Vehicle environmental awareness is a crucial issue in improving road safety. Through a variety of sensors and vehicle-to-vehicle communication, vehicles can collect a wealth of data. However, to make these data useful, sensor data must be integrated effectively. This paper focuses on the integration of image data and vehicle-to-vehicle communication data. More specifically, our goal is to identify the locations of vehicles sending messages within images, a challenge termed the vehicle identification problem. In this paper, we employ a supervised learning model to tackle the vehicle identification problem. However, we face two practical issues: first, drivers are typically unwilling to share privacy-sensitive image data, and second, drivers usually do not engage in data labeling. To address these challenges, this paper introduces a comprehensive solution to the vehicle identification problem, which leverages federated learning and automatic labeling techniques in combination with the aforementioned supervised learning model. We have validated the feasibility of our proposed approach through experiments.

In this paper, we consider a company can simultaneously reduce its emissions and buy carbon allowances at any time. We establish an optimal control model involving two stochastic processes with two control variables, which is a singular control problem. This model can then be converted into a Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman (HJB) equation, which is a two-dimensional variational equality with gradient barrier, so that the free boundary is a surface. We prove the existence and uniqueness of the solution. Finally, some numerical results are shown.

In this paper, we systematically investigate the general dark matter-electron interactions within the framework of effective field theories (EFT). We consider both the non-relativistic (NR) EFT and the relativistic EFT descriptions of the interactions with the spin of dark matter (DM) up to one, i.e., the scalar ($\phi$), fermion ($\chi$), and vector $(X)$ DM scenarios. We first collect the leading-order NR EFT operators describing the DM-electron interactions, and construct especially the NR operators for the vector DM case. Next, we consider all possible leading-order relativistic EFT operators including those with a photon field and perform the NR reduction to match them onto the NR EFT. Then we rederive the DM-bound-electron scattering rate within the NR EFT framework and find that the matrix element squared, which is the key input that encodes the DM and atomic information, can be compactly decomposed into three terms. Each term is a product of a DM response function $(a_{0,1,2})$, which is essentially a factor of Wilson coefficients squared, and its corresponding generalized atomic response function ($\widetilde W_{0,1,2}$). Lastly, we employ the electron recoil data from the DM direct detection experiments (including XENON10, XENON1T, and PandaX-4T) to constrain all the non-relativistic and relativistic operators in all three DM scenarios. We set strong bounds on the DM-electron interactions in the sub-GeV region. Particularly, we find that the latest PandaX-4T S2-only data provide stringent constraints on dark matter with a mass greater than approximately 20 MeV, surpassing those from the previous XENON10 and XENON1T experiments., Comment: 37 pages, 8 figures, minor corrections for several typos, and added one reference. In this letter we revisit general dark matter (DM)-bound-electron interactions studied previously in the influential work of [Catena et al., Phys. Rev. Res. 2, 033195 (2020)]. We derive the DM-electron response functions and find a crucial minus sign was missed for the second atomic response function $W_2$ defined in that work. The minus sign has significant phenomenological consequences when explaining experimental bounds on specific DM scenarios. Furthermore, for the most general DM-electron nonrelativistic or relativistic interactions for DM with spin up to one, we find there are three DM response functions ($a_{0,1,2}$) whose corresponding atomic response functions ($\widetilde W_{0,1,2}$) are linear combinations of the four response functions ($W_{1,2,3,4}$) given in that work, $$ \widetilde W_0 = W_1, \, \widetilde W_2 = |\mathbf{v}_0^\perp|^2 W_1+ W_3 - 2 {m_e\, \mathbf{q}\cdot \mathbf{v}_0^\perp \over \mathbf{q}^2} W_2,\, \widetilde W_3 = { (\mathbf{q}\cdot \mathbf{v}_0^\perp)^2 \over \mathbf{q}^2} W_1 + {m_e^2 \over \mathbf{q}^2}W_4 - 2 {m_e\, \mathbf{q}\cdot \mathbf{v}_0^\perp \over \mathbf{q}^2} W_2. $$ Due to the minus sign correction for $W_2$, there can be significant cancellations between the $W_2$ and $W_{3,4}$ terms, so that $\widetilde W_{2,3}$ are dominated by the usual response function $W_1$ in some cases. Ignoring the sign could thus result in misinterpretation of the experimental data in some DM scenarios. As an example, we show that the recent XENON1T constraint on the fermionic DM anapole moment is weakened by a factor of 2 or so. Many DM scenarios involving DM or electron axial-vector current can yield $W_2$ and thus are potentially affected by the sign., Comment: 6+2 pages, 4 figures

