There is a severe lack of understanding of the effects of micro/nanoplastics on human proteins and cells, especially in the presence of organic pollutants. Herein, both in vivo and in vitro assays are conducted to structurally evaluate blood protein complexed with perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) as well as their coronas formed on polystyrene nanoplastics (PNs). PFOS is bound to serum albumin (SA) about 4 times as firmly as PFOA, which is not influenced by protein corona formation onto PN surfaces. However, the small molecular binding dramatically suppresses SA–PN aggregation. Low pH weakens the protein interaction of PFOS while not PFOA, which is also independent of PN adsorption, but the interaction with SA is still stronger for PFOS than PFOA, indicating higher serum persistence and risks. The presence of PN suppresses the cellular uptake of the chemicals and attenuates cytotoxicity due to low bioavailability. Overall, these results provide fundamental information on the ternary interaction mode of protein, particle, and organic pollutants in physiological environments with varying pH, as well as the subsequent cellular responses.

IntroductionThis study examined the impact of biochar application on agricultural productivity and greenhouse gas emissions in irrigated regions of northern Xinjiang. The objective of this study was to assess the impact of nitrogen fertilizer and biochar levels on soil respiration rate, enzyme activity, and spring wheat yield.Materials and methodsThe experiment employed a randomized block design comprising two nitrogen fertilizer levels (N1: 300 kg·hm-2 and N2: 255 kg·hm-2) and four biochar levels (B0: 0 kg·hm-2, B1: 10×103 kg·hm-2, B2: 20×103 kg·hm-2, and B3: 30×103 kg·hm-2). This resulted in eight groups (N1B0, N1B1, N1B2, N1B3, N2B0, N2B1, N2B2, and N2B3), each replicated three times.Results and discussionThe findings indicated that the N2B2 group exhibited a reduction in soil CO2 emissions, with a cumulative decrease of 4.42% in CO2 emissions compared to the N2B0 control. The application of biochar and/or nitrogen fertilizer, particularly in combination, was observed to increase soil urease, sucrase, and catalase activities. The N2B2 group exhibited a spring wheat yield of 8301.35 kg·hm-2, representing a 22.1% increase over the N1B0 group. This improvement was attributed to the capacity of biochar to regulate soil water content variability, stabilize soil aggregate composition, mitigate organic carbon mineralization, and reduce farmland carbon emissions. Furthermore, biochar’s nitrogen fixation provided essential nutrients for soil microorganisms, thereby enhancing enzymatic reactions and promoting crop growth.ConclusionIn conclusion, the N2B2 regime was determined to be the optimal approach for spring wheat cultivation in irrigated regions of northern Xinjiang, resulting in enhanced crop productivity and the mitigation of carbon emissions. Nevertheless, further investigation of its long-term impact on farmland is recommended.

Cadmium tellurium quantum dots (CdTe QDs) as one of the most widely used QDs have been reported the toxicity and biosafety in recent years, little work has been done to reduce their toxicity however. Based on the mechanisms of toxicity of CdTe QDs on liver target organs such as oxidative stress and apoptosis previously reported by other researchers, we investigated the mechanism of action of trace element selenium (Se) to mitigate the hepatotoxicity of CdTe QDs. The experimental results showed that Se-Met at 40–140 μg L−1 could enhance the function of intracellular antioxidant defense system and the molecular structure of related antioxidant enzymes by reduce the production of ROS by 45%, protecting the activity of antioxidants and up-regulating the expression of selenoproteins with antioxidant functions, Gpx1 increase 225% and Gpx4 upregulated 47%. In addition, Se-Met could alleviate CdTe QDs-induced apoptosis by regulating two apoptosis-inducing factors, as intracellular caspase 3/9 expression levels were reduced by 70% and 87%, decreased Ca2+ concentration, and increased mitochondrial membrane potential measurements. Overall, this study indicates that Se-Met has a significant protective effect on the hepatotoxicity of CdTe QDs. Se-Met can be applied to the preparation of CdTe QDs to inhibit its toxicity and break the application limitation.

