-bearing group. CONCLUSIONS In patients with Hepple V osteochondral injury of the talus, the incision length, operation time, and length of hospital stay in the talus non-weight-bearing group were shorter, there was less intraoperative blood loss, and there were fewer postoperative complications. In the short term, bone transplantation in the talus non-weight-bearing group was more "minimally invasive" and the postoperative recovery was better than in the iliac periosteal bone allograft group.

The two-electron oxygen reduction reaction (2e-ORR) for the sustainable synthesis of hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2 ) has demonstrated considerable potential for local production of this environmentally friendly chemical oxidant on small, medium, and large scales. This method offers a promising alternative to the energy-intensive anthraquinone approach, placing a primary emphasis on the development of efficient electrocatalysts. Improving the efficiency of electrocatalysts and uncovering their catalytic mechanisms are essential steps in achieving high 2e-ORR activity, selectivity, and stability. This comprehensive review summarizes recent advancements in electrocatalysts for in-situ H 2 O 2 production, providing a detailed overview of the field. In particular, the review delves into the design, fabrication, and investigation of catalytic active sites contributing to H 2 O 2 selectivity. Additionally, it highlights a range of electrocatalysts including pure metals and alloys, transition metal compounds, single-atom catalysts, and carbon-based catalysts for the 2e-ORR pathway. The powerful antioxidant properties of astaxanthin (AST) face two significant challenges: low water solubility and poor chemical stability. To overcome them, extensive research and development efforts have been directed toward creating effective delivery systems. Among them, the positive synergistic effect between biomaterials can be used to refine the design of delivery systems. Understanding the relationship between structure and function aids in tailoring applications to specific needs. This review outlines the challenges associated with delivering AST and reviews the mechanisms involved in creating delivery systems, specifically focusing on the structure-function relationship of biomaterials. It comprehensively introduces the positive synergistic effect of biomaterials with enhancing the functional properties of AST, and analyzes the impact of designed structures on function regulation and the application prospects of the delivery system in the food industry. This study investigated the edible quality differences in muscle segments of silver carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix) and established an evaluation model for processing suitability. The results showed that steamed dorsal meat had the highest levels of total free amino acids, umami amino acids, and total volatile compounds. Fried tail meat exhibited the highest content of sweet amino acids and equivalent umami concentration (EUC) values, which were superior in all fried meat parts compared to those that were steamed. Key quality indicators for steaming included L*, crude protein, 5'-inosine monophosphate (IMP), (E)-2-Nonenal, and lysine, while IMP, moisture, 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline, and proline were key quality indicators for frying. The established processing suitability evaluation model accurately predicted overall sensory acceptability. Context: There is a significant challenge associated with the co-morbidity of mental and physical illnesses throughout the world. A classic example of mental/physical co-morbidity is diabetes-related depression (DD)., Objective: DD is treated with Zuogui Jiangtang Jieyu prescription (ZJJ). Diabetes and psychiatric disorders are associated with dysbiosis of the gut microbiota. In this study, the aim is to examine the effects of ZJJ on gut microbiota and neuroinflammation in DD., Methods: A model of DD was established and treated with medium and high doses of ZJJ as well as Metformin & Fluoxetine. A detection of depressive-like behavior was then conducted on the rats. Proinflammatory cytokines were measured in cerebrospinal fluid, and HPA axis-related proteins, glucose metabolism, and lipopolysaccharide (LPS) were measured in serum. Fecal samples from each group were collected and analyzed by 16S rRNA sequencing; TLR4 and MyD88 levels were detected by Western blot and immunohistochemistry (IHC) in the hippocampus., Results: High doses of ZJJ (ZJJ-H) were found to alleviate HPA axis hyperactivity and improve gut microbiota in rats with DD. The Pacific saury ( Cololabis saira ) is a highly nutritious deep-sea fish, rich in omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (n-3 PUFAs). This study comprehensively investigated fatty acids composition and lipid profiles of different parts of Pacific saury based on an untargeted lipidomic strategy. Results suggested that the crude fat content of meat, head and viscera were 5.81%, 10.90%, and 19.46%, respectively. The contents of PUFAs were 41.08%, 34.96% and 33.14%, respectively. Among them, the n-3 PUFAs in the head (34.58%) were significantly higher than meat (29.40%) and viscera (27.95%). Moreover, 5752 lipid molecules were identified, where glycerophospholipids (GP) were the most numerous lipid type (45.58%), with phosphatidylcholine (PC) being main differential subclass. PC (20:3_22:6) was the most abundant molecule in the head (14.59%) and meat (19.60%). Head_ vs _viscera group had higher characteristic PC abundance. In this study, the accumulation rate of plastic litter was investigated by sampling quadrats placed on the North Island of Qilianyu, and the composition was analyzed and identified to determine its source. The results showed that the annual average accumulation rate of plastic litter on North Island was 0.64 ± 0.32 pieces·m -2 ·month -1 , with a mass accumulation rate of 11.30 ± 7.73 g·m -2 ·month -1 . The accumulation rate of plastic litter was mainly influenced by wind speed and direction, with higher accumulation rates occurring during the southwest monsoon season and tropical cyclones. ATR-FTIR analysis indicated that polyethylene (44 %) and polypropylene (41 %) were the most abundant types of polymers. Objective: To evaluate the pedagogical skills of third-year nursing students at Yangzhou University (China)., Methods: A multisite quasi-experimental design was used in this study. Fifty-five participants were selected by convenience sampling. The Objective Structured Teaching Evaluation (OSTE) scale was used to assess teaching skills. The evaluation included four different stages: Teaching Background Analysis (E1), Lesson Plan Presentation (E2), Mock Class (E3) and Teaching Reflection (E4). Prior to the assessment, the teachers assigned homework to the students to complete at the four stations., Results: Fifty-five nursing students with an average age of 21.3±0.7 years participated in the study, with a predominance of female students (78.2%). The highest mean score was achieved in E1 (83.1), followed by E2 and E3 (82.5 and 82.3 respectively), while the lowest mean score was found in E4 (79.6). In E3, instructors gave lower scores for class organisation, class characteristics and overall performance compared to the self-reported scores of the