Background: The objective of this study was to investigate the correlation between the 7-joint ultrasound score (US7) and disease activity in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Methods: Forty-four patients with active RA were assessed, and the correlation between US7 and disease activity indicators such as the disease activity score (DAS28), rheumatoid factor (RF), the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), and C-reactive protein (CRP) was analyzed. In addition, the proportions of US7 points accounted for by different joint regions and joint surfaces were analyzed. Results: RF, CRP, and ESR were significantly increased in the RA group compared with the control group (P < 0.05). In the RA group, DAS28 (r = 0.0.561, P < 0.01), RF (r = 0.635, P < 0.01), ESR (r = 0.585, P < 0.01), and CRP (r = 0.492, P < 0.01) were positively correlated with US7. In terms of contributions to US7, the most susceptible joint surface is the dorsal surface, and the most susceptible joint area is the dorsal wrist. Conclusion: US7 is positively correlated with disease activity indicators of RA, which can objectively reflect disease activity in RA patients and provide a reference for clinical diagnosis and efficacy evaluation.

Abstract Bimetallic PtRu are promising electrocatalysts for hydrogen oxidation reaction in anion exchange membrane fuel cell, where the activity and stability are still unsatisfying. Here, PtRu nanowires were implanted with a series of oxophilic metal atoms (named as i-M-PR), significantly enhancing alkaline hydrogen oxidation reaction (HOR) activity and stability. With the dual doping of In and Zn atoms, the i-ZnIn-PR/C shows mass activity of 10.2 A mgPt+Ru −1 at 50 mV, largely surpassing that of commercial Pt/C (0.27 A mgPt −1) and PtRu/C (1.24 A mgPt+Ru −1). More importantly, the peak power density and specific power density are as high as 1.84 W cm−2 and 18.4 W mgPt+Ru −1 with a low loading (0.1 mg cm−2) anion exchange membrane fuel cell. Advanced experimental characterizations and theoretical calculations collectively suggest that dual doping with In and Zn atoms optimizes the binding strengths of intermediates and promotes CO oxidation, enhancing the HOR performances. This work deepens the understanding of developing novel alloy catalysts, which will attract immediate interest in materials, chemistry, energy and beyond.

Abstract With the development of artificial intelligence, neural network provides unique opportunities for holography, such as high fidelity and dynamic calculation. How to obtain real 3D scene and generate high fidelity hologram in real time is an urgent problem. Here, we propose a liquid lens based holographic camera for real 3D scene hologram acquisition using an end-to-end physical model-driven network (EEPMD-Net). As the core component of the liquid camera, the first 10 mm large aperture electrowetting-based liquid lens is proposed by using specially fabricated solution. The design of the liquid camera ensures that the multi-layers of the real 3D scene can be obtained quickly and with great imaging performance. The EEPMD-Net takes the information of real 3D scene as the input, and uses two new structures of encoder and decoder networks to realize low-noise phase generation. By comparing the intensity information between the reconstructed image after depth fusion and the target scene, the composite loss function is constructed for phase optimization, and the high-fidelity training of hologram with true depth of the 3D scene is realized for the first time. The holographic camera achieves the high-fidelity and fast generation of the hologram of the real 3D scene, and the reconstructed experiment proves that the holographic image has the advantage of low noise. The proposed holographic camera is unique and can be used in 3D display, measurement, encryption and other fields.

Abstract Ni-based hydrogen oxidation reaction (HOR) electrocatalysts are promising anode materials for the anion exchange membrane fuel cells (AEMFCs), but their application is hindered by their inherent instability for practical operations. Here, we report a TiO2 supported Ni4Mo (Ni4Mo/TiO2) catalyst that can effectively catalyze HOR in alkaline electrolyte with a mass activity of 10.1 ± 0.9 A g−1 Ni and remain active even up to 1.2 V. The Ni4Mo/TiO2 anode AEMFC delivers a peak power density of 520 mW cm−2 and durability at 400 mA cm−2 for nearly 100 h. The origin for the enhanced activity and stability is attributed to the down-shifted d band center, caused by the efficient charge transfer from TiO2 to Ni. The modulated electronic structure weakens the binding strength of oxygen species, rendering a high stability. The Ni4Mo/TiO2 has achieved greatly improved stability both in half cell and single AEMFC tests, and made a step forward for feasibility of efficient and durable AEMFCs.