Largemouth bass ranavirus (LMBV) belongs to the Ranavirus genus of the Iridoviridae family and can infect numerous species of Percidae, such as largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides), smallmouth bass (Micropterus dolomieu) and bluegill (Lepomis macrochirus). This virus is causing significant harmful and influential effects on both wild and farmed largemouth bass in North America, Europe and Asia, leading to serious economic losses in the aquaculture industry. Accordingly, this virus has become the focus of a significant body of research. Herein, we provide an overview of the latest research progress relating to LMBV by considering viral discovery, biological characteristics, taxonomic status, morphological characteristics, pathogenicity, detection and diagnostic technologies, prevention and control measures. This information will promote an enhanced understanding of the pathogenic mechanisms of LMBV and will benefit virological research so that we can develop effective control measures for this disease.

Abstract The battery energy storage system (BESS) is considered as an effective way to solve the lack of power and frequency fluctuation caused by the uncertainty and the imbalance of renewable energy. Based on these, this paper proposes a mixed control strategy for the BESS. First, this paper divides the demand for frequency modulation, peak regulation, and state of charge (SOC) of the battery into different zones. Then the Kuramoto model modulates the frequency, and the self‐recovery strategy is used to optimize the SOC. Meanwhile, the proposed mixed control strategy is used to integrate frequency control, demand control, and SOC optimization. Finally, the simulation results verify the rationality of the strategy.

Despite being one of the most world's widely used and mass-produced compounds, bisphenol A (BPA) has a wide range of toxic effects. Bisphenol P (BPP), an alternative to BPA, has been detected in many foods. The effects of BPP dietary exposure on gut microbiota and the intestinal barrier were unclear. We designed three batches of animal experiments: The first studied mice were exposed to BPP (30 µg/kg BW/day) for nine weeks and found that they gained weight and developed dysbiosis of the gut microbiota. The second, using typical human exposure levels (L, 0.3 µg/kg BW/day BPP) and higher concentrations (M, 30 µg/kg BW/day BPP; H, 3000 µg/kg BW/day BPP), caused gut microbiota dysbiosis in mice, activated the Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) /TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathway, triggered an inflammatory response, increased intestinal permeability, and promoted bacterial translocation leading to intestinal barrier disruption. The third treatment used a combination of antibiotics and alleviated intestinal inflammation and injury. This study demonstrated the mechanism of injury and concentration effects of intestinal damage caused by BPP exposure, providing reference data for BPP use and control and yielding new insights for human disease prevention.

A randomized block field experiment was conducted in the irrigated area of northern Xinjiang, China, to clarify the effects of biochar (0, 30 × 103 kg·hm−2 (B)) combined with nitrogen (0, 150 (N1), and 300 kg·hm−2 (N2)) on soil fertility, which was represented by CK, B, N1, N2, BN1, and BN2, respectively. The performance of eleven indices related to soil chemical, physical, and biological properties was evaluated by factor analysis and cluster analysis to determine the most appropriate mode for soil fertilization and to identify the main soil environmental factors affecting wheat yield under biochar combined with nitrogen. The results indicated that the first factor was the activity factor, including the Shannon index, McIntosh index, and Simpson index. The second factor was the available nutrient factor, including organic matter, available phosphorus, and available potassium. Factor 3 can be taken as the nutrient-supplying and retaining factor containing total phosphorus, total potassium, and bacterial quantity. The highest score of soil quality was observed in the BN1 treatment, followed by the BN2 and B treatments, which were almost in line with the results of wheat yields. Cluster analysis classified six treatments into four main groups on the basis of the measured parameters, which was mostly consistent with the results of soil quality scores. Considering both economic and environmental benefits, 30 × 103 kg·hm−2 biochar combined with 150 kg·hm−2 nitrogen was the best combination to restore crop productivity and soil quality and to achieve nitrogen decrease and benefit increase. This study provided the scientific basis for the rational fertilization and scientific management of biochar combined with nitrogen fertilizer in the irrigated area of northern Xinjiang, China.

