Construction and demolition waste (C&DW) recycling products have drawn worldwide attention over the past few decades. There is a general agreement among researchers that C&DW recycling is an important means for curbing the deterioration of the environment. Previous papers mainly focused on the decision-making behavior of dual stakeholders or tripartite stakeholders, as well as the lack of cooperation among multiple stakeholders. This study explored a dynamic evolutionary game model with three different parameter conditions to research the decision-making behaviors and stable strategies of the multi-stakeholders involved in the C&DW recycling product industry, including government departments and some enterprises. This research also investigated how the government’s supervision costs, penalties applied to enterprises, and resource taxes affect the dynamic evolution process of C&DW recycling. This research conducted numerical simulations using Python to analyze stakeholders’ behavioral evolutionarily stable strategy (ESS) and the sensitivity to main factors in each stage of the C&DW recycling process to accelerate the development of construction waste resource utilization. Based on the results of the evolutionary game, this paper proposed that the roles of multi-stakeholders are different at different stages of industry development, and that supervision costs, penalties, and resource tax have their own impacts on the C&DW recycling product industry. The paper suggests a range of discussions and simulation studies to highlight the significance of the government’s refined and moderate adjustments to the regulatory incentive system and the level of government regulation and involvement at different stages of the process. These adjustments are aimed at promoting the sustainable recycling and utilization of construction and demolition waste (C&DW) products within some countries’ construction industry.

Lutein possesses various physiological activities but is susceptible to light degradation, thermal degradation, and oxidative degradation. As such, protecting the activity of lutein-based products using natural extracts has become a current research. In this study, lutein was protected by complexing inulin-type fructan (ITF), soybean protein isolate (SPI), and epicatechin (EC), and the protection mechanism of epicatechin-fructan glycosylated soybean protein isolate (EC-GSPI) toward lutein was elucidated comprehensively. The results showed that the addition of EC delayed the degradation of lutein. The results of light stability experiments showed that increased EC significantly enhanced the storage time of the GSPI-Lutein system from 4 to 13 days. Additionally, the effect of EC on glycosylated soybean 7S globulin (G7S) and glycosylated soybean 11S globulin (G11S) was assessed. The light stability of G11S-Lutein and G7S-Lutein after the addition of EC was from G11S > G7S → G7S > G11S. Furthermore, the proteins purified from SPI interacted differently with EC and ITF, with soybean 7S globulin (7S) mainly interacting with EC and soybean 11S globulin (11S) mainly interacting with ITF. EC-GSPI-Lutein exhibited a good protective effect, probably due to the occurrence of hygrothermal Maillard between ITF and 11S, providing a porous structure for lutein storage. At the same time, the binding of EC to 7S significantly enhanced the antioxidant property of the solution and the stability of the protein secondary structure, thereby prolonging the storage time of lutein.

To improve the adverse effects of corn starch on the color presentation of paprika red in prepared meat products, the characteristics of the effects of different concentrations of corn starch, pectin and paprika red on the color of the system were studied. The uniform design was used to optimize the concentration of the three components, and the partial least squares quadratic polynomial was used for data regression analysis. The predictive model was established that taking concentration of corn starch, pectin and paprika red as independent variables, L*, a*, b*, h, ΔE and the scattering rate as dependent variable. Results showed that, the prediction model had high accuracy, the ratio of corn starch, pectin and paprika red at best color of system, was the combination of various factors: Corn starch concentration 5.37%, pectin concentration 2.90%, paprika concentration 0.27%. At this time, the total color difference and scattering rate were: L* 49.6024, a* 39.7159, b* 40.0236, h 44.6671, ΔE 10.3461, scattering rate 0.2063. The optimal color conditions were verified to be effective in improving the color of corn starch-paprika red system in prepared meat products. In this paper, the ratio of corn starch, pectin and paprika red at best color of system obtained by the prediction model could effectively improve the color of corn starch-paprika red system.

