Recent advances in unsupervised representation learning often rely on knowing the number of classes to improve feature extraction and clustering. However, this assumption raises an important question: is the number of classes always necessary, and do class labels fully capture the fine-grained features within the data? In this paper, we propose Contrastive Disentangling (CD), a framework designed to learn representations without relying on class priors. CD leverages a multi-level contrastive learning strategy, integrating instance-level and feature-level contrastive losses with a normalized entropy loss to capture semantically rich and fine-grained representations. Specifically, (1) the instance-level contrastive loss separates feature representations across samples; (2) the feature-level contrastive loss promotes independence among feature heads; and (3) the normalized entropy loss ensures feature diversity and prevents feature collapse. Extensive experiments on CIFAR-10, CIFAR-100, STL-10, and ImageNet-10 demonstrate that CD outperforms existing methods in scenarios where class information is unavailable or ambiguous. In iron-based superconductor Fe(Se,Te), a flat band-like feature near the Fermi level was observed around the Brillouin zone center in the superconducting state. It is under debate whether this is the evidence on the presence of the BCS-BEC crossover in the superconductor. High-resolution laser-based angle-resolved photoemission measurements are carried out on high quality single crystals of FeSe0.45Te0.55 superconductor to address the issue. By employing different polarization geometries, we have resolved and isolated the dyz band and the topological surface band, making it possible to study their superconducting behaviors separately. The dyz band alone does not form a flat band-like feature in the superconducting state and the measured dispersion can be well described by the BCS picture. We find that the flat band-like feature is formed from the combination of the dyz band and the topological surface state band in the superconducting state. These results reveal the origin of the flat band-like feature and rule out the presence of BCS-BEC crossover in Fe(Se,Te) superconductor.

In high temperature cuprate superconductors, it was found that in the overdoped region the superfluid density decreases with the increase of hole doping. One natural question is whether there exists normal fluid in the superconducting state in the overdoped region. In this paper, we have carried out high-resolution ultra-low temperature laser-based angle-resolved photoemission measurements on a heavily overdoped Bi2212 sample with a $T_{\mathrm{c}}$ of 48 K. We find that this heavily overdoped Bi2212 remains in the strong coupling regime with $2 \mathit{\Delta}_0 / k_{\mathrm{B}} T_{\mathrm{c}}=5.8$. The single-particle scattering rate is very small along the nodal direction ($\sim$5 meV) and increases as the momentum moves from the nodal to the antinodal regions. A hard superconducting gap opening is observed near the antinodal region with the spectral weight at the Fermi level fully suppressed to zero. The normal fluid is found to be negligibly small in the superconducting state of this heavily overdoped Bi2212. The MRI-derived brain network serves as a pivotal instrument in elucidating both the structural and functional aspects of the brain, encompassing the ramifications of diseases and developmental processes. However, prevailing methodologies, often focusing on synchronous BOLD signals from functional MRI (fMRI), may not capture directional influences among brain regions and rarely tackle temporal functional dynamics. In this study, we first construct the brain-effective network via the dynamic causal model. Subsequently, we introduce an interpretable graph learning framework termed Spatio-Temporal Embedding ODE (STE-ODE). This framework incorporates specifically designed directed node embedding layers, aiming at capturing the dynamic interplay between structural and effective networks via an ordinary differential equation (ODE) model, which characterizes spatial-temporal brain dynamics. Our framework is validated on several clinical phenotype prediction tasks using two independent publicly available datasets (HCP and OASIS). The experimental results clearly demonstrate the advantages of our model compared to several state-of-the-art methods.

