We study the absorption of massless scalar field by two types furry charged black holes in de Rham-Gabadadze-Tolley (dRGT) theory. The absorption cross section is calculated in high frequency limit $\sigma_{hf}$ and low frequency limit $\sigma_{lf}$. We show that the high frequency limit $\sigma_{hf}$ is the area of shadow and the low frequency limit $\sigma_{lf}$ is the area of horizon. The ratio $R_{f}=\frac{\sigma_{hf}}{\sigma_{lf}}$ is used to measure the impact of charges on the absorption spectra of furry black hole. If the black hole possess an extra charge except mass, the interval value of absorption ratio $R_{f}$ is different: $[1,\frac{27}{16}]$ for electric charge, $[0.7675,\frac{27}{16}]$ for positive charge and $[\frac{27}{16},3.1835]$ for negative charge. We also use a numerical method to compute the absorption cross section in the finite frequency domain. A series of numerical results are presented.

The spectral energy distribution (SED) sequence for type Ia supernovae (SN Ia) is modeled by an artificial neural network. The SN Ia luminosity is characterized as a function of phase, wavelength, a color parameter and a decline rate parameter. After training and testing the neural network, the SED sequence could give both the spectrum with wavelength range from 3000\AA~to 8000\AA~ and the light curve with phase from 20 days before to 50 days after the maximum luminosity for the supernovae with different colors and decline rates. Therefore, we call this the Artificial Neural Network Spectral Light Curve Template (ANNSLCT) model. We retrain the Joint Light-curve Analysis (JLA) supernova sample by using the ANNSLCT model and obtain the parameters for each supernova to make a constraint on the cosmological $\Lambda$CDM model. We find that the best fitting values of these parameters are almost the same as those from the JLA sample trained with the Spectral Adaptive Lightcurve Template 2 (SALT2) model. So we believe that the ANNSLCT model could be used to analyze a large number of SN Ia multi-color light curves measured in the current and future observational projects., Comment: 8 pages two columns, 17 figures

The phantom dark energy remarkably boosts our prehension of the accelerating Universe. Various models are widely discussed in the phantom Universe without bulk viscosity. From the hydrodynamics' point of view, it is natural to introduce the nonperfect fluid in the study of the Universe, as an ideal fluid just an approximation to the real world after all and using the generalized equation of state (EoS) with bulk viscosity, the early inflationary universe and the accelerated expansion of the late-time universe are described by many authors. In this paper, in order to investigate how the viscosity will influence the evolution of the Universe, we study a class of phantom dark energy models with bulk viscosity by the method of dynamical analysis technique. We show that there are different cosmic late-time behaviors and the stability also brings some constraints on the models. Recently, it was found that after imposing a helix boundary condition on a scalar field, the Casimir force coming from the quantum effect is linearly proportional to $r$, which is the ratio of the pitch to the circumference of the helix. This linear behavior of the Casimir force is just like that of the force obeying the Hooke's law on a spring. In this paper, inspiring by some complex structures that lives in the cells of human body like DNA, protein, collagen etc., we generalize the helix boundary condition to a more general one, in which the helix consists of a tiny helix structure, and makes up a hierarchy of helix. After imposing this kind of boundary condition on a massless and a massive scalar, we calculate the Casimir energy and force by using the so-called zeta function regularization method. We find that the Hooke's law with the generalized helix boundary condition is not exactly the same as usual one. In this case, the force is proportional to the cube of $r$ instead. So we regard it as a generalized Hooke's law, which is complied by a \emph{generalized quantum spring}., Comment: 10 pages, 1 figure

While a scalar field with a pole in its kinetic term is often used to study the cosmological inflation, it can also play the role of dark energy, which is called the pole dark energy model. We propose a generalized model that the scalar field may have two or even multiple poles in the kinetic term and we call it the multi-pole dark energy. We find the poles can place some restrictions on the values of the original scalar field with non-canonical kinetic term. After transforming to the canonical form, we get a flat potential for the transformed new scalar field even if the original field has a steep one. It The late-time evolution of the universe is obtained explicitly for the two pole model, while dynamical analysis is performed for the multiple pole model. Recently, a new kind of $f(z)$ theory is proposed to provide a different perspective for the development of reliable alternative models of gravity in which the $f(R)$ Lagrangian terms are reformulated as polynomial parameterizations $f(z)$. In the previous study, the parameters in the $f(z)$ models have been constrained by using cosmological data. In this paper, these models will be tested by the observations in the solar system. After solving the Ricci scalar as a function of the redshift, one could obtain $f(R)$ that could be used to calculate the standard Parameterized-Post-Newtonian (PPN) parameters. First, we fit the parametric models with the latest cosmological observational data. Then the tests are performed by solar system observations. And last we combine the constraints of solar system and cosmology together and reconstruct the $f(R)$ actions of the $f(z)$ parametric models., Comment: 15 pages

