Abstract

Transfer and integration of nanostructures onto target substrates is the prerequisite for their fundamental studies and practical applications. Conventional transfer techniques that involve stamping, lift-off and/or striping suffer from the process-specific drawbacks, such as the requirement for chemical etchant or high-temperature annealing and the introduction of surface discontinuities and/or contaminations that can greatly hinder the properties and functions of the transferred materials. Herein, we report a universal and rapid transfer method implementable at mild conditions. Nanostructures with various dimensionalities (i.e. nanoparticles, nanowires and nanosheets) and surface properties (i.e. hydrophilic and hydrophobic) can be facilely transferred to diverse substrates including hydrophilic, hydrophobic and flexible surfaces with good fidelity. Importantly, our method ensures the rapid and clean transfer of two-dimensional (2D) materials, and allows for the facile fabrication of vertical heterostructures with various compositions used for electronic devices. 29. Stabilizing Carbon Dot Phosphorescence in Aqueous Solutions by Hydrogen-Bonded Networks for Dual-Wavelength-Driven Information Encryption.

Abstract

Room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP) holds tremendous potential in various fields such as optoelectronic devices, bioimaging, and information security applications. However, achieving efficient RTP in aqueous environments has been a challenge due to nonradiative deactivation caused by dissolved oxygen and solvent-induced relaxation. In this study, we propose a design strategy to enhance the phosphorescence emission of carbon dots (CDs) in aqueous solutions by constructing hydrogen-bonded networks between CDs and ammeline (AM). The formation of robust hydrogen-bonded networks, combined with the synergistic effect of bound water, significantly enhances the phosphorescence emission by stabilizing the triplet excited states of CDs. Furthermore, the prepared AM-CD suspension exhibits an exceptionally long phosphorescence lifetime of up to 697.58 ms, showcasing its potential applications in two-photon information encryption and decryption. Abstract

Neuromorphic vision based on photonic synapses has the ability to mimic sensitivity, adaptivity, and sophistication of bio‐visual systems. Significant advances in artificial photosynapses are achieved recently. However, conventional photosyanptic devices normally employ opaque metal conductors and vertical device configuration, performing a limited hemispherical field of view. Here, a transparent planar photonic synapse (TPPS) is presented that offers dual‐side photosensitive capability for nearly panoramic neuromorphic vision. The TPPS consisting of all two dimensional (2D) carbon‐based derivatives exhibits ultra‐broadband photodetecting (365–970 nm) and ≈360° omnidirectional viewing angle. With its intrinsic persistent photoconductivity effect, the detector possesses bio‐synaptic behaviors such as short/long‐term memory, experience learning, light adaptation, and a 171% pair‐pulse‐facilitation index, enabling the synapse array to achieve image recognition enhancement (92%) and moving object detection. Abstract

Tuning memory windows is vital for cross-bar memory architectures with low power and free cross-talk. Herein, we demonstrate a synergistic interface/electrode nanoengineering strategy to tune memory windows for low power operation and enhanced electrical readout in polymer devices; this approach is workable for most insulating or semiconducting polymeric mediums. Through customizing the resistivity of selectively reduced graphene oxide nanoelectrodes, an inherent sub μA current is recorded in the programming storage state. The nanocavity of the polymer interface can reduce the switching voltage due to local electric field enhancement, thus leading to tunable memory windows. By stacking a selector onto the memory, the vertical architecture features dynamic memory kinetics, enabling cross-talk-free readout by suppressing sneak leakage current paths. Abstract

Hybrid heterostructures are promising neurotransmitter platforms for photonic synapses in bioinspired optoelectronics. Organic–inorganic heterostructures have the features of a wide photoresponse and wet synthesis but still face poor stability and limited comprehensive performance. Here, it has been reported ultrastable and broadband photonic synaptic behaviors from solution‐processed cross‐linked conjugated polymer/zinc oxide nanorod heterostructures, which can be formed by in situ polymerization and hydrothermal methods. Light‐tunable synaptic function enables neuromorphic behaviors, such as high paired‐pulse facilitation, short‐ and long‐term plasticity, over the UV‐to‐visible spectral range. Impressively, the heterosynapse can maintain clear synaptic plasticity after being annealed in ambient air at 300 °C, showing robust thermal stability in harsh conditions. Moreover, visual perception and recognition can be mimicked with our synapse arrays, providing a reliable pathway to construct stable neurotransmitters toward practical neuromorphic optoelectronics.
