Purpose To estimate whether levator ani injuries increase the risk of de novo urinary stress incontinence after cystocele repairing surgery. Methods A total of 1124 women who were underwent cystocele repaired surgeries were recruited and assessed for eligibility from January,1,2012 to April,30,2021. All data related to patients and surgeries was collected and followed-up, which included general conditions, clinical examination, ultrasound results and follow-up results. Data was compared according to the follow up results. The relative risk (RR) of de novo urinary stress incontinence (SUI) with levator avulsion was calculated. Results 336 women were involved eventually. They were divided into no complication group (n=249), de novo SUI group (n=68) and other complications group (n=19). It seemed elder or obese women were more likely to get poor results after TVM repair (p＜0.05). In de novo SUI group, incidence of levator avulsion before surgery were higher than the other two groups(p=0.001). TVM can significantly change a prolapse to point Aa and Ba on POP-Q (p＜0.05). RR ratios of de novo SUI with unilateral avulsion group is 2.60 (95%CI 1.39-4.87), and 2.58(95%CI 0.82 -8.15) for bilateral group. Conclusion Unilateral levator avulsion is a risk factor of de novo SUI after cystocele repair surgery.

Kidney stone is a common disease nowadays, whose main component is calcium oxalate. A large amount of people eagerly to supply calcium from the dietary food, however, they are still afraid of kidney stone. In addition, some patients with kidney stones are suggested to decrease the calcium intake but there are newly search which recommends to not cut down it. We wondered whether the kidney stones are associated with calcium intake in daily life. This study investigates the relation between calcium intake and kidney stone. We supposed that the calcium intake is linked to kidney stone. People, who participated in the NHANES, from 2015 to 2018, were included and they were screened by the constraints. Multi-variable logistic regression was used to assess the association between calcium intake and kidney stone, adjusting for other confounding factors. At the same time, to conduct stratification studies, we took calcium intake as a continuous variable and classification variables respectively. In the muti-variate analysis, calcium in food had no connection with kidney stone([odds ratio] 0.9999, [confidence interval] 0.9998-1.001 in model 3 which is fully adjusted. During the trend test, there was no prominent difference from calcium quality from Q1 to Q4 in those 3 models and the muti-variate analysis separated by confounding factors might affect the result according to the univariate analysis, we found there was no disparity. So, we conclude that having the history of kidney stone is no connection with calcium intake.

With food industry developing so fast around the world and food delivery becomes popular among young adults, people today tend to have meals that are not prepared at home. However, it reminds people to rethink about their body health especially gastric health. In this case, we decided to find out the association between the frequency of having meals not home prepared and the risk of having stomach or intestinal illness. We assumed that people who had meals away from home would be more likely to suffer from gastric diseases. 19,293 adults over twenty years old participated in diet and health questionnaires according to NHANES database from 2011 to 2018. Multivariable regression was used to measure the association between the frequency of having meals out and the risk of having gastric diseases by using Empower Stats. According to the p values and odds ratio values given by Empower Stats, no significant association between the exposure variable and the outcome variable was found. Thus, we drew a conclusion that there was no association between the frequency of eating out and the risk of having gastric diseases.

Background Poa L. is a large genus of grass in Gramineae, among which P. pratensis is widely cultivated as turf and forage. Satellite DNA is the main components of the plant genome. Information of satellites will helpful for dissection the genome composition and definition of the phylogeny relationship of these species. However, the knowledge about the satellites in genus Poa is still limited. Results Four satellite DNAs were identified using the Repeat Explorer pipeline in HiSeq Illumina reads from diploid plants in P. malaca (2n = 26). Two satellites showed high similarity with the previously identified PpTr-1 and PpTr-3, whereas two others are newly identified with the monomer of 326 bp (Poa-326) and 353 bp (Poa-353) respectively. The clone DNAs of PpTr-1 and PpTr-3, and oligonucleotides designed representing satellites Poa-326 and Poa-353 were probed to test on chromosomes across 13 Poa speceis with different polyploidy level by fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH). PpTr-1, PpTr-3, and Poa-362 were stably positioned in the subtelomeric regions in nearly all species with the variation of hybridization sites number. However, Poa-353 showed different FISH patterns of multiple regions with the variation of hybridization intensity and distribution sites across species. In addition, 5S rDNA and 45S rDNA were used to characterize the genome of the Poa species. Four rDNA FISH patterns were revealed in the tested species. Conclusion Four identified satellite were high conservable across Poa species. Genome distribution of these satellites can be characterized by FISH. The variation of satellite DNAs and rDNA chromosomal distributions between species provide useful information for phylogenetic analysis in genus Poa.