standardised students (p<0.05). More than 80% of the students strongly agreed and recommended the OSTE as the primary method for assessing teaching skills in the classroom., Conclusion: Deficits in teaching skills were identified in the participating students; this information will allow specific interventions to improve the situation. Gut microbes are pivotal reference indicators for assessing the health status of animals. Before introducing artificially bred species into the wild, examining their gut microbe composition is crucial to help mitigate potential threats posed to wild populations. However, gut microbiological trait similarities between wild and artificially bred green turtles remain unexplored. Therefore, this study compared the gut microbiological characteristics of wild and artificially bred green turtles ( Chelonia mydas ) through high-throughput Illumina sequencing technology. The α-diversity of intestinal bacteria in wild green turtles, as determined by Shannon and Chao indices, significantly surpasses that of artificial breeding green turtles ( p  < 0.01). However, no significant differences were detected in the fungal α-diversity between wild and artificially bred green turtles. Meanwhile, the β-diversity analysis revealed significant differences between wild and artificially bred green turtles in bacterial and fungal compositions. The community of gut bacteria in artificially bred green turtles had a significantly higher abundance of Fusobacteriota including those belonging to the Paracoccus , Cetobacterium , and Fusobacterium genera than that of the wild green turtle. In contrast, the abundance of bacteria belonging to the phylum Actinobacteriota and genus Nautella significantly decreased. Regarding the fungal community, artificially bred green turtles had a significantly higher abundance of Fusarium , Sterigmatomyces , and Acremonium and a lower abundance of Candida and Rhodotorula than the wild green turtle. The PICRUSt2 analyses demonstrated significant differences in the functions of the gut bacterial flora between groups, particularly in carbohydrate and energy metabolism. Fungal functional guild analysis further revealed that the functions of the intestinal fungal flora of wild and artificially bred green turtles differed significantly in terms of animal pathogens-endophytes-lichen parasites-plant pathogens-soil saprotrophs-wood saprotrophs. BugBase analysis revealed significant potential pathogenicity and stress tolerance variations between wild and artificially bred green turtles. Collectively, this study elucidates the distinctive characteristics of gut microbiota in wild and artificially bred green turtles while evaluating their health status. Integrating single atoms and clusters into one system represents a novel strategy for achieving the desired catalytic performance. In comparison to single-atom catalysts, catalysts combining single atoms and clusters harness the advantages of both, thus displaying greater potential. Nevertheless, constructing single-atom-cluster systems remains challenging, and the fundamental mechanism for enhancing catalytic activity remains elusive. In this study, a directly confined preparation of a 3D hollow sea urchin-like carbon structure (Mn SA /Mn AC -SSCNR) is developed. Mn single atoms synergistically interact with Mn clusters, optimizing and reducing energy barriers in the reaction pathway, thus enhancing reaction kinetics. Consequently, in contrast to Mn single-atom catalysts (Mn SA -SSCNR), Mn SA /Mn AC -SSCNR exhibits significantly improved oxygen reduction activity, with a half-wave potential (E 1/2 ) of 0.90 V in 0.1 m KOH, surpassing that of Mn SA -SSCNR and Pt/C. Background: Intra-abdominal abscesses are a frequent manifestations of melioidosis whereas pancreas is barely affected by this condition. Herein, by delving into the clinical manifestations, diagnostic processes, and the ultimate clinical outcome, we report a case of an unusual presentation of pancreatic melioidosis in a Chinese patient, aiming to shed light on a diagnosis that is not commonly associated with the pancreas., Case Presentation: The patient, a 32-year-old male farmer, suffered from persistent burning pain in his upper abdomen, accompanied by nausea, vomiting, fever and other symptoms, presented to the clinic. His body temperature spiked to 38.5 °C without apparent reason for this fever. A thorough examination, including the blood culture and the imaging examination, led to a diagnosis of pancreatic melioidosis. The patient was promptly treated with intravenous meropenem and ceftazidime. As a consequence, his symptoms eased and discharged in stable condition. The patient continued his treatment with oral trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (co-trimoxazole) for three months to control the infection. Following 6 months of regular follow-up, the patient fully recovered., Conclusions: In tropical regions such as Hainan, it is crucial to consider atypical infection like B. pseudomallei in the differential diagnosis, even when they present in atypical locations such as a pancreatic pseudocyst. Detecting pancreatic involvement in melioidosis relies heavily on sensitive bacterial culture and imaging examination. Oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is the bottleneck of metal-air batteries and fuel cells. Strain regulation can change the geometry and adjust the surface charge distribution of catalysts, which is a powerful strategy to optimize the ORR activity. The introduction of controlled strain to the material is still difficult to achieve. Herein, we present a temperature-pressure-induced strategy to achieve the controlled lattice strain for metal coordination polymers. Through the systematic study of the strain effect on ORR performance, the relationship between geometric and electronic effects is further understood and confirmed. The strained Co-DABDT (DABDT=2,5-diaminobenzene-1,4-dithiol) with 2 % lattice compression exhibits a superior half-wave potential of 0.81 V. Theoretical analysis reveals that the lattice strain changes spin-charge densities around S atoms for Co-DABDT, and then regulates the hydrogen bond interaction with intermediates to promote the ORR catalytic process. Herein, we designed and synthesized the crystalline Fe-DABDT and Co-DABDT (DABDT = 2,5-diaminobenzene-1,4-dithiol) and optimized an effective magnetic moment to explore the role of the spin-magnetic effect in the regulation of water oxidation activity. It can be found that the OER activity of the catalyst is positively correlated with its effective magnetic moment. Under the external magnetic field, Fe-DABDT with more spin single electrons has a stronger spin-magnetic response to water oxidation than Fe/Co-DABDT and Co-DABDT. The increase in OER current of Fe-DABDT is nearly 2 times higher than that of Co-DABDT. Experimental and density functional theory studies show that magnetized Fe sites could realize nucleophilic reaction, accelerate the polarization of electron spin states, and promote the polar decomposition of O-H and the formation of the O-O bond. This study provides mechanistic insight into the spin-magnetic effect of oxygen evolution reaction and further understanding of the spin origin of catalytic activity, which is expected to improve the energy efficiency of hydrogen production.