Abstract Background Cannabis sativa L., a dioecious plant derived from China, demonstrates important medicinal properties and economic value worldwide. Cannabis properties have been usually harnessed depending on the sex of the plant. To analyse the genetic structure of Chinese Cannabis and identify sex-linked makers, genome-wide insertion-deletion (InDel) markers were designed and used. Results In this study, a genome-wide analysis of insertion-deletion (InDel) polymorphisms was performed based on the recent genome sequences. In total, 47,558 InDels were detected between the two varieties, and the length of InDels ranged from 4 bp to 87 bp. The most common InDels were tetranucleotides, followed by pentanucleotides. Chromosome 5 exhibited the highest number of InDels among the Cannabis chromosomes, while chromosome 10 exhibited the lowest number. Additionally, 31,802 non-redundant InDel markers were designed, and 84 primers evenly distributed in the Cannabis genome were chosen for polymorphism analysis. A total of 38 primers exhibited polymorphisms among three accessions, and of the polymorphism primers, 14 biallelic primers were further used to analyse the genetic structure. A total of 39 fragments were detected, and the PIC value ranged from 0.1209 to 0.6351. According to the InDel markers and the flowering time, the 115 Chinese germplasms were divided into two subgroups, mainly composed of cultivars obtained from the northernmost and southernmost regions, respectively. Additional two markers, “Cs-I1–10” and “Cs-I1–15”, were found to amplify two bands (398 bp and 251 bp; 293 bp and 141 bp) in the male plants, while 389-bp or 293-bp bands were amplified in female plants. Using the two markers, the feminized and dioecious varieties could also be distinguished. Conclusion Based on the findings obtained herein, we believe that this study will facilitate the genetic improvement and germplasm conservation of Cannabis in China, and the sex-linked InDel markers will provide accurate sex identification strategies for Cannabis breeding and production.

Abstract Background Cannabis, an important industrial crop, has a high sensitivity to photoperiods. The flowering time of cannabis is one of its important agronomic traits, and has a significant effect on its yield and quality. The CONSTANS-like (COL) gene plays a key role in the regulation of flowering in this plant. However, the specific roles of the COL gene family in cannabis are still unknown. Results In this study, 13 CsCOL genes were identified in the cannabis genome. Phylogenetic analysis implied that the CsCOL proteins were divided into three subgroups, and each subgroup included conserved intron/exon structures and motifs. Chromosome distribution analysis showed that 13 CsCOL genes were unevenly distributed on 7 chromosomes, with chromosome 10 having the most CsCOL members. Collinearity analysis showed that two syntenic gene pairs of CsCOL4 and CsCOL11 were found in both rice and Gossypium raimondii. Of the 13 CsCOL genes, CsCOL6 and CsCOL12 were a pair of tandem duplicated genes, whereas CsCOL8 and CsCOL11 may have resulted from segmental duplication. Furthermore, tissue-specific expression showed that 10 CsCOL genes were preferentially expressed in the leaves, 1 CsCOL in the stem, and 2 CsCOL in the female flower. Most CsCOL exhibited a diurnal oscillation pattern under different light treatment. Additionally, sequence analysis showed that CsCOL3 and CsCOL7 exhibited amino acid differences among the early-flowering and late flowering cultivars. Conclusion This study provided insight into the potential functions of CsCOL genes, and highlighted their roles in the regulation of flowering time in cannabis. Our results laid a foundation for the further elucidation of the functions of COL genes in cannabis.

