Abstract

In order to reduce carbon emissions and the impact of source-load uncertainty on system operation, a multi-timescale low-carbon optimization scheduling strategy in day-ahead, intra-day and real-time operations for energy hub (EH) based on a reward-punishment ladder carbon price mechanism and distributed model predictive control (DMPC) is proposed. A reward-punishment ladder carbon price calculation method is introduced and a day-ahead low-carbon optimization scheduling model for EH is constructed. A feedback closed-loop optimization strategy based on DMPC for intra-day rolling and real-time adjustments is formulated. The optimization strategy reduces source-load prediction errors and improves the efficiency of traditional model predictive control (MPC) solving. In the intra-day stage, a rolling optimization model with the objective of minimizing the sum of the ladder carbon price cost, operational cost, and penalty cost for energy storage adjustment is constructed. In the real-time stage, the overall optimization problem is decomposed, and a multi-agent real-time adjustment model based on DMPC is established. The simulation results indicate that the proposed strategy is effective in enhancing the economic efficiency of the system, reducing the uncertainty of source and load, and achieving the low-carbon, economic, stable, and reliable operation for EH.

Abstract

Magnesium hydride (MgH2) has attracted considerable interest due to a number of favourable characteristics for hydrogen production via hydrolysis. In this study, MgH2-NaH composites with varying composition ratios were prepared by ball milling for different durations. The hydrogen production performances and enhancement mechanisms were subjected to meticulous investigation. The results revealed that the hydrogen production rate and kinetic properties of the composites were significantly improved with the rise in NaH content. For the MgH2-10 wt% NaH composites, the hydrogen production rate exhibited an initial increase followed by a subsequent decrease with the prolongation of ball milling. It is noteworthy that the hydrolysis of the composites in deionised water exhibited a significant improvement in reaction kinetics even after a mere 1 h of ball milling, releasing 1119 mL g−1 of hydrogen in 30 s, with a conversion rate of 69.2%. The highest hydrolysis hydrogen generation rate of the 10 h milled MgH2-10 wt% NaH composite in deionised water at 30 °C was 1360 mL g−1, with a hydrogen conversion rate of 83.7% and a hydrolysis activation energy of 17.79 kJ mol−1. The notable improvement in the hydrolysis performance of the MgH2-NaH composite is attributed to the rapid generation of high temperatures at the interface, resulting from the exothermic reaction of sodium hydride hydrolysis. Abstract

Mpox (formerly known as monkeypox) is a zoonotic disease caused by monkeypox virus (MPXV), a DNA virus belonging to the Orthopoxvirus genus, in the Poxviridae family. The disease constitutes a moderate risk to public health at the global level. The MPXV A29L protein plays a crucial role in coordinating virion assembly and facilitating important virus-host interactions. This study focused on the expression, purification, and recombinant protein synthesis of the A29L protein of MPXV using prokaryotic systems. Using hybridoma technology, we successfully generated the monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) 1E12 and 4B2, which specifically recognize the A29L protein. These mAbs were found to be suitable for use in indirect immunofluorescence assays (IFA), Western blotting, and immunoprecipitation (IP). Our investigation also revealed that mAbs 1E12 and 4B2 could detect the A27L protein, a homologous protein found in the vaccinia virus Western Reserve (VACV WR) strain, using IFA, Western blotting, and immunoprecipitation (IP). Using mAbs 1E12 and 4B2 as primary immunological probes, A27L protein expression was detected as early as 6 h postinfection with VACV WR, with increasing protein levels being observed throughout the infection.