Groundwater evapotranspiration (ETg) is the most important dischargeway of shallow groundwater in arid and semi-arid areas, and also is a significant component of the water budget in groundwater systems. When groundwater levelsare interfered with barometric effect, the traditional water table fluctuation method for estimation of the ETg rate cannot be directly employed.This paper proposes a hydrographical method for removing the barometric effect on the ETg rateestimation using water-table fluctuations based on the changes ingroundwater levels and barometric pressure.The results illustrate that thechangesin barometric pressure usually reach the peak before midnight, generally between 22:00 and 24:00 when the barometric effect can be ignored, and the evapotranspiration rate is the minimum and therefore thegroundwater level changes rate at this time interval is equivalent to the net recharge rate. Furthermore, the second time period between 0:00 and 4:00 when the ETg rate is negligible and the barometric pressure is generally in a continuous decline, is then selected to estimate the barometric efficiency. On the basis of these analyses, the ETg rate can be readily estimated by the groundwater level balance method and the water table fluctuation method. The data required in theproposed methodare easy to obtain and the estimated ETg ratesare relatively accurate.

Sphingolipids are constituents of cellular membranes and play important roles in cells. As nutraceutical compounds in foods, sphingolipids have been proven to be critical for human health. Therefore, the sphingolipids content of capsanthin was established based on ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with electrospray ionization-quadrupole–time-of-flight mass spectrometry. A total number of 40 sphingolipids were successfully identified, including 20 Glucosylceramides and 20 Ceramides. The predominant GlcCers contain 4-hydroxy-8-sphingenine t18:1 (8) with different structures of α-OH fatty acids. For the Cers, the main long-chain bases are 4-hydroxy-8-sphingenine t18:1 (8) and 4-hydroxysphingenine (t18:0) with different structures of α-OH or α, β-di (OH) fatty acids.

Obtaining canopy area, crown width, position, and other information from UAV aerial images and adjusting spray parameters in real-time according to this information is an important way to achieve precise pesticide application in orchards. However, the natural illumination environment in the orchard makes extracting the fruit tree canopy difficult. Hereto, an effective unsupervised image segmentation method is developed in this paper for fast fruit tree canopy acquisition from UAV images under natural illumination conditions. Firstly, the image is preprocessed using the shadow region luminance compensation method (SRLCM) that is proposed in this paper to reduce the interference of shadow areas. Then, use Naive Bayes to obtain multiple high-quality color features from 10 color models was combined with ensemble clustering to complete image segmentation. The segmentation experiments were performed on the collected apple tree images. The results show that the proposed method’s average precision rate, recall rate, and F1-score are 95.30%, 84.45%, and 89.53%, respectively, and the segmentation quality is significantly better than ordinary K-means and GMM algorithms.

With the explosive growth of cloud computing applications, the east-west traffic among servers has come to occupy the dominant proportion of the traffic in data center networks (DCNs). Cloud computing tasks need to be executed in a distributed manner on multiple servers, which exchange large amounts of intermediate data between the adjacent stages of each multi-stage task. Therefore, the congestion in DCNs can reduce the processing performance when conducting multi-stage tasks. To address this, the relationship between the blocking performance and the traffic load can be adopted as a theoretical basis for network planning and traffic engineering. In this paper, the traffic load correlation between edge links and aggregation links is considered, and an iterative blocking performance analysis method is proposed for two-layer tree-type DCNs. The simulation results show the good accuracy of the proposed method with respect to the theoretical results especially in the blocking rate range below 4% and with over-subscription ratio 1.5.

