This bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of the post-war displacement of Germans from Liberec and its surroundings. In the introduction, the German history of the city is presented. It mainly focuses on the period of the Munich Agreement and the associated incorporation of the city into the German Empire. Furthermore, the work examines the events of the end of the Second World War and the liberation of Liberec by the Red Army. The next part describes the development and change of attitude regarding the issue of expulsion of Germans from Czechoslovakia. After that, the work deals with the process itself and the organization of the transfer of Germans from Liberec. First, the disorganized expulsion that began in Liberec immediately after the end of the war is examined. This phase was often accompanied by violent incidents and organizational difficulties. Then the Potsdam Conference is mentioned, which was perceived as an intermediate link to the preparation of organized transfers. These transfers began in January 1946 and thesis mainly examines their organization and process, which was not always without problems. The topic of this bachelor's thesis is a comparison of three selected North Bohemian housing estates, which are the Březenecká housing estate in Chomutov, the Severní Terasa housing estate in Ústí nad Labem and the Ruprechtice housing estate in Liberec. These housing estates will be compared within three categories: construction and used technology; architecture and aesthetics of the housing estate; and demographic structure of the housing estate. These housing estates were selected according to the principles of comparability. In all three cases, these housing estates are panel buildings, designed in the 1960s and their construction began in 1970 at the latest. All of the housing estates were built in the North Bohemian Region. In addition to the comparison of housing estates, this work also contains a theoretical insight into the history of the construction of panel buildings in Czechoslovakia.

The student will compile a study about Regional research library building in Liberec (Radim Kousal 1995 - 2000). Part of this building is a space with meaning resulting from the synagogue, destroyed by the Nazis. The building will be put into the context of architecture in Liberec in the second half of the 20th century and into the broader environment of contemporary architecture of libraries in the world with the emphasis on new czech libraries. The conceptualization of quality of life in terms of geography is based on two assumptions. The first assumption is that the quality of life consists of two dimensions: subjective and objective. The subjective is known as ‘well-being’, while the objective is the proposed term ‘quality of place’. The second assumption is based on the recognition that quality of life is always a spatial dimension. The concept of quality of life is closely linked with the concept of a good life; geographers enriched this concept by using the term ‘good place’ as a place in which the conditions are created for a good life. The quality of life for individuals in terms of a good place overlaps with the quality of life in society, namely the societal quality of life. The geographical conceptualisation of quality of life is applied to settlements within the city of Liberec.

This bachelor thesis tries to describe the development of the North Bohemian Museum in Liberec (Nordböhmische Gewerbemuseum Reichenberg) since 1873, when the museum was established, to the present. Because the museum is located in a border region, where the nations of Czechs and Germans were mingled, it also tries to show the conditions in the border region and especially in Liberec, and how the Czechs and Germans competed against each other. In my thesis is also focused on the beginning of museums in Czechia and it also mentions about the Czech Náprstek's Industrial Museum, which was a competition and a model of the German Museum in Liberec.

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of the displacement of Germans from the Liberec region. The thesis describes the phases of displacements that took place in the territory of Liberec and what their cause was. The document also mentions the internment camps into which the Germans were moved before the displacement itself. The bachelor thesis also points to the consequence of the displacement of Germans from Liberec in fiction where the displaced situation is viewed from the point of view of displaced Germans. The issue of the Lusatian Serbs is also mentioned.

This thesis deals with the fate of the confiscated monuments nationalized by presidential decrees (no. 12/1945 and No. 108/1945) in 1945 within the Liberec region. The first part analyzes the wider cultural and historical milieu of the region, especially phenomena related to the expulsion of Germans and the issue of postwar confiscation generally. It focuses on the actual effect of the decrees issued by President Benes and also on the process of the establishment of state institutions for administration of confiscated property. The following part of the work is dedicated to the system of national administration of confiscated property of high artistic value (especially objects which belonged to displaced families). This part of the thesis is based primarily on preserved documents of the state organizations operating with the confiscated property after World War II, such as the National Cultural Commission (stemming from the so called Reinsurance Commission), or the State Heritage Institute. From the mid-nineteenth century the North Bohemian industrial area, populated mostly by Germans, experienced an unprecedented urban and demographic growth. The onset of the industrial revolution meant a major breaking point, in particular because the following periods shaped it most notably.The characteristic trait of the cities is a precipitous urban development with building boom. Thereby an impressive scrum of mutually coexisting industrial complexes, palatial villas, spectacular public buildings, generous garden districts and small town housing projects originated, creating the peculiar local genius loci. The border areas have always been a busy crossroads of cultures, histories and ideologies, in which Czechs, Germans and Jews mingled and interacted with each other, and thus they reflect the complex ethnic relations in the territory of today's Czech Republic. The Thesis focuses on the architecture of Czech Germans which formed the natural counterpart to the architecture of the Czech majority. The aim is to set this "second stream" of culture into a wider Central European context and find and define the specifics of the buildings production of Czech Germans. The diploma thesis has three parts: theoretical, analytical and design part. Theoretical part in the literature research summarizes the basic problems of it. - the question of brownfields targetted on conversion of buildings, exhibition designed together with the Landscape Architecture and finally slew vegetation in buildings brownfields. This theoretical part is the basis for understanding the formation of exhibition space from brownfield buildings. On the chosen examples which were realised in the foreign reconstructions is documented the exhibition design approach and highlights global trends in garden and landscape design, that are beneficial and inspiring for future conversion of brownfield facilities. The practical part deals with picking up a brownfield and his description in Liberec and subsequently in the Catherine´s Valley. There was a research in the city for sites that are registered as brownfields and from these areas were divided further according to the location in the city, on brownfield buildings in the central part of the city and objects of brownfields in the suburban zone. From these objects was finally selected a suitable territory for processing the ideal design. Design part consists of garden architectural study of the selected territory of the former Salomon factories in the Catherine Valley, which summarizes the principles of creation of application model with all its compositions and tries to point out one of the many possibilities of conversion of space. The study is addressed at several levels, and its details are developed to the level of project documentation for construction implementation vegetation elements.