There is undetermined potential function $V(\phi)$ in the action of mimetic gravity which should be resolved through physical means. In general relativity(GR), the static spherically symmetric(SSS) solution to the Einstein equation is a benchmark and its deformation also plays a crucial role in mimetic gravity. The equation of motion is provided with high nonlinearity, but we can reduce primal nonlinearity to a frequent Riccati form in the SSS case of mimetic gravity. In other words, we obtain an expression of solution to the functional differential equation of motion with any potential function. Remarkably, we proved rigorously that there is a zero point of first order for the metric function $\beta(r)$ if another metric function $\alpha(r)$ possesses a pole of first order within mimetic gravity. The zero point theorem may be regarded as the generalization of Birkhoff theorem $\alpha\beta=1$ in GR. As a corollary, we show that there is a modified black hole solution for any given $V(\phi)$, which can pass the test of solar system. As another corollary, the zero point theorem provides a dynamical mechanism for the maximum size of galaxies. Especially, there are two analytic solutions which provide good fits to the rotation curves of galaxies without the demand for particle dark matter., Comment: 11 pages

It is known that a massive charged scalar field can trigger a superradiant instability in the background of a Kerr-Newman black hole. In this paper, we present a numerical study of such an instability by using the continued fraction method. It is shown that for given a black hole, the unstable scalar mode with a specific azimuthal index $m$ only occurs in a finite region in the parameter space of the scalar field. The maximum mass of the scalar cloud is exactly the upper bound of the mass of the unstable modes. We show that due to the electromagnetic interaction between the scalar field and the Kerr-Newman black hole, the growth rate of the instability can be $15.7\%$ larger than that of a scalar field in Kerr spacetime of the same rotation parameter. In addition, we find a maximum value of the growth rate $\tau^{-1}=1.788\times 10^{-7}M^{-1}$, which is about $4\%$ larger than that in the Kerr case., Comment: 8 pages, 5 figures, accepted for publication in PRD

The currently accelerated expansion of our Universe is unarguably one of the most intriguing problems in today's physics research. Two realistic non-minimal torsion-matter coupling $f(T)$ models have been established and studied in our previous papers [Phys. Rev. D92, 104038(2015) and Eur. Phys. J. C77, 504(2017)] aiming to explain this "dark energy" problem. In this paper, we study the generalized power-law torsion-matter coupling $f(T)$ model. Dynamical system analysis shows that the three expansion phases of the Universe, i.e. the radiation dominated era, the matter dominated era and the dark energy dominated era, can all be reproduced in this generalized model. By using the statefinder and $Om$ diagnostics, we find that the different cases of the model can be distinguished from each other and from other dark energy models such as the two models in our previous papers, $\Lambda$CDM, quintessence and Chaplygin gas. Furthermore, the analyses also show that all kinds of generalized power-law torsion-matter coupling model are able to cross the $w=-1$ divide from below to above, thus the decrease of the energy density resulting from the crossing of $w$ will make the catastrophic fate of the Universe avoided and a de Sitter expansion fate in the future will be approached., Comment: 9 pages,12 figures

