Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are significant contributors to air pollution and play a crucial role as precursors for secondary pollutants such as O3, thereby posing severe health risks and attracting global attention. ZIF-67, a metal-organic framework (MOFs), possesses a porous microstructure and high specific surface area, offering exceptional adsorption performance, catalytic activity, and structural stability. In this investigation, a solvent-thermal method was employed to synthesize a series of Fe-modified ZIF-67 denoted as FCMx. The impact of Fe doping and temperature on the dynamic adsorption performance of toluene was examined. The results revealed satisfactory adsorption performance of FCMx when the Fe doping was 14 mol%. FCM14 achieved saturation adsorption of toluene in approximately 5000 s, exhibiting a saturated adsorption capacity of 1769.80 mg/g at 25 °C. This represented a 25% improvement in adsorption time and a 30% increase in saturated adsorption capacity compared to undoped ZIF-67. Furthermore, at a reaction temperature of 150 °C, FCM14 exhibited saturation time of approximately 4300 s and a saturated adsorption amount of 1471.43 mg/g, indicating a combined effect of chemical and physical adsorption. The findings of this research provide valuable experimental data and theoretical support for the potential industrial application of MOFs in VOC adsorption.

Improving steam parameters in a coal-fired power unit boosts cycle efficiency, lowers coal consumption, and reduces emissions. The backpressure extraction steam turbine (BEST) cycle addresses the problem of excessive superheating of extraction steam. This study analyzed a 1000 MW double reheating unit, finding that heat rate in the conventional and BEST cycle systems is heavily influenced by load under THA conditions. At 100% and 75% loads, the BEST cycle’s heat rate decreases but increases at 50% load. For safe operation during flow interruption and high load rates, a pairwise grouping method is recommended for high-pressure heater interruption. When multiple low-pressure heaters are simultaneously cut off, the unit load needs to be limited based on the number of heaters being removed. when multiple low-pressure heaters are simultaneously cut off, the unit load needs to be limited based on the number of heaters being removed. Removing two low-pressure heaters lowers the load to 90%, and three lowers it to 80%. These findings optimize the thermal system’s parameters and enhance overall efficiency.

Background: Closed head injury (CHI) provokes a prominent neuroinflammation that may lead to long-term health consequences. Microglia plays pivotal and complex roles in neuroinflammation-mediated neuronal insult and repair following CHI. We previously reported that induced neural stem cells (iNSCs) can block the effects of CXCL12/CXCR4 signaling on NF-κB activation in activated microglia by CXCR4 overexpression. Here we aim to uncover the mechanism of CXCR4 upregulation in iNSCs. Methods: We performed bioinformatic analysis to detect the differentially expressed genes in iNSCs after co-cultured with LPS-activated microglia. Subsequently, we predicted the target genes and performed gain- and loss-of-functional studies, dualluciferase reporter, RNA immunoprecipitation, biotin-coupled miRNA pulldown, fluorescence in situ hybridization and cell transplantation assays to further elucidate the mechanism underlying the immunoregulatory effects of iNSCs. Student's t-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) with Tukey's post hoc test were used to determine statistical significance. Results: Our results indicated that Malat1 could act as a sponge of miR-139-5p to modulate the expression of CXCR4 that exerted significant influence on the immunoregulatory effects of iNSCs on the secretion of CXCL12, TNF-α and IGF-1 by activated microglia. Furthermore, Malat1 inhibition blocked the immunoregulatory effects of iNSC grafts on microglial activation as well as neuroinflammation in the injured cortices of CHI mice. Interestingly, NF-κB activation in iNSCs augmented the immunoregulatory effects of iNSCs on microglial activation by activating the axis of Malat1/miR-139-5p/Cxcr4. Notably, we found that TNF-α secreted by activated microglia could bind to TNFR1 at the surface of iNSCs to trigger NF-κB activation in iNSCs. Conclusions: In short, our findings reveal a novel role of Malat1 in the immunomodulatory effects of iNSCs on microglial activation, suggesting that transplanted iNSCs may self-perceive the changes of the activated state of microglia and thus make prudential regulation of the neuroinflammation following CHI. Background: ChatGPT (OpenAI) has shown great potential in clinical diagnosis and could become an excellent auxiliary tool in clinical practice. This study investigates and evaluates ChatGPT in diagnostic capabilities by comparing the performance of GPT-3.5 and GPT-4.0 across model iterations. Objective: This study aims to evaluate the precise diagnostic ability of GPT-3.5 and GPT-4.0 for colon cancer and its potential as an auxiliary diagnostic tool for surgeons and compare the diagnostic accuracy rates between GTP-3.5 and GPT-4.0. We precisely assess the accuracy of primary and secondary diagnoses and analyze the causes of misdiagnoses in GPT-3.5 and GPT-4.0 according to 7 categories: patient histories, symptoms, physical signs, laboratory examinations, imaging examinations, pathological examinations, and intraoperative findings. Methods: We retrieved 316 case reports for intestinal cancer from the Chinese Medical Association Publishing House database, of which 286 cases were deemed valid after data cleansing. The cases were translated from Mandarin to English and then input into GPT-3.5 and GPT-4.0 using a simple, direct prompt to elicit primary and secondary diagnoses. We conducted a comparative study to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of GPT-4.0 and GPT-3.5. Three senior surgeons from the General Surgery Department, specializing in Colorectal Surgery, assessed the diagnostic information at the Chinese PLA (People's Liberation Army) General Hospital. The accuracy of primary and secondary diagnoses was scored based on predefined criteria. Additionally, we analyzed and compared the causes of misdiagnoses in both models according to 7 categories: patient histories, symptoms, physical signs, laboratory examinations, imaging examinations, pathological examinations, and intraoperative findings. Results: Out of 286 cases, GPT-4.0 and GPT-3.5 both demonstrated high diagnostic accuracy for primary diagnoses, but the accuracy rates of GPT-4.0 were significantly higher than GPT-3.5 (mean 0.972, SD 0.137 vs mean 0.855, SD 0.335; t 285=5.753; P <.001). For secondary diagnoses, the accuracy rates of GPT-4.0 were also significantly higher than GPT-3.5 (mean 0.908, SD 0.159 vs mean 0.617, SD 0.349; t 285=–7.727; P <.001). GPT-3.5 showed limitations in processing patient history, symptom presentation, laboratory tests, and imaging data. While GPT-4.0 improved upon GPT-3.5, it still has limitations in identifying symptoms and laboratory test data. For both primary and secondary diagnoses, there was no significant difference in accuracy related to age, gender, or system group between GPT-4.0 and GPT-3.5. Conclusions: This study demonstrates that ChatGPT, particularly GPT-4.0, possesses significant diagnostic potential, with GPT-4.0 exhibiting higher accuracy than GPT-3.5. However, GPT-4.0 still has limitations, particularly in recognizing patient symptoms and laboratory data, indicating a need for more research in real-world clinical settings to enhance its diagnostic capabilities.