Given the rising domestic demand and increasing global prices of corn and soybean, China is looking for alternatives for these imports to produce animal fodder. Kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus L.) has great potential as a new forage source, due to abundant proteins, phenols and flavonoids in its leaves. However, few studies have evaluated the mechanism of protein synthesis in kenaf leaves. In the current work, compared with kenaf material “L332,” the percentage of crude protein content in leaves of material “Q303” increased by 6.13%; combined with transcriptome and proteome data, the kenaf samples were systematically studied to obtain mRNA-protein correlation. Then, the genes/proteins related to protein synthesis in the kenaf leaves were obtained. Moreover, this work detected mRNA expression of 20 differentially expressed genes (DEGs). Meanwhile, 20 differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) related to protein synthesis were performed parallel reaction monitoring. Fructose-1,6-bisphosphatase (FBP), nitrite reductase (NirA), prolyl tRNA synthase (PARS) and glycine dehydrogenase (GLDC) presented increased mRNA and protein levels within kenaf leaves with high protein content. Based on the obtained findings, FBP, NirA, PARS, and GLDC genes may exert a vital function in the protein synthesis of kenaf leaves. The results provide a new idea for further studying the potential genes affecting the quality trait of protein content in kenaf leaves and provide gene resources and a theoretical foundation for further cultivating high protein kenaf varieties.

Female Cannabis sativa plants have important therapeutic properties. The sex ratio of the dioecious cannabis is approximately 1:1. Cultivating homozygous female plants by inducing female plants to produce male flowers is of great practical significance. However, the mechanism underlying cannabis male development remains unclear. In this study, single-molecule real-time (SMRT) sequencing was performed using a mixed sample of female and induced male flowers from the ZYZM1 cannabis variety. A total of 15,241 consensus reads were identified, and 13,657 transcripts were annotated across seven public databases. A total of 48 lncRNAs with an average length of 986.54 bp were identified. In total, 8202 transcripts were annotated as transcription factors, the most common of which were bHLH transcription factors. Moreover, tissue-specific expression pattern analysis showed that 13 MADS transcription factors were highly expressed in male flowers. Furthermore, 232 reads of novel genes were predicted and enriched in lipid metabolism, and qRT-PCR results showed that CER1 may be involved in the development of cannabis male flowers. In addition, 1170 AS events were detected, and two AS events were further validated. Taken together, these results may improve our understanding of the complexity of full-length cannabis transcripts and provide a basis for understanding the molecular mechanism of cannabis male development.

Abstract Background Hirame novirhabdovirus (HIRRV) can infect a wide range of marine and freshwater fish, causing huge economic losses to aquaculture industry. Vaccine development, especially oral vaccine, has become an effective and convenient way to control aquatic infectious diseases. HIRRV glycoprotein (G), an immunogenic viral protein is a potential vaccine candidate for prevention of the disease. Here, we aimed to construct a recombinant Lactococcus lactis strain expressing HIRRV-G on the cell surface as an oral vaccine to prevent HIRRV. Results Glycoprotein gene of HIRRV was successfully cloned and expressed in L. lactis NZ9000 in a surface-displayed form, yielding Ll:pSLC-G. An approximately 81 kDa recombinant G protein (containing LysM anchoring motif) was confirmed by SDS-PAGE, western blotting and mass spectrometry analysis. The surface-displayed G protein was also verified by immunofluorescence and flow cytometry assays. Furthermore, to evaluate the potential of Ll:pSLC-G as oral vaccine candidate, flounders were continuously fed with commercial diet pellets coated with 1.0 × 109 cfu/g of induced Ll:pSLC-G for 1 week. Four weeks later, booster vaccination was performed with the same procedure. In this study, a novel antibacterial hemp fibre grafted with quaternary ammonium groups (HF–GTA), were prepared by alkalization, oxidation, amination and quaternization multistage reactions. The chemical structure and micromorphology of the fibre were characterized by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis and X-ray diffraction. The grafting and reaction mechanism proved to be successful, which indicated that the grafting reaction primarily occurred on the hydroxyl group of cellulose and hemicellulose in the hemp fibre, where it retained good fibrous morphology, thermal stability and hygroscopicity. HF–GTA exhibited the best antibacterial activity, where the antibacterial ratios against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus were 95.41% and 99.64%, respectively. Even after washing 30 times, the antibacterial activity was retained at 89.78% and 91.12%, indicating that HF–GTA was endowed with good washing resistance. The antibacterial activity was owing to the electrostatic reaction reducing the electrochemical potential on the cell membrane, leading to the release of cytoplasmic substances and the dissolution of cells. This study is significantly important for guaranteeing textile quality and preventing disease transmission.