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and their derivatives have been extensively employed in Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER) catalysts due to their significantly larger specific surface areas, distinct metal centers, and well-organized porous structures. However, the microporous structure of MOFs and their derivatives presents mass transfer resistance, limiting their further development. Drawing inspiration from hierarchical structures allowing for the transport and exchange of substances in the biological world, we designed and fabricated biomimetic layered porous structures within ZIF-67 and its derivatives. Based on this, we achieved a three-dimensional ordered layered porous nitrogen-doped carbon-coated magnetic cobalt catalyst (3DOLP Co@NDC) with a biomimetic pore structure. It is found that the 3DOLP Co@NDC (352 mV @10 mA cm -1 ) was better than Co@NDC (391 mV @10 mA cm -1 ). The introduction of a three-dimensional ordered layered porous structure is conducive to increasing the specific surface area of the material, increasing the electrochemical active area, and improving the catalytic performance of the material. The introduction of a three-dimensional ordered layered porous structure would help to build a bionic grade pore structure. The threat of microplastics to marine animals and habitats is increasing, which may affect sea turtle nesting grounds. The Qilianyu Islands are the largest remaining green turtle ( Chelonia mydas ) nesting grounds in China. Despite being far from the mainland, microplastic pollution cannot be ignored. In this study, the level of microplastic pollution in surface sediments from three different zones, namely, the bottom, intertidal, and supratidal zone, was investigated on North Island, Qilianyu Islands. The results showed that the abundance of microplastics in the supratidal zone was significantly higher than that in the bottom zone and intertidal zone (r = 3.65, p = 0.011), with the highest average abundance of microplastics located on the southwest coast of North Island. In the bottom zone, only plastic blocks (88%) and fibers (12%) were found. The main types of microplastics in the intertidal and supratidal zones were plastic blocks (48%) and foam (42%), with polyethylene (PE) (40%) and polystyrene (PS) (34%) being the predominant components. These types and components of microplastics differed from those in the surrounding seawater, but corresponding types and components were found in the plastic debris on the beach. Meanwhile, it was also observed that there were multiple instances of fragmented plastic on the beach. Thus, we suggest that the microplastics on the beach in North Island were mainly derived from the fragmentation of microplastic debris, indicating secondary microplastics. It is recommended to further strengthen the regular cleaning of plastic debris on the beach, especially the removal of small plastic debris, in order to reduce the pollution from secondary microplastics generated by the fragmentation of beach plastic debris and to better protect China's most important sea turtle nesting site in the South China Sea.

Objective: Whether uric acid (UA) has an effect on renal function remains controversial. We aimed to investigate the association between serum UA with the decline in estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) in middle-aged and elderly populations in the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS)., Design: Longitudinal cohort study., Setting: This was a second analysis of a public dataset (CHARLS)., Participants: In this study, 4538 middle-aged and elderly individuals were screened after removing individuals younger than 45 years old, with kidney disease, malignant tumour and missing values., Outcome Measures: Blood tests were performed both in 2011 and 2015. Decline in eGFR was defined as an eGFR decrease of more than 25% or deterioration of the eGFR stage during the 4-year follow-up period. Logistic models corrected for multiple covariables were used to analyse the association of UA with the decline in eGFR., Results: The median (IQR) concentrations of serum UA grouped by quartiles were 3.1 (0.6), 3.9 (0.3), 4.6 (0.4) and 5.7 (1.0) mg/dL, respectively. After multivariable adjustment, the OR of the decline in eGFR was higher for quartile 2 (3.5-<4.2 mg/dL: OR 1.44; 95% CI 1.07 to 1.64; p<0.01), quartile 3 (4.2-<5.0 mg/dL: OR 1.72; 95% CI 1.36 to 2.18; p<0.001) and quartile 4 (≥5.0 mg/dL: OR 2.04; 95% CI 1.58 to 2.63; p<0.001) when compared with quartile 1 (<3.5 mg/dL), and the p value for the trend was <0.001., Conclusions: Over a 4-year follow-up period, we found that elevated UA was associated with a decline in eGFR in the middle-aged and elderly individuals with normal renal function., Competing Interests: Competing interests: None declared., (© Author(s) (or their employer(s)) 2023. CD19-targeted chimeric antigen receptor T lymphocytes (CAR-T) has demonstrated a high proportion of complete remission in the treatment of relapsed refractory acute B cell lymphoblastic leukemia (r/r B-ALL). It is of great clinical significance to explore which factors will impact long-term disease-free survival of patients with r/r B-ALL after CAR-T therapy without bridging bone marrow transplantation. Our study found that, in patients with r/r B-ALL without bridging transplantation, the patients' age; infusion dosage; whether they had undergone allo-stem cell transplantation before CAR-T therapy, using CD-19-targeted or CD19/CD22-dual-targeted CAR-T; whether there is fusion gene; tumor burden before therapy; and comorbidity had no significant relationship with their long-term disease-free survival. We found only that CAR-T persistence was highly correlated with patients' long-term disease-free survival. So, we further profiled CAR-T cells using single-cell sequencing and found that there is a specific T cell subset that may be associated with the long-term persistence of CAR-T. Finally, according to the single-cell sequencing results, we established cell production process named PrimeCAR, which shared common signaling pathways with the T cell subset identified. The coincidence of hatching and emergence events with favorable conditions is crucial for turtle survival. Nocturnal emergence has been widely documented across marine and freshwater turtles, and has long been suggested as an adaptive behavior that reduces