Abstract

A rotor fault identification method integrating symbolic entropy and evidence theory was proposed for the problem of the difficulty to accurately identify the fault state caused by the nonlinearity and nonstationarity of the rotor vibration signal. Firstly, the fluctuation sequence was obtained by processing the recorded data of the rotor system by de-averaging and difference. Secondly the binary sequence was obtained by binary processing. Thirdly the symbol sequence was obtained by encoding to calculate the symbol entropy. In this paper, the code length in the calculation of symbol entropy was determined by an indicator of the relative growth rate of the mean value of symbol entropy. Through experimental analysis, the symbol entropy of the four channels of the rotor was used as the identification vector, and then compared with the identification standard vector obtained from the historical data to obtain the recognition probability of each state, and finally the results of two tests were fused through D-S evidence theory to obtain the final discriminatory result. Compared with the traditional fault identification method based on symbolic entropy, the proposed method can accurately identify the common states of the rotor system, providing a solution to the rotor fault state identification problem when the vibration signals are in nonlinear and nonstationary conditions.

46. A Meta-Analysis of the Factor Structure of the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS)

Abstract

The Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) has been used extensively to measure teacher-student interactions and classroom quality. With a theoretical foundation rooted in the developmental theory of learning, CLASS has three primary domains--Emotional Support, Classroom Organization, and Instructional Support. In this study, we performed a meta-analysis of the factor structure of CLASS using Cheung's two-stage structural equation modeling (TSSEM) approach. After searching the literature, we obtained 26 correlation matrices of the 10 dimensions shared by multiple versions of CLASS. This meta-analysis supports the three-factor model initially proposed by CLASS developers. The finding of this meta-analysis provides important evidence pertinent to the CLASS factor structure and has significant implications regarding the interpretation and use of CLASS scores.

Abstract

Background: Heart failure (HF) is generally associated with poor quality of life (QoL). Limited data are available characterizing health-related QoL (HRQL) in Chinese patients with HF. Methods: We used the Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire (MLHFQ) to record QoL in 4082 patients with HF from China who were followed up over 12 months in the Heart Failure Registry of Patient Outcomes (HERO) study. Baseline HRQL and differences in QoL between women and men with heart failure were compared. We used multivariable Cox regression with adjustment for variables to assess the association between MLHFQ summary scores and a composite of all-cause mortality and HF hospitalization. Result: At baseline, the mean MLHFQ in the overall population was 42.9 ± 19.57; the scores for physical and emotional domains were 22.0 ± 8.69 and 8.66 ± 6.08, respectively.
