Accurately assessing and predicting the impacts of land use changes on ecosystem carbon stocks in the Yellow River Basin (YRB) and exploring the optimization of land use structure to increase ecosystem carbon stocks are of great practical significance for China to achieve the goal of "double carbon". In this study, we used multi-year remote sensing data, meteorological data and statistical data to measure the ecosystem carbon stock in the YRB from 2000 to 2020 based on the InVEST model, and then simulated and measured the ecosystem carbon stock under four different land use scenarios coupled with the FLUS model in 2030. The results show that, from 2000 to 2020, urban expansion in the YRB continued, but woodland and grassland grew more slowly. Carbon stock showed an increasing trend during the first 20 years, with an overall increase of 7.2 megatons, or 0.23%. Simulating the four land use scenarios in 2030, carbon stock will decrease the most under the cropland protection scenario, with a decrease of 17.7 megatons compared with 2020. However, carbon stock increases the most under the ecological protection scenario, with a maximum increase of 9.1 megatons. Furthermore, distinct trends in carbon storage were observed across different regions, with significant increases in the upstream under the natural development scenario, in the midstream under the ecological protection scenario and in the downstream under the cropland protection scenario. We suggest that the upstream should maintain the existing development mode, with ecological protection prioritized in the middle reaches and farmland protection prioritized in the lower reaches. Popular science tourism is a new tourism mode and geopark scenic area is an important carrier of popular science tourism. It is the premise and foundation for the popular science tourism development of geoparks to establish a scientific evaluation index system and evaluation model. On the basis of analyzing relevant evaluation models, this paper explored the evaluation system and model of geopark popular science tourism in following steps. First, establish the index system. Based on the theory method, frequency method and expert consultation method, this paper established the popular science tourism evaluation index system of geopark scenic area. The evaluation index system includes 3 primary indexes, 8 secondary indexes and 30 tertiary indexes. Second, define index weight and scoring standards. Index weights were defined using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), the measuring method of each index and the scoring standards were specified. Third, evaluation model and grade. The evaluation model of popular science tourism development was constructed and the evaluation results were classified into 4 grades. Fourth, empirical study. The evaluation model was applied to measure and investigate popular science tourism of Henan Yuntain Mountain World Geopark and the final score was 7.619, indicating a higher evaluation grade of popular science tourism of the park. Accurate estimates of the spatial distribution of total nitrogen (TN) in soil are fundamental for soil quality assessment, decision making in land management, and global nitrogen cycle modeling. In China, current maps are limited to individual regions or are of coarse resolution. In this study, we compiled a new 90-m resolution map of soil TN in China by the weighted summation of random forest and extreme gradient boosting. After harmonizing soil data from 4022 soil profiles into a fixed soil depth (0–20 cm) by equal area spline, 18 environmental covariates were employed to characterize the spatial pattern of soil TN in topsoil across China. The accuracy assessments from independent validation data showed that the weighted model averaging gave the best predictions with an acceptable R2 (0.41). The prediction map showed that high-value areas of soil TN were mainly distributed in the eastern Tibetan Plateau, central Qilian Mountains and the north of the Greater Khingan Range. Climate factors had a considerable influence on the variation of the soil TN, and land-use types played a pivotal part in each climate zone. This high-resolution and high-quality soil TN data set in China can be very useful for future inventories of soil nitrogen, assessments of soil nutrient status, and management of arable land.
