Abstract

FeTiO3has emerged as an interesting semiconductor photocatalyst in organic synthesis. We herein describe a visible-light-induced semiheterogeneous strategy for the synthesis of 3-(2-oxoethyl)indolin-2-ones with moderate to good yields and good functional group compatibility using recyclable FeTiO3as a photocatalyst and NHPI as a redox catalyst.

Abstract

The [4+3] annulation of aza‐o‐quinone methides and pyridinium 1,4‐zwitterionic thiolates has been developed for the one‐step synthesis of functionalized 2,3‐unsaturated 4,1‐benzothiazepines under mild and metal‐free conditions. The produced 4,1‐benzothiazepines can easily be converted into biologically interesting sulfoxides and sulfones via selective oxidization with m‐CPBA. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

27. Monte Carlo Study on Gas Pressure Response of He-3 Tube in Neutron Porosity Logging

Abstract

Thermal neutrons are detected by (n,p) reaction of Helium-3 tube in the compensated neutron logging. The helium gas pressure in the counting area influences neutron detection efficiency greatly, and then it is an important parameter for neutron porosity measurement accuracy. The variation law of counting rates of a near detector and a far one with helium gas pressure under different formation condition was simulated by Monte Carlo method. The results showed that with the increasing of helium pressure the counting rate of these detectors increased firstly and then leveled off. In addition, the neutron counting rate ratio and porosity sensitivity increased slightly, the porosity measurement error decreased exponentially, which improved the measurement accuracy. These research results can provide technical support for selecting the type of Helium-3 detector in developing neutron porosity logging.

28. Amine-Squaramide Catalyzed Asymmetric Michael Addition of Cyclic Diketones and β,γ-unsaturated α-keto Esters

Abstract

A novel tertiary amine squaramide has been successfully developed and applied to catalyze the asymmetric Michael addition between cyclic diketones and β,γ-unsaturated α-ketoesters. The catalyst system performed well with a low catalyst loading of 1 mol% under mild reaction conditions. A series of synthetically and pharmaceutically useful chiral bicyclic compounds were obtained with both high yields (up to 97%) and excellent enantioselectivities (up to 97% ee).

Abstract

The element content in rock sample can be determined by prompt gamma ray activation analysis technology. The neutron distributions under the conditions with different moderating materials, moderator size and distance from neutron source to lead-out hole were simulated using Monte Carlo method, and then the optimal structure parameters to get the highest thermal neutron flux was obtained. The PGNAA system with optimal parameters based on 252Cf neutron source was founded. In addition, the rock and element standard samples were irradiated by thermal neutron in this system. Moreover, the element content was calculated by processing gamma ray spectroscopy recorded, and it is in agreement with result of XRF method.

37. Monitoring remaining oil by using pulsed neutron dual spectrum logging technology and its application

Abstract

Summary Pulsed neutron logging technology has been widely used to determine remaining hydrocarbon saturation in the oil field. However, single measurement is only acquired according to formation conditions in one actual logging at present, which can result in the uncertainty of the interpretation of logging data. The pulsed neutron dual gamma spectrum saturation logging (PDSL) technology presented in this paper can simultaneously record the energy and time spectrum of gamma ray by means of a special design of pulse and measurement timing sequence. With this technology, the hydrocarbon saturation can be determined by using C/O, Σ or the cross-plot of C/O and Σ, in which oil-water-gas layer can be identified with unknown porosity information and the uncertainty of logging result is reduced. In addition, by using neutron lifetime spectrum obtained through a multi-exponent ial decay inversion algorithm according to gamma ray time spectrum, oil and water layer can be directly identified and the effect of borehole is eliminated. Finally, two examples are presented to illustrate the reliability of PDSL technology.