Abstract It has long been believed that skin modes are equivalent to the nontrivial point gap. However, we find that this concomitance can be broken, in that skin modes can be absent or present when the point gap is nontrivial or trivial, respectively, named anomalous non-Hermitian skin effect. This anomalous phenomenon arises whenever unidirectional hopping amplitudes emerge among subsystems, where sub-chains have decoupling-like behaviors and contribute only to the energy levels without particle occupation. The occurrence of anomalous non-Hermitian skin effect is accompanied by changes in open boundary eigenvalues, whose structure exhibits multifold exceptional points and can not be recovered by continuum bands. Moreover, an experimental setup is proposed to simulate this effect. Our results reveal the topologically inequivalence of skin modes and point gap. This effect not only provides a deeper understanding of non-Bloch theory and critical phenomena, but may inspire applications, such as in sensor field.

Abstract An excellent single-atomic photocatalyst, Ti@C4N3, is theoretically found to effectively convert CO2 to C2H6 by density functional theory (DFT) calculations and non-adiabatic molecular dynamics (NAMD) simulations. The Ti@C4N3 photocatalyst has remarkable stability both thermally, chemically, and mechanically. Electronically, it has strong absorption properties (λ = 327.77 and 529.61 nm), suitable band positions, and a long photogenerated electron lifetime (τ e = 38.21 ps), allowing photogenerated electrons to migrate to the surface. Notably, the high-valence active site effectively activates two CO2 through dual activation: Under light irradiation, the weakly adsorbed CO2 undergoes photo-induced activation by the photoelectron of conduction band minimum (CBM); without light, the high Lewis acidity of the Ti site induces CO2 activation through back-donating π-bond. Contrast simulation results uncovered that dual activation of CO2 is attributed to the thermal and photonic synergy. Furthermore, two activated CO2 species under light easily couple to form oxalate with the barrier of 0.19 eV, and further reduced to C2H6 with a low activation energy of 1.09 eV.

Abstract This study aimed to investigate the therapeutic efficacy of programmed spatial anatomy of myopectineal orifice technique in laparoscopic total extraperitoneal hernioplasty (TEP) surgery. A total of 121 adult male patients with unilateral inguinal hernias who underwent TEP in the Department of General Surgery, Wujin Hospital, affiliated with Jiangsu University, from January 2019 to December 2020 were selected. Patients were divided into the procedural (63 cases) and traditional groups (58 cases) according to the surgical methods adopted. The procedural group underwent programmed spatial anatomy of the myopectineal orifice combined with TEP, and the traditional group underwent traditional TEP. The perioperative evaluation indicators and postoperative complications were observed and compared between the two groups. Compared with the traditional group, the time of handling hernia, the intraoperative operation time, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative ambulation time, and postoperative hospital stay in the procedural group were significantly reduced (P 0.05). The programmed spatial anatomy of the myopectineal orifice can significantly improve the treatment outcome of TEP, significantly improve the patients' intraoperative and postoperative indicators, and reduce the incidence of postoperative complications. It is worthy of being promoted among young physicians and basic hospitals.

