The long-term monitoring stability of electronic current transformers is crucial for accurately obtaining the current signal of the power grid. However, it is difficult to accurately distinguish between the fluctuation of non-stationary random signals on the primary side of the power grid and the gradual error of the transformers themselves. A current transformer error prediction model, CNN-MHA-BiLSTM, based on the golden jackal optimization (GJO) algorithm, which is used to obtain the optimal parameter values, bidirectional long short-term memory (BiLSTM) network, convolutional neural networks (CNNs), and multi-head attention (MHA), is proposed to address the difficulty of measuring error evaluation. This model can be used to determine the operation of transformers and can be widely applied to assist in determining the stability of transformer operation and early faults. First, CNN is used to mine the vertical detail features of error data at a certain moment, improving the speed of error prediction. Furthermore, a cascaded network with BiLSTM as the core is constructed to extract the horizontal historical features of the error data. The GJO algorithm is used to adjust the parameters of the BiLSTM model; optimize the hidden layer nodes, training frequency, and learning rate; and integrate MHA mechanism to promote the model to pay attention to the characteristic changes of the data in order to improve the accuracy of error prediction. Finally, this method is applied to the operation data of transformer in substations, and four time periods of data are selected to verify the model effectiveness of the current transformer dataset. In-situ synthesis ZrC and TiC reinforced AlCoCrFeNiTiZr–based high entropy alloy (HEA) coatings were successfully synthesized on R60702 using pulsed–laser cladding. The effects of pulse frequency (5, 50, 500, and 5000 Hz) on microstructure evolution, microhardness, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance were investigated. The results demonstrate that the HEA coatings consists of phases including BCC, HCP, and metal carbides (MC). The phase composition and proportion are influenced by changes in pulse frequency. At pulse frequencies of 5 and 50 Hz, the predominant MC phase is ZrC. As the pulse frequency increases, it transitions to a coexistence of ZrC + TiC before ultimately becoming predominantly TiC. Concurrently, the size of the ceramic phase and the proportion of the HCP phase initially decrease, then increase. A pulse frequency of 500 Hz yields optimizations in microhardness, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance. The favorable mechanical properties are attributed to the synergistic effect of solid solution strengthening, fine crystal strengthening, and ceramic phase strengthening. Background and aims: Staged water shortages and excessive nitrogen application lead to a decline in crop yield, and nitrogen loss, waste of resources and environmental pollution. In order to explore the appropriate water management in humid areas and to determine an efficient nitrogen rates for maize, we conducted the two years' field experiment. Methods: We conducted a field experiment (2020–2021), with five nitrogen rates N0, N150, N200, N250, N300 (0, 150, 200, 250, 300 kg ha−1) under different water conditions (rainfed conditions and irrigated conditions). Results: Consequently, under the irrigated conditions, the soil organic matter (SOM), microbial biomass carbon (MBC), dry matter accumulation and grain yield were significantly (P < 0.05) increased by 8.06%, 15.50%, 11.43% and 13.86%, respectively, compared with the rainfed conditions. And the total nitrogen (TN), nitrate nitrogen (NO3−-N), ammonia nitrogen (NH4+-N) decreased significantly by 4.38%, 8.28%, 13.21%, respectively. Furthermore, compared with other nitrogen rates, N250 and N300 combined with irrigated conditions significantly (P < 0.05) increased soil carbon and nitrogen content, dry matter accumulation and grain yield. However, N250 and N300 displayed no significant difference (P > 0.05) in TN, NO3−-N, NH4+-N, SOM, MBC, dry matter accumulation and grain yield. Moreover, under the irrigated conditions, when the nitrogen rates increased more than 250 kg ha−1, the nitrogen use efficiency decreased. Conclusion: Application of nitrogen rates of 250 kg ha−1 under irrigated conditions is the best choice to increase grain yield, improve nitrogen use efficiency, and ensure safe and efficient production in maize. In this paper, we investigate the global well-posedness for the 3D Boussinesq equations. Firstly, we prove the global existence and uniqueness of the solution in critical space for small initial data. Then, aimed at the large initial data giving rise to global solution, we obtain a certain class of large solutions with initial data slowly varying in one direction. Many previous works studied the dynamical time-scale mass transfer stability criteria based on the donor response with neglecting the stellar structure of the accretor. In this letter, we investigate the radial response of accretors with mass accumulation and its effect on the binary mass transfer stability. We perform a series of detailed stellar evolution simulations with different types of accretors and obtain the radial variations of stars accreting at different rates. Since the time within which the donor loses half of the original mass has a correlation with the donor mass, we approximately obtain the mean mass transfer rate as a function of mass ratio. Assuming that the common envelope (CE) phase occurs if the accretor radius exceeds the outer Roche lobe radius, we obtain the critical mass ratio of dynamically unstable mass transfer. We find the critical mass ratios for donors filling their Roche lobes at the Main Sequence (MS) and Hertzsprung Gap (HG) stages are smaller than that derived from the radial response of the donor in the traditional way. Our results may suggest that the binary is easier to enter into the CE phase for a donor star at the MS or HG stage than previously believed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Physiochemical tissue inducers and mechanical stimulation are both efficient variables in cartilage tissue fabrication and regeneration. In the presence of biomolecules, decellularized extracellular matrix (ECM) may trigger and enhance stem cell proliferation and differentiation. Here, we investigated the controlled release of transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β1) as an active mediator of mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) in a biocompatible scaffold and mechanical stimulation for cartilage tissue engineering. ECM-derived hydrogel with TGF-β1-loaded alginate-based microspheres (MSs) was created to promote human MSC chondrogenic development. Ex vivo explants and a complicated multiaxial loading bioreactor replicated the physiological conditions. Hydrogels with/without MSs and TGF-β1 were highly cytocompatible. MSCs in ECM-derived hydrogel containing TGF-β1/MSs showed comparable chondrogenic gene expression levels as those hydrogels with TGF-β1 added in culture media or those without TGF-β1. However, constructs with TGF-β1 directly added within the hydrogel had inferior properties under unloaded conditions. The ECM-derived hydrogel group including TGF-β1/MSs under loading circumstances formed better cartilage matrix in an ex vivo osteochondral defect than control settings. This study demonstrates that controlled local delivery of TGF-β1 using MSs and mechanical loading is essential for neocartilage formation by MSCs and that further optimization is needed to prevent MSC differentiation towards hypertrophy. Low test-taking effort of examinees has been considered a source of construct-irrelevant variance in item response modeling, leading to serious consequences on parameter estimation. This study aims to investigate how non-effortful response (NER) influences the estimation of item and person parameters in item-pool scale linking (IPSL) and whether differential NER for two groups has a different effect on parameter estimation under the equivalent and non-equivalent group designs. Three simulation studies and an empirical study were conducted to answer these research questions. Results show that NER on items in a certain item set (e.g. common new items, exclusive new items) have a dominant negative effect on parameter estimation of items from the same item set, while NER on items from the item pool would seriously impact the accuracy of ability parameters. Global marine gravity anomaly models are predominantly recovered from along-track radar altimeter data. While remarkable advancements has been achieved in gravity anomaly modelling, the quality of gravity anomaly model remains constrained by the absence of across-track geoid gradients and the reduction of radar altimeter data, particularly in coastal and high-latitudes regions. ICESat-2 laser altimetry operates three-pair laser beams with a small footprint and near-polar orbit, enabling the determination of across-track geoid gradients and providing more valid observations in certain regions. The ICESat-2 altimeter data processing method is presented including the determination of across-track geoid gradients and the combination of along/across-track geoid gradients. A new global marine gravity model, SDUST2022GRA, is recovered from radar and laser altimeter data using different method for determining each altimeter data error. The accuracy and spatial resolution of SDUST2022GRA is assessed by published global gravity anomaly models (DTU17, V32.1, NSOAS22) and available shipborne gravity measurements. The accuracy of SDUST2022GRA is 4.43 mGal on a global scale, which is at least 0.22 mGal better than that of others models. Moreover, in local coastal and high-latitude regions, SDUST2022GRA achieves an accuracy improvement of 0.16–0.24 mGal compared to others models. The spatial resolution of SDUST2022GRA is approximately 20 km in a certain region, slightly better superior others models. These assessments suggests that SDUST2022GRA is a reliable global marine gravity anomaly model. By comparing SDUST2022GRA with incorporating ICESat-2 and SDUST2021GRA without ICESat-2, the percentage contribution of ICESat-2 to the improvement of gravity anomaly model accuracy is 13 % in the global ocean region, and it is increasing with an proportion of ICESat-2 altimeter data in high-latitude and coastal regions. The cyclic guanosine monophosphate (GMP)-adenosine monophosphate (AMP) synthase-stimulator of interferon genes (cGAS-STING) signaling pathway, an important component of the innate immune system, is involved in the development of several diseases. Ectopic DNA-induced inflammatory responses are involved in several pathological processes. Repeated damage to tissues and metabolic organelles releases a large number of damage-associated molecular patterns (mitochondrial DNA, nuclear DNA, and exogenous DNA). The DNA fragments released into the cytoplasm are sensed by the sensor cGAS to initiate immune responses through the bridging protein STING. Many recent studies have revealed a regulatory role of the cGAS-STING signaling pathway in cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) such as myocardial infarction, heart failure, atherosclerosis, and aortic dissection/aneurysm. Furthermore, increasing evidence suggests that inhibiting the cGAS-STING signaling pathway can significantly inhibit myocardial hypertrophy and inflammatory cell infiltration. Therefore, this review is intended to identify risk factors for activating the cGAS-STING pathway to reduce risks and to simultaneously further elucidate the biological function of this pathway in the cardiovascular field, as well as its potential as a therapeutic target. A taxane 2‐O‐benzoyltransferase (mTBT, derived from Accession: AF297618) biocatalyzed the dearoylation and rearoylation of next‐generation taxane precursors of drugs effective against multidrug‐resistant cancer cells. Various taxanes bearing an acyl, hydroxyl, or oxo group at C13 were screened to assess their turnover by mTBT catalysis. The 13‐oxotaxanes were the most productive, where 2‐O‐debenzoylation of 13‐oxobaccatin III was turned over faster compared to 13‐oxo‐10‐O‐(n‐propanoyl)‐10‐O‐deacetylbaccatin III and 13‐oxo‐10‐O‐(cyclopropane carbonyl)‐10‐O‐deacetylbaccatin III, yielding ~20 mg of each. mTBT catalysis was likely affected by an intramolecular hydrogen bond with the C13−hydroxyl. Oxidation to the 13‐oxo recovered catalysis. The experimental data for the debenzoylation reaction was supported by Gaussian‐accelerated molecular dynamics simulations that evaluated the conformational changes caused by different functional groups at C13 of the substrate. These findings also helped postulate where the 2‐O‐benzoylation reaction occurs on the paclitaxel pathway in nature. mTBT rearoylated the debenzoylated 13‐oxobaccatin III acceptors fastest with a non‐natural 3‐fluorobenzoyl CoA among the other aroyl CoA thioesters evaluated, yielding ~10 mg of each with excellent regioselectivity at laboratory scale. Motivation Accurately predicting molecular metabolic stability is of great significance to drug research and development, ensuring drug safety and effectiveness. Existing deep learning methods, especially graph neural networks, can reveal the molecular structure of drugs and thus efficiently predict the metabolic stability of molecules. However, most of these methods focus on the message passing between adjacent atoms in the molecular graph, ignoring the relationship between bonds. This makes it difficult for these methods to estimate accurate molecular representations, thereby being limited in molecular metabolic stability prediction tasks. Results We propose the MS-BACL model based on bond graph augmentation technology and contrastive learning strategy, which can efficiently and reliably predict the metabolic stability of molecules. To our knowledge, this is the first time that bond-to-bond relationships in molecular graph structures have been considered in the task of metabolic stability prediction. We build a bond graph based on 'atom-bond-atom', and the model can simultaneously capture the information of atoms and bonds during the message propagation process. This enhances the model's ability to reveal the internal structure of the molecule, thereby improving the structural representation of the molecule. Furthermore, we perform contrastive learning training based on the molecular graph and its bond graph to learn the final molecular representation. Multiple sets of experimental results on public datasets show that the proposed MS-BACL model outperforms the state-of-the-art model. Purpose: This study aims to design and validate a theoretical model for capacitive imaging (CI) sensors that incorporates the interelectrode shielding and surrounding shielding electrodes. Through experimental verification, the effectiveness of the theoretical model in evaluating CI sensors equipped with shielding electrodes has been demonstrated. Design/methodology/approach: The study begins by incorporating the interelectrode shielding and surrounding shielding electrodes of CI sensors into the theoretical model. A method for deriving the semianalytical model is proposed, using the renormalization group method and physical model. Based on random geometric parameters of CI sensors, capacitance values are calculated using both simulation models and theoretical models. Three different types of CI sensors with varying geometric parameters are designed and manufactured for experimental testing. Findings: The study's results indicate that the errors of the semianalytical model for the CI sensor are predominantly below 5%, with all errors falling below 10%. This suggests that the semianalytical