The application of ship detection for assistant intelligent ship navigation has stringent requirements for the model’s detection speed and accuracy. In response to this problem, this study uses an improved YOLO-V4 detection model (ShipYOLO) to detect ships. Compared to YOLO-V4, the model has three main improvements. Firstly, the backbone network (CSPDarknet) of YOLO-V4 is optimized. In the training process, the 3 × 3 convolution, 1 × 1 convolution, and identity parallel mode are used to replace the original feature extraction component (ResUnit) and more features are extracted. In the inference process, the branch parameters are combined to form a new backbone network named RCSPDarknet, which improves the inference speed of the model while improving the accuracy. Secondly, in order to solve the problem of missed detection of the small-scale ships, we designed a new amplified receptive field module named DSPP with dilated convolution and Max-Pooling, which improves the model’s acquisition of small-scale ship spatial information and robustness of ship target space displacement. Finally, we use the attention mechanism and Resnet’s shortcut idea to improve the feature pyramid structure (PAFPN) of YOLO-V4 and get a new feature pyramid structure named AtFPN. The structure effectively improves the model’s feature extraction effect for ships of different scales and reduces the number of model parameters, further improving the model’s inference speed and detection accuracy. In addition, we have created a ship dataset with a total of 2238 images, which is a single-category dataset. The experimental results show that ShipYOLO has the advantage of faster speed and higher accuracy even in different input sizes. Considering the input size of 320 × 320 on the PC equipped with NVIDIA 1080Ti GPU, the FPS and mAP@5 : 5:95 (mAP90) of ShipYOLO are increased by 23.7% and 13.6% (10.6%), respectively, with an input size of 320 × 320, ShipYOLO, compared to YOLO-V4.

Cannabis has been used as a source of nutrition, medicine, and fiber. However, lack of genomic simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers had limited the genetic research on Cannabis species. In the present study, 92,409 motifs were identified, and 63,707 complementary SSR primer pairs were developed. The most abundant SSR motifs had six repeat units (36.60%). The most abundant type of motif was dinucleotides (70.90%), followed by trinucleotides, tetranucleotides, and pentanucleotides. We randomly selected 80 pairs of genomic SSR markers, of which 69 (86.25%) were amplified successfully; 59 (73.75%) of these were polymorphic. Genetic diversity and population structure were estimated using the 59 (72 loci) validated polymorphic SSRs and three phenotypic markers. Three hundred ten alleles were identified, and the major allele frequency ranged from 0.26 to 0.85 (average: 0.56), Nei’s genetic diversity ranged from 0.28 to 0.82 (average: 0.56), and the expected heterozygosity ranged from 0.28 to 0.81 (average: 0.56). The polymorphism information content ranged from 0.25 to 0.79 (average: 0.50), the observed number of alleles ranged from 2 to 8 (average: 4.13), and the effective number of alleles ranged from 0.28 to 0.81 (average: 0.5). The Cannabis population did not show mutation-drift equilibrium following analysis via the infinite allele model. A cluster analysis was performed using the unweighted pair group method using arithmetic means based on genetic distances. Population structure analysis was used to divide the germplasms into two subgroups. These results provide guidance for the molecular breeding and further investigation of Cannabis.

The need for an excellent antibacterial material that is sufficiently powerful to never develop bacterial resistance is urgent. In this study, a series of novel polyacrylonitrile-based fibres with chelated Ag ions (referred to as Ag-SH-PANF) were prepared by a two-step chemical modification process: grafting and chelating. The properties of the as-prepared Ag-SH-PANF were characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The antibacterial activities of Ag-SH-PANF were examined against pathogenic bacteria, and an antibacterial mechanism was explicated based on the release of Ag ions from the fibres' surfaces. The results showed that, although chelation occurred between the Ag ions and the grafted amino, sulfhydryl and disulfide groups, Ag-SH-PANF retained its fine microstructure and thermal stability. Moreover, Ag-SH-PANF displayed excellent antibacterial ability against pathogenic bacteria as well as good washing durability. In terms of the antibacterial mechanism, Ag ions are the main bactericidal agents in the role of catalysts and are not consumed in the antibacterial process. Nonetheless, a relatively higher concentration of Ag ions can accelerate the bactericidal process.