This thesis entitled "The History of Sport Aviation in the Liberec Region until 1970" deals with the development of sports aviation in the area of contemporary Liberec region. The thesis focuses on period that ranges from the end of the Second World War until the beginning of normalization period. The thesis includes five major chapters, in which current knowledge about the discussed topic is summarized from the technical and historical point of view.

Title: The importance of nature as a learning environment by mapping forest clubs and forest kindergartens in the Liberec region from from the point of view of educators. Objective: The aim of my thesis is to map forest kindergartens and forest clubs in the Liberec region. Further, by using semi-structured interviews to obtain specific information about the operation and educational activities of the forest kindergartens and clubs in the district. Results: Literature about pre-school pedagogy, alternative ways of education, forest kindergartens gave us insights into the topic. From semi-structured interviews that I conducted with various teachers of forest kindergartens or clubs in the Liberec region, I received necessary information. The functioning of forest kindergartens and forest clubs is different in many ways. Opening hours of kindergartens are about 7:00 to 17:00. Their approach to children is inspired by Waldorf and Montessori pedagogy. The timetable of the day differs, but the materials they use are similar and come from nature. All respondents mentioned that parents cooperate with them. It was evident that all of them have good relationship to nature and see its positive influence on children. Liberec played an important role in czech-german relations since 1918, when the province Deutsch Böhmen was created. Its importance grew even further during World War II as it became the capital of the Liberec sudeten and it was also highly known as the birthplace of Konrad Henlein. In the city, there lived an estimated 80% of the German population at the end of the war, and this fact influenced the course of both liberation and the subsequent expatriatrion actions. Liberation was not expected with enthusiasm at all, as was the case in inland cities. It was rather characterized by confusion, uncertainty and fear of the Soviet Army, which was getting revenge for Germans of war injustice. The liberation meant the end of nearly seven years of German oppression, however, it was not celebrated. Many Germans were leaving the city during the war, including a large part of the Nazi leadership. Conversely, three main groups of people were coming back to the city: the returnees came here from the war, people who moved after the occupation to inland and also people who had nothing to do here and just wanted to start a new life. The main aim of my diploma thesis is to capture the social atmosphere on the pages of periodicals in the Liberec region over the last few months before the secession of the Sudetenland from Czechoslovakia in the Munich Agreement. It was a predominantly German populated region and I wonder how local Czech minority recognize tense period in 1938. For this reason I chose the only Czech written newspapers in Liberec at this period - North-Bohemian Daily. Start of the work is devoted to a brief recapitulation of the historical development of Liberec. And next charter deals with Czech-German relations because this topic is not only a question of the First Republic but it is a coexistence lasting few centuries and we could classify the events of 1938 in the correct context. In the next part I have devoted Nort-Bohemian Daily, its publishers, printers, graphic form, editorial and content characteristics. This is followed by a quantitative content analysis in the last stage of existence of newspapers, ie from January to October 1938. I was interested what topics editorial gave space, who created the texts as they were long and to which columns they were sorted. Main aim of this diploma thesis is business plan for small cafe in Liberec. Cafe will besides classic cafe service provide services for cyclists - who are main target group. Document is divided into two parts. Theoretical part contains information about what is a business plan and its requisites. Actual business plan is presented in second, practical, part.

This bachelors work is composed of theoretical, practical and proposal parts. Theoretical part deals with issue of brownfields regeneration pertaining to the subject of industrial heritage protection. Work describes the world "brownfields", his division and follow his historical evolution which is compared from the perspective of Czech republic and abroad. Based on this comparison, defines methods of evaluation of industrial monuments and ways of approaching its changes. On selected examples of foreign creations refers to the world trends in garden architecture, which are inspiration for future regeneration of brownfields and at the same time evaluate and compare them with czech realizations. Practical part of work deals with issues of brownfields in Liberec region in the city of Liberec. In this city, locations registered as brownfields were retrieved and places with potential of reuse in garden architecture way were selected. Proposal part is a garden architectural study of model area of City slaughterhouse in Liberec, which is trying to show one of many space solutions. This study is based on three themes and is based on respect for existing value of territory and its future value.