model, derived using the renormalization group method, effectively evaluates CI sensors equipped with shielding electrodes. The experimental results demonstrate the efficacy of the theoretical model in accurately predicting the capacitance values of the CI sensors. Originality/value: The theoretical model of CI sensors is described by incorporating the interelectrode shielding and surrounding shielding electrodes into the model. In order to efficiently and accurately control coal dust pollution in coal mining faces, this study addresses the insufficient research on the dust generation mechanism during cutting. Firstly, a similar experimental platform for simulating coal wall cutting with a drum cutter was used to investigate the changes in coal wall fragmentation and dust generation at drum speeds of 35 r/min, 50 r/min, 65 r/min, and 80 r/min. The experimental results revealed that the degree of coal wall fragmentation and dust generation increased with the increase in rotational speed, leading to a wider range of particle size distribution and an increase in the generation of fine dust particles. A 1:1 scale discrete element simulation of coal wall cutting with a drum cutter was conducted based on the experiments. The results indicated that, under the four rotational speeds, the cracks generated during coal wall fracture were predominantly tensile cracks, accounting for over 76% of the total crack count. The total number of cracks increased from 10,600 to 11,200, the number of free single particles increased from 2555 to 2728, and the fragmentation volume increased from 0.021607 to 0.023024 m3. A three-dimensional helix geometry unit cell is established to simulate the complex spatial configuration of 3D braided composites. Initially, different types of yarn factors, such as yarn path, cross-sectional shape, properties, and braid direction, are explained. Then, the multiphase finite element method is used to develop a new theoretical calculation procedure based on the unit cell for predicting the impacts of environmental temperature on the thermophysical properties of 3D four-direction carbon/epoxy braided composites. The changing rule and distribution characteristics of the thermophysical properties for 3D four-direction carbon/epoxy braided composites are obtained at temperatures ranging from room temperature to 200 °C. The influences of environmental temperature on the coefficients of thermal expansion (CTE) and the coefficients of thermal conduction (CTC) are evaluated, by which some important conclusions are drawn. A comparison is conducted between theoretical and experimental results, revealing that variations in temperature exert a notable influence on the thermophysical characteristics of 3D four-directional carbon/epoxy braided composites. The instantaneous frequency (IF) is an important feature for the analysis of nonstationary signals. For IF estimation, the time–frequency representation (TFR)-based algorithm is used in a common class of methods. TFR-based methods always need the representation concentrated around the "true" IFs and the number of components within the signal. In this paper, we propose a novel method to adaptively estimate the IFs of nonstationary signals, even for weak components of the signals. The proposed technique is not based on the TFR: it is based on the frequency estimation operator (FEO), and the short-time Fourier transform (STFT) is used as its basis. As we know, the FRO is an exact estimation of the IF for weak frequency-modulated (FM) signals, but is not appropriate for strong FM modes. Through theoretical derivation, we determine that the fixed points of the FEOwith respect to the frequency are equivalent to the ridge of the STFT spectrum. Furthermore, the IF of the linear chirp signals is just the fixed points of the FEO. Therefore, we apply the fixed-point algorithm to the FEO to realize the precise and reliable estimation of the IF, even for highly FM signals. Finally, the results using synthetic and real signals show the utility of the proposed method for IF estimation and that it is more robust than the compared method. It should be noted that the proposed method employing the FEO only computes the first-order differential of the STFT for the chirp-like signals, while it can provide a result derived using the second-order estimation operator. Background: Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are known environmental contaminants with immunosuppressive properties. Their connection to rheumatoid arthritis (RA), a condition influenced by the immune system, is not well studied. This research explores the association between PFAS exposure and RA prevalence. Methods: This research utilized data from the NHANES, encompassing a sample of 10,496 adults from the 2003–2018 cycles, focusing on serum levels of several PFAS. The presence of RA was determined based on self-reports. This study used multivariable logistic regression to assess the relationship between individual PFAS and RA risk, adjusting for covariates to calculate odds ratios (ORs). The combined effects of PFAS mixtures were evaluated using BKMR, WQS regression, and quantile g-computation. Additionally, sex-specific associations were explored through stratified analysis. Results: Higher serum PFOA (OR = 0.88, 95% CI: 0.79, 0.98), PFHxS (OR = 0.91, 95% CI: 0.83, 1.00), PFNA (OR = 0.87, 95% CI: 0.77, 0.98), and PFDA (OR = 0.89, 95% CI: 0.81, 0.99) concentration was related to lower odds of RA. Sex-specific analysis in single chemical models indicated the significant inverse associations were only evident in females. BKMR did not show an obvious pattern of RA estimates across PFAS mixture. The outcomes of sex-stratified quantile g-computation demonstrated that an increase in PFAS mixture was associated with a decreased odds of RA in females (OR: 0.76, 95% CI: 0.62, 0.92). We identified a significant interaction term of the WQS*sex in the 100 repeated hold out WQS analysis. Notably, a higher concentration of the PFAS mixture was significantly associated with reduced odds of RA in females (mean OR = 0.93, 95% CI: 0.88, 0.98). Conclusions: This study indicates potential sex-specific associations of exposure to various individual PFAS and their mixtures with RA. Notably, the observed inverse relationships were statistically significant in females but not in males. Time–frequency analysis is an important tool used for the processing and interpretation of non-stationary signals, such as seismic data and remote sensing data. In this paper, based on the novel short-time fractional Fourier transform (STFRFT), a new modified STFRFT is first proposed which can also generalize the properties of the modified short-time Fourier transform (STFT). Then, in the modified STFRFT domain, we derive the instantaneous frequency estimator for the chirp signal and present a new type of synchrosqueezing STFRFT (FRSST). The proposed FRSST presents many results similar to those of the synchrosqueezing STFT (FSST), and it extends the harmonic signal to a chirp signal that offers attractive new features. Furthermore, we provide a detailed analysis of the signal reconstruction, theories, and some properties of the proposed FRSST. Several experiments are conducted, and all of the results illustrate that the proposed FRSST is more effective than the FSST. In this work, an inelastic neutron scattering system was developed for element analysis in limestone with a D–T neutron generator and a 3*3 inch LaBr3 detector. Six sets of simulated limestone samples were prepared by proportionally mixing high-purity CaCO3, SiO2, and MgO powders and measured in situ with Inelastic Neutron Scattering (INS) facility. Empirical mode decomposition (EMD) technique is used for noise reduction and filtering of the original gamma energy spectrum. The energy window method was used for quantitative analysis. The minimum detection limits for