The newly discovered Kagome superconductors AV$_3$Sb$_5$ (A=K, Rb and Cs) continue to bring surprises in generating unusual phenomena and physical properties, including anomalous Hall effect, unconventional charge density wave, electronic nematicity and time-reversal symmetry breaking. Here we report an unexpected emergence of multiple flat bands in the AV$_3$Sb$_5$ superconductors. By performing high-resolution angle-resolved photoemission (ARPES) measurements, we observed four branches of flat bands that span over the entire momentum space. The appearance of the flat bands is not anticipated from the band structure calculations and cannot be accounted for by the known mechanisms of flat band generation. It is intimately related to the evolution of van Hove singularities. It is for the first time to observe such emergence of multiple flat bands in solid materials. Our findings provide new insights in revealing the underlying mechanism that governs the unusual behaviors in the Kagome superconductors. Few-shot learning, a challenging task in machine learning, aims to learn a classifier adaptable to recognize new, unseen classes with limited labeled examples. Meta-learning has emerged as a prominent framework for few-shot learning. Its training framework is originally a task-level learning method, such as Model-Agnostic Meta-Learning (MAML) and Prototypical Networks. And a recently proposed training paradigm called Meta-Baseline, which consists of sequential pre-training and meta-training stages, gains state-of-the-art performance. However, as a non-end-to-end training method, indicating the meta-training stage can only begin after the completion of pre-training, Meta-Baseline suffers from higher training cost and suboptimal performance due to the inherent conflicts of the two training stages. To address these limitations, we propose an end-to-end training paradigm consisting of two alternative loops. In the outer loop, we calculate cross entropy loss on the entire training set while updating only the final linear layer. In the inner loop, we employ the original meta-learning training mode to calculate the loss and incorporate gradients from the outer loss to guide the parameter updates. This training paradigm not only converges quickly but also outperforms existing baselines, indicating that information from the overall training set and the meta-learning training paradigm could mutually reinforce one another. In three dimensions, quasi-one-dimensional (Q1D) transport has traditionally been associated with systems featuring a Q1D chain structure. Here, based on first-principle calculations, we go beyond this understanding to show that the Q1D transport can also be realized in certain three-dimensional (3D) altermagnetic (AM) metals with a topological nodal net in momentum space but lacking Q1D chain structure in real space, including the existing compounds $\beta$-Fe$_2$(PO$_4$)O, Co$_2$(PO$_4$)O, and LiTi$_2$O$_4$. These materials exhibit an AM ground state and feature an ideal crossed $Z^3$ Weyl nodal line in each spin channel around Fermi level, formed by three straight and flat nodal lines traversing the entire Brillouin zone. These nodal lines eventually lead to an AM $Z^3$ nodal net. Surprisingly, the electronic conductivity $\sigma_{xx}$ in these topological nodal net metals is dozens of times larger than $\sigma_{yy}$ and $\sigma_{zz}$ in the up-spin channel, while $\sigma_{yy}$ dominates transport in the down-spin channel. This suggests a distinctive Q1D transport signature in each spin channel, and the principal moving directions for the two spin channels are orthogonal, resulting in Q1D direction-dependent spin transport. This novel phenomenon cannot be found in both conventional 3D bulk materials and Q1D chain materials. In particular, the Q1D spin transport gradually disappears as the Fermi energy moves away from the nodal net, further confirming its topological origin. Our work not only enhances the comprehension of topological physics in altermagnets but also opens a new direction for the exploration of topological spintronics.

Data selection in instruction tuning emerges as a pivotal process for acquiring high-quality data and training instruction-following large language models (LLMs), but it is still a new and unexplored research area for vision-language models (VLMs). Existing data selection approaches on LLMs either rely on single unreliable scores, or use downstream tasks for selection, which is time-consuming and can lead to potential over-fitting on the chosen evaluation datasets. To address this challenge, we introduce a novel dataset selection method, Self-Filter, that utilizes the VLM itself as a filter. This approach is inspired by the observation that VLMs benefit from training with the most challenging instructions. Self-Filter operates in two stages. In the first stage, we devise a scoring network to evaluate the difficulty of training instructions, which is co-trained with the VLM. In the second stage, we use the trained score net to measure the difficulty of each instruction, select the most challenging samples, and penalize similar samples to encourage diversity. Comprehensive experiments on LLaVA and MiniGPT-4 show that Self-Filter can reach better results compared to full data settings with merely about 15% samples, and can achieve superior performance against competitive baselines., Comment: 9 pages, 3 figures, 4 tables

