Hypertension is commonly classified into essential hypertension and secondary hypertension, although definitive classification can be challenging in some cases. Here, we discussed a patient who admitted for refractory hypertension, exhibiting various clinical manifestations including inadequate estrogen secretion, underdeveloped secondary sexual characteristics, primary amenorrhea, short stature, multiple moles, and somatic abnormalities. The patient was finally diagnosed with Turner syndrome (TS) based on clinical findings and chromosomal analysis. The genetic karyotype identified was 46,X,i(X)(q10).

The pheochromocytoma is an uncommon endocrine neoplasm that originates from chromaffin cells and causes significant cardiovascular effects through the intermittent or sustained release of catecholamines. In this report, we present a rare case of myocardial infarction (MI) induced by pheochromocytoma. A 53-year-old female presented to the emergency department with a history of intermittent palpitations, back pain, and sweating for over 10 years, which had worsened over the past 2 days. The patient’s cardiac enzymes and troponin levels were significantly elevated, and the electrocardiogram (ECG) showed ST-segment elevation, leading to an initial diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction. Echocardiography revealed apical ballooning, indicative of stress cardiomyopathy. Emergency coronary angiography revealed no significant stenosis, and the patient’s blood pressure was fluctuating. Computerized tomography (CT) scan of the adrenal gland revealed a bilateral adrenal mass, with the left adrenal mass being larger in size after contrast-enhanced CT scan. The patient’s left adrenal gland was successfully removed through laparoscopic adrenalectomy, and histopathology results confirmed the presence of adrenal pheochromocytoma. Follow-up for 3 months after discharge showed the patient had no symptoms and good prognosis. The abnormal findings on echocardiography and ECG resolved. Prompt diagnosis and management of pheochromocytoma are crucial for a favorable prognosis.

In this work, expandable graphite (EG) was introduced to the composite of polypropylene/magnesium hydroxide (PP/MH) by melt compounding, fire performance, thermal degradation behavior, and acid resistance of the PP/MH/EG composites were investigated. The results demonstrate that the flame retardant efficiency of MH is very low by itself and there is a noticeable synergism between MH and EG in PP. The addition of proper EG can enhance flame retardancy, smoke suppression, and acid resistance of the PP/MH composite significantly at the same time. Replacing 8.7 wt% MH with 8.7 wt% EG reduces the filling grade needed for V-0 from 63 wt% MH to 56.5 wt% MH/EG mixture. The presence of EG on the composite surface hinders acid erosion of MH. There is no chemical reaction between MH and EG. Continuous intumescent char can be produced on the composite surface upon combustion, which is responsible for the much-improved flame retardancy and smoke suppression, regardless of the presence of MH on the surface area. Currently, the proportion of enterprise self-owned power plants (SPPs) is increasing, with a significant share occupied by small coal-fired units, severely affecting the absorption of new energy and causing substantial pollution. To address this issue, developing generation rights trading between SPPs and new energy enterprises is an effective solution. At present, research on generation rights trading is mainly based on early water and thermal generation rights replacement trading. This approach, to some extent, overlooks changes in electricity market policies. Based on this, a new generation rights trading bidding strategy incorporating price differences and time-of-use pricing settlement is proposed. Firstly, the relationship between price difference settlement and generation rights trading is studied and the win–win model of generation rights trading is improved. Secondly, in the time-of-use pricing settlement mode, the single bidding strategy is optimized with the objective of maximizing the total social benefits in the win–win model. Finally, an example analysis compares different bidding strategies under time-of-use pricing settlement. Even in the most extreme cases, the time-of-use bidding strategy can improve social benefits by 5.61% and reduce wind and solar curtailment by 7.25% compared to the single bid strategy. The results show that the optimized time-of-use bidding strategy significantly improves the efficiency of generation rights trading, greatly helping to promote the absorption of new energy and alleviate wind and solar power curtailment. Cardiac microvascular endothelial cells (CMECs) are important cells surrounding the cardiomyocytes in the heart that maintain microenvironment homeostasis. Salvianic acid A sodium (SAAS) has been reported to prevent myocardial infarction (MI) injury. However, the role of SAAS on CMEC proliferation remains unclear. CEMCs exposed to oxygen glucose deprivation (OGD) were used to explore the angiogenic abilities of SAAS. In vivo, C57BL/6 mice were divided into three groups: sham, MI and SAAS + MI groups. Compared to OGD group, SAAS led to a reduction in the apoptotic rate and an increase of the proliferation in vitro. Additionally, SAAS increased the protein levels of Bcl2, HIF‐1α and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) with the reduction of Bax. In terms of the specific mechanisms, SAAS might inhibit HIF‐1α ubiquitination and enhance the HIF‐1α/VEGF signalling pathway to increase CMEC proliferation. Furthermore, SAAS increased the density of vessels, inhibited myocardial fibrosis and improved cardiac dysfunction in vivo. Polypropylene (PP) was modified by expandable graphite (EG) and magnesium hydroxide (MH) to enhance its flame retardancy. The impact of EG particle size on fire behavior of PP/MH/EG ternary composite was studied in detail. The results reveal that EG synergizes markedly with MH in flame‐retarding PP. The PP/MH/EG composite with larger EG particle size displays better flame retardancy, smoke inhibition, acid resistivity, processability, and less toxic gas release upon combustion. The striking contrast derives from differences of charring behavior in condensed phase. The composite with larger EG particle size can produce intumescent char with larger expansion volume and better compactness and continuity, which hinders heat transfer inside polymer composite. Owing to much smaller expansion volume, the composite containing smaller EG particle size cannot generate effective fireproof barrier. As a consequence, this composite exhibits worse fire retardance and smoke inhibition in contrast with the composite with larger EG particle size. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