risks of heat stress and predation. To our knowledge, however, studies related to nocturnal emergence have mainly focused on the post-hatching behaviors of turtles, and very few experimental studies have been performed to investigate the effects of hatching time on the distribution of emergence times over the course of a day. Here, we visually monitored the activity of the Chinese softshell turtle ( Pelodiscus sinensis )-a shallow-nesting freshwater turtle-from hatching to emergence. Our study provides evidence for the novel finding that (i) the timing of synchronous hatching events in P. sinensis coincides with the time of day when nest temperatures decrease, (ii) the synchrony between hatching and emergence may further facilitate their nocturnal emergence, and (iii) synchronous behaviors of hatchlings in the nest may be effective in reducing the risk of hatchling predation, and predation is more likely to occur in the asynchronous hatching groups. The Green Sea Turtle ( Chelonia mydas ) is an umbrella species in the South China Sea, a Chinese national first-level protected wild animal, and the only sea turtle that nests in waters around China. The largest C. mydas nesting ground is distributed in the Xisha (Paracel) Islands, which plays a vital role in the survival of sea turtle populations in the region. This study reveals the genetic diversity and population structure of the breeding population of C. mydas in the Xisha (Paracel) Islands using three mitochondrial markers. A total of 15 D-loop, five Cytochrome b (Cyt b), and seven Cytochrome C Oxidase subunit I (COI) haplotypes were identified in the breeding population of C. mydas in the Xisha (Paracel) Islands. D-loop haplotypes are distributed in clades III, IV, and VIII of the C. mydas mitochondrial control region. It is the first time that one haplotype from Clade IV was found in this C. mydas population, and five new D-loop haplotypes were also identified. The haplotype and nucleotide diversity were calculated for each marker: D-loop (0.415 haplotype diversity, 0.00204 nucleotide diversity), Cyt b (0.140, 0.00038) and COI (0.308, 0.00083). The average genetic distance ( p ) of each molecular marker was less than 0.01. Neutral detection and nucleotide mismatch analysis suggested that the breeding population of C. mydas in the Xisha (Paracel) Islands did not experience a population expansion event in recent history. There is still some controversy about the relationship between lipids and venous thrombosis (VTE). A bidirectional Mendelian randomization (MR) study was conducted to clarify the causal relationship between three classical lipids (low-density lipoprotein (LDL), high-density lipoprotein (HDL) and triglycerides (TGs)) and venous thromboembolism (VTE) (deep venous thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE)). Three classical lipids and VTE were analysed by bidirectional Mendelian randomization (MR). We used the random effect inverse variance weighted (IVW) model as the main analysis model and the weighted median method, simple mode method, weighted mode method and MR-Egger methods as supplementary methods. The leave-one-out test was used to determine the influence of outliers. The heterogeneity was calculated by using Cochran Q statistics in the MR-Egger and IVW methods. The intercept term in the MR‒Egger regression was used to indicate whether horizontal pleiotropy affected the results of the MR analysis. In addition, MR-PRESSO identified outlier single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and obtained a stable result by removing outlier SNPs and then performing MR analysis. When we used three classical lipids (LDL, HDL and TGs) as exposure variables, no causal relationship between them and VTE (DVT and PE) was found. In addition, we did not find significant causal effects of VTE on the three classical lipids in reverse MR analysis. Hainan Island used to be the most important nesting ground of green turtles in China before they disappeared about 37 years ago. Habitat degradation is one of the main reasons for the disappearance of sea turtles. Therefore, it is necessary to take action to evaluate and recover the historical nesting grounds if we hope for sea turtles to return in the future. In this study, we surveyed the beach debris on 13 historical nesting grounds of green sea turtles on Hainan Island. The beach debris on these nesting grounds mainly consisted of plastic, cigarette butts, foam, glass, and nylon, with plastic (including plastic blocks, cigarette butts, and foam) being the dominant type, accounting for 78.92% in number, followed by glass. The average density of beach debris was 0.314 pieces·m -2 . Compared to other nesting grounds, the average quantity and density of beach debris in Hainan was lower, but the proportion of plastic debris was extremely high. After categorizing debris type, we found that most was from human coastal activities (35.54%), with debris at tourist beaches having the biggest proportion of debris from smoking supplies. The distribution characteristics of beach debris were related to the function of the beach, density of tourist, and the intensity of beach debris cleaning. The herpetofauna of the Indomalayan bioregion of Asia suffers from severe habitat loss, unsustainable harvesting, and lack of research and conservation. Here, we investigated the range-wide phylogeography of the endangered "eyed" turtles (genus Sacalia , including the Beale's Eyed Turtle S. bealei and the Four-eyed Turtle S. quadriocellata ) and discovered a natural interspecific hybrid turtle population in China. Based on phylogeny of the mitochondrial Cytochrome b gene of 101 samples in this study and public data, three major clades and six subclades were identified: S. bealei (SBE) in eastern-southern China, east S. quadriocellata in South China (northern east [SQUen] and southern east [SQUes] subclades), and west S. quadriocellata mainly in Vietnam (northern west [SQUwn], central west [SQUwc], and southern west [SQUws] subclades). We sequenced 16 nuclear DNA loci of 87 samples from SBE, SQUen, SQUes, and SQUwn subclades. Population genetic clustering analysis suggested a structure similar to the mitochondrial phylogeny, where most samples were classified into four genetic clusters corresponding to the four mtDNA subclades. However, a proportion of samples carrying SQUen mtDNA haplotypes formed an additional distinct cluster