This study examines the moderating roles of demographic divides, such as gender, income, and education, on factors influencing mobile payment adoption among urbanites in Malaysia. An online survey questionnaire was used for data collection, which yielded 428 responses. PLS-SEM was employed to assess validity, reliability, hypothesis testing, and PLS-MGA of the study constructs. The findings of this paper revealed that perceived security, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and trust were significantly related to mobile payment adoption. Gender, income, and education were found to moderate the results. This research provides important information to service providers, banking institutions, and the government to understand factors influencing mobile payment adoption and consider demographic characteristics of gender, income, and education in mobile payment adoption. This study explains the moderating effects of demographic divides on mobile payment adoption among urbanites that are rarely addressed in Malaysia.

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between pay and benefits, work environment, top management leadership, workload and job satisfaction among academic staffs in a private academic institution in Malaysia. Motivation-Hygiene Theory, Maslow’s Needs Hierarchy theory and Leader-Member Exchange (LMX) theory were used to establishthe theoretical framework of this study. Questionnaire survey method was employed to collect data which yielded 82 responses in this study. Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) was used to perform data analysis throughout the study. All study variables were found to have significant positive relationships with job satisfaction among academic staffs inthe selected institution. Top management leadership was discovered to have the most significant relationship with job satisfaction. The findings of this research provide a clear message to the top management that leadership plays an important role in enhancing job satisfaction of the academic staffs.Hence, it is suggested that the institution management should adopt appropriate leadership style and establish effective strategies and policies that aim to increase job satisfaction and performance of the academic staffs.

This study intends to explore the relationship between goal orientation, information literacy self-efficacy and lifelong learning outcomes of the adult learners. This study focuses on adult learners as they are actively participating in the development of the country socio-economy and recognized as the potential contributors towards the generation of knowledge-based economy. The findings of this study revealed that there was a significant relationship between mastery goal orientation and lifelong learning. However, information literacy self-efficacy was found to be a predictor instead of a moderator in the model. It is suggested that suitable and appropriate learning methods such as problem-based learning, case scenario presentations, portfolios and clinical debates can be designed specifically to facilitate adult learners’ mastery goal learning motivation in promoting lifelong learning. In addition, training and retraining to equip adult learners with new information literacy skills so as to keep up their self-efficacy level will definitely enhance lifelong learning. This study provides a database on the impact of goal orientation and information literacy self-efficacy towards lifelong learning in implementing policy formation, educational structure redesign and human capital development. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between Human Resource Management (HRM) practices and job performance in the courier service industry. Data was collected through questionnaire from 100 employees of a courier service company in Johor, Malaysia. The results of the multiple regression analysis showed that employment security and training and development were significantly related to job performance. The findings suggested that employment security is the most important factor that positively influences job performance followed by training and development. Compensation and benefits and performance management were found to be not significant in predicting job performance. In relation to these findings, human resource department shall put effort to create a climate of confidence on the company’s work force so that employees will feel more secured and design suitable training programs that lead to the acquisition of new knowledge and skills for personal growth and enhancing job performance.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the importance of job satisfaction in the higher learning institutions in Malaysia and identify the factors that influence job satisfaction. This study used Herzberg Two-factor Theory to determine how relevant hygiene and motivator factors are related to job satisfaction among the Malaysian faculty members. Among the factors identified are company policy, supervision, work condition, salary, recognition, the work itself, growth and achievement. This study also provides theoretical implications to guide future research and offers practical implications to the management in the development of job satisfaction among faculty members. Given that employee job satisfaction is vital and important to the high learning institution, factors influencing job satisfaction need to be given extra attention so that high quality of education and positive student’s learning outcomes can be sustained and achieved successfully.

The purpose of this paper is to share the importance of job satisfaction and factors that contribute to job satisfaction. It is recommended in this study that work-life balance, job training, compensation system and superior-subordinate relationship are important factors that influence job satisfaction. This study also provides theoretical and practical implications to guide future research and industry practitioners in the aspect of job satisfaction.This study serves as a guideline to boost employee overall performance as saying goes:"a satisfied and happy worker is a productive worker”.

The intention of this paper is to review the determinants of innovative performance and to explain the implications of the determinants towards the firms in the manufacturing industry in Malaysia. This paper also illustrates the importance of innovative performance in the manufacturing firms in Malaysia. It is suggested in this study that several industry characteristics and firm characteristics are the determinants that affect innovative performance in a firm in the manufacturing industry. Given that a firm’s innovative performance is able to increase its revenue generated, determinants affecting innovative performance in a firm should be given equal priority like quality and productivity to ensure continuous revenue generation and sustainability of the firm.

Teachers are usually eager to implement what they learned during their training program. However, when they are in schools and face unexpected situations such as classroom conditions, state mandated programs, new educational conditions, goals, and reforms,they may feel that they have made a mistake choosing the teaching profession as their career. These challenges may lead to decreasing job satisfaction. In addition, a lack of professionalism, collegiality, and administrative support are among the reasons teachers leave their chosen career, even if they are really interested in the profession. The educational system in Malaysia is controlled by the government, in terms of the teacher placement system; student teachers who completed their training have limited choices for placement in schools. The theoretical framework in this study used Theory of Herzberg’s Two-Factor to guide there search. These theories are used to explain the phenomenon of new teachers leaving the career during their probationary period. This study intends to explore and understand the challenges and experiences new teachers faced in schools after completion of their training.

The intention of this paper is to address the existent problem of patient safety in the healthcare sector by using Lewin’s model to suggest ways to spearhead organisational change in this area due to its worldwide importance.Lewin’s force field analysis was used to identify driving and retraining forces to move the practice of bed shift report (BSR) from its equilibrium state to the desired goals. Three-stage model was employed to initiate change efforts directed towards attaining improved clinical outcomes for patients and providing them with optimal safety and care both during and after treatment.Effective BSR interventions and strategies were recommended to provide sufficient scope for the management to modify their work policies and practices in accordance with any latest developments taking place in the field of healthcare in general, and nursing practices in particular.

The purpose of this paper is to provide a conceptual analysis of organizational culture and safety performance in the manufacturing companies in Malaysia. Our conceptual analysis suggests that manufacturing companies that adopt group culture or hierarchical culture are more likely to demonstrate safety compliance and safety participation. Manufacturing companies that adopt rational culture or developmental culture are less likely to demonstrate safety compliance and safety participation. Given that organizational culture has become an important topic in enhancing safety performance, this paper provides prepositions that will guide future research and offers suggestions to manufacturing managers to improve their company safety performance.
