3. Understanding the factors of wearable devices among the patients with thyroid cancer: A modified UTAUT2 model.

Abstract

Wearable devices hold promising prospects on a global scale, including in China. Thyroid cancer prevalence is notably high in China.This purpose of this researchwas to provide an updated theoretical model for assessing Chinese thyroid cancer patients' intentions towards wearable devices, based on the UTAUT2 framework, and to ascertain the factors that have an impact on these intents. A cross-sectional study with an institutional focus wasconducted from January 20, 2023, to June 30, 2023, at several general hospitals in China. Five hundred participants were recruited to identify predictors of wearable device use.The questionnaire survey about patients' intentionswas collected using a face-to-face method, employing a random sampling technique for patient selection. Four hundred sixty-nine individuals (93.8%) had the intention to use wearable devices. The intentions were highly impacted by performance expectancy (PE), effort expectancy (EE), social influence (SI), hedonic motivation (HM), price value (PV) and habit (HA). Usage intention (UI)was a statistically predictor of Usage behavior (UB). The facilitating condition(FC) was not significant. Gender positively moderated the relationship between EE and UI. Income positively moderated the relationship between all variables and UI.Overall, the utilization of wearable devices among patients diagnosed with thyroid cancer has demonstrated considerable potential. 10. Chemical and isotopic characteristics of gabbroic xenoliths from Hannuoba, China

Abstract

Nine pieces of gabbroic xenoliths from Hannuoba were examined for their major and trace elements and Nd, Sr and Pb isotopes. The results show that the gabbroic xenoliths are of more mafic basaltic composition. Their abundances show narrow variations in major elements. The trace element contents are highly variable in contrast with those of host basalts and lherzolite xenoliths. The gabbroic xenoliths are rich in Nd (0.51159–0.51249), Sr (0.70491–0.70768) and low in radiogenic Pb(16.283–17.046, 15.191–15.381 and 36.999-37.476), significantly different from basalts and lherzolites in isotopic space. The calculated Nd and Pb model ages are about 3.0–3.5 Ga. The rocks have relatively low equilibriumT(~850°C) andP (0.8–0.9 GPa). They could be interpreted to be the product of upper mantle melting at the boundary between the lower crust and the upper mantle. Their chemical and isotopic variations can be ascribed to different degrees of melting, segregation and long-term evolution.

12. Prevalence and characteristics of extended-spectrum beta-lactamase-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae isolated from pediatric inpatients with respiratory tract infections at a teaching hospital in China.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence and characteristics of resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates in the pediatric setting in China. A total of 201 non-duplicate K. pneumoniae isolates were obtained from 432 pediatric inpatients suffering from respiratory tract infections. One hundred and thirty-eight K. pneumoniae isolates were determined to be extended-spectrum beta-lactamase-producers. Of all ESBL-producing isolates, 138 (100%) were resistant to piperacillin, ampicillin, cefazolin, and aztreonam, 136 (98.4%) to cefuroxime, 126 (91.2%) to ceftriaxone and co-trimoxazole, 120 (87.4%) to cefoperazone, 91 (65.8%) to ceftazidime, 78 (56.5%) to gentamicin, and 72 (52.4%) to cefepime. TEM was the main type of beta-lactamase among ESBL-producing K. pneumoniae, followed by SHV and CTX-M-1. Of the 30 isolates harboring CTX-M-producers, 53.3% co-produced TEM, 36.7% co-produced SHV, and the remaining isolates co-produced SHV and TEM. The data show that there is a high prevalence of ESBL-producing K. pneumoniae infections among pediatric inpatients in the region. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

13. Trace element geochemistry of Cenozoic volcanic rocks in Shandong Province

Abstract

The Cenozoic volcanic rocks of Shandong Province are mainly alkalic and strongly alkalic basaltic rocks. The contents of major and trace elements including transitional, incompatible and rare-earth elements were determined. The chemical characteristics of major and trace elements indicate that these basaltic rocks were derived from a mantle source and probably represent a primary magma, i. e., unmodified partical melts of mantle peridotite, in terms of Mg values, correlations between P2O5 and Ce, Sr, Ni and Rb concentrations, mantle xenoliths, etc. The abundances of trace elements vary systematically from west to east. The compatible transition elements such as Co, Ni, and Cr show a remarkable depletion, whereas the incompatible and rare-earth elements are abundant as viewed from the chondrite-nor-malized patterns. The chemical composition and correlation are consistent with the tectonic setting.
