Abstract

A facile method to prepare microfiltration membrane was proposed in this study. The method involved the interfacial polymerization of 1,6-hexamethylene diamine and adipoyl chloride to form polyamide (nylon 6,6) on the polyacrylonitrile (PAN) electrospun nanofi-brous (ENF) membranes as the scaffold. The effects of process parameters, such as monomer concentrations, monomer coating sequence, reaction time and number of reaction cycles, on the amount of polyamide that formed were investigated. It was found that polyamide that formed by interfacial polymerization existed not only on the surface but also in the interior of the ENF membranes. A mechanism was proposed to explain the phenomenon. The pore sizes of the formed poly-amide/PAN ENF membranes, ranging from 0.13 to 4.88 pm, can be controlled by the number of reaction cycles. Abstract

Electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection design for mixed-voltage I/O interfaces has been one of the key challenges of system-on-a-chip (SOC) implementation in nano-scale CMOS processes. The on-chip ESD protection circuit for mixed-voltage I/O interfaces should meet the gate-oxide reliability constraints and prevent the undesired leakage current paths. This paper presents an overview on the design concept and circuit implementations of the ESD protection designs for mixed-voltage I/O interfaces without using the additional thick gate-oxide process. The ESD design constraints in mixed-voltage I/O interfaces, the classification and analysis of ESD protection designs for mixed-voltage I/O interfaces, and the designs of high-voltage-tolerant power-rail ESD clamp circuit are presented and discussed. Abstract

A new electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection design, by using the substrate-triggered stacked-nMOS device, is proposed to protect the mixed-voltage I/O circuits of CMOS ICs. The substrate-triggered technique is applied to lower the trigger voltage of the stacked-nMOS device to ensure effective ESD protection for the mixed-voltage I/O circuits. The proposed ESD protection circuit with the substrate-triggered technique is fully compatible to general CMOS process without causing the gate-oxide reliability problem. Without using the thick gate oxide, the new proposed design has been fabricated and verified for 2.5/3.3-V tolerant mixed-voltage I/O circuit in a 0.25μm salicided CMOS process. The experimental results have confirmed that the human-body-model ESD level of the mixed-voltage I/O buffers can be successfully improved from the original 3.4 to 5.6 kV by using this new proposed ESD protection circuit [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

ABSTRACTAlpha-galactosyl ceramide (α-GalCer) has been known to bind to the CD1d receptor on dendritic cells and activate invariant natural killer T (iNKT) cells, which subsequently secrete T-helper-cell 1 (Th1) and Th2 cytokines, which correlate with anti-infection activity and the prevention of autoimmune diseases, respectively. α-GalCer elicits the secretion of these two cytokines nonselectively, and thus, its effectiveness is limited by the opposing effects of the Th1 and Th2 cytokines. Reported here is the synthesis of a new α-GalCer analog (compound C34), based on the structure of CD1d, with a 4-(4-fluorophenoxy) phenyl undecanoyl modification of the N-acyl moiety of α-GalCer. Using several murine bacterial and viral infection models, we demonstrated that C34 has superior antibacterial and antiviral activities in comparison with those of several other Th1-selective glycolipids and that it is most effective by administering it to mice in a prophylactic manner before or shortly after infection.

Abstract

Title: Analysis of the financing difficulties of Taiwan's small-and medium-sized Energy Services CompanyAbstract:International Energy Agency indicates that enhance energy efficiency is the most important and concrete part to meet the Sustainable Development Scenario achieve limiting global temperature rise to 1.5 °C in these decades. Taiwan government follows up the global trend and mentions the importance of high energy efficiency on energy policy. In recent years, Taiwan has actively achieved its goal of reducing electricity demand through energy conservation strategies or the replacement of electrical equipment.Energy Services Company(ESCO) provides energy-saving consulting, energy system design and improvement projects to improve energy efficiency and ease the urgency of Taiwan's peak electricity use from the energy demand side.ESCO, which emphasizes energy-saving performance, its production value has a stable rise in the existing business model in Taiwan, and it is expected to explore the abundant potential in the future. For ESCO, although the profit is a long-term stable benefit, the cost of initial investment in energy-saving is a big problem for small-and medium-sized company. The performance guarantee contract between the operator and the customer is based on "shared saving contract", the operator needs to implement energy saving projects with their own funds or the bank loan. For small-and medium-sized ESCOs, the scale of the ESCO project must be expanded through financing, but the number of applications is low because of high-interest rate costs and the banks have low willingness to give the loan.This study will use the factors for loan theory of financing and use Analytic Hierarchy Process as a research method to understand the prioritization of these factors by experts in various fields (ESCO, energy users, banks).