The accurate setting of input parameters in the numerical simulation of downwash airflow from a UAV sprayer is important for acceptable simulation results. To provide real data of simulation parameters (rotor speed and pitch angle) for the numerical simulation of downwash airflow, a wireless simulation parameter measurement system (WSPM-System) was designed and tested in this study. The system consists of hardware and software designed based on Arduino and LabVIEW, respectively. Wireless communication was realized by nRF24L01. The lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) was applied for the numerical simulation of downwash airflow. The results showed that the valid communication distance of the WSPM-System was 100 m, with a packet loss rate of less than 1%. While hovering, the rotor speed dropped by about 30% when the load of the UAV sprayer changed from 16 kg to 4 kg, which resulted in the maximum vertical downward velocity (VVD) on the horizontal detection surface dropping by about 23%. Under forward flight, the rotor speed in the front (n1, n6) and rear (n3, n4) of the UAV sprayer, respectively, showed a negative linear correlation and positive linear correlation with flight speed (R2 > 0.95). Meanwhile, the rotor speed in the middle (n2, n5) was consistent with the rotor speed while hovering under the same load; the pitch angle showed a positive linear correlation with flight speed (R2 > 0.94). A correlation analysis of measured and simulated values of the VVD revealed that the numerical simulation of downwash airflow with the parameters provided by the WSPM-System was reliable (R2 = 0.91). This study confirmed that the input value of the rotor speed in the fluid software needed to be determined according to the application parameters of the UAV sprayer, thus providing a feasible method and system for obtaining real simulation parameters.

Highly effective pesticide applications require a continual adjustment of the pesticide spray flow rate that attends to different canopy characterizations. Real-time image processing with rapid target detection and data-processing technologies is vital for precision pesticide application. However, the extant studies do not provide an efficient and reliable method of extracting individual trees with irregular tree-crown shapes and complicated backgrounds. This paper on our study proposes a Mahalanobis distance and conditional random field (CRF)-based segmentation model to extract cherry trees accurately in a natural orchard environment. This study computed Mahalanobis distance from the image’s color, brightness and location features to acquire an initial classification of the canopy and background. A CRF was then created by using the Mahalanobis distance calculations as unary potential energy and the Gaussian kernel function based on the image color and pixels distance as binary potential energy. Finally, the study completed image segmentation using mean-field approximation. The results show that the proposed method displays a higher accuracy rate than the traditional algorithms K-means and GrabCut algorithms and lower labeling and training costs than the deep learning algorithm DeepLabv3+, with 92.1%, 94.5% and 93.3% of the average P, R and F1-score, respectively. Moreover, experiments on datasets with different overlap conditions and image acquisition times, as well as in different years and seasons, show that this method performs well under complex background conditions, with an average F1-score higher than 87.7%.

Electrochemical discharge machining (ECDM) is an emerging special processing technology for non-conductive hard and brittle materials, but it may encounter the problem of tool wear due to its process characteristics, which affects the processing accuracy. In this study, in the non-machining state, the tungsten carbide spiral cathode with a diameter of 400 μm was selected to analyze the influencing mechanism of the process parameters on tool wear, and a suitable voltage range for the processing was obtained. The influence of the cathode’s loss behavior on the film formation time and the average current of spark discharge was discussed based on the current signal. The results show that the tool wear mainly appears from the bottom to the end and edge tip of the protrusion. Loss is mainly in the form of local material melting or gasification at high temperature. In addition, the loss may shorten the film formation time, but the effect on the average current of spark discharge is small.

Various pathologic conditions result in jaundice, a yellowing of the skin due to a buildup of bilirubin. Patients with jaundice commonly report experiencing an intense non-histaminergic itch. Despite this association, the pruritogenic capacity of bilirubin itself has not been described, and no bilirubin receptor has been identified. Here, we demonstrate that pathophysiologic levels of bilirubin excite peripheral itch sensory neurons and elicit pruritus through MRGPRs, a family of G-protein coupled receptors expressed in primary sensory neurons. Bilirubin binds and activates two MRGPRs, mouse MRGPRA1 and human MRGPRX4. In two mouse models of pathologic hyperbilirubinemia, we show that genetic deletion of either Mrgpra1 or Blvra, the gene that encodes the bilirubin-producing enzyme biliverdin reductase, attenuates itch. Similarly, plasma isolated from hyperbilirubinemic patients evoked itch in wild-type animals but not Mrgpra1-/- animals. Removing bilirubin decreased the pruritogenic capacity of patient plasma. Based on these data, targeting MRGPRs is a promising strategy for alleviating jaundice-associated itch.