SHY. Those samples are found in the contact zone of the two species bearing mosaic and intermediate morphological characteristics. We detected an admixed ancestry in SHY from SBE and SQUen that conformed to an intrapopulation breeding scenario for at least hundreds of generations after the initial hybrid event, leading to a conclusion that SHY is a distinct and near-panmictic population derived from natural interspecific hybridization. In addition, SQUes (Hainan Island endemic) is of special concern due to significant isolation and low genetic diversity. We suggest that seven evolutionarily significant units should be recognized to facilitate appropriate conservation actions. Introduction: At present, clinical studies have confirmed that osteoporosis (OP) has an inverse relationship with osteoarthritis (OA), but it has not been proven from the point of view of genetics, so our study hopes to clarify the potential effect of OP on OA at the level of gene prediction through two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis., Methods: A two-sample MR was adopted to research the causal relationship of OP with OA (including total OA, knee OA and hip OA). All data come from a public shared database. Such traditional methods as simple and weighted models, inverse variance weighted, weighted median, and Mendelian Randomization (MR-Egger) regression were employed to assess the causal effect of OP on OA. We used the Pleiotrophy RESidual Sum and Outlier (MR-PRESSO) method and MR-Egger method to study sensitivity. The leave-one-out test is used to determine the influence of outliers. The heterogeneity was calculated by using Cochran Q statistics and MR-Egger regression in the inverse variance-weighted (IVW) method. P > 0.05 indicates that there is a large heterogeneity. MR-Robust Adjustment Profile Score (RAPS) is stable to both systematic and specific multiplicity, so we used MR-RAPS as a supplementary method to verify the results of IVW., Results: According to the results of IVW, we found that there was a causal relationship between OP and total OA, and OP reduced the incidence of total OA (beta=-0.285, OR=0.751, P value< 0.016). The MR estimation of the causal effect of OP on knee OA suggested that the genetic prediction of OP was negatively correlated with knee osteoarthritis (KOA) (IVW: beta=-6.11, OR=0.002, P value< 0.016). The IVW results suggested that OP was causally related to hip OA, and OP had a protective effect on hip OA (beta=-5.48, OR=4.15e-3, P value= 3.99e-3). Rechargeable aqueous Zn metal batteries have become promising candidates for large-scale electrochemical energy storage owing to their high safety and affordable low cost. However, Zn metal anode suffers from dendritic growth and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), deteriorating the electrochemical performance. Here, we demonstrate that these challenges can be conquered by introducing a halogen ion into the Zn 2+ solvation structure. By designing an electrolyte composed of zinc acetate and ammonium halide, the electron-donating anion I - can coordinate with Zn 2+ and transform the traditional Zn(H 2 O) 6 2+ to ZnI(H 2 O) 5 + , in which I - could transfer electrons into H 2 O and thus suppress HER. The dynamic electrostatic shielding layer formed by concomitant NH 4 + can restrict the dendritic growth. As a result, the halogenated electrolyte achieves a high initial coulombic efficiency (CE) of 99.3% in the Zn plating/stripping process and remains at an average of ∼99.8% with uniform Zn deposition. Moreover, Zn-I batteries are constructed by using dissociative I - as the cathode and carbon felt-polyaniline as the conductive and adsorptive layer, exhibiting an average CE of 98.6% without capacity decay after 300 cycles. This work provides insights into the halogenated Zn 2+ solvation structure and offers a general electrolyte design strategy for achieving a highly reversible Zn metal anode and batteries.

The endocrine disruptor chemicals (EDCs) are ubiquitous in the environment, and it has raised wide public concern because of the dangers of EDCs for living organisms and the environment. In order to comparatively study the effects of EDCs [17-α-ethinylestradiol (EE 2 ), Bisphenol A (BPA) and Nonylphenol (NP)] on the expression of estrogen receptors (ERs: erα, erβ1, and erβ2 ) at mRNA and protein level, total 520 adult Tanichthys albonubes were exposed to E 2 , EE 2 , BPA and NP with three concentrations respectively: EE 2 (1, 5, 25 ng/l), NP (10, 50, 250 μg/l), BPA (100, 500, 2,500 μg/l) for 28 days, E 2 (2, 20, 200 ng/l) being as the positive control. After treatment, the brain, eye, gill, heart, liver, gut, kidney, muscle, testis, and ovary were collected, following by the real-time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) and western blot methods to detect the expression levels of erα , erβ1 , and erβ2 in T.albonubes at mRNA and protein level. Our results showed that high expression of terα (t means T.albonubes), terβ1 , and terβ2 were detected in liver, while terβ1 and terβ2 mainly expressed in the liver, intestine, kidney, muscle and testis. EE 2 , BPA, and NP treatment all up-regulated the expression of terα, terβ1 , and terβ2 in the brain, liver, and testis, but with some variations. Similar to mRNA level, both TERα and TERβ were up-regulated by all the EE 2 , BPA, and NP treatment with dose-dependent effect. Trace element pollution is a potential threat to the reproduction of sea turtles. Hainan Island was previously the most important nesting ground of green sea turtles in China before they disappeared approximately 36 years ago. The Chinese government has encouraged restoration work on historical nesting grounds, and it is necessary to evaluate the status of these sites before conducting habitat restoration. This study analyzed the concentrations of seven trace elements in the surface sediments of 13 historical nesting grounds in Hainan. The average concentrations were 19.47 (Cr), 4.67 (Ni), 6.99 (Cu), 0.08 (Cd), 16.68 (Pb), 0.02 (Hg), and 5.27 (As) mg/kg, which were lower than the first-grade limit values of the GB (18668-2002) national standard in China. The concentrations were close to the background value, except for the relatively high Cd value. The potential ecological risk was ranked as Cd > Hg > As > Cu > Pb > Cr. The spatial distribution of trace element contamination in Hainan was uneven, with high potential