The plateau zokor (

In this work, impulsive stabilization problems of discrete-time switched linear systems with time-varying delays are studied. The sequence of impulsive instants is nearly-periodic, i.e., it is close to a periodic impulse and the distance between them is an uncertain bounded term. A time-varying Lyapunov function is introduced to characterize the information of delays, switching signals and impulses, and a stability criterion LMI-based is obtained without any restrictions on the stability of the subsystems. Several design schemes of reduced-order/full-order impulsive controllers with or without time-varying delays are developed. Finally, three numerical examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the established results.

To timely acquire non-ferrous metals related news from different countries’ internet. We proposed a cross-lingual non-ferrous metals related news recognition method based on CNN with a limited dictionary. Firstly, considering the lack of language resources of non-ferrous metals related, we learn cross-lingual word vector by CCA with the limited bilingual dictionary to uniformity represent news in different languages. Secondly, to improve the effect of recognition we use a variant of the CNN to learn recognition feature and construct recognition model. The experimental results show that our proposed method acquire better results.

The plateau zokor (Myospalax baileyi) is a specialized subterranean rodent that lives on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The species has evolved a series of strategies to adapt to its hypoxic environment and hypercapnia. p53 is a tumour suppressor gene that plays a crucial role in the cellular response to hypoxia by inducing cell cycle arrest, cell apoptosis, DNA damage repair and angiogenesis. To investigate the sequence characteristics of p53 and the response to hypoxia in plateau zokor, we cloned the p53 coding DNA sequence, analysed it, and measured the expression level of p53 at different altitudes in plateau zokor and rats. Our results show that the coding DNA sequence is 1179 bp, consisting of 392 amino acid residues. Compared to human p53, the subterranean rodents have two mutation sites in common with the human hotspots in the DNA-binding domain. Compared to subterranean rodents, plateau zokor have a mutation at residue 309. In addition, subterranean rodents have two convergent sites at residues 78 and 84. The expression levels of p53 in plateau zokor tissues increase significantly from 2260 m to 3300 m, but there was no significant difference in rats at those altitudes. Our results suggest that subterranean rodents have two mutation sites in common with the human hotspots in the DNA-binding domain, the mutation of Gly309Asp is a unique mutation site of plateau zokor p53, and there are two convergent sites enhancing subterranean rodent adaptation to hypoxic conditions. In addition, p53 is sensitive to the oxygen concentration in plateau zokor, and hypoxia upregulates the levels of p53. Generally, plateau zokor use this strategy to adapt to a hypoxic environment.

This study provides a chloroplast genome of Poa pratensis L. cv. Qinghai. The complete genome is 135,606 bp in length with a G + C content of 38.28%, which contains 32 tRNA genes, and 8 rRNA genes. The phylogenetic analysis indicated that P. pratensis L. cv. Qinghai is closely related to Festuca arundinacea cultivar KY-31. These results contribute to explore the genetic evidence for adaptation to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.

The St genome, originating from Pseudoroegneria (Nevski) Á. Löve, plays an important role in Triticeae. In this study, the Pseudoroegneria stipifolia genome (2n = 2x = 14, StSt) was screened to identify sequences that could be used for FISH. A total of 163 effective clones were obtained from the genomic plasmid library which was constructed by DNase I digestion of P. stipifolia nuclear genomic DNA. Analysis of these clones identified 112 with characteristics of transposable elements (TEs), 13 with characteristics of tandem repetitive sequences, 8 with characteristics of mRNA sequences, and 30 unknown sequences. Fluorescent signals were detected for 11 of 41 TE sequences on P. stipifolia chromosomes after in situ hybridization and were divided into 4 types according to signal distribution patterns: over the whole St genome chromosomes, telomere to pericentromeric regions, centromere to pericentromeric regions, and terminal regions. The affinity between St and Y genomes was studied using the 11 TE probes in 3 StStYY species. Five TE probes showed no obvious difference between subgenomes, 2 probes displayed divergence only in 2 StStYY species, and 4 probes exhibited significant differences among 3 StStYY species. These results provide a preliminary understanding of the sequence composition of the St genome and enabled 11 novel TE probes to be developed and applied.