The protein encoded by dynein axonemal heavy chain 1 (DNAH1) is a part of dynein, which regulates the function of cilia and sperm flagella. The mutant of DNAH1 causes the deletion of inner dynein arm 3 in the flagellum, leading to multiple morphological abnormalities of the sperm flagella (MMAF) and severe asthenozoospermia. However, instead of asthenozoospermia and MMAF, the result caused by the mutation of DNAH1 remains unknown. Here we report a male infertility patient with severe asthenozoospermia and teratozoospermia. We found two heterozygous mutations in DNAH1 (c.6912C>A and c.7076G>T) and which were reported to be associated with MMAF for the first time. We next collected and analyzed 65 cases of DNAH1 mutation and found that the proportion of short flagella is the largest, while the bent flagella account for the smallest, and the incidence of head deformity is not high in the sperm of these patients. Finally, we also analyzed 31 DNAH1 mutation patients who were treated with intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) and achieved beneficial outcomes. We hope our research will be helpful in the diagnosis and treatment of male infertility caused by DNAH1 mutation.

Abstract We investigate topological nonlinear optics with spin-orbit coupled Bose-Einstein condensate in a cavity. The cavity is driven by a pump laser and a weak probe laser. Both lasers excite Bose-Einstein condensate, in the presence of standard Raman process for spin-orbit coupling, to an intermediate storage level. We theoretically show that the quantum interference at the transitional pathways of dressed atomic states results in different types of optical transparencies, which get completely inverted in atomic damping induced gain regime. The synthetic pseudo-spin states also implant different phases in the probe field forcing modes in probe transparencies to form gapless Dirac cones, which become gapped in presence of Raman detuning. These features get interestingly enhanced in gain regime where the amplified part of probe transparencies appear as gapless topological edge-like states between the probe bulk modes and cause non-trivial phase transition. We illustrate that the nonlinear interactions of the pseudo-spin states also enhance the slow light features in probe transmission. The manipulation of dressed states for topological optical transparencies in our findings could be a crucial step towards topological photonics and their application in quantum computation.

ABSTRACT During a 2020 routine epidemiological investigation of carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales at a local food market in Guangzhou, China, two Escherichia coli ST410 isolates coproducing NDM-5 and OXA-181 were obtained from environmental samples. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing, whole-genome sequencing, and conjugation assays were applied to identify their resistance phenotypes, phylogenetic relatedness, and genetic characteristics. Phylogenetic analysis showed that the two isolates were clonally related with only one core-genome single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) difference and clustered into a branch with 87 E. coli ST410 isolates deposited in GenBank. These 89 ST410 isolates were closely related (≤51 SNPs), and most were from humans in Southeast Asian countries (n = 47). A Vietnamese clinical isolate collected in 2017 showed the strongest epidemiological link (seven SNPs) to the two ST410 isolates detected in this study. Complete-genome analysis revealed that the carbapenem resistance determinants blaNDM-5 and blaOXA-181 were located on an IncF1:A1:B49-IncQ1 plasmid and IncX3 plasmid, respectively. Conjugation experiments confirmed that the IncX3 plasmid was self-transmissible while the IncF1:A1:B49-IncQ1 plasmid was nonconjugative. BLASTn analysis indicated that the two plasmids showed high similarity to other blaNDM-5-bearing IncF1:A1:B49-IncQ1 and blaOXA-181-bearing IncX3 plasmids from other countries. Altogether, the high similarity of the core genomes and plasmids between the ST410 isolates found in this study and those human source isolates from foreign countries suggested the clonal spread of E. coli ST410 strains and horizontal transmission of blaOXA-181-bearing IncX3 plasmids across Southeast Asian countries. Stringent sanitary management of food markets is important to prevent the dissemination of high-risk clones to the public. IMPORTANCE This is the first report of an Escherichia coli ST410 clone that coproduces NDM-5 and OXA-181 in China. The high similarity of the core genomes and plasmids between the ST410 isolates characterized in this study and human source isolates from foreign countries strongly suggests that this ST410 lineage is an international high-risk clone, highlighting the need for continuous global surveillance of ST410 clones.