We construct and train an artificial neural network called the back-propagation neural network to describe the evolution of the type Ia supernova spectrum by using the data from the CfA Supernova Program. This network method has many attractive features, and one of them is that the constructed model is differentiable. Benefitting from this, we calculate the absorption velocity and its variation. The model we constructed can well describe not only the spectrum of SNe Ia with wavelength range from $3500\AA$ to $8000\AA$, but also the light-curve evolution with phase time from $-15$ to $50$ with different colors. The behavior of a massive charged test Dirac field in the background of a Reissner-Nordstr\"om black hole is investigated. Especially, we obtain the frequencies of quasibound states by solving the Dirac equation numerically both in time and frequency domain. In this paper, the behaviour of a charged massive scalar test field in the background of a Kerr-Sen black hole is investigated. A kind of stationary solutions, dubbed scalar clouds, are obtained numerically and expressed by the existence lines in the parameter space. We show that for fixed background and a given set of harmonic indices, the mass and charge of the scalar clouds are limited in a finite region in the parameter space of the scalar field. Particularly, the maximum values of the mass and charge of the clouds around extremal Kerr-Sen black holes are independent of the angular velocity of the black hole, whereas those in the extremal Kerr-Newman background depend on the angular velocity. It is known that the Cardassian universe is successful in describing the accelerated expansion of the universe, but its dynamical equations are hard to get from the action principle. In this paper, we establish the connection between the Cardassian universe and $f(T, \mathcal{T})$ gravity, where $T$ is the torsion scalar and $\mathcal{T}$ is the trace of the matter energy-momentum tensor. For dust matter, we find that the modified Friedmann equations from $f(T, \mathcal{T})$ gravity can correspond to those of Cardassian models, and thus, a possible origin of Cardassian universe is given. We obtain the original Cardassian model, the modified polytropic Cardassian model, and the exponential Cardassian model from the Lagrangians of $f(T,\mathcal{T})$ theory. Furthermore, by adding an additional term to the corresponding Lagrangians, we give three generalized Cardassian models from $f(T,\mathcal{T})$ theory. Using the observation data of type Ia supernovae, cosmic microwave background radiation, and baryon acoustic oscillations, we get the fitting results of the cosmological parameters and give constraints of model parameters for all of these models., Comment: 7 pages, 3 figures

Using the classical top-hat profile, we study the non-linear growth of spherically symmetric density perturbation and structure formation in $f(T)$ gravities. In particular, three concrete models, which have been tested against the observation of large-scale evolution and linear perturbation of the universe in the cosmological scenario, are investigated in this framework, covering both minimal and nonminimal coupling cases of $f(T)$ gravities. Moreover, we consider the virialization of the overdense region in the models after they detach from the background expanding universe and turn around to collapse. We find that there are constraints in the magnitude and occurring epoch of the initial perturbation. The existence of these constraints indicates that a perturbation that is too weak or occurs too late will not be able to stop the expanding of the overdense region. The illustration of the evolution of the perturbation shows that in $f(T)$ gravities, the initial perturbation within the constraints can eventually lead to clustering and form structure. We present a detailed study of the Vaidya solution and its generalization in de Rham-Gabadadze-Tolley (dRGT) theory. Since the diffeomorphism invariance can be restored with the St\"{u}ckelberg fields $\phi^a$ introduced, there is a new invariant $I^{ab}=g^{\mu \nu}\partial_\mu \phi^a\partial_\nu \phi^b$ in the massive gravity, which adds to the ones usually encountered in general relativity. There is no conventional Vaidya solution if we choose unitary gauge. In this paper, we obtain three types of self-consistent ansatz with some nonunitary gauge, and find accordingly the Vaidya, generalized Vaidya and furry Vaidya solution. As by-products, we obtain a series of furry black hole. In the previous paper, we have constructed two $f(T)$ models with nonminimal torsion-matter coupling extension, which are successful in describing the evolution history of the Universe including the radiation-dominated era, the matter-dominated era, and the present accelerating expansion. Meantime, the significant advantage of these models is that they could avoid the cosmological constant problem of $\Lambda$CDM. However, the nonminimal coupling between matter and torsion will affect the tests of Solar system. In this paper, we study the effects of Solar system in these models, including the gravitation redshift, geodetic effect and perihelion preccesion. In this paper, a detailed analysis for superradiant stability of the system composed by a $D$-dimensional Reissner-Nordstr\"{o}m-anti-de Sitter (RN-AdS) black hole and a reflecting mirror under charged scalar perturbations are presented in the linear regime. It is found that the stability of the system is heavily affected by the mirror radius as well as the mass of the scalar perturbation, AdS radius and the dimension of space-time. In a higher dimensional space-time, the degree of instability of the superradiant modes will be severely weakened. Nevertheless, the degree of instability can be magnified significantly by choosing a suitable value of the mirror radius. Remarkably, when the mirror radius is smaller than a threshold value the system becomes stable. We also find that massive charged scalar fields cannot trigger the instabilities in the background of $D$-dimensional asymptotically flat RN black hole. For a given scalar charge, a small RN-AdS black hole can be superradiantly unstable, while a large one may be always stable under charged scalar field with or without a reflecting mirror. To probe the late evolution history of the Universe, we adopt two kinds of optimal basis systems. One of them is constructed by performing the principle component analysis (PCA) and the other is build by taking the multidimensional scaling (MDS) approach. Cosmological observables such as the luminosity distance can be decomposed into these basis systems. These basis are optimized for different kinds of cosmological models that based on different physical assumptions, even for a mixture model of them. Therefore, the so-called feature space that projected from the basis systems is cosmological model independent, and it provide a parameterization for studying and reconstructing the Hubble expansion rate from the supernova luminosity distance and even gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) data with self-calibration. The circular problem when using GRBs as cosmological candles is naturally eliminated in this procedure. By using the Levenberg-Marquardt (LM) technique and the Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) method, we perform an observational constraint on this kind of parameterization. The data we used include the "joint light-curve analysis" (JLA) data set that consists of $740$ Type Ia supernovae (SNIa) as well as $109$ long gamma-ray bursts with the well-known Amati relation., Comment: 10 pages, 10 figures