For the dissection and identification of the molecular response mechanisms to salt stress in cannabis, an experiment was conducted surveying the diversity of physiological characteristics. RNA-seq profiling was carried out to identify differential expression genes and pathway which respond to salt stress in different cannabis materials. The result of physiological diversity analyses showed that it is more sensitive to proline contents in K94 than in W20; 6 h was needed to reach the maximum in K94, compared to 12 h in W20. For profiling 0–72 h after treatment, a total of 10,149 differentially expressed genes were identified, and 249 genes exhibited significantly diverse expression levels in K94, which were clustered in plant hormone signal transduction and the MAPK signaling pathway. A total of 371 genes showed significant diversity expression variations in W20, which were clustered in the phenylpropanoid biosynthesis and plant hormone signal transduction pathway. The pathway enrichment by genes which were identified in K94 and W20 showed a similar trend to those clustered in plant hormone signal transduction pathways and MAPK signaling. Otherwise, there were 85 genes which identified overlaps between the two materials, indicating that these may be underlying genes related to salt stress in cannabis. The 86.67% agreement of the RNA-seq and qRT-PCR indicated the accuracy and reliability of the RNA-seq technique. Additionally, the result of physiological diversity was consistent with the predicted RNA-seq-based findings. This research may offer new insights into the molecular networks mediating cannabis to respond to salt stress.

Kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus L.) is a valuable plant with a potential health benefit because of its extensive bioactive compounds. Leaf extracts of 33 kenaf genotypes were investigated for their polysaccharide, total phenolic, and flavonoid content. The antioxidant properties were evaluated by 2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), 2,2′-azinobis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid (ABTS), and ferric reducing antioxidant potential (FRAP) assays. Antimicrobial capacity was also assessed against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli using a disc diffusion assay. The polysaccharide content varied from 6.45–16.12 mg glucose per g DW. Total phenolic and flavonoid content ranged from 6.03–21.15 mg GAE/g DW and 1.55–9.24 mg RE/g DW, respectively. Similarly, varied values in the range 20.55–79.99% of inhibition by DPPH, 56.28–88.30% of inhibition by ABTS and 1.26–5.08 mmol Fe2+/g DW by FRAP assays were obtained for antioxidants of the genotype extracts. Extracts from CS4 and CS2 genotypes had the highest antioxidant activities. Kenaf leaves exhibited antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. Strong correlation was found between antioxidant activity with polysaccharide (DPPH, r = 0.893; ABTS, r = 0.819; FRAP, r = 0.864) and total phenolic content (DPPH, r = 0.850; ABTS, r = 0.959; FRAP, r = 0.953). The results suggested that the kenaf leaves could be used as a natural antioxidants and antimicrobial in food industries.

Drought is the main environmental factor impairing hemp growth and yield. In order to decipher the molecular responses of hemp to drought stress, transcriptome changes of drought-stressed hemp (DS1 and DS2), compared to well-watered control hemp (CK1 and CK2), were studied with RNA-Seq technology. RNA-Seq generated 9.83, 11.30, 11.66, and 11.31 M clean reads in the CK1, CK2, DS1, and DS2 libraries, respectively. A total of 1292 differentially expressed genes (DEGs), including 409 (31.66%) upregulated and 883 (68.34%) downregulated genes, were identified. The expression patterns of 12 selected genes were validated by qRT-PCR, and the results were accordant with Illumina analysis. Gene Ontology (GO) and KEGG analysis illuminated particular important biological processes and pathways, which enriched many candidate genes such as NAC, B3, peroxidase, expansin, and inositol oxygenase that may play important roles in hemp tolerance to drought. Eleven KEGG pathways were significantly influenced, the most influenced being the plant hormone signal transduction pathway with 15 differentially expressed genes. A similar expression pattern of genes involved in the abscisic acid (ABA) pathway under drought, and ABA induction, suggested that ABA is important in the drought stress response of hemp. These findings provide useful insights into the drought stress regulatory mechanism in hemp.

