Abstract Background Coronary artery bypass grafting is associated with a high occurrence of postoperative cardiopulmonary complications. Preliminary evidence suggested that enhanced recovery after surgery can effectively reduce the occurrence of postoperative cardiopulmonary complications. However, enhanced recovery after surgery with systematic integration of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation (ERAS-CaRe) into for Coronary artery bypass grafting has not been evaluated so far. We thus design the ERAS-CaRe randomized-controlled trial to evaluate possible superiority of embedding cardiopulmonary rehabilitation in ERAS over ERAS alone as well as to investigate effects of differential timing of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation within enhanced recovery after surgery (pre-, post-, perio-operative) on post-operative cardiopulmonary complications following Coronary artery bypass grafting surgery. Methods ERAS-CaRe is a pragmatic, randomized-controlled, parallel four-arm, clinical trial. Three hundred sixty patients scheduled for Coronary artery bypass grafting in two Chinese hospitals will be grouped randomly into (i) Standard enhanced recovery after surgery or (ii) pre-operative ERAS-CaRe or (iii) post-operative ERAS-CaRe or (iv) perio-operative ERAS-CaRe. Primary outcome is the occurrence of cardiopulmonary complications at 10 days after Coronary artery bypass grafting. Secondary outcomes include the occurrence of other individual complications including cardiac, pulmonary, stroke, acute kidney injury, gastrointestinal event, ICU delirium rate, reintubation rate, early drainage tube removal rate, unplanned revascularization rate, all-cause mortality, ICU readmission rate, plasma concentration of myocardial infarction-related key biomarkers etc. Discussion The trial is designed to evaluate the hypothesis that a cardiopulmonary rehabilitation based enhanced recovery after surgery program reduces the occurrence of cardiopulmonary complications following Coronary artery bypass grafting and to determine optimal timing of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation within enhanced recovery after surgery. The project will contribute to increasing the currently limited knowledge base in the field as well as devising clinical recommendations. Trial registration The trial was registered at the Chinese Clinical Trials Registry on 25 August 2023 (ChiCTR2300075125; date recorded: 25/8/2023, https://www.chictr.org.cn/ ).

Precipitates always have a complex effect on the hot work hardening and recrystallization softening of materials. In this work, the dual effect of V-microalloying on hot deformation behavior and microstructure evolution of high nitrogen martensitic stainless steel (HNMSS) was investigated by hot compression experiments, modeling study and microstructure characterization. The results showed that V-microalloying enhanced the flow stresses and activation energy of 0.2V steel due to the fine grain strengthening effect and the blocking effect of dynamic precipitation on dislocation movement and grain boundary migration. On the other hand, the recrystallization model and deformed microstructure indicated the more intense dynamic recrystallization (DRX) softening effect in 0.2V steel, inducing the faster decrease of flow stress after the peak stress. V-microalloying promoted the dynamic precipitation of HNMSS during hot deformation, which reduced the size and increased the number of precipitates in 0.2V steel. The fine precipitates hindered dislocation movement, promoted dislocation accumulation and entanglement, formed a particle deformation zone (PDZ) with high dislocation density and large orientation gradient, and then induced the occurrence of particle-stimulated nucleation (PSN). In addition, the dislocation cells evolved from dislocation entanglement were also favorable nucleation sites for DRX.

