Abstract

Real gas reservoirs have strong heterogeneities and usually have pore (hole) and fractured zones. They are difficult to develop and the invasion of edge-and-bottom water increases the complexity of the development. In order to be able to understand the water invasion law and development effect of the gas reservoirs with edge and bottom water. Different types and different permeability cores are selected to characterize the effect of the gas reservoir under the condition of inhomogeneous and the effect of different development methods. The results show that: Both arrange wells in high and low permeability zones can obtain the higher recovery factor. During the development process, the gas production rate of the high permeability zone should be limited to avoid the rapid coning of the formation water along the high permeability zone, resulting in the premature flooding of the gas reservoir. Different development order have little difference between water influx and water production, but if first develop low-permeability zone and then product high-permeability zone, it will have higher levels of water recovery and final recovery; High permeability zone do not shut the wells after water breakthrough can effectively increase the recovery of gas reservoirs, but it faces the problem of produced water treatment. The experimental results provide a basis for understanding the influence of different factors on the water invasion regularity of multiwell development and optimizing the production of the bottom water gas reservoirs.

29. A new method for well pattern density optimization and recovery efficiency evaluation of tight sandstone gas reservoirs

Abstract

For the sake of improving the reliability of the method for well pattern density optimization of tight sandstone gas reservoir and effectively demonstrate the relationship between well pattern density and recovery efficiency, the well interference probability curve of the target study area in the Sulige Gas Field was plotted by establishing the calculation method for well interference probability. Then, a new method suitable for well pattern density optimization and recovery efficiency evaluation of tight sandstone gas reservoirs was established. Finally, this new method was applied in three encryption test areas of the Sulige Gas Field. And the following research results were obtained. First, the well interference probability of tight sandstone gas reservoir is heavily dependent on the well pattern density. With the increase of the well pattern density, the well interference probability presents a gradual increasing trend. And the well interference probability doesn't reach or approach to 1 until the well pattern density reaches a higher value. Second, in the three encryption test areas of the Sulige Gas Field, the economically optimal well pattern density is in the range of 2.6–3.1 wells/km2, and its corresponding recovery efficiency is 36.6–39.8% and corresponding well interference probability is 28–33%, while the economic limit well pattern density is in the range of 5.2–6.6 wells/km2, and its corresponding recovery efficiency is 46.8–49.8% and corresponding well interference probability is 83–89%. Third, the well interference probability corresponding to the economically optimal well pattern density of tight sandstone gas reservoir in the Sulige Gas Field is about 30%, and that corresponding to the economic limit well pattern density is about 85%. In conclusion, by virtue of this new method, the economically optimal well pattern density and the economic limit well pattern density and their corresponding recovery efficiencies can be calculated, so as to realize the well pattern optimization and recovery efficiency evaluation of tight sandstone gas reservoirs. The research results can provide theoretical support for the economic and efficient development of the Sulige Gas Field, and useful reference for the benefit development of the same type of gas reservoirs.

30. Research and application effect analysis on water-drive characteristic curve for water-drive gas reservoir.

Abstract

Water/gas-yielding rules in the water-drive gas reservoir become complicated after water breakthrough, which results in the increasing difficulty of the water-drive gas reservoir development. At present, there is no mature and effective dynamic analysis method in developing the water-drive gas reservoir. Based on the gas-water two-phase flow law and the material balance equation, the water-drive characteristic curve of water-drive gas reservoir was developed in this paper, in which the cumulative gas production is in logarithmic relation with gas-water ratio, and in linear relation on semi-logarithmic coordinates. And the dynamic control reserve of gas well after water breakthrough can be inversely calculated by the slope of the line. By the application on a certain gas field, the research results were proved to be able to effectively predict the gas wells development performance and the dynamic control reserve variation during development.