In the maritime scene, visible light sensors installed on ships have difficulty accurately detecting the sea−sky line (SSL) and its nearby ships due to complex environments and six-degrees-of-freedom movement. Aimed at this problem, this paper combines the camera and inertial sensor data, and proposes a novel maritime target detection algorithm based on camera motion attitude. The algorithm mainly includes three steps, namely, SSL estimation, SSL detection, and target saliency detection. Firstly, we constructed the camera motion attitude model by analyzing the camera’s six-degrees-of-freedom motion at sea, estimated the candidate region (CR) of the SSL, then applied the improved edge detection algorithm and the straight-line fitting algorithm to extract the optimal SSL in the CR. Finally, in the region of ship detection (ROSD), an improved visual saliency detection algorithm was applied to extract the target ships. In the experiment, we constructed SSL and its nearby ship detection dataset that matches the camera’s motion attitude data by real ship shooting, and verified the effectiveness of each model in the algorithm through comparative experiments. Experimental results show that compared with the other maritime target detection algorithm, the proposed algorithm achieves a higher detection accuracy in the detection of the SSL and its nearby ships, and provides reliable technical support for the visual development of unmanned ships.

In this study, xanthine oxidase immobilized silica coated Fe3O4 nanoparticles (Fe3O4@SiO2-XO) were successfully prepared and characterized by transmission electron microscope, X-ray powder diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and vibrating sample magnetometer. The average diameter of the Fe3O4 nanoparticles was about 300 nm to 350 nm with a shell thickness of 60 nm. The maximum saturation magnetization of the Fe3O4@SiO2-XO nanoparticles was 44.9 emu/g, which ensured the separation from the medium within one minute by using an ordinary magnet. A xanthine oxidase (XO) inhibitor screening method using Fe3O4@SiO2-XO nanoparticles was established and utilized in the extract of Clerodendranthus spicatus. Under the optimized conditions, two compounds were screened out and identified as gardenin B and eupatorin. The half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) values of these two compounds were 1.488 μg/mL and 11.197 μg/mL, respectively. The interactions between these two compounds and XO were investigated by the fluorescence spectroscopic method. The results suggested that the quenching effects of gardenin B and eupatorin were due to a static quenching mechanism. Furthermore, gardenin B showed stronger binding capacity than that of eupatorin. In conclusion, this screening method exhibited efficiency and reusability in screening, identification and analysis of enzyme inhibitors from complex mixtures.

Cannabis sativa L. is an important economic plant for the production of food, fiber, oils, and intoxicants. However, lack of sufficient simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers has limited the development of cannabis genetic research. Here, large-scale development of expressed sequence tag simple sequence repeat (EST-SSR) markers was performed to obtain more informative genetic markers, and to assess genetic diversity in cannabis (Cannabis sativa L.). Based on the cannabis transcriptome, 4,577 SSRs were identified from 3,624 ESTs. From there, a total of 3,442 complementary primer pairs were designed as SSR markers. Among these markers, trinucleotide repeat motifs (50.99%) were the most abundant, followed by hexanucleotide (25.13%), dinucleotide (16.34%), tetranucloetide (3.8%), and pentanucleotide (3.74%) repeat motifs, respectively. The AAG/CTT trinucleotide repeat (17.96%) was the most abundant motif detected in the SSRs. One hundred and seventeen EST-SSR markers were randomly selected to evaluate primer quality in 24 cannabis varieties. Among these 117 markers, 108 (92.31%) were successfully amplified and 87 (74.36%) were polymorphic. Forty-five polymorphic primer pairs were selected to evaluate genetic diversity and relatedness among the 115 cannabis genotypes. The results showed that 115 varieties could be divided into 4 groups primarily based on geography: Northern China, Europe, Central China, and Southern China. Moreover, the coefficient of similarity when comparing cannabis from Northern China with the European group cannabis was higher than that when comparing with cannabis from the other two groups, owing to a similar climate. This study outlines the first large-scale development of SSR markers for cannabis. These data may serve as a foundation for the development of genetic linkage, quantitative trait loci mapping, and marker-assisted breeding of cannabis.