Rhizosphere microorganisms are important for maintaining soil and plant health and promoting plant growth and development. Screening rhizosphere growth-promoting bacteria with unique habitats, high activity and multiple functions is conducive to exploring the potential stress resistance of growth-promoting bacteria, and further improving the applicability of microbial fertilizers in agricultural production in response to the development concept of green agriculture. The aim of this study was to investigate the physiological activity of the culturable core growth-promoting bacteria of Dicranopteris dichotoma and verify their growth-promoting effect on mung bean (Vigna radiata) growth. A total of 41 bacterial strains were isolated in this study; 21 strains had more than one physiological activity, among which the highest siderophores units (SU) were 97.1%, and the highest IAA yield was 134.46 mg/L. According to morphology and 16S rRNA, three strains of Bacillus sp. and one strain of Pantoea sp. were screened, all of which were predicted to have the functions of phosphorous solubilization, cellulase production, IAA production and siderophores production. In a pot experiment, these four strains were inoculated in the rhizosphere soil every 7 days for a total of 4 times, and the aerial and underground biomass, plant height, root length and leaf number of V. radiata plants increased significantly 30 days after the last inoculation. The strains isolated in this study have excellent plant growth promoting (PGP) properties and were expected to be used as a new biological inoculant in practical production.

IntroductionPrediction of post-stroke functional outcome is important for personalized rehabilitation treatment, we aimed to develop an effective nomogram for predicting long-term unfavorable functional outcomes in ischemic stroke patients after acute phase.MethodsWe retrospectively analyzed clinical data, rehabilitation data, and longitudinal follow-up data from ischemic stroke patients who underwent early rehabilitation at multiple centers in China. An unfavorable functional outcome was defined as a modified Rankin Scale (mRS) score of 3–6 at 90 days after onset. Patients were randomly allocated to either a training or test cohort in a ratio of 4:1. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to identify the predictors for the development of a predictive nomogram. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) was used to evaluate predictive ability in both the training and test cohorts.ResultsA total of 856 patients (training cohort: n = 684; test cohort: n = 172) were included in this study. Among them, 518 patients experienced unfavorable outcomes 90 days after ischemic stroke. Trial of ORG 10172 in Acute Stroke Treatment classification (p = 0.024), antihypertensive agents use [odds ratio (OR) = 1.86; p = 0.041], 15-day Barthel Index score (OR = 0.930; p < 0.001) and 15-day mRS score (OR = 13.494; p < 0.001) were selected as predictors for the unfavorable outcome nomogram. The nomogram model showed good predictive performance in both the training (AUC = 0.950) and test cohorts (AUC = 0.942).ConclusionThe constructed nomogram model could be a practical tool for predicting unfavorable functional outcomes in ischemic stroke patients underwent early rehabilitation after acute phase.

Although LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 is attracting increasing attention on account of its high specific capacity, the moderate cycle lifetime still hinders its large-scale commercialization applications. Herein, the Ti-doped LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 compounds are successfully synthesized. The Li(Ni0.8Co0.1Mn0.1)0.99Ti0.01O2 sample exhibits the best electrochemical performance. Under the voltage range of 2.7–4.3 V, it maintains a reversible capacity of 151.01 mAh·g−1 with the capacity retention of 83.98% after 200 cycles at 1 C. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and differential capacity profiles during prolonged cycling demonstrate that the Ti doping could enhance both the abilities of electronic transition and Li ion diffusion. More importantly, Ti doping can also improve the reversibility of the H2-H3 phase transitions during charge-discharge cycles, thus improving the electrochemical performance of Ni-rich cathodes.

