The pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is closely associated with the dysfunction of the intestinal epithelial barrier, leading to increased bacterial translocation, leukocyte infiltration, and mucosal injury, which may act as a pivotal or incipient event in the pathophysiology of the disorder. The primary objective of this study is to examine the key genes implicated in IBD and the perturbation of intestinal epithelial cell function.

The odor in a car can have a negative impact on human health, mood, and mentality. Therefore, it is imperative to find an appropriate method to trace the odor and identify the substances that cause it. Three odor testing methods were utilized to evaluate seat-related materials. Subjective evaluation still holds an advantage in odor typing, and many odor types of vehicles and seats are inevitably correlated. By combining subjective and objective methods, 11 types of odor substances can be identified using GC-MSODP. Based on these substances, the relationship with the odor type can be determined in a single step. As a purely objective testing method, GC-IMS can identify 16 types of odor substances by leveraging its principle advantages, which can replace the olfactory identification of the ODP process, reduce harm to personnel, and also facilitate large-scale testing. Degree analysis and other procedures can be employed to effectively control product consistency. However, to achieve better odor traceability and consistency control, it is necessary to develop accurate quantitative methods for GC-IMS.

The selection of mobile phase is significant for the separation result of HPLC, for it may have influence on the quantitative analysis. During HPLC analysis, engineers usually use (water-acetonitrile) mobile phase system to separate aldehydes and ketones, however, the existence of acetone will affect the separation effect of other substances. The paper researches one new (water-acetonitrile-tetrahydrofuran) mobile phase system to separate aldehydes and ketones. By analyzing the standard curves and test results of unknown samples, the new mobile phase can meet the analyzing needs, also it can eliminate the influence of acetone in the analysis process. What’s more, the paper uses molecular simulation[1–3] (MS) to calculate the interactions between the mobile phase and the aldehydes and ketones, mean square displacement value (MSD) and radial distribution function value (RDF), and the separation phenomenon can be well explained. In this paper, MS technology is first proposed for the development of new mobile phase, which can predict new unknown mobile phase, improve the efficiency of method development, also it can benefit the accurate qualitative analysis and prediction of peak out behavior of unknown substances.

Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are common emitting substances in vehicle interior parts and materials, with a wide range of boiling points (50-250°C) and a polarity range ranging from medium to non-polar, at least 200 species. Currently, VOC sampling mainly uses Tenax TA sorbent for collection, which has good stability and is suitable for weakly polar to non-polar substances between C6-C16. But there are many types of VOC substances, and each substance has its unique characteristics. Tenax TA is not suitable for all substances, and it is not the best sorbent choice for substances with medium polarity or low carbon number. In recent years, the vehicle and indoor environmental standards are open to the selection of sorbent, no longer limiting the type of sorbent sorbent, and more sampling tubes mixed with different sorbent types have emerged to achieve the best sampling results. After summarizing the common emitted substances in the car, this article selects 6 common types of sorbents or mixed sorbents for substance collection, and searches for the optimal sorbent type for each substance.

Simple Summary: With the demand for high-quality poultry products, it is imperative to exploit effective and green feed additives that can stimulate the latent productive capacity of broiler chickens. Numerous studies have shown that essential oils (EOs) are able to maintain intestinal microflora stabilization, improve the digestion and absorption efficiency of intestine, and have effective anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. However, essential oils themselves have many limitations, for example, poor stability and palatability. In this study, we evaluated thymol and carvacrol eutectic (TCE), which was produced using pharmaceutical cocrystal technology in broilers' feed. The results showed that supplementation with TCE in broiler diets can improve growth performance, jejunal morphology, and nutrient absorption and transport capacities, as well as ileal morphology, barrier function, and inflammatory status, which indicates that the bioactive compounds of essential oils treated using pharmaceutical cocrystal technology can play an active role in poultry production. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of diets supplementing with various levels of thymol and carvacrol eutectic (TCE) on growth performance, serum biochemical parameters, intestinal morphology, and the expression of intestinal nutrient absorption, barrier function- and inflammation-related genes in broiler chickens. A total of 640 one-day-old Arbor Acres male broilers with similar body weights were randomly divided into four groups (8 replicates/group, 20 broilers/replicate). Birds in the four experimental groups were fed a basal diet with TCE at 0, 30, 60, or 120 mg/kg. The results showed that the growth performance of birds during 22–42 d or 1–42 d, serum IgE and IgG content at 21 d of age, jejunal and ileal morphology, ileal MUC2, OCLN, and IL-10 mRNA expression were significantly increased compared with the control group (p < 0.05), and the ileal IL-6 mRNA expression quadratically decreased (p < 0.05) with increasing dietary TCE supplemented dosage, and its expression showed a linear downward trend (0.05 < p < 0.1). Meanwhile, compared with the other three groups, birds fed diets with 30 mg/kg TCE presented better (p < 0.05) growth performance, intestinal morphology, and function. Background and Purpose: Chemotherapy‐induced neuropathic pain (CINP) currently has limited effective treatment. Although the roles of oxytocin (OXT) and the oxytocin receptor (OXTR) in central analgesia have been well documented, the expression and function of OXTR in the peripheral nervous system remain unclear. Here, we evaluated the peripheral antinociceptive profiles of OXTR in CINP. Experimental Approach: Paclitaxel (PTX) was used to establish CINP. Quantitative real‐time polymerase chain reaction (qRT‐PCR), in situ hybridization, and immunohistochemistry were used to observe OXTR expression in dorsal root ganglia (DRG). The antinociceptive effects of OXT were assessed by hot‐plate and von Frey tests. Whole‐cell patch clamp was performed to record sodium currents, excitability of DRG neurons, and excitatory synapse transmission. Key Results: Expression of OXTR in DRG neurons was enhanced significantly after PTX treatment. Activation of OXTR exhibited antinociceptive effects, by decreasing the hyperexcitability of DRG neurons in PTX‐treated mice. Additionally, OXTR activation up‐regulated the phosphorylation of protein kinase C (pPKC) and, in turn, impaired voltage‐gated sodium currents, particularly the voltage‐gated sodium channel 1.7 (NaV1.7) current, that plays an indispensable role in PTX‐induced neuropathic pain. OXT suppressed excitatory transmission in the spinal dorsal horn as well as excitatory inputs from primary afferents in PTX‐treated mice. Conclusion and Implications: The OXTR in small‐sized DRG neurons is up‐regulated in CINP and its activation relieved CINP by inhibiting the neural excitability by impairment of NaV1.7 currents via pPKC. Our results suggest that OXTR on peripheral sensory neurons is a potential therapeutic target to relieve CINP. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
