This study is principally designed to examine the changes in the efficiency, effective resource allocation and future operation strategies of Taiwan's international tourist hotel in global economic downturn. At first, we set up critical input and output factors and construct an assessment model using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) for analysis of relative efficiency. Further, we apply an allocative efficiency model for additional considerations of each input cost and analyse proper and effective resource allocation. Finally, there are significant changes in overall efficiency of international tourist hotels under global financial crisis. We can also reach an effective allocation of the overall resources. In such cases, lowering cost has become a key issue for sustainable operation of international tourist hotel. Two new batch construction heuristics called K-means Batching (KMB) and Self-organisation Map Batching (SOMB) are developed and verified by simulation experiments. Both KMB and SOMB have a preferment of superior performance in total travel distance and average picking vehicle utility, and even a conspicuous improvement in total CPU running time. Besides, this paper investigates the overall performance of order picking systems integrating storage assignment, order batching and picker routing to find the optimal policy combinations under different order types. The sensitivity analysis is performed to distinguish the relative importance of the various strategies to enhance the performance of operations management.

This study attempts to comprehend the influence on vocational college library in Taiwan through the four structural dimensions of the balanced scorecard on financial perspective, customer perspective, internal process perspective, and learning and growth perspective, and investigate them further and thoroughly. Based on the author’s fifteen-years working experience on vocational college library, this paper provides management strategies to assist vocational college library in enhancing performance of library service, and expect to create a new vision for future development of vocational college library in Taiwan.

Taiwan's economic growth has improved the quality of life and raised the standard of the tourism industry in Taiwan. This paper selects the hotel industry, in order to assess how international tourist hotels operate their business by applying data envelopment analysis (DEA) to measure their operational efficiency and effectiveness. By using the DEA model to assess the results of the relative efficiency and effectiveness of hotels to improve their operations, the paper also aims to rank the hotels by applying the VlseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje method combined with entropy weight among the criteria.

This research utilizes relational network data envelopment analysis to construct a model to analyze the efficiency and effectiveness of international tourist hotels (ITHs) in Taiwan. The different production processes within the hotel are evaluated, as well as the relationships between efficiency, effectiveness, and overall performance. Finally, based on the results, we recommend ways of enhancing the overall performance of the hotel industry in Taiwan.

This research explores customer's expectations of service quality in hot spring hotels in Taiwan. Based on the five dimensions of PZB service quality, a specialist questionnaire is utilized to establish a complete service quality evaluation framework for hot spring hotels. In this research, analysis network process (ANP) is applied to find the relative weights among the criteria and to emphasize the interdependent relationships, thus increasing the accuracy of our results. Finally, the service quality evaluation framework and evaluation results can be used as a guide for hot spring hotel proprietors to review, improve, and enhance service planning and service qualities in the future.

Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) play a significant role in technological strategic deployment. This case study describes a methodology applying two-stage grey decision-making to help businesses recognize the role of technology in creation of wealth to acquire opportunities for technology push. The study results show that the application can effectively assist corporations in controlling selection of technological assets and tailor a technological asset investment mode for them.

From literature review and deep understanding on the practical industry, it is understood that the proper use of storage assignment policies can use minimum storage space to reach the purpose of minimum total traveling distance, and this has a direct impact on enhancing the order picking performance. At the same time, proper routing planning can minimize overall order picking cost, and finally reach the goal of picking performance enhancement in unit time. Therefore, this paper considers the effects on the order picking system performance for factors such as quantity and layout type of cross aisles in a warehouse system, storage assignment policy, picking route, average picking density inside an aisle, and order combination type, etc. A software, eM-plant, will be used as a simulation and analysis tool, a warehouse design database will be developed, which is based on the minimum overall traveling distance as the optimum performance index, the cross aisle quantity, warehouse layout, storage assignment, picking route planning, picking density and order combination type will be optimally integrated and planned in the warehouse system. Finally, we provide this database to the industry as a reference in the warehouse planning or warehouse design improvement in the future .