Abstract Objectives To identify the patterns and influencing factors of oral health service utilization among college students, and further to provide scientific evidence for policy making on oral health education and behavioral interventions for the college population. Methods The study population was college students in Southern China. Totally 678 students participated in the survey. A self-designed questionnaire based on Anderson’s model (predisposing factors, enabling factors, need factors) was used to survey college students. Descriptive statistics, χ2 test, and logistic regression were used to analyze influence factors of oral health service utilization among college students. Results The utilization rate of oral health service in the past 12 months was 30.2%. The primary type of oral health service was treatment (59.6%), and only 12.8% were for prevention. There were 39% of the participants having oral health diseases, of which dental caries (25.7%) and oral bleeding (22.2%) were the main problems. The results from logistic regression analysis revealed that students with better beliefs (OR = 1.84, 95% CI:=1.02–3.43), frequent consumption of sugary drinks (OR = 2.90, 95% CI:=1.90–4.47), teeth brushing frequency > = 2 times per day (OR = 2.09, 95% CI = 1.24–3.61), frequent floss utilization (OR = 2.63, 95% CI = 1.21–5.76), dental caries (OR = 2.07, 95% CI = 1.35–3.17) used oral health services higher, while those lived in rural areas (OR:0.52, 95% CI = 0.34–0.80), and had only a fair concern (OR = 0.48, 95% CI = 0.31–0.74) or no concern (OR = 0.26, 95% CI = 0.08–0.67) on oral health utilized oral health services lower. Conclusions Chinese college students demonstrate some knowledge and attitudes towards oral health. However, they tend to neglect oral hygiene and have limited understanding of their own oral issues. Furthermore, the utilization of oral services, such as treatment, remains remarkably low, despite the availability of long-term and favorable health insurance policies. The utilization of oral health services among college students is influenced by various factors, including residing in rural areas, consuming sugary beverages on a daily basis, brushing teeth at least twice a day, and practicing flossing.

The vesicle trafficking SYNTAXIN OF PLANTS132 (SYP132) drives hormone-regulated endocytic traffic to suppress the density and function of plasma membrane (PM) H+-ATPases. In response to bacterial pathogens, it also promotes secretory traffic of antimicrobial pathogenesis-related (PR) proteins. These seemingly opposite actions of SYP132 raise questions about the mechanistic connections between the two, likely independent, membrane trafficking pathways intersecting plant growth and immunity. To study SYP132 and associated trafficking of PM H+-ATPase 1 (AHA1) and PATHOGENESIS-RELATED PROTEIN1 (PR1) during pathogenesis, we used the virulent Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato DC3000 (Pst DC3000) bacteria for infection of Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana) plants. SYP132 overexpression suppressed bacterial infection in plants through the stomatal route. However, bacterial infection was enhanced when bacteria were infiltrated into leaf tissue to bypass stomatal defenses. Tracking time-dependent changes in native AHA1 and SYP132 abundance, cellular distribution, and function, we discovered that bacterial pathogen infection triggers AHA1 and SYP132 internalization from the plasma membrane. AHA1 bound to SYP132 through its regulatory SNARE Habc domain, and these interactions affected PM H+-ATPase traffic. Remarkably, using the Arabidopsis aha1 mutant, we discovered that AHA1 is essential for moderating SYP132 abundance and associated secretion of PR1 at the plasma membrane for pathogen defense. Thus, we show that during pathogenesis SYP132 coordinates AHA1 with opposing effects on the traffic of AHA1 and PR1. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

With the rapid development of economy and society, the contradiction between supply and demand of water resources is increasing. Efficient utilization and allocation of limited water resources are one of the main means to solve the above contradictions. In this paper, the multidimensional joint distribution of natural streamflow series in reservoirs is constructed by introducing the mixed Copula function, and the probability of wet and dry encounters between natural streamflow is analyzed. Luan River is located in the northeastern part of Hebei Province, China, taking the group of Panjiakou Reservoir, Douhe Reservoir and Yuqiao Reservoir in the downstream of Luan River Basin as an example, the probabilities of synchronous and asynchronous abundance and depletion of inflow from the reservoirs are calculated. The results show that the probability of natural streamflow series between reservoirs is 61.14% for asynchronous wetness and dryness, which has certain mutual compensation ability. Therefore, it is necessary to minimize the risk of water supply security in Tianjin, Tangshan and other cities, and strengthen the optimal joint water supply scheduling of reservoirs. The research results are reasonable and reliable, which can provide reference for water supply operation of other basins. HIGHLIGHTS The mixed Copula function can more flexibly describe the correlation between variables of a hydrological system.; The M-Copula function is selected as the connection function to fit the joint distribution of runoff between reservoirs.; The results of the study can be used as a reference for the optimal scheduling of water resources in other basins.;