Due to the flexibility of C and N atoms in forming different types of bonds, the prediction of new two-dimensional (2D) carbon nitrides is a hot topic in the field of carbon-based materials. Using first-principles calculations, we propose two C4N monolayers with a zigzag buckled (ZB) structure. The ZB C4N monolayers contain raised-C (raised-N) atoms with sp3 hybridization, different from the traditional 2D graphene-like carbon nitride materials with sp2 hybridization. Interestingly, the band structures of the ZB C4N monolayers exhibit quasi-one-dimensional (quasi-1D) Dirac nodal line that results from the corresponding quasi-1D structure of the zigzag carbon chains, which is essentially different from the more common ring-shaped nodal line. The quasi-1D Dirac nodal line exhibits the following features: (i) gapless Dirac points, (ii) varying Fermi velocity, and (iii) slightly curved band along the high-symmetry path. All these features are successfully explained by our proposed tight-binding model that includes interactions up to the third nearest-neighbor. The Fermi velocity of the 2D system can reach 105 m/s, which is promising for applications in high-speed electronic devices. The topological flat band structure determined by the Zak phase and band inversion of the corresponding 1D system is edge-dependent, which is corresponding to the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger model, providing to rich physical phenomena., Comment: 31 pages, 8 figures

This technical report delves into the application of GPT-4 Vision (GPT-4V) in the nuanced realm of COVID-19 image classification, leveraging the transformative potential of in-context learning to enhance diagnostic processes.

The latest discovery of high temperature superconductivity near 80K in La3Ni2O7 under high pressure has attracted much attention. Many proposals are put forth to understand the origin of superconductivity.The determination of electronic structures is a prerequisite to establish theories to understand superconductivity in nickelates but is still lacking. Here we report our direct measurement of the electronic structures of La3Ni2O7 by high-resolution angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy. The Fermi surface and band structures of La3Ni2O7 are observed and compared with the band structure calculations. Strong electron correlations are revealed which are orbital- and momentum dependent. A flat band is formed from the Ni-3dz2 orbitals around the zone corner which is ~50meV below the Fermi level and exhibits the strongest electron correlation. In many theoretical proposals, this band is expected to play the dominant role in generating superconductivity in La3Ni2O7. Class activation maps are widely used for explaining deep neural networks. Due to its ability to highlight regions of interest, it has evolved in recent years as a key step in weakly supervised learning. A major limitation to the performance of the class activation maps is the small spatial resolution of the feature maps in the last layer of the convolutional neural network. Therefore, we expect to generate high-resolution feature maps that result in high-quality semantic information. In this paper, we rethink the properties of semantic information in shallow feature maps. We find that the shallow feature maps still have fine-grained non-discriminative features while mixing considerable non-target noise. Furthermore, we propose a simple gradient-based denoising method to filter the noise by truncating the positive gradient. Our proposed scheme can be easily deployed in other CAM-related methods, facilitating these methods to obtain higher-quality class activation maps. We evaluate the proposed approach through a weakly-supervised semantic segmentation task, and a large number of experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach.

Superconductivity is realized by opening a gap in the superconducting state. The gap symmetry is crucial in understanding the underlying superconductivity mechanism. The magnitude and the phase are essential in fully characterizing the superconducting gap. Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) has played a key role in determining the gap symmetry in unconventional superconductors. However, it has been considered so far that ARPES can only measure the magnitude of the superconducting gap but not its phase; the phase has to be detected by other phase-sensitive techniques. Here we propose a new method to directly detect the superconducting gap sign by using ARPES. This method is successfully validated in a cuprate superconductor with a well-known $d$-wave gap symmetry. When two bands are nearby in momentum space and have a strong interband interaction, the resulted electronic structures in the superconducting state are sensitive to the relative gap sign between the two bands which can be captured by ARPES measurements. Our present work provides a new way to detect the gap sign and can be applied to various superconductors, particularly those with multiple orbitals like the iron-based superconductors. It also makes ARPES more powerful to determine both the gap magnitude and the phase that are significant in understanding the superconductivity mechanism of unconventional superconductors., Comment: 22 pages, 4 figures

Online segmentation of laser-induced damage on large-aperture optics in high-power laser facilities is challenged by complicated damage morphology, uneven illumination and stray light interference. Fully supervised semantic segmentation algorithms have achieved state-of-the-art performance, but rely on plenty of pixel-level labels, which are time-consuming and labor-consuming to produce. LayerCAM, an advanced weakly supervised semantic segmentation algorithm, can generate pixel-accurate results using only image-level labels, but its scattered and partially under-activated class activation regions degrade segmentation performance. In this paper, we propose a weakly supervised semantic segmentation method with Continuous Gradient CAM and its nonlinear multi-scale fusion (CG-fusion CAM). The method redesigns the way of back-propagating gradients and non-linearly activates the multi-scale fused heatmaps to generate more fine-grained class activation maps with appropriate activation degree for different sizes of damage sites. Experiments on our dataset show that the proposed method can achieve segmentation performance comparable to that of fully supervised algorithms.