Electron beam irradiation (EBI) has high energy, no induced radioactivity, and strong degradation capacity toward mycotoxins, such as zearalenone (ZEN) and ochratoxin A (OTA). In this study, we determined EBI’s influence on the physical and chemical properties of corn contaminated with ZEN and OTA. Moreover, the toxicity of corn after EBI was assessed through a mouse experiment. Amylose content and starch crystallinity in corn decreased significantly (p < 0.05) at an irradiation dose higher than 20 kGy. Scanning electron microscopy results revealed that the starch particles of corn began to be crushed at 10 kGy. Essential and total amino acid contents in corn decreased significantly with increasing irradiation dose of EBI (p < 0.05). Feeding EBI-treated corn fodders to mice could significantly improve blood biochemical indexes. The EBI-treated group was not significantly different from the normal corn group and did not display histopathological changes of the liver. EBI treatment can influence the quality of corn to some extent and effectively lower the toxicity of ZEN and OTA in contaminated corn. The results provide a theoretical and practical basis for the processing of EBI-treated corn and its safety.

To minimize pesticide dosage and its adverse environmental impact, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) spraying requires precise individual canopy information. Branches from neighboring trees may overlap, preventing image-based artificial intelligence analysis from correctly identifying individual trees. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a segmentation and evaluation method for mingled fruit tree canopies with irregular shapes. To extract the individual trees from mingled canopies, the study fitted the projection curve distribution of the interlacing tree with Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) and solved the matter of segmentation by estimating the GMM parameters. For the intermingling degree assessment, the Gaussian parameters were used to quantify the characteristics of the mingled fruit trees and then as the input for Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) model training. The proposed method was tested on the aerial images of cherry and apple trees. Results of the experiments show that the proposed method can not only accurately identify individual trees, but also estimate the intermingledness of the interlacing canopies. The root mean squares (R) of the over-segmentation rate (Ro) and under-segmentation rate (Ru) for individual trees counting were less than 10%. Moreover, the Intersection over Union (IoU), used to evaluate the integrity of a single canopy area, was greater than 88%. An 84.3% Accuracy (ACC) with a standard deviation of 1.2% was achieved by the assessment model. This method will supply more accurate data of individual canopy for spray volume assessments or other precision-based applications in orchards.

Fragile X syndrome (FXS) is an inheritable neuropsychological disease caused by silence of the fmr1 gene and the deficiency of Fragile X mental retardation protein (FMRP). Patients present neuronal alterations that lead to severe intellectual disability and altered sleep rhythms. However, the neural circuit mechanisms underlying FXS remain unclear. Previous studies have suggested that metabolic glutamate and gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptors/circuits are two counter-balanced factors involved in FXS pathophysiology. More and more studies demonstrated that attenuated GABAergic circuits in the absence of FMRP are critical for abnormal progression of FXS. Here, we reviewed the changes of GABA neural circuits that were attributed to intellectual-deficient FXS, from several aspects including deregulated GABA metabolism, decreased expressions of GABA receptor subunits, and impaired GABAergic neural circuits. Furthermore, the activities of GABA neural circuits are modulated by circadian rhythm of FMRP metabolism and reviewed the abnormal condition of FXS mice or patients.