ecological risk levels of Cd and Hg contamination in Longwan'gang, Shimeiwan, Yazhou Qu, and Fushicun. Marine mariculture, wastewater discharge, and fishing boats are the main sources of trace element contamination in Hainan. We recommend strengthening the control of Hg and Cd contamination sources, monitoring trace elements in relevant/interest areas, and the environmental protection department should curb local residents from directly discharging mariculture wastewater and domestic sewage into the sea., (© 2022. Aim: To investigate the broad-spectrum antifungal activity of Burkholderia sp. BV6, that is isolated from rice roots and its biocontrol potential against rice blast caused by Magnaporthe oryzae., Methods and Results: We evaluated the ability to isolate BV6 in the biological control of rice blast disease and investigated its antifungal mechanisms. BV6 strongly inhibited the hyphal growth of M. oryzae Guy11 and other plant pathogenic fungi, and pot experiments showed that BV6 significantly decreases the disease index of rice blast from 47.5 to 24.6. The secreted small-molecule secondary metabolites were regarded as weapons during the antifungal process by inhibiting the germination of M. oryzae conidia and mycelial growth, and thereby prevent the following infection. Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis of the metabolites from the supernatant of isolate BV6 showed that the antifungal weapons of isolate BV6 are novel, small, molecular hydrophilic compounds that are different from reported antifungal compounds., Conclusions: The isolate BV6 inhibits the M. oryzae infection by the production of small-molecule antifungal compounds., Significance and Impact of the Study: The current study discovers the role of the Burkholderia sp. BV6 in the biocontrol of plant pathogenic fungi. Chemical pollutants present a substantial threat to the survival of the green turtle (Chelonia mydas). In this study, the concentrations of 12 trace elements (TEs) in seawater, sediments, and green turtle forage and eggshells from the Xisha Islands in the South China Sea, along with their patterns of transfer and accumulation, were identified. The results revealed that the median TE concentrations in seawater and sediments were lower than the first-grade limit values of the national standard in China, indicating a low ecological risk. The concentrations (μg·g -1 ) of TEs in forage ranged from 0.05-0.69, 3.43-14.4, 157-2391, 27.9-124, 2.05-9.39, 0.30-9.78, 2.01-80.50, 0.18-5.76, 0.06-0.98, 2.00-18.4, 0.02-0.24, and 0.01-0.09 for Cr, Mn, Sr, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, Se, Cd, As, Pb, and Hg, respectively. Seawater, sediments, turtle forage, and eggshells exhibited different TE profiles, which were driven by Hg, Sr, Cr, and Pb in seawater and sediments; Fe and Ni in sediments; Cd and As in forage; and Zn, Se, and Cu in eggshells. The contents of Cu, Zn, and Se increased slightly with trophic level, indicating that they were transferred through dietary pathways. Although Cd and As appeared to bioaccumulate in green turtle forage, it was not transferred to their eggshells, which may be related to the excretion and metabolism process in the mother's body. Thus, eggshells may be a poor bioindicator for the exposure of female green turtles to these toxic elements., (© 2022. Microplastics, new persistent pollutants, have recently attracted considerable attention. When present in beach sediments, microplastics may adversely affect the nesting and hatching of sea turtles on beaches. In this study, we investigate microplastic pollution at Qilianyu (northeastern Xisha Islands), the largest known nesting ground for green sea turtles ( Chelonia mydas ) in China. We found that the average abundance of microplastics in the beach surface sediments was 338.44 ± 315.69 thousand pieces·m -3 or 1,353.78 ± 853.68 pieces·m -2 , with foam and fragments as the main microplastic type identified. The microplastic particles were categorised as small and were predominantly within the 0.05-1 mm size category. Most microplastic particles were white (71.31%). Polystyrene and polyethylene were found to be the most common forms of plastic present. Microplastic pollution was not only observed on the beach surface but also at the bottom of nests approximately 60 cm may be harmful to the incubation of sea turtle eggs. We suggest removing plastic litter, especially small pieces of plastic, on beaches to reduce the threat of microplastic pollution to marine life, including sea turtles. Furthermore, the foam used in aquaculture should be recovered and replaced before it becomes fragmented due to age. Aqueous-phase oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is the bottleneck of water splitting. The formation of the O-O bond involves the generation of paramagnetic oxygen molecules from the diamagnetic hydroxides. The spin configurations might play an important role in aqueous-phase molecular electrocatalysis. However, spintronic electrocatalysis is almost an uncultivated land for the exploration of the oxygen molecular catalysis process. Herein, we present a novel magnetic Fe III site spin-splitting strategy, wherein the electronic structure and spin states of the Fe III sites are effectively induced and optimized by the Jahn-Teller effect of Cu 2+ . The theoretical calculations and operando attenuated total reflectance-infrared Fourier transform infrared (ATR FT-IR) reveal the facilitation for the O-O bond formation, which accelerates the production of O 2 from OH - and improves the OER activity. The Cu 1 -Ni 6 Fe 2 -LDH catalyst exhibits a low overpotential of 210 mV at 10 mA cm -2 and a low Tafel slope (33.7 mV dec -1 ), better than those of the initial Cu 0 -Ni 6 Fe 2 -LDHs (278 mV, 101.6 mV dec -1 ). With the Cu 2+ regulation, we have realized the transformation of NiFe-LDHs from ferrimagnets to ferromagnets and showcase that the OER performance of Cu-NiFe-LDHs significantly increases compared with that of NiFe-LDHs under the effect of a magnetic field for the first time. The magnetic-field-assisted Cu 1 -Ni 6 Fe 2 -LDHs provide an ultralow overpotential of 180 mV at 10 mA cm -2 , which is currently one of the best OER performances. The combination of the magnetic field and spin configuration provides new principles for the development of high-performance catalysts and understandings of the catalytic mechanism from the spintronic level.