Ca, Si, and Mg in the samples were determined to be 0.019%, 0.021%, and 0.026%, respectively. The present investigation reports the variations of the microstructure and electrical properties due to a change in the ZnSb2O6 content of ZnO varistors. The impact of the ZnSb2O6 additive on both microstructure and electrical properties in ZnO varistors is studied via the X‐ray diffraction (XRD) and an impedance analyzer. Zn7Sb2O12 spinel phase and single hexagonal ZnO phase are detected in ZnO varistors with the addition of ZnSb2O6. The ZnO varistors with 5 mol% ZnSb2O6 have the highest nonlinear coefficient (43.2) and the lowest leakage current density (3.96 A cm−2). The resistivity of grain boundary ρgb increases continuously with the increasing content of ZnSb2O6 as demonstrated by impedance measurements. Additionally, low values of dielectric loss at high frequencies suggest a ZnO varistor doped with ZnSb2O6 is suitable for high frequency device applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aging population and increasing prevalence of diseases among younger individuals have heightened the pressing demand for wearable health monitoring devices among the general public. In comparison to self‐health monitoring at physical signal level, wearable biochemical monitoring can provide more comprehensive and insightful information regarding one's own health status. Wearable sweat‐sensing technologies hold great potential for non‐invasive and continuous biochemical monitoring, and have emerged as a focal point of wearable health monitoring research. The effective management of sweat, encompassing convenient induction, reliable collection, and efficient flow control and storage, is fundamental in wearable sweat sensing. To elucidate the research progression in these aspects, this review first summarizes sweat secretion mechanisms, induction method, and sampling mode. Additionally, detailed summaries and discussion on sweat sampling and transport modes are provided. Furthermore, within the context of epidermal microfluidics, the technologies on sweat flow control and storage management based on microvalves are discussed. Aims: Nitrogen deficiency in eco-engineered technosol from iron (Fe) ore tailings limits the productivity of colonising soil microbes and pioneer plants, which are critical to further development of the technosol. Symbiotic biological N2 fixation may be a strategy to supply N in the moderately alkaline early technosols since native legumes such as Acacia auriculiformis are tolerant of saline and alkaline soil conditions as those in the technosol. It is hypothesized that tolerant native legume A. auriculiformis could form functional nodules to fix N2 when grown in early eco-engineered technosols. Methods: A. auriculiformis growth and root nodulation in the early tailing technosols were investigated using a glasshouse experiment, and plant N2 fixation was evaluated using the 15 N natural abundance isotope method. Key factors influencing root nodulation and N2 fixation have also been evaluated, including water supply and phosphorous nutrition. Results: The results indicated that A. auriculiformis grew well in the tailing technosols and naturally formed nodules with rhizobia. The nodules were functional in N2 fixation, leading to improved plant N nutrition. The nodulation and N2 fixation were severely limited by water deficiency stress. Improved phosphorous supply favoured nodulation and N2 fixation by A. auriculiformis plants under water deficiency stress. Conclusions: These findings suggested that A. auriculiformis could grow in early tailings technosols and fixed N2, and proper water and phosphorous fertilizer management could improve Acacia plant's performance and N2 fixation functions. Pittosporum (Pittosporaceae) is famous as the ornamental and medical values, which is distributed tropical and subtropical regions of Eastern Hemisphere. The few phylogenetic studies have included samples from the Pacific Island, but the phylogenetic relationships of Asian species has not been studied. Here, the complete chloroplast (cp) genomes of ten Pittosporum species from East Asia were first sequenced and compared with those of the published species of this genus. Our results indicated that cp genomes of these species had a typical and conserved quadripartite structure. 131 genes were identical in order and orientation and no changes of inverted repeat (IR) occurred. However, the comparative analysis of cp genomes suggested that sequence divergence mainly appeared in non-coding or intergenic regions, in which several divergence hotspots were identified. By contrast, protein-coding genes showed the lowest variance under strong purifying selection. Phylogenetic analysis based on the cp genome sequences showed that the tested Pittosporum species were clustered into two major clades, in which the Asian species formed Clade I and the remaining species from Australia and New Zealand formed Clade II with high support values, which was consistent with the results of ITS data with low support values. These results suggested that cp genome is a robust phylogenetic indicator for deep nodes in the phylogeny of Pittosporum. Understanding the nature of dark matter is among the top priorities of modern physics. However, due to its inertness, detecting and studying it directly in terrestrial experiments is extremely challenging. Numerical N -body simulations currently represent the best approach for studying the particle properties and phase-space distribution, assuming the collisionless nature of dark matter. These simulations also address the lack of a satisfactory theory for predicting the universal properties of dark matter haloes, including the density profile and velocity distribution. In this work, we propose a new phenomenological model for the dark matter phase-space distribution. This model aims to provide an Navarro–Frenk–White-like density profile, velocity magnitude distribution, and velocity component distributions that align closely with simulation data. Our model is relevant both for theoretical modelling of dark matter distributions, and for underground detector experiments that rely on the dark matter velocity distribution for experimental analysis. Surface flashover is an inevitable insulation issue for basin-type insulators in gas-insulated switchgears/lines, which significantly challenges the reliability of the electrical power systems. Previous studies have indicated that polymer/semiconductor-filler composite coatings effectively improve the insulation properties; however, the influence mechanism of the coating materials on flashover has not been demonstrated from a molecular perspective. In this work, epoxy/silicon-carbide (EP/SiC) composites were coated onto an EP substrate. The energy-level structure, surface trap, surface charging, and DC flashover voltage in SF6/N2 were calculated and characterized, and the process by which the tailored molecular energy level influences surface charge transport and flashover characteristics was elucidated. The incorporating of SiC particles reduced the width of the bandgap and introduced shallow traps, which improved carrier mobility and surface conductivity. Quantitative analysis of charge transport indicated that the improved carrier mobility and reduced surface trap level accelerated the surface charge dissipation. This reduced the tangential electrical field distortion and surface charge density and further impeded gas ionization. When the SiC concentration was 15 wt%, the flashover performance improved by 20.88%. This study describes the mechanism by which the EP/SiC coating regulates the surface charge distribution to improve the surface flashover performance by establishing a relationship among the microscopic molecular energy-level structures, mesoscopic charge transport, and macroscopic discharge phenomena. EZH2 is the catalytic subunit of