The design of improved synthetic components is an important research field in synthetic biology. The terminator, responsible for terminating gene transcription, is a necessary component for yeast gene expression. The efficiency element, the positioning element and the poly(A) site have been identified as the constituent parts necessary for the yeast terminator to perform its function. However, the functions of linker 1 (situated between the efficiency element and the positioning element) and linker 2 [between the positioning element and the poly(A) site] in the terminator are still controversial. Here, we have thus designed and synthesized a yeast synthetic terminator library incorporating random 10 bp linker 1 units. For indirect characterization of the strengths of 266 synthetic terminators with the aid of the enhanced green fluorescent protein (eGFP), their fluorescence intensity (FI) values were determined; they ranged from 2.3648 to 3.5270, thus indicating that the strength of yeast terminator can be finely adjusted by changing the linker 1 sequence. The strength increased with decreasing GC content in linker 1, with a T-rich linker 1 helping to enhance terminator strength further. Reducing the stem length can increase the gene expression in cases of weak and medium-strength terminators but decreases the gene expression of strong terminators. Deletion of linker 2 seems to have a positive effect on weak and medium-strength terminators. Construction of a lycopene biosynthesis pathway with synthetic terminators effectively regulated lycopene synthesis, thus indicating that it is highly feasible to use terminators for fine regulation of gene and pathway expression.

Human activity, combined with climate change, has led to severe degradation of natural grasslands all over the world. As such, artificial grasslands created with species suited to the geographical area present a popular alternative. However, species that are both native and suitable for creating artificial grasslands are rare, especially in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau of China. In this study, we performed two experiments respectively with varied temperature and water potential, to evaluate the cold and drought resistance of 13 local Poa L. species in the Qinghai Province of China. Within the range of 0–20 °C, our results showed that increase in temperature increased the germination indices of all 13 species, with some species germinating even at 5 °C, demonstrating relatively cold-resistant species in our study. Similarly, decrease in moisture levels decreased the germination percentages of all species in this experiment, with several species germinating at even −1.2 MPa, which were considered as relatively higher drought-resistant species in this study. Among the 13 species, P. malaca, P. paucifolia, and P. sphondylodes exhibited relatively strong cold-resistance, while P. poophagorum, P. pratensis var. anceps Gaud. cv. Qinghai, and P. pratensis cv. Qinghai showed relatively high drought resistance. Overall, the results indicated that all the 13 native grass species evaluated in the study were suitable for planting and cultivation on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. This study could provide insights into identifying suitable species for plant breeding in Qinghai-Tibetan plateau and establish a protocol for germplasm evaluation of local Poa L. species. Further, these findings can help evaluate and identify more native species suited for the restoration of degraded grasslands, especially under the scenario of climate change.

Identifying the boundary nodes of a wireless sensor network (WSN) is one of the prerequisites for healing coverage holes, which belongs to the main problems of QoS in a network. Most of the existing solutions for this problem rely on the usage of coordinates or a relatively even distribution of sensors on the underlying network. However, as equipping localization devices on sensors usually means considerably higher cost, coordinates are often unavailable in low-budget networks. And it is often hard to guarantee the distribution of nodes. Therefore, identifying the boundary nodes without coordinates still faces difficulties. In this paper, we propose a distributed algorithm to solve this problem. In our method, a checking node first finds out all the potential triangles that with vertices from the 1-hop neighbors of the node. Then, the sensor keeps triangles containing it by calculating angles. At last, triangles with gap edges are identified by angle comparison to avoid wrong identification of a boundary node which has a U shaped ring locates beside. Illustrated simulation results show the performance effectiveness of our method, especially in networks with random and uneven sensor deployment.