The effects of condiment (salt) and processing technic (homogenization) on digestion and interfacial properties of micro/nano-sized colloidal particles (MNCPs) in bigeye tuna head soup (BTHS) using simulated gastrointestinal digestion model in vitro were investigated. For MNCPs in BTHS, the triglycerides were wrapped with proteins in the form of a ring. After salting, the average particle size of the MNCPs in salted BTHS (SBTHS) decreased compared with BTHS. However, the partial demulsification phenomenon existed, and part of the protein was encapsulated in some MNCPs. After further homogenization, the average particle size of the MNCPs in homogenous SBTHS (HSBTHS) was further decreased based on SBTHS and the MNCP was rearranged, which changed the original membrane structure. After gastrointestinal digestion, adding salt decreased the release of total fatty acids compared with unsalted. But homogenization processing increased the release of total fatty acids in HSBTHS and there was no significant difference ( p ≥ 0.05) between HSBTHS and BTHS. Thus, the decrease in the release of some fatty acids due to adding salt was compensated by homogenization. This study evaluated microplastic pollution in beaches that have served as historical nesting grounds for green turtles in Hainan Island, China and explored the sources of microplastic pollutants to conduct habitat restoration for sea turtles. The average abundance of the microplastics in the beach surface sediments was 2567.38 ± 2937.37 pieces·m -2 or 641.85 ± 734.34 thousand pieces·m -3 , foam and plastic block were the main microplastics identified. Microplastic size was predominantly within the 0.05-1 mm category (small microplastic particles), and most microplastic particles were white. Polystyrene and polyethylene were the dominant plastic compositions. The type and compositions of microplastics indicate that most microplastics in this study were broken from large plastic blocks and foam. To reduce the threat of microplastic pollution to marine life, including sea turtles, we suggested removing plastic litter, especially small plastic on beaches, and replacing and recovering the foam used in aquaculture before it ages and fragments., (Copyright © 2021. Background: Since April 2021, the SARS-CoV-2 (B.1.167) Delta variant has been rampant worldwide. Recently, this variant has spread in Guangzhou, China. Our objective was to characterize the clinical features and risk factors of severe cases of the Delta variant in Guangzhou., Methods: A total of 144 patients with the Delta variant were enrolled, and the data between the severe and non-severe groups were compared. Logistic regression methods and Cox multivariate regression analysis were used to investigate the risk factors of severe cases., Results: The severity of the Delta variant was 11.1%. Each 1-year increase in age (OR, 1.089; 95% CI, 1.035-1.147; P = 0.001) and each 1-μmol/L increase in total bilirubin (OR, 1.198; 95% CI, 1.021-1.406; P = 0.039) were risk factors for severe cases. Moreover, the risk of progression to severe cases increased 13.444-fold and 3.922-fold when the age was greater than 58.5 years (HR, 13.444; 95% CI, 2.989-60.480; P = 0.001) or the total bilirubin level was greater than 7.23 μmol/L (HR, 3.922; 95% CI, 1.260-12.207; P = 0.018), respectively., Conclusion: Older age and elevated total bilirubin were independent risk factors for severe cases of the Delta variant in Guangzhou, especially if the age was greater than 58.5 years or the total bilirubin level was greater than 7.23 μmol/L.