The clinical notes are usually typed into the system by physicians. They are typically required to be marked by standard medical codes, and each code represents a diagnosis or medical treatment procedure. Annotating these notes is time consuming and prone to error. In this paper, we proposed a multi-view attention based Neural network to predict medical codes from clinical texts. Our method incorporates three aspects of information, the semantic context of the clinical text, the relationship among the label (medical codes) space, and the alignment between each pair of a clinical text and medical code. Our method is verified to be effective on the open source dataset. The experimental result shows that our method achieves better performance against the prior state-of-art on multiple metrics.

The discovery of the topological states has become a key topic in condensed matter physics with the focus evolving from the Dirac or Weyl points to high-dimension topological states of the nodal lines and nodal surfaces. For a topological material to manifest its quantum properties and become useful in applications, the topological states need to be genuine and clean so that they lie close to the Fermi level without other trivial bands existing at the Fermi level. While a number of high-dimension topological materials are predicted, only a few of them have been synthesized and confirmed and the genuine and clean ones are especially scarce. Here we report the realization of the genuine clean multiple high-dimension topological states in NaAlSi. By performing high-resolution angle-resolved photoemission measurements and band structure calculations, we have observed two sets of nodal surfaces and the formation of two homocentric nodal ring states in NaAlSi. The observed nodal rings are distinct in that the inner one is a type-{\uppercase\expandafter{\romannumeral1}} nodal ring while the outer one is a type-{\uppercase\expandafter{\romannumeral1}} nodal ring embedded with four type-{\uppercase\expandafter{\romannumeral3}} nodal points. All the bands involved in the nodal rings lie very close to the Fermi level with no other trivial bands coexisting at the Fermi level. These observations make NaAlSi a desirable topological material to explore for novel quantum states and exotic properties.

The superconductor SnTaS$_{2}$ is theoretically predicted to be an intriguing topological nodal line semimetal without consideration of spin-orbit coupling. By carrying out angle-resolved photoemission (ARPES) and spin-resolved ARPES measurements combined with band structure calculations, we have provided a complete picture of the electronic structure and spin polarization property for the prominent surface states of SnTaS$_{2}$. The low-energy electronic states are dominated by surface states; two of them are from the S-terminated surface, while four of them are from the Sn-terminated surface. These give rise to interesting Fermi surface topology of SnTaS$_{2}$: three pockets located at $\bar\Gamma$, $\bar{M}$ and $\bar{K}$ for the S-terminated surface and two pockets surrounding $\bar\Gamma$ and $\bar{K}$ for the Sn-terminated surface. We further reveal that two surface states that cross the Fermi level are spin-polarized. Since SnTaS$_{2}$ is also a superconductor, our observations indicate that it may provide a new platform to explore topological superconductivity and other exotic properties.

Electrides are a unique class of electron-rich materials where excess electrons are localized in interstitial lattice sites as anions, leading to a range of unique properties and applications. While hundreds of electrides have been discovered in recent years, magnetic electrides have received limited attention, with few investigations into their fundamental physics and practical applications. In this work, 51 magnetic electrides (12 antiferromagnetic, 13 ferromagnetic, and 26 interstitial-magnetic) were identified using high-throughput computational screening methods and the latest Material Project database. Based on their compositions, these magnetic electrides can be classified as magnetic semiconductors, metals, or half-metals, each with unique topological states and excellent catalytic performance for N2 fixation due to their low work functions and excess electrons. The novel properties of magnetic electrides suggest potential applications in spintronics, topological electronics, electron emission, and as high-performance catalysts. This work marks the beginning of a new era in the identification, investigation, and practical applications of magnetic electrides.

