The growing popularity of contact-free smart sensing has contributed to the development of the Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT). The contact-free sensory data has great potential to mine and analyze the hidden information for AIoT-enabled applications. However, due to the limited storage resource of contact-free smart sensing devices, data is naturally stored in the cloud, which is at risk of privacy leakage. Cloud storage is generally considered insecure. On one hand, the openness of the cloud environment makes the data easy to be attacked, and the complex AIoT environment also makes the data transmission process vulnerable to the third party. On the other hand, the Cloud Service Provider (CSP) is untrusted. In this article, to ensure the security of data from contact-free smart sensing devices, a Cloud-Edge-End cooperative storage scheme is proposed, which takes full advantage of the differences in the cloud, edge, and end. Firstly, the processed sensory data is stored separately in the three layers by utilizing well-designed data partitioning strategy. This scheme can increase the difficulty of privacy leakage in the transmission process and avoid internal and external attacks. Besides, the contact-free sensory data is highly time-dependent. Therefore, combined with the Cloud-Edge-End cooperation model, this article proposes a delta-based data update method and extends it into a hybrid update mode to improve the synchronization efficiency. Theoretical analysis and experimental results show that the proposed cooperative storage method can resist various security threats in bad situations and outperform other update methods in synchronization efficiency, significantly reducing the synchronization overhead in AIoT. Purpose: Parenting for Lifelong Health for Young Children (PLH-YC) is a program to prevent child maltreatment. This study aimed to examine the feasibility, acceptability and preliminary effects of the adapted program for Chinese parents. Methods: A pre–post single-arm pilot trial was conducted with 21 Chinese parents. A mixed-method design was utilized to collect questionnaire-based quantitative data and qualitative data of interviews and focus group discussions. Results: Program implementation was feasible, with overall high recruitment, enrollment, attendance, acceptability and fidelity. Quantitative results demonstrated reductions in general child maltreatment, physical and emotional abuse, child behavioral problems, and improvements in positive parenting. Thematic analyses identified reduced violent discipline, psychological aggression, and child behavioral problems, strengthened parent–child bonds, increased parenting confidence, and decreased family conflict. Conclusion: The adapted PLH-YC program for Chinese parents has shown good feasibility and acceptability, and exhibited a significant association with reduced child maltreatment. Arguments about the associations between child maltreatment and empathy remain controversial. This systematic review and meta-analysis aim to estimate the direction and magnitude of the relationships between child abuse and neglect and empathy. Four English databases (Web of Science, PsycInfo, PubMed, and Cochrane Library), three Chinese databases (China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang, and Weipu), and grey literature were systematically searched. We extracted data related to the associations between child maltreatment and empathy and pooled them using random effects models. A total of 24 eligible studies involving 22,580 participants and 176 estimates were included in the analyses. Overall, child maltreatment was significantly related to reduced empathy ( r _ = −0.15, 95% CI [−0.17, −0.13]). Specifically, the rank-order mean effect size of subtypes of maltreatment on empathy is: emotional neglect ( r _ = −0.18, 95% CI [−0.25, −0.12]) > physical neglect ( r _ = −0.16, 95% CI [−0.23, −0.09]) > emotional abuse ( r _ = −0.15, 95% CI [−0.21, −0.10]) > physical abuse ( r _ = −0.12, 95% CI [−0.17, −0.07]) > sexual abuse ( r _ = −0.07, 95% CI [−0.14, −0.01]). Furthermore, the meta-regression results suggested that the aggregated associations between child maltreatment and empathy were not inflated by publication bias, but they were moderated by the age of respondents, sample size, publication language, empathy measurement, and maltreatment type. The results indicate that general maltreatment and its subtypes are associated with reduced empathy. Parent training and empathy enhancement programs should be designed to help children with a history of childhood maltreatment, respectively, from an early stage. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Borosilicate glass has been employed for immobilization of high‐level radioactive waste (HLW). During long‐term geological disposal, the irradiation damage from radionuclides and the potential risk of groundwater corrosion may compromise the integrity of HLW containment. In this work, Na‐borosilicate and Zr‐Na borosilicate glasses were irradiated with 2 MeV He ions. The leaching behaviors of both glass types were investigated using the MCC‐1 method at 90°C. Different techniques, including Raman spectroscopy, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy, Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy, and Time‐of‐Flight Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry, were employed to analyze the leached samples and the leachate. The results indicated that He ion radiation could accelerate the leaching process of borosilicate glasses. The leaching rate of He irradiated borosilicate glass was between that of the pristine and Xe irradiated borosilicate glasses. This finding enhances our understanding of the discrepancies in leaching behavior associated with alpha particles and recoil nuclides during alpha decay. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: To investigate the effects of probiotics combined with enteral nutrition therapy on intestinal flora, digestive tract symptoms and endogenous environment in patients with gastric cancer undergoing chemotherapy., Methods: In this retrospective study, eighty patients with gastric cancer undergoing chemotherapy admitted to Affiliated Hospital of Hebei University from January 2021 to September 2023 were included and divided into two groups by random number table method: the enteral nutrition group and the probiotics combined enteral nutrition group (n=40 each group). The differences in the number of intestinal flora, nutritional indicators, immune function, endotoxin, D-lactic acid levels between the two groups, and the digestive tract symptoms of the two groups before and after treatment were compared and recorded., Results: The levels of serum total protein (TP), prealbumin (PAB), albumin (ALB) and transferrin (TF) in both groups were higher than those before treatment, and those in the probiotics combined with enteral nutrition group were higher than those in the enteral nutrition group (p< 0.05). The levels of immunoglobulin A (lgA), immunoglobulin M (lgM) and immunoglobulin G (lgG) in the two groups were lower than before treatment, and those in the probiotics combined with the enteral nutrition group were lower than those in the enteral nutrition group (p< 0.05)., Conclusion: Probiotics combined with enteral nutrition results in various benefits in the treatment of patients with gastric cancer undergoing chemotherapy, improving immunity, and reducing gastrointestinal symptoms., Competing Interests: Conflicts of interest: None, (Copyright: © Pakistan Journal of Medical Sciences.)