We investigate the thermodynamics and fluctuations of a finite-time quantum Otto engine alter- natively driven by a hot-squeezed and a cold thermal reservoir. We show that reservoir squeezing significantly enhances the performance by increasing the thermodynamic efficiency and the power and enables higher stability by decreasing the relative power fluctuations and speeding up the convergence of quantum efficiency to its most probable value. We also demonstrate the counterintuitive result that the efficiency can be larger than the Otto limit in the finite-time operation. Experimental demonstration of this quantum heat engine can be available, based on a single-electron spin pertaining to a trapped ^{40}Ca^{+} ion [D. von Lindenfels et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 123, 080602 (2019)0031-900710.1103/PhysRevLett.123.080602]. We provide a general framework for reliably studying the finite-time nanoengine in finite-time operation which accounts for quantum friction and coherence, deriving important insights into the thermodynamic behaviors beyond the classical thermal machines.

Surface-enhanced Raman scattering technology plays a prominent role in spectroscopy. By introducing plasmonic metals and photonic crystals as a substrate, SERS signals can achieve further enhancement. However, the conventional doping preparation methods of these SERS substrates are insufficient in terms of metal-loading capacity and the coupling strength between plasmonic metals and photonic crystals, both of which reduce the SERS activity and reproducibility of SERS substrates. In this work, we report an approach combining spin-coating, surface modification, and in situ reduction methods. Using this approach, a photonic crystal array of SiO2@Au core–shell structure nanoparticles was prepared as a SERS substrate (SiO2@Au NP array). To study the SERS properties of these substrates, Rhodamine 6G was employed as the probe molecule. Compared with a Au-SiO2 NP array prepared using doping methods, the SiO2@Au NP array presented better SERS properties, and it reproduced the SERS spectra after one month. The detection limit of the Rhodamine 6G on SiO2@Au NP array reached 1 × 10−8 mol/L; furthermore, the relative standard deviation (9.82%) of reproducibility and the enhancement factor (1.51 × 106) were evaluated. Our approach provides a new potential option for the preparation of SERS substrates and offers a potential advantage in trace contaminant detection, and nondestructive testing.

BackgroundThe acidic microenvironment (AME), like hypoxia, inflammation, or immunoreaction, is a hallmark of the tumor microenvironment (TME). This work aimed to develop a prediction signature dependent on AME-associated lncRNAs in order to predict the prognosis of LC individuals.MethodsWe downloaded RNA-seq information and the corresponding clinical and predictive data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) dataset and conducted univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses to identify AME-associated lncRNAs for the construction of a prediction signature The Kaplan-Meier technique was utilized to determine the overall survival (OS) rate of the high (H)-risk and low (L)-risk groups. Using gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) the functional variations between the H- and L-risk groups were investigated. The association between the prediction signature and immunological state was investigated using single-sample GSEA (ssGSEA). Additionally, the association between the predicted signature and the therapeutic response of LC individuals was evaluated. Lastly, quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) was performed to verify the risk model.ResultsWe generated a signature comprised of seven AME-associated lncRNAs (LINC01116, AC002511.2, LINC00426, ARHGAP31-AS1, LINC01060, TMCC1-AS1, AC012065.1). The H-risk group had a worse prognosis than the L- risk group. The AME-associated lncRNA signature might determine the prognosis of individuals with LC independently. The AME-related lncRNA signature shows a greater predictive effectiveness than clinic-pathological factors, with an area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve of 0.806%. When participants were categorized based on several clinico-pathological characteristics, the OS of high-risk individuals was shorter compared to low-risk patients. GSEA demonstrated that the metabolism of different acids and the PPAR signaling pathway are closely associated with low-risk individuals. The prognostic signature was substantially associated with the immunological status of LC individuals, as determined by ssGSEA. High risk individuals were more sensitive to some immunotherapies (including anti-TNFSF4 anti-SIRPA, anti-CD276 and anti-TNFSF15) and some conventional chemotherapy drugs (including lapatinib and paclitaxel). Finally, the expression levels of the seven lncRNAs comprising the signature were tested by qRT-PCR.ConclusionsA basis for the mechanism of AME-associated lncRNAs in LC is provided by the prediction signature, which also offers clinical therapeutic recommendations for LC individuals.