Effective field theory (EFT) provides a model-independent framework for interpreting the results of dark matter (DM) direct detection experiments. In this study, we demonstrate that the two fermionic DM-quark tensor operators, $(\bar{\chi} i\sigma^{\mu\nu} \gamma^5 \chi) (\bar{q} \sigma_{\mu\nu}q)$ and $(\bar{\chi} \sigma^{\mu\nu} \chi) (\bar{q} \sigma_{\mu\nu} q)$, can contribute to the DM electric and magnetic dipole moments via nonperturbative QCD effects, in addition to the well-studied contact DM-nucleon operators. We then investigate the constraints on these two operators by considering both the contact and the dipole contributions using the XENON1T nuclear recoil and Migdal effect data. We also recast other existing bounds on the DM dipole operators, derived from electron and nuclear recoil measurements in various direct detection experiments, as constraints on the two tensor operators. For $m_\chi \lesssim 1\,\rm GeV$, our results significantly extend the reach of constraints on the DM-quark tensor operators to masses as low as $5\,\rm MeV$, with the bound exceeding that obtained by the Migdal effect with only contact interactions by an order of magnitude or so. In particular, for the operator $(\bar{\chi} \sigma^{\mu\nu}i\gamma_5 \chi) (\bar{q} \sigma_{\mu\nu}q)$ with DM mass $m_\chi \gtrsim 10\,\rm GeV$, the latest PandaX constraint on the DM electric dipole moment puts more stringent bounds than the previous direct detection limit., Comment: v1: 19 pages, 4 figures; v2: We have updated discussion on nucleon form factors by using more recent numbers, without modifying our final numerical results; v3: Add comparisons with other constraints and provide a UV model for the generation of tensor operators from tree-level matching; To be published in CPC

In this paper, we study the stability of traveling wave solutions arising from a credit rating migration problem with a free boundary, After some transformations, we turn the Free Boundary Problem into a fully nonlinear parabolic problem on a fixed domain and establish a rigorous stability analysis of the equilibrium in an exponentially weighted function space. It implies the convergence of the discounted value of bonds that stands as an attenuated traveling wave solution.

The illumination of improperly exposed photographs has been widely corrected using deep convolutional neural networks or Transformers. Despite with promising performance, these methods usually suffer from large parameter amounts and heavy computational FLOPs on high-resolution photographs. In this paper, we propose extremely light-weight (with only ~8K parameters) Multi-Scale Linear Transformation (MSLT) networks under the multi-layer perception architecture, which can process 4K-resolution sRGB images at 125 Frame-Per-Second (FPS) by a Titan RTX GPU. Specifically, the proposed MSLT networks first decompose an input image into high and low frequency layers by Laplacian pyramid techniques, and then sequentially correct different layers by pixel-adaptive linear transformation, which is implemented by efficient bilateral grid learning or 1x1 convolutions. Experiments on two benchmark datasets demonstrate the efficiency of our MSLTs against the state-of-the-arts on photo exposure correction. We introduce the effective field theory of two different light dark particles interacting with the standard model (SM) light states in a single vertex, termed dark sector effective field theory (DSEFT). We focus on the new light particles with spin up to 1 and being real in essence, namely, new real scalars $\phi$ and $S$, Majorana fermions $\chi$ and $\psi$, and real vectors $X_\mu$ and $V_\mu$. In the framework of low energy effective field theory with QED and QCD symmetry, the DSEFT can be classified into six categories, including the scalar-scalar-SM ($\phi S$-SM), fermion-fermion-SM ($\chi\psi$-SM), vector-vector-SM ($X V$-SM), scalar-fermion-SM ($\phi \chi$-SM), scalar-vector-SM ($\phi X$-SM), and fermion-vector-SM ($\chi X$-SM) cases. For each case, we construct the effective operator basis up to canonical dimension 7, which will cover most interesting phenomenology at low energy. As a phenomenological example, we investigate the longstanding neutron lifetime anomaly through the neutron dark decay modes $n \to \chi \phi \text{ or } \chi X$ from the effective interactions in the fermion-scalar-SM or fermion-vector-SM case. When treating the light fermion as a dark matter candidate, we also explore the constraints from DM-neutron annihilation signal at Super-Kamiokande. We find the neutron dark decay in each scenario can accommodate the anomaly, at the same time, without contradicting with the Super-Kamiokande limit., Comment: 33 pages, 4 figures, typos are corrected and several new references are included. The recycling of quantum correlations has attracted widespread attention both theoretically and experimentally. Previous works show that bilateral sharing of nonlocality is impossible under mild measurement strategy and 2-qubit entangled state can be used to witness entanglement arbitrary many times by sequential and independent pairs of observers. However, less is known about the bilateral sharing of EPR steering yet. Here, we aim at investigating the EPR steering sharing between sequential pairs of observers. We show that an unbounded number of sequential Alice-Bob pairs can share the EPR steering as long as the initially shared state is an entangled two-qubit pure state. Quantum approximate optimization algorithm (QAOA) is a promising variational quantum algorithm for combinatorial optimization problems. However, the implementation of QAOA is limited due to the requirement that the problems be mapped to Ising Hamiltonians and the nonconvex optimization landscapes. Although the Ising Hamiltonians for many NP hard problems have been obtained, a general method to obtain the Ising Hamiltonians for constrained combinatorial optimization problems (CCOPs) has not yet been investigated. In this paper, a general method is introduced to obtain the Ising Hamiltonians for CCOPs and the Metropolis-Hastings warm-starting algorithm for QAOA is presented which can provably converge to the global optimal solutions. The effectiveness of this method is demonstrated by tackling the minimum weight vertex cover (MWVC) problem, the minimum vertex cover (MVC) problem, and the maximal independent set problem as examples. The Ising Hamiltonian for the MWVC problem is obtained first time by using this method. The advantages of the Metropolis-Hastings warm-starting algorithm presented here is numerically analyzed through solving 30 randomly generated MVC cases with 1-depth QAOA.