the histone methyltransferase Polycomb Repressive Complex 2 (PRC2), and its somatic activating mutations drive lymphoma, particularly the germinal center B‐cell type. Although PRC2 inhibitors, such as tazemetostat, have demonstrated anti‐lymphoma activity in patients, the clinical efficacy is not limited to EZH2‐mutant lymphoma. In this study, Activin A Receptor Type 1 (ACVR1), a type I Bone Morphogenetic Protein (BMP) receptor, is identified as critical for the anti‐lymphoma efficacy of PRC2 inhibitors through a whole‐genome CRISPR screen. BMP6, BMP7, and ACVR1 are repressed by PRC2‐mediated H3K27me3, and PRC2 inhibition upregulates their expression and signaling in cell and patient‐derived xenograft models. Through BMP‐ACVR1 signaling, PRC2 inhibitors robustly induced cell cycle arrest and B cell lineage differentiation in vivo. Remarkably, blocking ACVR1 signaling using an inhibitor or genetic depletion significantly compromised the in vitro and in vivo efficacy of PRC2 inhibitors. Furthermore, high levels of BMP6 and BMP7, along with ACVR1, are associated with longer survival in lymphoma patients, underscoring the clinical relevance of this study. In this paper, we consider the hydrodynamic stability of the 2D Navier-Stokes equations on T × R around Poiseuille-Couette flow V = (y 2 , 0) + a (y , 0) with a ∈ (0 , 1). By means of the hypocoercivity method with time dependent weights and introducing a new estimate on the energy functional, we establish the enhanced dissipation estimates for the linearized Navier-Stokes equations. More precisely, for a ⩽ 10 − 3 ν 1 4 , we obtain a decay rate proportional to ν 1 2 , which is consistent with the Poiseuille flow. For a = 10 − 3 ν s with s ∈ [ 0 , 1 4 ] , the decay rate is proportional to ν 1 − 2 s. As an application of the linear estimates, we obtain the result of nonlinear stability transition threshold. As mitochondrial damage or dysfunction is commonly observed following burn injuries, we investigated whether mitochondrial transplantation (MT) can result in therapeutic benefits in the treatment of burns. Human immortalized epidermal cells (HaCaT) and Kunming mice were used to establish a heat-injured cell model and a deep partial-thickness skin burn animal model, respectively. The cell model was established by exposing HaCaT cells to 45 or 50 °C for 10 min, after which cell proliferation was assayed using fluorescent double-staining and colony formation assays, cell migration was assessed using colloidal gold migration and scratch assays, and cell cycle progression and apoptosis were measured by flow cytometry. Histopathological staining, immunohistochemistry, nick-end labeling analysis, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays were used to evaluate the effects of MT on inflammation, tissue recovery, apoptosis, and scar growth in a mouse model. The therapeutic effects were observed in the heat-injured HaCaT cell model. MT promoted cell viability, colony formation, proliferation, and migration; decreased G1 phase; promoted cell division; and decreased apoptosis. Wound-healing promotion, anti-inflammation (decreased mast cell aggregation, down-regulated of TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, and up-regulated IL-10), acceleration of proliferation recovery (up-regulated CD34 and VEGF), apoptosis reduction, and scar formation reduction (decreased collagen I/III ratio and TGF-β1) were observed in the MT mouse model. Hyperspectral anomaly detection is used to recognize unusual patterns or anomalies in hyperspectral data. Currently, many spectral–spatial detection methods have been proposed with a cascaded manner; however, they often neglect the complementary characteristics between the spectral and spatial dimensions, which easily leads to yield high false alarm rate. To alleviate this issue, a spectral–spatial information fusion (SSIF) method is designed for hyperspectral anomaly detection. First, an isolation forest is exploited to obtain spectral anomaly map, in which the object-level feature is constructed with an entropy rate segmentation algorithm. Then, a local spatial saliency detection scheme is proposed to produce the spatial anomaly result. Finally, the spectral and spatial anomaly scores are integrated together followed by a domain transform recursive filtering to generate the final detection result. Experiments on five hyperspectral datasets covering ocean and airport scenes prove that the proposed SSIF produces superior detection results over other state-of-the-art detection techniques. Building footprint information is crucial for comprehending global urban development processes. Deep learning algorithms have shown significant potential in building extraction from high spatial resolution imagery. However, the requirement for large-scale annotated data has been a limitation for applying deep learning methods to city-level or national-level building mapping. The dynamic change and distinct landscape variation of cities in different geographic locations further emphasizes the need for automatic building footprint extraction. In this paper, we propose a Self-supervised Knowledge Transfer (SKTrans) framework for extracting building footprints from unlabeled remote sensing images over large areas. To address building tone differences cross regions and time periods, a tone shift mechanism is introduced to reduce the contrast, brightness, and saturation differences between buildings. Furthermore, considering building style diversity across different cities, a knowledge integration module is proposed to develop a comprehensive depiction including tonal differences, multi-scale variance, structural attributes and semantic confusion between roads and buildings. The effectiveness of SKTrans is demonstrated on three public datasets of WHU, Massachusetts, and Inria. To further evaluate the feasibility of large-scale mapping for automatic building footprint, global generalization experiments cross regions and time periods, which is based on imagery from five countries of different continents were implemented. The comprehensive results demonstrate that SKTrans surpasses existing state-of-the-art methods, supporting the time-series city-level building mapping without labeled dataset. Additionally, the architectural landscape pattern changes can be quantitatively analyzed based on the generalization results to facilitate sustainable urban development. Imbalanced domain prediction analysis is currently one of the hot research topics. Many real‐world data mining analyses involve using imbalanced data to obtain predictive models. In the context of imbalance, research on classification problems has been extensive, but research on regression problems is negligible. Rare values rarely occur in imbalanced regression problems, but the focus is on accurately predicting the continuous target variables of rare instances. One of the challenges in imbalanced regression is finding a suitable strategy to rebalance the original dataset in order to improve the predictive performance of the model in rare instances. In this study, two algorithms are proposed: sigma nearest over‐sampling based on convex combination for regression (SNOCCR) and affine combination‐based over‐sampling (ACOS). ACOS rebalances the original dataset by generating new instances through the affine combinations of the original examples. The region where the new instances are generated can be adjusted based on the distribution of the data, ensuring that the generated cases better mimic the distribution of the original examples. The comparison among ACOS, SNOCCR, and other preprocessing methods was conducted on 15 datasets to validate the predictive performance of models trained on rebalanced datasets for rare instances. The experimental results indicate that ACOS outperforms other existing methods. While English as a medium of instruction (EMI) is becoming a global