Sea turtles are threatened by climate change and human activity, and their global populations continue to decline sharply. The Chinese government encourages artificial breeding of sea turtles to reduce the use of wild populations. However, artificial breeding of sea turtles is still fairly difficult, and some facilities may illegally purchase wild turtle eggs and then sell incubated turtles by marketing them as artificially bred turtles, which adds another threat to an already endangered species. Therefore, it is necessary to find a reliable method to distinguish the authenticity of artificially bred individuals. In this study, we investigated a turtle farm in southern China, that contained more than 400 green turtles, which were claimed to have been bred in captivity. Parentage testing of turtles from this farm was successfully conducted using two nuclear microsatellites combined with a mitochondrial D-loop DNA marker. Genetic matching of all 19 adults and randomly selected 16 juvenile turtles revealed that none of the juvenile turtles had a matching parent combination among the adult turtles. Therefore, we speculated that the green turtles in this farm were from the wild and that their origin of birth was mainly the Sulu Sea. Rechargeable aqueous Zn batteries are potential for large-scale electrochemical energy storage due to their low cost and high security. However, Zn metal anode suffers from the dendritic growth and interfacial hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), resulting in the deterioration of electrode/battery performance. Here we propose that both dendrites and HER are related to the water participated Zn 2+ solvation structure-Zn(H 2 O) 6 2+ and thus can be resolved by transforming Zn(H 2 O) 6 2+ to an anion-type water-free solvation structure-ZnCl 4 2- , which is achieved in traditional ZnSO 4 aqueous electrolyte after adding chloride salt with a bulky cation (1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride). The elimination of cation-water interaction suppresses HER, while the electrostatic repulsion between Zn tips and the anion solvation structure inhibits dendrite formation. As a result, the electrolyte shows uniform Zn deposition with an average Zn plating/stripping Coulombic efficiency of ≈99.9 %, enabling a capacity retention of 78.8 % after 300 cycles in anode-free Zn batteries with pre-zincificated polyaniline as the cathode. Human settlement environment is space places closely related to human production and life, and also surface spaces inseparable from human activities. As a coastal city in the east of China, Qingdao has a relatively high level of urbanization. However, it also along with many urban problems at the same time, among which the problem of human settlement environment has attracted more and more general attention from people. According to the characteristics of human settlement environment in Qingdao, the research constructs an index system with 10 index factors from natural factors and humanity factors, and proposes a comprehensive evaluation model. Evaluate and grade suitability of human settlement environment in Qingdao, explore the spatial aggregation and differentiation of the quality of human settlement environment, and reveal the internal connection of spatial evolution. The results indicate that the overall livability of Qingdao is relatively good, showing a multi-center and radial driving development. The distribution of livability is uneven, showing a decreasing spatial distribution law from the coast to the inland, and the quality of human settlement environment in Jiaozhou Bay and the coastal areas is relatively high. Qingdao is mainly based on natural livability, supplemented by humanity livability, compared with natural suitability, the spatio-temporal evolution characteristics of humanity livability have experienced three stages: rising-contradictory rising-harmonious rising. The quality of human settlement environment has obvious spatial correlation and is positively correlated with the degree of agglomeration, and the agglomeration of blocks with a higher quality of human settlement environment is higher than that of blocks with a lower level. The rule of human settlement environment changing over time is that areas with high quality of human settlement environment begin to shift from the city center to the north and the south, transforming into multi-point development, and overall environmental suitability has been improved. Non-noble transition metal complexes have attracted growing interest as efficient electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) while their activities still lack rational and effective regulation. Herein, we propose a d-π conjugation strategy for rough and fine tuning of ORR activity of TM-BTA (TM=Mn/Fe/Co/Ni/Cu, BTA=1,2,4,5-benzenetetramine) coordination polymers. By first-principle calculations, we elucidate that the strong d-π conjugation elevates the d xz /d yz orbitals of TM centers to enhance intermediate adsorption and strengthens the electronic modulation effect from substitute groups on ligands. Based on this strategy, Co-TABQ (tetramino benzoquinone) is found to approach the top of ORR activity volcano. The synthesized Co-TABQ with atomically distributed Co on carbon nanotubes exhibits a half-wave potential of 0.85 V and a specific current of 127 mA mg metal -1 at 0.8 V, outperforming the benchmark Pt/C. The high activity, low peroxide yield, and considerable durability of Co-BTA and Co-TABQ promise their application in oxygen electrocatalysis. Sea turtles are an important umbrella species in marine ecosystems. The populations of all five species of sea turtles in China have dropped sharply due to massive illegal trade and habitat loss. The fast-growing demand for sea turtle displays from Chinese aquariums and private individuals has led to a large-scale illegal trade domestically and internationally. Captive sea turtles are also frequently kept in harsh environments with severe injuries and high mortality rates. Sea turtles have only recently been upgraded from level II to level I on the "List of Wildlife under Special State Protection", this protection level has therefore not matched the real status of sea turtles over the past three decades. The additional collusion between the government and business corporations encourages illegal trade. Site fidelity refers to the restriction of dispersal distance of an animal and its tendency to return to a stationary site. To our knowledge, the homing ability of freshwater turtles and their fidelity is reportedly very low in Asia. We examined mark-recapture data spanning a 4-year period in Diaoluoshan National Nature Reserve, Hainan Province, China, to investigate the site fidelity and homing behavior of big-headed turtles Platysternon megacephalum . A total of 11 big-headed turtles were captured, and all individuals were used in this mark-recapture study. The site fidelity results showed that the adult big-headed turtles ( n  = 4) had a 71.43% recapture rate in the original site after their release at the same site, whereas the juveniles ( n  = 1) showed lower recapture rates (0%). Moreover, the homing behavior results showed that the adults ( n  = 5) had an 83.33% homing rate after displacement. Adult big-headed turtles were able to return to their initial capture sites (home) from 150 to 2,400 m away and precisely to their home sites from either upstream or downstream of their capture sites or even from other streams. However, none of the juveniles ( n  = 4) returned home, despite only being displaced 25-150 m away. These results indicated that the adult big-headed turtles showed high fidelity to their home site and strong homing ability. Micro/nanocolloidal is confirmed as a self-assembly structure in big eye tuna ( Thunnus obesus ) head soup, and lipids enriched with docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) are the major component. In this study, the effect of big eye tuna head soup (BETHS) with different particle size micro/nanocolloidal on lipid accumulation was initially evaluated. The original soup and microfiltration soup (with or without ginger; OGS/OGSG and MFS/MFSG) were prepared firstly. A free fatty acid-exposed (FFA-exposed) HepG2 cell model was built using sodium oleic acid (OA) and sodium palmitic acid (PA) (2:1). The triglyceride (TG) and total cholesterol (TC) in the FFA-exposed HepG2 cells were 8.6 ng/10 4  cells and 0.6 nM/10 4  cells, respectively, which were significantly different with control ( p  < .05). Both OGS and OGSG could significantly decline the TG deposition of FFA-exposed HepG2 cells with 31% and 40% ( p  < .05), and in MFS and MFSG were 23% and 26% ( p  ≥ .05). Meanwhile, OGS inhibited the deposition of TG mainly in 18-24 hr, and OGSG mainly in 12-18 hr. All the BETHS samples showed no inhibition effect on TC deposition ( p  ≥ .05).