Due to the high costs of wafer materials and machines, it is feasible to apply rework to increase wafer yield at the photolithography stage. At the same time, in order to maintain good fabrication quality, shorten the process time and meet the required due date, it is absolutely necessary to have good rework strategies for wafer rework so as to make up the wafer defects in the photolithography area. In order to find the best fabrication control combination, this paper studied rework strategies to be applied in coordination with some commonly used dispatching rules at the photolithography stage. By applying simulation, combination models between the foregoing rework strategies and the five commonly used dispatching rules, including FIFO, SPT, EDD, SRPT and CR(superscript +), were analyzed individually to find the most suitable rework model for each specific production goal.

Automated guided vehicles are commonly employed in modern automated material handling systems or flexible manufacturing systems. In a tandem AGV system, all stations are properly divided into several nonoverlaping closed loops according to the flow among stations. The transit area located between two adjacent loops serves as an interface and allows loads to be transferred from one loop to another. Material flow that is not located within the same loop will start from the pick-up station and head for its destination via the transit station. The load routing problem of a tandem AGV system has been a major factor affecting the performance of the material handling system. Under the objective of transporting all loads to their destinations in minimum traveling time, the routes for all loads in a tandem AGV system are planned in this paper.

Explains that a tandem automated guided vehicle (AGV) system is composed of several non‐overlapping closed loops. Stations or machines within each loop are served by a single dedicated vehicle. The transit area located between two adjacent loops serves as an interface and allows loads to be transferred from one loop to another. If a load needs to be delivered to a machine not located within the same loop, the load will need more than one vehicle to carry it to its destination. Develops a model to solve the machine partition and layout problems concurrently in tandem AGV systems. During the design process, the objective is to minimize the number of loops to reduce the setup costs of AGVs in the system. The main purpose of this study is developing green supply chain management strategies of hotel-centered in vegetable and fruit purchasing and recycling. According to our another study, Constructing the Green Supply Chain Model of the International Tourist Hotel in Casting Service, we suggest 12 strategies for hotel industry to develop hotel-centered green supply chain management in this paper.

This paper is applying the DEA to get the pricing efficiency between customer satisfactions and corporate brand image. This paper utilizes triangular Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to evaluate the efficiency and amount of improvement. Moreover, the original DEA has weakness in the corresponding items compared with other DMUs. Therefore, we apply other DEA AR model in this paper in order to get the accuracy price efficiency for 10 leisure hotels.

The most serious difficulty in human resources confronted by the vocational college e-libraries of today in Taiwan are resulted from extreme shortage in number of librarians of various libraries, room for improvement in librarian quality and the lack of performance fostering system for librarians. The paper tries to combine innovative human resource practices and systems of business circle in USA and a concept of competency introduced by the business circle of USA, UK and Japan consecutively, conducts in-depth discussion in terms of the effect of human resources at vocational college e-libraries in Taiwan; and plans to propose human resources management strategies that are beneficial to vocational college e-libraries in Taiwan, so as to achieve a purpose of fostering the performance of library affairs to expect to create new opportunities for future development of vocational college e-libraries.

Base on the global economics crunch, the enterprise start to reduce the cost in many segments of supply chain in order to reduce the management cost. Therefore, this paper develops a new order batching heuristic (SOMB) for the order picking systems in distribution centers. It applies the idea of Self Organization Map to cluster the orders with higher relativity into a batch to reduce the total order picking distances. The number of SKUs in an order and the number of the same aisles covered for an order batch are the key decision factors. The increasing of SKUs in an order would affect optimum weights of SOMB; also, the weights should be more exactness to enhance the performance of order picking operations. A simulation experiment is executed to verify that the SOMB heuristic can reduce the order picking distances and increasing the utilization of picking vehicle.

The main purpose of this study is applying TRIZ theory to construct the Green Supply Chain management (GSCM) strategies for the international tourist hotel. Based on the theory of TRIZ, we use the contradiction matrix to compare against the paradox of the environmental impacts, which were generated by the fine cuisine. Then we search for the solutions with TRIZ 40 innovation principles, propose our strategies, and construct a Green Supply Chain Model. Accordance with this GSCM model would offer the purchasing department of international tourist hotel feedback to the direction of purchasing process and the strategy of future planning. Moreover, the application of TRIZ creates its practical value for the specific industry in Green Supply Chain Management field.