phenomenon across higher education contexts, little attention has been paid to the instructional experiences of EMI teachers. Informed by a spatial perspective, this study explored how a cohort of Chinese university teachers navigated their EMI instructional settings. Different from the conventional discourse that depicts EMI teachers as deficit due to their being nonnative speakers of English, this study shows that the teachers were able to capitalise on their spatial repertoires for alternative ways of meaning making in their EMI classrooms. Instead of reducing EMI into an English-only space, the findings show that the teachers constructed EMI as three major spaces, including a space for drawing upon local experiences as spatial resources, a space for redefining internationalisation, and a space for translingual pedagogy practice. Through the construction of these spaces, the teachers reclaimed their legitimacy of being EMI teachers. The findings lend further support to refute the monolingual bias in EMI practice and call for attention to how EMI teachers can act as agents in reconstructing EMI instructional settings as spaces for multilingual and multimodal meaning making. This paper proposes a synthetical multi-degree-of-freedom mathematical modelling for analyzing the dynamic characteristics of angular contact ball bearing with waviness subjected to the external load working conditions. The above multi-degree-of-freedom mathematical modelling is established based on nonlinear elastic Hertz contact theory and inner raceway control theory by employing improved Newton–Raphson iteration method; the validation of the established mathematical modelling is verified by comparing the presented results with the existing literature results. The above mathematical modelling has considered raceway waviness, ball waviness, bearing clearance, centrifugal force, gyroscopic moment, external loads, and rotating speed comprehensively. Firstly, the effects of waviness order and waviness amplitude on time-varying contact and stiffness characteristics of angular contact ball bearing are investigated systematically. Then, the influences of bearing clearance, rotating speed, axial force, radial force, and torque on the dynamic contact and stiffness characteristics of angular contact ball bearing with waviness are analyzed thoroughly. The main results show that the solution results of mathematical modelling have converged, respectively, when raceway waviness order increases to 25 and ball waviness order increases to 5; The variation tendencies of time-varying contact angle, contact force, and stiffness of angular contact ball bearing with waviness are aperiodic; The amplitudes of time-varying contact angle, contact force, and stiffness of angular contact ball bearing increase evidently with waviness amplitude increased; The bearing clearance has important influence on the contact angle and contact force of outer raceway and inner raceway, respectively; The effects of radial force and torque on contact and stiffness characteristics are consistent basically in the corresponding direction; The influences of axial force and rotating speed on the contact and stiffness characteristics are more remarkable compared with other factors. Cyber-physical systems (CPS) are complex systems that can be understood as a hybrid system, a real-time system with probabilistic behavior, and a concurrent system. With the increasing use of CPS, there is a growing demand for higher reliability and performance. Additionally, the large amount of information in CPS requires processing, exacerbating the state space explosion problem caused by model checking methods used for the quantitative evaluation of CPS. Therefore, evaluating the functionality, performance, and reliability of CPS is not only an important research topic but also an inevitable challenge. This paper aims to establish a comprehensive and efficient CPS performance model and a quantitative evaluation method and proposes solutions to existing problems based on the specific practical application environment of the system. First, we extend the labeled transition system (LTS) and propose a hybrid probability time cost transition system (HPTCTS) that provides a detailed description of the continuous behavior, probabilistic behavior, time characteristics, and performance of CPS. Furthermore, we propose HPTCTS temporal logic (HPTCTS-TL) to describe the performance characteristic of HPTCTS. To alleviate the state space explosion problem when quantitatively evaluating the HPTCTS model, we propose the corresponding quantitative evaluation algorithm based on symbolic model checking. Finally, we discuss a typical example of CPS to demonstrate the feasibility of our approach. Overall, our work contributes to a better understanding of CPS and provides a more effective and comprehensive way to evaluate CPS performance, which is crucial for the successful development and deployment of CPS in real-world applications. A surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) method for measuring nitrate nitrogen in aquaculture water was developed using a substrate of β-cyclodextrin-modified gold nanoparticles (SH-β-CD@AuNPs). Addressing the issues of low sensitivity, narrow linear range, and relatively poor selectivity of single metal nanoparticles in the SERS detection of nitrate nitrogen, we combined metal nanoparticles with cyclodextrin supramolecular compounds to prepare a AuNPs substrate enveloped by cyclodextrin, which exhibits ultra-high selectivity and Raman activity. Subsequently, vanadium(III) chloride was used to convert nitrate ions into nitrite ions. The adsorption mechanism between the reaction product benzotriazole (BTAH) of o-phenylenediamine (OPD) and nitrite ions on the SH-β-CD@AuNPs substrate was studied through SERS, achieving the simultaneous detection of nitrate nitrogen and nitrite nitrogen. The experimental results show that BTAH exhibits distinct SERS characteristic peaks at 1168, 1240, 1375, and 1600 cm−1, with the lowest detection limits of 3.33 × 10−2, 5.84 × 10−2, 2.40 × 10−2, and 1.05 × 10−2 μmol/L, respectively, and a linear range of 0.1–30.0 μmol/L. A mechanism of the heavy quark dominance in the orbital excitation is proposed in this paper which is testified to be reasonable for singly and doubly heavy baryons. In the relativistic quark model, an analysis of the Hamiltonian figures out the mechanism that the excitation mode with lower energy levels is always associated with the heavy quark(s), and the splitting of the energy levels is suppressed by the heavy quark(s). So, the heavy quarks dominate the orbital excitation of singly and doubly heavy baryons. Furthermore, a physical understanding of this mechanism is given in a semi-classical way. Accordingly, the predicted mass spectra of singly and doubly heavy baryons confirm the rationality of this mechanism. In addition, an interesting consequence of this mechanism is that a heavy-light meson is more likely to be produced in the strong decay of the high-orbital excited states, which is supported by experiments. This mechanism is rooted in the breakdown of the mass symmetry. Aims: Hepatic ischemia–reperfusion injury (HIRI) resulting from hepatic inflow occlusion, which is a common procedure in liver surgery is inevitable. Previous research has confirmed that the cognitive dysfunction induced by HIRI is closely related to dysbiosis of the gut microbiota. This research aims to investigate the mechanisms underlying this complication. Methods: C57BL/6 mice underwent hepatic ischemia experimentally through the occlusion of the left hepatic artery and portal vein. To assess the HDAC2‐ACSS2 axis, gut microbiota transplantation. Enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assay and LC/MS short‐chain fatty acid detection were utilized. Results: The findings indicated a notable decline in ACSS2 expression in the