Abstract

Water‐cut control is critical to efficient reservoir development. In this investigation, a host‐guest inclusion polymer gels system with self‐assembly features was constructed stemming from the host‐guest recognition mechanism. Subsequently, the elements affecting polymer viscosity were discussed. Eventually, the injectivity and plugging performance of the host‐guest inclusion system were measured by core displacement tests. The results indicated that the optimum synthesis temperature of the host polymer and guest polymer were 30 °C and 40 °C, separately, and the optimum total monomer content should be 20 wt%. The polymer system had excellent thickening properties and shearing resistance resulting from host‐guest inclusion interaction and physical hydrophobic association. Meanwhile, it had better plugging performance than host polymer or guest polymer alone. This profile control agent system provides a novel method for settling deep profile control in oilfields. Abstract

Introduction: An increasing body of evidence suggests a close association between COVID‐19 infection and the safety of PD‐1/PD‐L1 inhibitor therapy in cancer patients. However, the available data concerning these impacts remain limited and occasionally contradictory. Material and Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of cancer patients who received PD‐1/PD‐L1 inhibitor therapy at the same institution from November 2022 to May 2023. After excluding patients with missing information, a total of 224 cases were included. In our study, immune‐related adverse events (irAEs) that occurred during the hospitalization of patients were included in the analysis. Further analysis of inter‐subgroup differences was conducted following a 1:2 propensity score matching. Statistical analyses were performed using the Fisher's exact, chi‐squared, and Mann–Whitney U‐tests. Result: The results showed that no statistically significant differences between the two subgroups in the incidence of irAEs, changes in immune function before and after using PD‐1/PD‐L1 inhibitors, and alterations in hepatic and renal function (p > 0.05). Conclusion: Our findings suggest that infection with COVID‐19 does not significantly impact the safety of PD‐1/PD‐L1 inhibitors in cancer patients. Most cancer patients used PD‐1/PD‐L1 inhibitors during COVID‐19 infection (asymptomatic or mild infection) did not experience exacerbation of their underlying condition, nor did they exhibit a substantial increase in toxic side effects. Abstract

When surfactant is used as emulsifier, the stability of emulsion is often greatly reduced with the influence of reservoir conditions (temperature, pressure, salinity, etc.), which shortens the validity period of emulsion. Pickering emulsion has a wide range of applications in the oil and gas field due to its advantages of good stability and easy regulation. In this article, the formation, stabilization mechanism, and influencing factors of Pickering emulsions were introduced, and the application status and prospects of Pickering emulsions in oil and gas field were summarized. It was pointed out that Pickering emulsion has many advantages and important research value when applied in deep strata and complicated reservoirs. It is expected that this article can effectively reflect the application value of Pickering emulsion in oil and gas field and promote the application of Pickering emulsion in petroleum industry.

40. Preparation and Oil Displacement Performance Evaluation of Amphiphilic Janus Molybdenum Disulfide Nanosheets

Abstract

Nanofluid flooding, as a new type of oil displacement technology in low permeability reservoirs, has attracted more and more attention due to its advantages of good injection, low reservoir damage, strong oil displacement ability, and intelligent response. Compared with spherical nanoparticles, Janus sheet nanomaterials have lower interfacial free energy and more limited rotation, can further prevent the diffusion of internal and external phase molecules, and form solid particle films with higher interfacial strength, showing excellent oil displacement performance. Janus nanosheets have a large specific surface area and abundant surface chemical groups, which have great application potential in enhancing oil recovery. Because of its sheet structure and unique physicochemical properties, molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) has attracted wide attention in enhancing oil recovery, but there is relatively little research on the Janus modification of MoS2nanosheets. In this article, amphiphilic Janus molybdenum disulfide nanosheets (JSMS) were prepared by a one-pot method, and their microstructure and physicochemical properties were characterized and analyzed. Finally, through a core flooding experiment and microscopic displacement test, the ability and mechanism of JSMS nanofluids to enhance oil recovery were evaluated. The results showed that the JSMS had excellent interface properties because of its Janus structure. It can produce a strong, elastic interfacial film. At the same time, the JSMS nanofluid can realize wetting reversal of rock surfaces. The results of the core flooding experiments showed that JSMS had a good oil displacement effect. The JSMS nanofluid enhanced oil recovery effectively by 4.7% with low concentration (0.005 wt %). This work demonstrated the feasibility of the Janus MoS2for enhanced oil recovery.