Real Chern insulators have attracted great interest, but so far, their material realization is limited to nonmagnetic crystals and to systems without spin-orbit coupling. Here, we reveal magnetic real Chern insulator (MRCI) state in a recently synthesized metal-organic framework material Co3(HITP)2. Its ground state with in-plane ferromagnetic ordering hosts a nontrivial real Chern number, enabled by the C2zT symmetry and robust against spin-orbit coupling. Distinct from previous nonmagnetic examples, the topological corner zero-modes of MRCI are spin-polarized. Furthermore, under small tensile strains, the material undergoes a topological phase transition from MRCI to a magnetic double-Weyl semimetal phase, via a pseudospin-1 critical state. Similar physics can also be found in closely related materials Mn3(HITP)2 and Fe3(HITP)2, which are also existing. With the growing model size, deep neural networks (DNN) are increasingly trained over massive GPU accelerators, which demands a proper parallelization plan that transforms a DNN model into fine-grained tasks and then schedules them to GPUs for execution. Due to the large search space, the contemporary parallelization plan generators often rely on empirical rules that couple transformation and scheduling, and fall short in exploring more flexible schedules that yield better memory usage and compute efficiency. This tension can be exacerbated by the emerging models with increasing complexity in their structure and model size. SuperScaler is a system that facilitates the design and generation of highly flexible parallelization plans. It formulates the plan design and generation into three sequential phases explicitly: model transformation, space-time scheduling, and data dependency preserving. Such a principled approach decouples multiple seemingly intertwined factors and enables the composition of highly flexible parallelization plans. As a result, SuperScaler can not only generate empirical parallelization plans, but also construct new plans that achieve up to 3.5X speedup compared to state-of-the-art solutions like DeepSpeed, Megatron and Alpa, for emerging DNN models like Swin-Transformer and AlphaFold2, as well as well-optimized models like GPT-3.

Topological states of matter and their corresponding properties are classical research topics in condensed matter physics. Quite recently, the application of materials that feature these states has been extended to the field of electrochemical catalysis and become an emerging research topic that is receiving increasing interest. In particular, several recent experimental studies performed on topological semimetals have already revealed high catalytic performance towards hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), strongly promoting acceptance of the fresh concept of the topological catalyst. This emerging concept has experienced rapid developments in the last few years, but these developments have been rarely summarized. Herein, we offer a comprehensive review on the state-of-the-art progress in developing topological catalysts for the HER process through topological semimetals such as Weyl semimetals, Dirac semimetals, nodal line semimetals, etc. The course of development, the general research routes, and the fundamental mechanisms in topological catalysts are also systematically analyzed in this review., Comment: 4 figures

A kagome lattice of 3d transition metals hosts flat bands, Dirac fermions and saddle points. It provides a versatile platform for achieving topological superconductivity, anomalous Hall effect, unconventional density wave order and quantum spin liquid when the strong correlation, spin-orbit coupling or magnetic order are involved in such a lattice. Here, using laser-based angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy in combination with density functional theory calculations, we investigate the electronic structure of the newly discovered kagome superconductor CsTi$_3$Bi$_5$, which is isostructural to the AV$_3$Sb$_5$ (A=K, Rb or Cs) kagome superconductors and possesses a perfect two-dimensional kagome network of Titanium. We directly observed a strikingly flat band derived from the local destructive interferences of Bloch wave functions within the kagome lattices. We also identify the type-II Dirac nodal loops around the Brillouin zone center, the type-III Dirac nodal loops around the zone corners and type-III Dirac nodal lines along the k$_z$ direction. In addition, around the Brillouin zone center, Z2 nontrivial topological surface states are also observed which is formed from the band inversion due to strong spin orbital coupling. The simultaneous existence of such multi-sets of nontrivial band structures in one kagome superconductor not only provides good opportunities to study related physics in the kagome lattice but also makes CsTi$_3$Bi$_5$ an ideal system to realize noval quantum phenomena by manipulating its chemical potential with chemical doping or pressure.

The origin of the high temperature superconductivity in the iron-based superconductors remains elusive after being extensively studied for more than a decade. Determination of the pairing symmetry is essential in understanding the superconductivity mechanism. In the iron-based superconductors that have hole pockets around the Brillouin zone center and electron pockets around the zone corners, the pairing symmetry is generally considered to be s$_\pm$, endowing a sign change in the superconducting gap between the hole and electron pockets. For the iron-based superconductors with only hole pockets, however, a couple of pairing scenarios have been proposed but the exact symmetry is still highly controversial. Here we report our determination of the pairing symmetry in KFe$_2$As$_2$ which is a prototypical iron-based superconductor with hole pockets both around the zone center and around the zone corners. By taking laser-based angle resolved photoemission measurements with super-high resolution and at ultra-low temperature, we have precisely determined the superconducting gap distribution and identified the locations of the gap nodes on all the Fermi surface around the zone center and the zone corners. The complete superconducting gap structure, in combination with the observation of the spin resonance in neutron scattering, provides strong evidence on the s$_\pm$ pairing symmetry in KFe$_2$As$_2$ with a gap sign reversal between the hole pockets around the zone center and the hole pockets around the zone corners. These results unify the pairing symmetry in the hole-doped iron-based superconductors and point to the spin fluctuation as the pairing glue in generating superconductivity.