In order to improve the strength and stiffness characteristics of truck carriage, a structural optimization scheme based on modal analysis was proposed, which could enhance the comprehensive mechanical performance while reducing weight. Based on finite element simulation, the natural frequencies and modal shapes of the carriage were obtained. Under braking conditions, piezoelectric accelerometer was used to capture vibration data of the suspension system, which also verified the accuracy of natural frequency calculation. Through sensitivity analysis, four dimensions of the side reinforcement were selected as design variables. The approximate model of the optimization objective was constructed using an approximation method, and multi-objective genetic algorithm was used to solve the design variables. The results show that the optimized structure can decrease the mass by 2.3 %, decrease the maximum stress by 10.9 %, and increase the first-order natural frequency by 23.4 %. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The dynamic response characteristics of shock absorber have a crucial influence on the stability and safety performance of vehicles. Based on the finite element method, the modal simulation of the mechanical structure of shock absorber was conducted, and the natural frequencies and modal shapes were obtained. According to the dynamic stiffness test scheme, the first four natural frequencies were set as the excitation frequencies, and the response characteristics of displacement, damping force and dynamic stiffness were tested and analyzed. In the experimental loading scheme, shear force was applied to the damper, and the shear amplitude gradually increased from 0.5 mm. Three cycle tests were conducted to obtain the average evaluation value. The results show that although the natural frequencies of the mechanical structure of the shock absorber do not avoid the excitation frequency of the road surface, it still shows good dynamic response effects at low-order excitation frequencies. The elastic stiffness and damping stiffness of the shock absorber decrease with the increase of the shear amplitude, while the damping stiffness increases with the increase of the excitation frequency. In order to improve the dynamic response characteristics of the steering mechanism, a research scheme for increasing the natural frequency based on lightweight design was proposed. Based on the finite element method and the collaborative optimization method, the modal characteristics and harmonic response characteristics of the model were studied and analyzed to verify the strength and stiffness performance of the optimized structure. The modal shapes between the free mode and the constrained mode were compared and analyzed. With the second-order natural frequency as the optimization objective, the response surface function of the equivalent stiffness was constructed. Through optimization calculation, the design variables that satisfy the constraint conditions can be obtained. The results show that the optimized structure can increase the second-order natural frequency by 14.4 % on the premise of reducing the mass by 5.2 %, effectively avoiding the excitation frequency of the engine. Acute hepatopancreatic necrosis disease, which can cause 100% mortality, is one of the main threats to farming Litopenaeus vannamei. We identified seven strains of pathogenic bacteria from ponds with outbreaks of acute hepatopancreatic necrosis at a L. vannamei farm in Zhuhai, China. Among the seven bacteria strains, one strain was isolated from aquaculture water, two strains were isolated from hepatopancreas, and the other four strains were isolated from juvenile shrimp. The results of 16S rRNA sequencing and biochemical identification showed that all seven pathogenic bacteria were Vibrio parahaemolyticus and that they carried the pirA and pirB virulence genes. These bacteria showed ß-hemolysis with translucent rings, and six serotypes were identified. The regression infection results showed that the lethal rates of the three V. parahaemolyticus strains of serotypes O1:KUT and OUT:KUT to L. vannamei were significantly higher than those of the other serotypes. The three V. parahaemolyticus strains had the same growth characteristics, and they all entered the growth plateau at 4 h after inoculation. In addition, the pathogenicity of the three V. parahaemolyticus strains were similar. In the present study, V. parahaemolyticus was identified as one of the pathogenic bacteria causing acute hepatopancreatic necrosis of L. vannamei, and the O1:KUT and OUT:KUT serotypes may be the main pathogenic strains in Zhuhai. These results provided a foundation for the isolation, identification, and pathogenicity study of acute hepatopancreatic necrosis of L. vannamei, providing a reference for the prevention and control direction of L. vannamei disease.