ObjectivesTo develop a novel difficulty scoring system (NDSS) to predict the surgical difficulty of laparoscopic hepatectomy.Patients and methodsA total of 138 patients with liver tumors performed liver resection (LLR) between March 2017 to June 2022 were selected from Affiliated Hospital of Jiangnan University and Wujin Hospital Affiliated with Jiangsu University.Patient demographics, laboratory tests, intraoperative variables, pathological characteristics were assessed. We also assessed the Child Pugh score and the DSS-B score.ResultsPatients were divided into training and testing cohort according to their hospital. Patients in training cohort were divided into high and low difficult groups based on operation time, blood loss and conversion. Higher percentage of patients with malignant liver tumor (87.0% vs. 58.1%; P = 0.003) or history of hepatobiliary surgery (24.1% vs. 7.0%; P = 0.043) in high difficult group than in low difficult group. To improve the difficulty scoring system, we incorporated the history of hepatobiliary surgery and nature of the tumor. A novel difficulty scoring system was established. The results showed that the operation time (P < 0.001), blood loss (P < 0.001), ALT (P < 0.001) and AST (P = 0.001) were associated with the novel difficulty score significantly. Compared with DSS-B, the NDSS has a higher area under the receiver operating characteristic (AUROC) (0.838 vs. 0.814). The nomogram was established according to the NDSS. The AUROCs of the nomogram in training and testing cohort were 0.833 and 0.767. The calibration curves for the probability of adverse event showed optimal agreement between the probability as predicted by the nomogram and the actual probability.ConclusionsWe developed a nomogram with the NDSS that can predict the difficulty of LLR. This system could more accurately reflect the difficulty of surgery and help liver surgeons to make the surgical plan and ensure the safety of the operation.

BackgroundType 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is an independent risk factor for functional limitations among the older population. The predicted increase in T2DM cases combined with the ongoing rapidly aging population may further burden the already overloaded healthcare system and aggravate the loss of economic self-sufficiency. This study aimed to investigate the activities of daily living (ADL) and its influencing factors on older people with T2DM, and to provide implications for the development and improvement of community nursing services in the context rapidly aging population in China.MethodsFrom March 2019 to June 2020, we conducted a cross-sectional questionnaire survey among older T2DM patients in Fuzhou, using a multi-stage cluster sampling approach. Functional status was measured by the Lawton ADL scale. Stata “nptrend” test was used to examine the trend of ordinal variables on ADL. Non-conditional logistic regression was used to identify factors affecting ADL limitations.ResultsA total of 2016 questionnaires were received, with a response rate of 96%. 12.4% of participants suffered from varying degrees of functional impairment. ADL limitations increased with age. More comorbidities were associated with a greater risk of developing functional limitations in ADLs. the following sub-groups were more likely to suffer from ADL impairment: those aged 70 and over years (OR = 1.99, 95%CI 1.77–2.56), living in an aged care house or with spouse/children (OR = 2.31, 95%CI 1.25–4.26), low monthly income (OR = 1.49, 95%CI 1.28–1.64), without health insurance (OR = 1.82, 95%CI 1.40–2.40), tight family expenses (OR = 1.95, 95%CI 1.42–2.69), having stroke (OR = 6.70, 95%CI 2.22–20.23) or malignant tumor (OR = 4.45, 95%CI 1.27–15.53), irregular eating habit (OR = 2.55, 95%CI 2.23–2.92), smoking (OR = 1.40, 95%CI 1.22–1.60), sedentary lifestyle (OR = 2.04, 95%CI 1.46–2.85), lack of physical exercise (OR = 1.35, 95%CI 1.19–1.53), sleeping difficulty (OR = 1.25, 95%CI 1.10–1.42), and lack of family support (OR = 1.19, 95%CI 1.10–1.29).ConclusionOlder adults (≥70 years) with T2DM had a high prevalence of functional limitations across a range of daily living tasks, which not only affect individual life of quality but also present a huge burden on the family, health services system, and the whole society. Identified factors associated with ADL limitations may provide useful information for targeted nursing practice and health promotion.