Optical focusing through scattering media has important implications for optical applications in medicine, communications, and detection. In recent years, many wavefront shaping methods have been successfully applied to the field, among which the population optimization algorithm has achieved remarkable results. However, the current population optimization algorithm has some drawbacks: 1. the offspring do not fully inherit the good genes from the parent. 2. more efforts are needed to tune the parameters. In this paper, we propose the mutate greedy algorithm. It combines greedy strategies and real-time feedback of mutation rates to generate offspring. In wavefront shaping, people can realize high enhancement and fast convergence without a parameter-tuning process.

In high temperature cuprate superconductors, it was found that the superconducting transition temperature Tc depends on the number of CuO2 planes (n) in the structural unit and the maximum Tc is realized in the trilayer system (n=3). It was also found that the trilayer superconductors exhibit an unusual phase diagram that Tc keeps nearly constant in the overdoped region which is in strong contrast to the Tc decrease usually found in other cuprate superconductors. The electronic origin of the Tc maximization in the trilayer superconductors and its high Tc persistence in the overdoped region remains unclear. By taking high resolution laser-based angle resolved photoemission (ARPES) measurements, here we report our revelation of the microscopic origin of the unusual superconducting properties in the trilayer superconductors. For the first time we have observed the trilayer splitting in Bi2Sr2Ca2Cu3O10+d (Bi2223) superconductor. The observed Fermi surface, band structures, superconducting gap and the selective Bogoliubov band hybridizations can be well described by a three-layer interaction model. Quantitative information of the microscopic processes involving intra- and interlayer hoppings and pairings are extracted. The electronic origin of the maximum Tc in Bi2223 and the persistence of the high Tc in the overdoped region is revealed. These results provide key insights in understanding high Tc superconductivity and pave a way to further enhance Tc in the cuprate superconductors.

Multimode fibres offer the advantages of high resolution and miniaturization over single mode fibers in the field of optical imaging. However, multimode fibre's imaging is susceptible to perturbations of MMF that can lead to secondary spatial distortions in the transmitted image. Perturbations include random disturbances in the fiber as well as environmental noise. Here, we exploit the fast focusing capability of the Cake-Cutting Hadamard coding algorithm to counteract the effects of perturbations and improve the system's robustness. Simulation shows that it can approach the theoretical enhancement at 2000 measurements. Experimental results show that the algorithm can help the system to refocus in a short time when MMFs are perturbed. This research will further contribute to using multimode fibres in medicine, communication, and detection.

The pseudogap state is one of the most enigmatic characteristics in the anomalous normal state properties of the high temperature cuprate superconductors. A central issue is to reveal whether there is a symmetry breaking and which symmetries are broken across the pseudogap transition. By performing high resolution laser-based angle-resolved photoemission measurements on the optimally-doped Bi2Sr1.6La0.4CuO6+{\delta} superconductor, we report the observations of the particle-hole symmetry conservation in both the superconducting state and the pseudogap state along the entire Fermi surface. These results provide key insights in understanding the nature of the pseudogap and its relation with high temperature superconductivity.

Model-Agnostic Meta-Learning (MAML) is a famous few-shot learning method that has inspired many follow-up efforts, such as ANIL and BOIL. However, as an inductive method, MAML is unable to fully utilize the information of query set, limiting its potential of gaining higher generality. To address this issue, we propose a simple yet effective method that generates psuedo-labels adaptively and could boost the performance of the MAML family. The proposed methods, dubbed Generative Pseudo-label based MAML (GP-MAML), GP-ANIL and GP-BOIL, leverage statistics of the query set to improve the performance on new tasks. Specifically, we adaptively add pseudo labels and pick samples from the query set, then re-train the model using the picked query samples together with the support set. The GP series can also use information from the pseudo query set to re-train the network during the meta-testing.
