In this work, we present Semantic Gesticulator, a novel framework designed to synthesize realistic gestures accompanying speech with strong semantic correspondence. Semantically meaningful gestures are crucial for effective non-verbal communication, but such gestures often fall within the long tail of the distribution of natural human motion. The sparsity of these movements makes it challenging for deep learning-based systems, trained on moderately sized datasets, to capture the relationship between the movements and the corresponding speech semantics. To address this challenge, we develop a generative retrieval framework based on a large language model. This framework efficiently retrieves suitable semantic gesture candidates from a motion library in response to the input speech. To construct this motion library, we summarize a comprehensive list of commonly used semantic gestures based on findings in linguistics, and we collect a high-quality motion dataset encompassing both body and hand movements. We also design a novel GPT-based model with strong generalization capabilities to audio, capable of generating high-quality gestures that match the rhythm of speech. Furthermore, we propose a semantic alignment mechanism to efficiently align the retrieved semantic gestures with the GPT's output, ensuring the naturalness of the final animation. Our system demonstrates robustness in generating gestures that are rhythmically coherent and semantically explicit, as evidenced by a comprehensive collection of examples. With the rapid development of underwater communication, sensing, automation, robot technologies, autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) swarms are gradually becoming popular and have been widely promoted in ocean exploration and underwater tracking or surveillance, etc. However, the complex underwater environment poses significant challenges for AUV swarm-based accurate tracking for the underwater moving targets. In this paper, we aim at proposing a multi-AUV cooperative underwater multi-target tracking algorithm especially when the real underwater factors are taken into account.We first give normally modelling approach for the underwater sonar-based detection and the ocean current interference on the target tracking process.Then, we regard the AUV swarm as a underwater ad-hoc network and propose a novel Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning (MARL) architecture towards the AUV swarm based on Software-Defined Networking (SDN).It enhances the flexibility and scalability of the AUV swarm through centralized management and distributed operations.Based on the proposed MARL architecture, we propose the "dynamic-attention switching" and "dynamic-resampling switching" mechanisms, to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of AUV swarm cooperation during task execution.Finally, based on a proposed AUV classification method, we propose an efficient cooperative tracking algorithm called ASMA.Evaluation results demonstrate that our proposed tracking algorithm can perform precise underwater multi-target tracking, comparing with many of recent research products in terms of convergence speed and tracking accuracy.

Recent text-to-image diffusion models are able to learn and synthesize images containing novel, personalized concepts (e.g., their own pets or specific items) with just a few examples for training. This paper tackles two interconnected issues within this realm of personalizing text-to-image diffusion models. First, current personalization techniques fail to reliably extend to multiple concepts -- we hypothesize this to be due to the mismatch between complex scenes and simple text descriptions in the pre-training dataset (e.g., LAION). Second, given an image containing multiple personalized concepts, there lacks a holistic metric that evaluates performance on not just the degree of resemblance of personalized concepts, but also whether all concepts are present in the image and whether the image accurately reflects the overall text description. To address these issues, we introduce Gen4Gen, a semi-automated dataset creation pipeline utilizing generative models to combine personalized concepts into complex compositions along with text-descriptions. Using this, we create a dataset called MyCanvas, that can be used to benchmark the task of multi-concept personalization. In addition, we design a comprehensive metric comprising two scores (CP-CLIP and TI-CLIP) for better quantifying the performance of multi-concept, personalized text-to-image diffusion methods. We provide a simple baseline built on top of Custom Diffusion with empirical prompting strategies for future researchers to evaluate on MyCanvas. We show that by improving data quality and prompting strategies, we can significantly increase multi-concept personalized image generation quality, without requiring any modifications to model architecture or training algorithms., Comment: Preprint; Project Page: https://danielchyeh.github.io/Gen4Gen/

PointGoal navigation in indoor environment is a fundamental task for personal robots to navigate to a specified point. Recent studies solved this PointGoal navigation task with near-perfect success rate in photo-realistically simulated environments, under the assumptions with noiseless actuation and most importantly, perfect localization with GPS and compass sensors. However, accurate GPS signalis difficult to be obtained in real indoor environment. To improve the PointGoal navigation accuracy without GPS signal, we use visual odometry (VO) and propose a novel action integration module (AIM) trained in unsupervised manner. Sepecifically, unsupervised VO computes the relative pose of the agent from the re-projection error of two adjacent frames, and then replaces the accurate GPS signal with the path integration. The pseudo position estimated by VO is used to train action integration which assists agent to update their internal perception of location and helps improve the success rate of navigation. The training and inference process only use RGB, depth, collision as well as self-action information. The experiments show that the proposed system achieves satisfactory results and outperforms the partially supervised learning algorithms on the popular Gibson dataset., Comment: 12 pages, 6 figures