hippocampus of mice experiencing hepatic ischemia–reperfusion injury, emphasizing the compromised acetate metabolism in this particular area. Furthermore, the cognitive impairment phenotype and the dysregulation of the HDAC2‐ACSS2 axis could also be transmitted to germ‐free mice via fecal microbial transplantation. Enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assay revealed reduced Acetyl‐coenzyme A (acetyl‐CoA) and Acetylated lysine levels in the hippocampus. Introduction: Neonatal stress disrupts brain development and increases the risk of neurological disorders later in life. However, the impact of neonatal stress on the development of the glymphatic system and susceptibility to Parkinson's disease (PD) remains largely unknown. Methods: Neonatal maternal deprivation (NMD) was performed on mice for 14 consecutive days to model chronic neonatal stress. Adeno‐associated virus expressing A53T‐α‐synuclein (α‐syn) was injected into the substantia nigra to establish PD model mice. Glymphatic activity was determined using in vivo magnetic resonance imaging, ex vivo fluorescence imaging and microplate assay. The transcription and expression of aquaporin‐4 (AQP4) and other molecules were evaluated by qPCR, western blotting, and immunofluorescence. Animal's responses to NMD and α‐syn overexpression were observed using behavioral tests. Results: Glymphatic activity was impaired in adult NMD mice. AQP4 polarization and platelet‐derived growth factor B (PDGF‐B) signaling were reduced in the frontal cortex and hippocampus of both young and adult NMD mice. Furthermore, exogenous α‐syn accumulation was increased and PD‐like symptoms were aggravated in adult NMD mice. Conclusion: The results demonstrated that NMD could disrupt the development of the glymphatic system through PDGF‐B signaling and increase the risk of PD later in life, indicating that alleviating neonatal stress could be beneficial in protecting the glymphatic system and reducing susceptibility to neurodegeneration. We conducted numerical simulations and model experiments to investigate vortex motion characteristics in the vaneless space and runner passage of pump-turbines operating within the S-shaped region, along with an analysis of pressure pulsation characteristics. The accuracy of these simulations was validated through laser Doppler velocimetry experiments, and particle image velocimetry experiments were used to capture vortex motion in the vaneless space. We observed that vortices generated on the guide vane side follow the flow direction, blocking the guide vane passage, while those generated by runner blades move in the opposite direction. Employing an entropy production theory and the Liutex method, we investigated vortex distribution and hydraulic loss in the S-shaped region. The results show that reduced flow rates lead to significant vortices in the vaneless space and guide vane area, which become main contributors to energy loss in this region. These vortices, along with those in the runner passage, mainly arise from flow separation on blade and guide vane surfaces due to suboptimal inflow conditions. The study also identifies pressure fluctuations in the vaneless space, induced by a rotating stall, as the most significant pressure pulsation phenomenon, which significantly impacts the performance of the unit in both upstream and downstream directions. Bismuth vanadate (BVO) is regarded as an exceptional photoanode material for photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting, but it is restricted by the severe photocorrosion and slow water oxidation kinetics. Herein, a synergistic strategy combined with a Co3(HPO4)2(OH)2 (CoPH) cocatalyst and an Al2O3 (ALO) passivation layer was proposed for enhanced PEC performance. The CoPH/ALO/BVO photoanode exhibits an impressive photocurrent density of 4.9 mA cm−2 at 1.23 VRHE and an applied bias photon-to-current efficiency (ABPE) of 1.47% at 0.76 VRHE. This outstanding PEC performance can be ascribed to the suppressed surface charge recombination, facilitated interfacial charge transfer, and accelerated water oxidation kinetics with the introduction of the CoPH cocatalyst and ALO passivation layer. This work provides a novel and synergistic approach to design an efficient and stable photoanode for PEC applications by combining an oxygen evolution cocatalyst and a passivation layer. Aims. This study was designed to investigate the impact of inclusive leadership on challenge-oriented citizenship behaviors and examine the mediating role of organizational justice on the relationship between inclusive leadership and challenge-oriented citizenship behaviors among nurses. Background. Leaders exhibiting an inclusive leadership style have the potential to create a positive work climate and motivate members of the organization. However, the mechanisms by which organizational justice contributes to this process remain to be explored, particularly in terms of how it motivates challenge-oriented organizational citizenship behaviors. Method. A cross-sectional questionnaire survey was conducted among nurses in China at the end period of the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 527 registered nurses were enrolled and completed the self-report questionnaires including inclusive leadership scale, organizational justice scale, and challenge-oriented citizenship behavior scale. The hypotheses were tested using hierarchical multiple regression analyses and structural equation modelling. Results. The results of empirical tests revealed that nurse leader's inclusive leadership had a positive relationship on nurses' challenge-oriented organizational citizenship behaviors (β = 0.823, p < 0.001) after controlling several demographic covariates. Meanwhile, inclusive leadership was positively linked to organizational justice (β = 0.747, p < 0.001), and the indirect effect of inclusive leadership on nurses' challenge-oriented citizenship behaviors through organizational justice was statistically significant (β = 0.641, p < 0.001). Furthermore, the model fit indices were χ2/df = 1.952, RMSEA = 0.043, CFI = 0.979, and TLI = 0.977, indicating that the model had high quality. Conclusion. This study could help nurse leaders with inclusive leadership style have a better understanding and taking the advantages of the influence mechanism of organizational justice in inspiring nurses' challenge-oriented citizenship behaviors. While nurse managers can inspire challenge-oriented organizational citizenship behaviors through inclusive leadership, they should also emphasize the evaluative and behavioral-shaping effects of organizational justice. Both leadership and organizational justice are essential to motivate challenge-oriented organizational citizenship behaviors and to foster organizational development. Moreover, managers should focus on the process and conditions of implementing organizational justice to ensure fairness within the organization and to create a conducive environment for challenge-oriented organizational citizenship behaviors. This study examines the production of hydrogen without a co-catalyst, using a ZnWO 4 /Zn 1.95 Cd 8.05 S 10 -diethylenetriamine (ZW/ZCS, diethylenetriamine is referred to as DETA) photocatalyst that operates under visible light. The photocatalyst was synthesized using a hydrothermal method and characterized through various methods. Among ZW/ZCS nanocomposites, the 50-ZW/ZCS nanocomposite exhibited a remarkable hydrogen evolution rate of 4.46 mmol h−1 g−1. This significantly outperformed cadmium sulfide (CS, 1.96 mmol h−1 g−1), ZCS (2.78 mmol h−1 g−1), 50-ZW/CS (2.23 mmol h−1 g−1), and ZW (trace), thus highlighting the superior performance of the synthesized solid solution and nanocomposite. The S-scheme structure at the ZW/ZCS heterojunction served to separate photogenerated electron-hole pairs more effectively, leading to improved charge transfer