LDH-C4 is a lactate dehydrogenase that catalyzes the conversion of pyruvate to lactate. In mammals, ldh-c was originally thought to be expressed only in testis and spermatozoa. Plateau pika (Ochotona curzoniae), which belongs to the genus Ochotona of the Ochotonidea family, is a hypoxia tolerant mammal living 3000–5000 m above sea level on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, an environment which is strongly hypoxic. Ldh-c is expressed not only in testis and sperm but also in somatic tissues of plateau pika. In this study, the effects of N-propyl oxamate and N-isopropyl oxamate on LDH isozyme kinetics were compared to screens for a selective inhibitor of LDH-C4. To reveal the role and physiological mechanism of LDH-C4 in skeletal muscle of plateau pika, we investigated the effect of N-isopropyl oxamate on the pika exercise tolerance as well as the physiological mechanism. Our results show that Ki of N-propyl oxamate and N-isopropyl oxamate for LDH-A4, LDH-B4, and LDH-C4 were 0.094 mmol/L and 0.462 mmol/L, 0.119 mmol/L and 0.248 mmol/L, and 0.015 mmol/L and 0.013 mmol/L, respectively. N-isopropyl oxamate is a powerful selective inhibitor of plateau pika LDH-C4. In our exercise tolerance experiment, groups treated with inhibitors had significantly lower swimming times than the uninhibited control group. The inhibition rates of LDH, LD, and ATP were 37.12%, 66.27%, and 32.42%, respectively. Our results suggested that ldh-c is expressed in the skeletal muscle of plateau pika, and at least 32.42% of ATP in the skeletal muscle is catalyzed by LDH-C4 by anaerobic glycolysis. This suggests that pika has reduced dependence on oxygen and enhanced adaptation to hypoxic environment due to increased anaerobic glycolysis by LDH-C4 in skeletal muscle. LDH-C4 in plateau pika plays the crucial role in anaerobic glycolysis and generates ATP rapidly since this is the role of LDH-A4 in most species on plain land, which provide evidence that the native humans and animals in Qinghai-Tibet plateau can adapt to the hypoxia environment.

The impulsive stabilization problem of neural networks with discrete time-varying delays and unbounded continuously distributed delays is considered. By using impulse-time-dependent Lyapunov function-based techniques to capture the hybrid structure characteristics of the considered impulsive neural networks, two novel global exponential stability criteria are obtained in terms of linear matrix inequalities, which are capable of dealing with the case where both the continuous and discrete dynamics are unstable. When the original continuous-time delayed neural networks are not stable, sufficient conditions are developed for the design of exponentially stable linear impulsive state feedback controllers. Four numerical examples are given to illustrate the less conservatism and effectiveness of the proposed results.

Terminators in eukaryotes play an important role in regulating the transcription process by influencing mRNA stability, translational efficiency, and localization. Herein, the strengths of 100 natural terminators in Saccharomyces cerevisiae have been characterized by inserting each terminator downstream of the TYS1p-enhanced green fluorescent protein (eGFP) reporter gene and measuring the fluorescent intensity (FI) of eGFP. Within this library, there are 45 strong terminators, 31 moderate terminators, and 24 weak terminators. The strength of these terminators, relative to that of PGK1t standard terminator, ranges from 0.0613 to 1.8002, with a mean relative FI of 0.9945. Mutating the control elements of terminators further suggests that the efficiency element has an important effect on terminator strength. The use of strong terminators will result in an enhanced level of mRNA and protein production; this indicates that gene expression can be directly influenced by terminator selection. Pairing a terminator with an inducible promoter or a strong constitutive promoter has less effect on gene expression; however, pairing with a week promoter will significantly increase the level of gene expression. Through exchange of the reporter genes, it can be demonstrated that the terminator functions as a genetic component and is independent of the coding region. This work demonstrates that the terminator is an important regulatory element and can be considered in applications for the fine-tuning of gene expression and metabolic pathways.

The coverage holes in a wireless sensor network degrades the Quality of Service of it. Existing methods for healing the holes in a planar network may find difficulties on a non-planar model. In this paper, we first analyze the characteristics of mobile sensors moving on a curved surface. Then, we propose a greedy algorithm called Path Finding to find out potential matches between nodes. By using paths found by the algorithm, we propose a centralized algorithm and a distributed scheme to match mobile nodes with the coverage holes under the aim of minimizing the energy consumption of the mobile ones. Simulation results show that our schemes can provide a high coverage hole healing ratio with low message load.