Objectives: We developed a new Bakri balloon tamponade (BBT) placement technique after vaginal delivery, which aimed to be faster without balloon slippage. This study compared the new method with standard placement of BBT in women with postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) after vaginal delivery. Material and methods: This study was undertaken of women who underwent vaginal delivery at the obstetrics and gynecology departments of the Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Sichuan Provincial Hospital for Women and Children, and Si Chuan JINXIN Women and Children Hospital between January 2014 and December 2020. Women who underwent BBT for PPH were grouped according to placement method into the old-BBT group and the new-BBT group. Results: Of 20487 childbirths by vaginal delivery, 512 (2.50%) had PPH, 77 women underwent BBT (old-BBT n = 28, new-BBT n = 49). Background characteristics were similar except prothrombin time (PT, p < 0.01) and activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT, p < 0.004) were lower in the new-BBT group than the old-BBT group. The operation time was shorter in the new-BBT group (p < 0.001) with less bleeding (p < 0.003) and saline injection (p < 0.001). A balloon slippage was less likely (p < 0.008) and postoperative bleeding (p < 0.01), transfusion rate (p < 0.03), transfusion volume (p < 0.002), and hospital stay was lower in the new-BBT group (p < 0.015). Multivariate analysis suggested PT (OR = 0.039, 95% CI: 0.002-0.730, p < 0.030), international normalized ratio (OR = 8.244, 95% CI: 3.807-17.850, p < 0.009), and BBT method (OR = 5.200, 95% CI: 1.745-15.493, p < 0.003), were associated with requiring a blood transfusion. Conclusions: This method of BBT placement reduced operation time, balloon slippage, bleeding, and hospital stay in women with PPH after vaginal delivery. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) infected by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) has been declared a public health emergency of international concerns. Cytokine storm syndrome (CSS) is a critical clinical symptom of severe COVID-19 patients, and the macrophage is recognized as the direct host cell of SARS-CoV-2 and potential drivers of CSS. In the present study, peramivir was identified to reduce TNF-α by partly intervention of NF-κB activity in LPS-induced macrophage model. In vivo, peramivir reduced the multi-cytokines in serum and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF), alleviated the acute lung injury and prolonged the survival time in mice. In human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (hPBMCs), peramivir could also inhibit the release of TNF-α. Collectively, we proposed that peramivir might be a candidate for the treatment of COVID-19 and other infections related CSS.

Abstract Background The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has caused a public catastrophe and global concern. The main symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, cough, myalgia, fatigue and lower respiratory tract infection signs. Almost all populations are susceptible to the virus, and the basic reproduction number (R 0) is 2.8–3.9. The fight against COVID-19 should have two aspects: one is the treatment of infected patients, and the other is the mobilization of the society to avoid the spread of the virus. The treatment of patients includes supportive treatment, antiviral treatment, and oxygen therapy. For patients with severe acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and circulatory support are recommended. Plasma therapy and traditional Chinese medicine have also achieved good outcomes. This review is intended to summarize the research on this new coronavirus, to analyze the similarities and differences between COVID-19 and previous outbreaks of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) and to provide guidance regarding new methods of prevention, diagnosis and clinical treatment based on autodock simulations. Methods This review compares the multifaceted characteristics of the three coronaviruses including COVID-19, SARS and MERS. Our researchers take the COVID-19, SARS, and MERS as key words and search literatures in the Pubmed database. We compare them horizontally and vertically which respectively means concluding the individual characteristics of each coronavirus and comparing the similarities and differences between the three coronaviruses. Results We searched for studies on each outbreak and their solutions and found that the main biological differences among SARS-CoV-2, SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV are in ORF1a and the sequence of gene spike coding protein-S. We also found that the types and severity of clinical symptoms vary, which means that the diagnosis and nursing measures also require differentiation. In addition to the common route of transmission including airborne transmission, these three viruses have their own unique routes of transmission such as fecal-oral route of transmission COVID-19. Conclusions In evolutionary history, these three coronaviruses have some similar biological features as well as some different mutational characteristics. Their receptors and routes of transmission are not all the same, which makes them different in clinical features and treatments. We discovered through the autodock simulations that Met124 plays a key role in the efficiency of drugs targeting ACE2, such as remdesivir, chloroquine, ciclesonide and niclosamide, and may be a potential target in COVID-19.