Wuliangsuhai Lake is the largest shore lake in the upper reaches of the Yellow River and has become an important ecological barrier and habitat for birds in northern China. In recent years, pollutants and nutrient loads have been partially reduced, and the water quality in the lake area has been alleviated to a certain extent. However, the overall water treatment of Wuliangsuhai Lake is worrying and needs to be improved urgently. In this paper, according to the current situation of water quality and the goal of ecological environment protection, the ecological water demand of Wuliangsuhai Lake was estimated by using the dynamic viewpoint. The calculation of ecological water demand mainly considered: water of evaporation and leakage in the lake, and water demand of pollutant dilution. The requirements of ecological water demand in Wuliangsuhai Lake were solved in four ways: agricultural wastewater in the irrigation area; strengthening water saving in the main canal; carrying out water-saving system reform; and transporting ecological water use for washing salt to Wuliangsuhai Lake during an irrigation gap period. For Wuliangsuhai Lake in the Mengxin Plateau, which is located in a serious water shortage area, it is of great significance to protect the ecological environment by ensuring the amount of water entering the lake, maintaining the existing water surface of the lake, and giving full play to its water ecological function.

Abstract Ni2P has been decorated on CdS nanowires or nanorods for efficient photocatalytic H2 production, whereas the specific surface area remains limited because of the large size. Here, the composites of Cd0.5Zn0.5S quantum dots (QDs) on thin Ni2P porous nanosheets with high specific surface area were constructed for noble metal-free photocatalytic H2 generation. The porous Ni2P nanosheets, which were formed by the interconnection of 15–30 nm-sized Ni2P nanoparticles, allowed the uniform loading of 7 nm-sized Cd0.5Zn0.5S QDs and the loading density being controllable. By tuning the content of Ni2P, H2 generation rates of 43.3 μM h− 1 (1 mg photocatalyst) and 700 μM h− 1 (100 mg photocatalyst) and a solar to hydrogen efficiency of 1.5% were achieved for the Ni2P-Cd0.5Zn0.5S composites. The effect of Ni2P content on the light absorption, photoluminescence, and electrochemical property of the composite was systematically studied. Together with the band structure calculation based on density functional theory, the promotion of Ni2P in charge transfer and HER activity together with the shading effect on light absorption were revealed. Such a strategy can be applied to other photocatalysts toward efficient solar hydrogen generation.

Cemented sand and gravel (CSG) material is a new type of dam material developed on the basis of roller compacted concrete, hardfill, and ultra-poor cementing materials. Its main feature is a wide range of sources of aggregate (aggregate is not screened but by simply removing the large particles it can be fully graded on the dam filling) and low amounts of cementitious materials per unit volume. This dam construction material is not only economical and practical, but also green and environmentally friendly. There are many factors affecting the mechanical properties of CSG materials, such as aggregate gradation, sand ratio, water content, water–binder ratio, fly ash content, admixture content, etc. Based on the existing research results of the team, this paper focuses on the influence of fly ash content on the compressive strength of CSG materials. Through a large number of laboratory measured data, we found: (1) The compressive strength law of materials at different ages; the compressive strength of CSG material at age 90 d is generally 10%~30% higher than that at 28 d, and it is proposed that 90 d or 180 d strength should be used as the design strength in the design of CSG material dam; (2) There is an optimal value of fly ash content in CSG materials: when the fly ash content is 50% of the total amount of cementitious materials (cement + fly ash), the fly ash content is defined as the optimal content, and the test data are verified by regression analysis. The discovery of an ‘optimal dosage’ of fly ash provides an important reference for the design and construction of CSG dams.

Metallic transition metal dichalcogenides are important materials for catalysis, but scalable and controllable preparation methods are scarce. Here, the authors synthesize 2H-TaS2 as centimetre-scale films of tunable thickness and show they are an efficient catalyst for hydrogen evolution.