efficiency and enhanced photocatalytic activity. Theoretical calculations and EPR results confirmed the presence of the S-scheme. Additionally, the ZW/ZCS photocatalyst demonstrated remarkable stability during hydrogen evolution. This research provides a novel methodology for the design and synthesis of efficient and stable photocatalysts that can facilitate hydrogen evolution under visible light, without the need for co-catalysts. Background: Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi has been extensively used as a medicinal herb in China for over 2000 years. They may be intentionally or inadvertently substituted or blended with comparable species in the local market, threatening clinical medication safety. Molecular markers are effective tools to prevent misidentification and eliminate doping and falsification among Scutellaria plants. This study screened four highly variable regions to identify Scutellaria and its adulterants. In addition, a phylogenetic analysis was performed using the complete cp genome combined with published Scutellaria species samples. Moreover, a comparative analysis of the cp genomes was conducted to investigate the cp genome evolution of S. baicalensis. Results: The complete cp genome of five species of Scutellaria was sequenced for the first time, and four previously published Scutellaria species were re-sequenced. They all exhibited a conserved quadripartite structure in their cp genomes, including two distinct regions, namely a small and large single copy region, respectively, and two inverted repeats encompassing the majority of ribosomal RNA genes. Furthermore, the nine species exhibited high conservation from aspects of the genome structure, codon usage, repeat sequences, and gene content. Four highly variable regions (matK-rps16, ndhC-trnV-UAC, psbE-petL, and rps16-trnQ-UUG) may function as potential molecular markers for differentiating S. baicalensis from its adulterants. Additionally, the monophyly of Scutellaria was ascertained and could be reclassified into two subgenera, subgenus Anaspis and subgenus Scutellaria, as evidenced by the phylogenetic analyses on sequences of cp genome and shared protein-coding sequences. According to the molecular clock analysis, it has been inferred that the divergence of Scutellaria occurred at approximately 4.0 Mya during the Pliocene Epoch. Hierarchically porous metal–organic frameworks (HP-MOFs) possess the advantages of the high porosity of MOFs and unique properties, such as a wide pore size range. Hierarchically porous ZIF-8 (HP-ZIF-8) was facilely fabricated via a one-step method in supercritical CO2 (scCO2) using a competitive ligand. The mesoporous structure and morphology of HP-ZIF-8 can be easily adjusted by changing the dosage of competing ligands and the reaction temperature. When the molar ratio of zinc acetylacetonate, 2-methylimidazole, and 2-butyl-1H-imidazole was 1 : 1 : 6, the HP-ZIF-8 with micropores (1.7 nm) and mesopores (3.9–30 nm) was synthesized at 50 °C and 30 MPa for 3 hours with excellent reproducibility. The as-synthesized ZIF-8 shows a high activity for CO2 adsorption, and the CO2 equilibrium adsorption capacity reached up to 1.49 mmol g−1 sorbent at 25 °C and 0.1 MPa. Moreover, the CO2 equilibrium adsorption capacity of HP-ZIF-8 was maintained at 1.36 mmol g−1 sorbent after 7 cycles. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The determination of the low-temperature plasma propagation of SF6/N2 in gas discharge will accelerate the application of SF6/N2 in advanced electrical equipment. This study investigates the positive streamer propagation characteristics of SF6/N2 by establishing a plasma discharge model and discusses the effects of SF6 ratio on the electron density, electric field, chemical reaction rates, ion concentrations, and streamer thickness and velocity. As the streamer propagates, the shapes of the electron density and electric field become "narrower and taller." Moreover, the ionization and attachment reaction rates increase, and the streamer thickness and velocity decrease with increasing SF6 mixing ratio and propagation time. As the SF6 ratio increases, the electric field distortion degree and particle mobility near the high-voltage electrode decrease due to the increase in the ionization and attachment rates. Consequently, the streamer velocity remains nearly unchanged, but the streamer thickness obviously decreases in the corona discharge process. In the streamer propagation process, the decrease in the streamer thickness and velocity with increasing SF6 ratio is attributed to the reduction in the electric field distortion and particle mobility, which stems from the increase in the DC breakdown voltage with the SF6 mixing ratio. Background Limited understanding exists regarding the influences of engagement, persistence and adherence on the efficacy of cognitive training for age-related cognitive decline and neurodegenerative cognitive impairment. Methods This study conducted a meta-analysis of randomised controlled trials (RCTs). We systematically searched MEDLINE, PubMed, Web of Science, Embase and CINAHL databases from 1 January 2012 to 13 June 2023, and included RCTs assessing the effects of cognitive training in older adults, both with and without cognitive impairment. Hedges' g with a 95% confidence interval (CI) was used to synthesise cognitive training effect sizes on various neuropsychological tests. Subgroup analyses were conducted based on variables including engagement, persistence, adherence and cognitive conditions of normal cognition, mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or neurodegenerative dementia. Results This meta-analysis included 55 RCTs with 4,455 participants with cognitive conditions spanning normal cognition, MCI and neurodegenerative dementia. The mean age of participants was 73.9 (range: 65.7–84.5) years. Overall, cognitive training showed a significant cross-domain effect (Hedges' g  = 0.286, 95% CI: 0.224–0.348). Training effects are significant when engagement or persistence rates exceed 60% or when adherence rates exceed 80%. Higher levels of persistence are required to achieve significant training effects in memory, visuospatial ability and reasoning than in executive function and attention and language. Higher persistence is also required for older adults with normal cognition to achieve significant training gains compared to those with cognitive impairment. There is evidence that anxiety is transmitted across generations. However, little is known about this issue in rural Chinese families and the factors that could buffer this transmission. Using cross-sectional data of 642 mother-child dyads in families with a migrating father and non-migrant families from Chinese rural areas, we examined the transmission of anxiety from mothers to adolescents and the protective roles of father-child attachment security and friend support in this association. Adolescents reported on their attachment security to fathers, friend support, and anxiety, and mothers self-reported on maternal anxiety. We used hierarchical regression analyses to evaluate the moderating roles of father-child attachment security and friend support in the intergenerational transmission of anxiety. The results provided evidence of the cross-generational transmission of anxiety in rural Chinese families and supported the hypothesis that the protective effects of father-child attachment security and friend support in the transmission of anxiety vary between the two types of families. Father-child attachment security buffered the transmission of anxiety from mothers to adolescents among non-migrant families, and friend support buffered this transmission among families with a migrating father. These findings broadened our understanding of the factors and processes that account for intergenerational continuity and discontinuity in anxiety in rural China.