We present a detailed study of the static spherically symmetric solutions in de Rham-Gabadadze-Tolley (dRGT) theory. Since the diffeomorphism invariance can be restored by introducing the St\"{u}ckelberg fields $\phi^a$, there is new invariant $I^{ab}=g^{\mu\nu}\partial_{\mu}\phi^a\partial_\nu\phi^b$ in the massive gravity, which adds to the ones usually encountered in general relativity (GR). In the unitary gauge $\phi^a=x^\mu\delta_\mu^a$, any inverse metric $g^{\mu\nu}$ that has divergence including the coordinate singularity in GR would exhibit a singularity in the invariant $I^{ab}$. Therefore, there is no conventional Schwarzschild metric if we choose unitary gauge. In this paper, we obtain a self-consistent static spherically symmetric ansatz in the nonunitary gauge. Under this ansatz, we find that there are seven solutions including the Schwarzschild solution, Reissner-Nordstr\"{o}m solution and five other solutions. These solutions may possess an event horizon depending upon the physical parameters (Schwarzschild radius $r_s$, scalar charge $S$ and/or electric charge $Q$). If these solutions possess an event horizon, we show that the singularity of $I^{ab}$ is absent at the horizon. Using the observation data of SNeIa, CMB and BAO, we establish two concrete $f(T)$ models with nonminimal torsion-matter coupling extension. We study in detail the cosmological implication of our models and find they are successful in describing the observation of the Universe, its large scale structure and evolution. In other words, these models do not change the successful aspects of $\Lambda$CDM scenario under the error band of fitting values as describing the evolution history of the Universe including radiation-dominated era, matter-dominated era and the present accelerating expansion. Meanwhile, the significant advantage of these models is that they could avoid the cosmological constant problem of $\Lambda$CDM. A joint analysis is performed by using the data of CMB+BAO+JLA, which leads to $\Omega_{m0}=0.255\pm 0.010, \Omega_{b0}h^2=0.0221\pm 0.0003$ and $H_0=68.54\pm 1.27$ for model I and $\Omega_{m0}=0.306\pm 0.010, \Omega_{b0}h^2=0.0225\pm 0.0003$ and $H_0=60.97\pm 0.44$ for model II at 1$\sigma$ confidence level. The evolution of the decelaration parameter $q(a)$ and the effective equation of state $w_{DE}(a)$ are displayed. Furthermore, The resulted age of the Universe from our models is consistent with the ages of the oldest globular clusters. As for the fate of the Universe, model I results in a de Sitter accelerating phase while model II appears a power-law one, even though $w_{DE0}< -1$ makes model I look like a phantom at present time., Comment: 12 pages, 5 figures