Fast-Neutron Multiplicity Counter based on Liquid Scintillator Detector can directly measure the fast neutron multiplicity emitted by UO2 rod. HPGe gamma spectrometer; which has superior energy resolution; is routinely used for the gamma energy spectrum measurement. Combing Fast-Neutron Multiplicity Counter and HPGe γ-spectrometer, the n/γ joint measurement system is developed. The fast neutron multiplicity and gamma energy spectrum of UO2 rod assemblies under different conditions are measured by the n/γ joint measurement system. The induced fission rate and the 235U abundance, thereby the 235U mass; can be obtained for UO2 rod assemblies. The 235U mass deviation of the measured value from the reference value is less than 5%. The results show that the n/γ joint measurement system is effective and applicable in the measurement of the 235U mass in samples. Abstract The indole scaffold is one of the most important heterocyclic ring systems for pharmaceutical development, and serves as an active moiety in several clinical drugs. Fungi derived from marine origin are more liable to produce novel indole-containing natural products due to their extreme living environments. The indole alkaloids from marine fungi have drawn considerable attention for their unique chemical structures and significant biological activities. This review attempts to provide a summary of the structural diversity of marine fungal indole alkaloids including prenylated indoles, diketopiperazine indoles, bisindoles or trisindoles, quinazoline-containing indoles, indole-diterpenoids, and other indoles, as well as their known biological activities, mainly focusing on cytotoxic, kinase inhibitory, antiinflammatory, antimicrobial, anti-insecticidal, and brine shrimp lethal effects. A total of 306 indole alkaloids from marine fungi have been summarized, covering the references published from 1995 to early 2021, expecting to be beneficial for drug discovery in the future.

AIM: To evaluate the diagnostic value of B-scan ultrasound and explore the cytological characteristics of patients with vitreoretinal lymphoma (VRL) and primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL). METHODS: The clinical data and pathologic specimens from patients with VRL diagnosed at the North Huashan Hospital from 2016 to 2017 were retrospectively reviewed. The patients were diagnosed by slit lamp ophthalmoscopy, B-scan ultrasound, cytology of the vitreous, which was obtained by vitrectomy, and cytokine measurements of interleukin (IL)-10 and IL-6. RESULTS: Twenty-six eyes (19.4%) out of 134 eyes of 67 patients (47 men and 20 women) with PCNSL were diagnosed with VRL by B-scan ultrasound, and 14 eyes (10.4%) were diagnosed by slit lamp ophthalmoscopy. Twenty-four eyes (17.9%) of 17 patients were confirmed as having VRL with cytology. No difference in the association between intracranial lesion location and ocular involvement was found. VRL patients had higher levels of vitreous IL-10 and IL-10/IL-6 when compared with macular hole cases, but the difference was not statistically significant. CONCLUSION: A total of 25.4% of the PCNSL patients had VRL, B-scan ultrasound examination had characteristic features and is recommended over slit lamp ophthalmoscopy for the screening diagnosis of PCNSL with intraocular involvement. Moreover, the cytological and immunohistochemical analyses performed after 25-gauge diagnostic vitrectomy were accurate diagnostic techniques.