Herbicide deposition rate can be affected by the leaf surface features of weeds and have a significant impact on the overall efficacy. In this paper, an orthogonal experiment was conducted to investigate the differences of droplet evaporation and spreading characteristics corresponding to weed leaf surface with hairy, waxy and rough (ridged) structures. Three weed species—Descurainia sophia, Lepidium lotifolium, and Lolium temulentum—were included in the study, representing these three leaf structures respectively. Glyphosate sprays with organic silicone surfactant in different concentrations were composed for the test. Single droplets with two diameters of 0.05 μL and 0.1 μL were deposited on the leaves to evaluate the evaporation and spreading characteristics. A digital camera was used and the evaporation duration and the maximum droplet coverage images could be captured and extracted from the recorded videos. The Image Processing Toolbox in Matlab was applied to segment the images for droplet and leaf background and the binary images’ pixel numbers were counted for coverage area calculation. The results revealed that the evaporation duration was reduced with the increase of the organic silicone concentration, while the spread area was expanded. The droplet spread more widely and evaporated faster on D. sophia leaves than on the leaves with L. lotifolium and L. temulentum surfaces. The spreading area and evaporation duration varied much faster on L. lotifolium leaves than on the leaves of other weed species. The droplet sizes affected spreading more significantly on L. temulentum leaf surface, as the spreading procedure of small size droplets was restrained by the groove structure. The results of this study would benefit the consideration of the farmers when selecting the proper nozzle code and the determining of the surfactant mixture in order to optimize the use of herbicides like glyphosate.

Accurate measurement of the downwash flow field of plant protection unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is essential for analyzing the spatial distribution of droplets. To realize on-line rapid detection of the downwash flow field of a multi-rotor UAV, a flexible polypropylene detection device based on the principle of full bridge strain effect was proposed. Its performance principle was based on the physical deformation caused by wind pressure. The Fluid Flow and Static Structural modules of ANSYS 16.0 finite element software were used to simulate one-way fluid-solid coupling interaction. The surface of the resistive strain gauge embedded in the flexible detecting structure responded well to wind speed variation, hence it was suitable for downwash airflow wind field detection. By solving the strain force on the surface of the flexible detection structure, the length and layout of the grating wire of the strain gauge on the surface of the flexible detection structure were optimized. Meanwhile at 4 m·s−1 wind speed, the output voltage at varied bridge flexible acquisition systems in the acquisition card was measured. Results indicated coefficient of variation of 3.67%, 1.63% and 1.5%, respectively, which proved the good data acquisition consistency of the system. Through calibration test, the regression equation for the relationship between output voltage and wind speed for three unique sensor signal measuring circuits was established. The determination coefficients R2 for single bridge, half bridge and full bridge circuits were 0.9885, 0.9866 and 0.9959, respectively. In conclusion, by applying the multi-rotor plant protection UAV test platform, the results indicated the maximum relative error of the wind speed at each sampling point of the system at 1.0 m altitude was below 5.61%. Simulated and measured value had an RMSE maximum error of 0.1246 m·s−1. Moreover, downwash airflow detection not only has high accuracy but also has high sensitivity. Thus, there is convenience and practicability in the plant protection offered by this approach. The rapid measurement of UAV wind field and the established two-dimensional wind field model can provide a basis for precise application of agricultural aviation.

Zearalenone (ZEN) and ochratoxin A (OTA) are secondary toxic metabolites widely present in grains and grain products. In this study, the effects of electron beam irradiation (EBI) on ZEN and OTA in corn and the quality of irradiated corn were investigated. Results indicated that EBI significantly affected ZEN and OTA. The degradation rates of ZEN and OTA at 10 kGy in solution were 65.6% and 75.2%, respectively. The initial amounts significantly affected the degradation rate. ZEN and OTA in corn were decreased by the irradiation dose, and their degradation rates at 50 kGy were 71.1% and 67.9%, respectively. ZEN and OTA were more easily degraded in corn kernel than in corn flour. Moisture content (MC) played a vital role in ZEN and OTA degradation. High MC was attributed to high ZEN and OTA degradation. The quality of irradiated corn was evaluated on the basis of irradiation dose. L* value changed, but this change was not significant (p > 0.05). By contrast, a* and b* decreased significantly (p < 0.05) with irradiation dose. The fatty acid value increased significantly. The pasting properties, including peak, trough, breakdown, and final and setback viscosities, were also reduced significantly (p < 0.05) by irradiation. Our study verified that EBI could effectively degrade ZEN and OTA in corn. Irradiation could also affect corn quality.