We present a detailed study of the spherically symmetric solutions in Lorentz breaking massive gravity. There is an undetermined function $\mathcal{F}(X, w_1, w_2, w_3)$ in the action of St\"{u}ckelberg fields $S_{\phi}=\Lambda^4\int{d^4x\sqrt{-g}\mathcal{F}}$, which should be resolved through physical means. In the general relativity, the spherically symmetric solution to the Einstein equation is a benchmark and its massive deformation also play a crucial role in Lorentz breaking massive gravity. $\mathcal{F}$ will satisfy the constraint equation $T_0^1=0$ from the spherically symmetric Einstein tensor $G_0^1=0$, if we maintain that any reasonable physical theory should possess the spherically symmetric solutions. The St\"{u}ckelberg field $\phi^i$ is taken as a 'hedgehog' configuration $\phi^i=\phi(r)x^i/r$, whose stability is guaranteed by the topological one. Under this ans\"{a}tz, $T_0^1=0$ is reduced to $d\mathcal{F}=0$. The functions $\mathcal{F}$ for $d\mathcal{F}=0$ form a commutative ring $R^{\mathcal{F}}$. We obtain a general expression of solution to the functional differential equation with spherically symmetry if $\mathcal{F}\in R^{\mathcal{F}}$. If $\mathcal{F}\in R^{\mathcal{F}}$ and $\partial\mathcal{F}/\partial X=0$, the functions $\mathcal{F}$ form a subring $S^{\mathcal{F}}\subset R^{\mathcal{F}}$. The Casimir effect for rectangular boxes has been studied for several decades. But there are still some points unclear. Recently, there are new developments related to this topic, including the demonstration of the equivalence of the regularization methods and the clarification of the ambiguity in the regularization of the temperature-dependent free energy. Also, the interesting quantum spring was raised stemming from the topological Casimir effect of the helix boundary conditions. In a recent work, we present a new point of view to the relation of gravity and thermodynamics, in which we derive the \sch~solution through thermodynamic laws by the aid of the Misner-Sharp mass in an adiabatic system. In this paper we continue to investigate the relation between gravity and thermodynamics for obtaining solutions via thermodynamics. We generalize our studies on gravi-thermodynamics in Einstein gravity to modified gravity theories. By using the first law with the assumption that the Misner-Sharp mass is the mass for an adiabatic system, we reproduce the Boulware-Deser-Cai solution in Guass-Bonnet gravity. Using this gravi-thermodynamics thought, we obtain a NEW class of solution in $F(R)$ gravity in an $n$-dimensional (n$\geq$3) spacetime which permits three-type $(n-2)$-dimensional maximally symmetric subspace, as an extension of our recent three-dimensional black hole solution, and four-dimensional Clifton-Barrow solution in $F(R)$ gravity., Comment: 9pages

We study the Misner-Sharp mass for the $f(R)$ gravity in an $n$-dimensional (n$\geq$3) spacetime which permits three-type $(n-2)$-dimensional maximally symmetric subspace. We obtain the Misner-Sharp mass via two approaches. One is the inverse unified first law method, and the other is the conserved charge method by using a generalized Kodama vector. In the first approach, we assume the unified first still holds in the $n$-dimensional $f(R)$ gravity, which requires a quasi-local mass form (We define it as the generalized Misner-Sharp mass). In the second approach, the conserved charge corresponding to the generalized local Kodama vector is the generalized Misner-Sharp mass. The two approaches are equivalent, which are bridged by a constraint. This constraint determines the existence of a well-defined Misner-Sharp mass. As an important special case, we present the explicit form for the static space, and we calculate the Misner-Sharp mass for Clifton-Barrow solution as an example., Comment: 8 pages

We discuss a Higgs inflation model in the warped DGP braneworld background. It generates reasonable primordial perturbations. At the same time with enhanced non-minimal coupling it overcomes the severe problem in the Higgs inflation in 4 dimension, which says that the effective field theory become invalid at an energy scale far below the energy scale for inflation exit. Furthermore we present the constraints for the parameters confront to PLANCK and related observations. In the three-dimensional pure Einstein gravity, the geometries of the vacuum space-times are always trivial, and gravitational waves (gravitons) are strictly forbidden. For the first time, we find a vacuum circularly symmetric black hole with nontrivial geometries in $f(R)$ gravity theory, in which a true singularity appears. In this frame with nontrivial geometry, a perturbative gravitational wave does exist. Beyond the perturbative level, we make a constructive proof of the existence of a gravitational wave in $f(R)$ gravity, where the Birkhoff-like theorem becomes invalid. Why the cosmological constant $\Lambda$ observed today is so much smaller than the Planck scale or why the universe is accelerating at present? This is so-called the cosmological constant fine-tuning problem. In this paper, we find that this problem is solved with the help of Higgs inflation by simply assuming a variable cosmological "constant" during the inflation epoch. The measurement of the tensor-to-scalar ratio $r$ shows a very powerful constraint to theoretical inflation models through the detection of B-mode. In this paper, we propose a single inflation model with infinity pows series potential called the Infinity Power Series (IPS) inflation model, which is well consistent with latest observations from \textit{Planck} and BICEP2. Furthermore, it is found that in the IPS model, the absolute value the running of the spectral index increases while the tensor-to-scalar ratio becomes large, namely both large $r \approx 0.20$ and $|n_s'|\gtrsim \mathcal{O}(10^{-2})$ are realized in the IPS model.
