There was no recommendation in the current guidelines for how long after the pulmonary embolism (PE) attack the patient can fly again safely on an airplane. A 45 years old female was admitted to our hospital because of deep vein thrombosis and acute PE. Due to persistent leg swelling and afraid of recurrent PE for long distance flights, this patient received four weeks anticoagulant therapy before flying. Eventually, she flew back safely. This report describes our preliminary experience for managing this patient with deep vein thrombosis and PE.

Land use planning decisions in New Zealand, including those that aim to manage levels of risk from natural hazards, are regulated by the Resource Management Act 1991 (RMA). The RMA includes a requirement to quantify costs and benefits of proposed policy options. A project has been undertaken to determine whether RiskScape, a risk modelling tool, can offer a means of quantifying costs and benefits relating to risk management options in the manner required by section 32 of the RMA. An actual plan change to manage flood risk in Palmerston North City was chosen as a case study. This imposed a minimum floor level requirement for new buildings, above the 0.5% annual exceedance probability flood level. Using RiskScape, two scenarios were modelled and then compared: a future built environment with and without the minimum floor level in place. Results produced were losses avoided by imposing the requirement. This was found to be useful quantitative information to inform the assessments of costs and benefits and efficiency and effectiveness that are required by section 32 of the RMA. The quantitative data are able to replace generalised qualitative statements that are common in section 32 assessments, and improve the robustness and transparency of the assessment. Key practicalities for using RiskScape to inform section 32 assessments were found to be the availability of asset, hazard and vulnerability data, and a planning framework that provides enough certainty about what a future built environment might look like. The present research attempts to identify the impact of publicity on business demand in order to improve in order to improve the private sports clubs management. The study allowed an in-depth analysis on customer perception regarding the informative character of publicity, the attractiveness and credibility of the publicity message, respectively, confidence, design and easy access of webpage in a Romanian private tennis club. The study aims to analyze the individual impact of the variable "publicity" on the variable "demand", identifying important information regarding the quality assurance and the customer perception improvement of sports club services with effects in increasing demand and increasing customer loyalty. The study was based on an exploratory type of research, realizing on the random sample consisting of 200 actual and potential clubs customers (which represents 200 valid questionnaires). The study revealed the fact that between private sports club publicity and its demand is a strong correlation, thus, the publicity explains the variation of private sports club demand.

This study attempts to identify ways to develop a model of analysis and internal audit of human resources in order to identify best practices and measures to improve human resource management, aiming their implementation in the Romanian textiles industry companies. The study aimed at highlighting the most appropriate ways in which the company management can improve the effectiveness and efficiency of using human resources, taking into account the characteristics and peculiarities of planning, organization and operational human resources activities and processes. In this respect, we characterize the Romanian textile industry, thus the present study took into consideration the analysis of the following variables: "strategic human resource management", "quality management", "human resource planning and "human resources motivation". For this purpose, the study is based on a representative sample of 22 companies from Romanian textile industry in which has been distributed 200 questionnaires. In the second part of the study we realized an experimental research based on a model of human resource internal audit which aims to identify good practice and complex issues faced by the Romanian textiles companies.