Quantifying coherence is an essential endeavor for both quantum mechanical foundations and quantum technologies. We present a bona fide measure of quantum coherence by utilizing the Tsallis relative operator $(\alpha, \beta)$-entropy. We first prove that the proposed coherence measure fulfills all the criteria of a well defined coherence measure, including the strong monotonicity in the resource theories of quantum coherence. We then study the ordering of the Tsallis relative operator $(\alpha, \beta)$-entropy of coherence, Tsallis relative $\alpha$-entropies of coherence, R\'{e}nyi $\alpha$-entropy of coherence and $l_{1}$ norm of coherence for both pure and mixed qubit states. This provides a new method for defining new coherence measure and entanglement measure, and also provides a new idea for further study of quantum coherence., Comment: 10 pages, 6 figures

Quantum coherence is a fundamental feature of quantum physics and plays a significant role in quantum information processing. By generalizing the resource theory of coherence from von Neumann measurements to positive operator-valued measures (POVMs), POVM-based coherence measures have been proposed with respect to the relative entropy of coherence, the $l_1$ norm of coherence, the robustness of coherence and the Tsallis relative entropy of coherence. We derive analytically the lower and upper bounds on these POVM-based coherence of an arbitrary given superposed pure state in terms of the POVM-based coherence of the states in superposition. Our results can be used to estimate range of quantum coherence of superposed states. Detailed examples are presented to verify our analytical bounds., Comment: 15 pages, 2 figures

Universal quantum algorithms (UQA) implemented on fault-tolerant quantum computers are expected to achieve an exponential speedup over classical counterparts. However, the deep quantum circuits makes the UQA implausible in the current era. With only the noisy intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) devices in hand, we introduce the quantum-assisted quantum algorithm, which reduces the circuit depth of UQA via NISQ technology. Based on this framework, we present two quantum-assisted quantum algorithms for simulating open quantum systems, which utilize two parameterized quantum circuits to achieve a short-time evolution. We propose a variational quantum state preparation method, as a subroutine to prepare the ancillary state, for loading a classical vector into a quantum state with a shallow quantum circuit and logarithmic number of qubits. We demonstrate numerically our approaches for a two-level system with an amplitude damping channel and an open version of the dissipative transverse field Ising model on two sites., Comment: 19 pages,5 figures

Calculating the trace of the product of $m$ $n$-qubit density matrices (multivariate trace) is a crucial subroutine in quantum error mitigation and information measures estimation. We propose an unified multivariate trace estimation (UMT) which conceptually unifies the previous qubit-optimal and depth-optimal approaches with tunable quantum circuit depth and the number of qubits. The constructed circuits have $\lceil(m-1)/s\rceil$ or $n\lceil(m-1)/s\rceil$ depth corresponding to $(s+m)n$ or $s+mn$ qubits for $s\in\{1,\cdots,\lfloor m/2\rfloor\}$, respectively. Such flexible circuit structures enable people to choose suitable circuits according different hardware devices. We apply UMT to virtual distillation for achieving exponential error suppression and design a family of concrete circuits to calculate the trace of the product of $8$ and $9$ $n$-qubit density matrices. Numerical example shows that the additional circuits still mitigate the noise expectation value under the global depolarizing channel., Comment: 8 pages, 4 figures

In this work, a pricing model for a defaultable corporate bond with credit rating migration risk is established. The model turns out to be a free boundary problem with two free boundaries. The latter are the level sets of the solution but of different kinds. One is from the discontinuous second order term, the other from the obstacle. Existence, uniqueness, and regularity of the solution are obtained. We also prove that two free boundaries are $C^\infty$. The asymptotic behavior of the solution is also considered: we show that it converges to a traveling wave solution when time goes to infinity. Moreover, numerical results are presented.
