Image clustering, which involves grouping images into different clusters without labels, is a key task in unsupervised learning. Although previous deep clustering methods have achieved remarkable results, they only explore the intrinsic information of the image itself but overlook external supervision knowledge to improve the semantic understanding of images. Recently, visual-language pre-trained model on large-scale datasets have been used in various downstream tasks and have achieved great results. However, there is a gap between visual representation learning and textual semantic learning, and how to properly utilize the representation of two different modalities for clustering is still a big challenge. To tackle the challenges, we propose a novel image clustering framwork, named Dual-level Cross-Modal Contrastive Clustering (DXMC). Firstly, external textual information is introduced for constructing a semantic space which is adopted to generate image-text pairs. Secondly, the image-text pairs are respectively sent to pre-trained image and text encoder to obtain image and text embeddings which subsquently are fed into four well-designed networks. Thirdly, dual-level cross-modal contrastive learning is conducted between discriminative representations of different modalities and distinct level. Shannon entropy, as a chaos indicator, is used for online Poincar\'e map regularization and dynamic aperture optimization in the National Synchrotron Light Source-II (NSLS-II) ring. Although various chaos indicators are widely used in studying nonlinear dynamical systems, including modern particle accelerators, it is the first time to use a measurable one in a real-world machine for online nonlinear optimization. Poincar\'e maps, constructed with the turn-by-turn beam trajectory readings from beam position monitors, are commonly used to observe the nonlinearity in ring-based accelerators. However, such observations typically only provide a qualitative interpretation. We analyze their entropy to quantify the chaos in measured Poincar\'e maps. After some canonical transformations on the Poincar\'e maps, not only can the commonly used nonlinear characterizations be extracted, but more importantly, the chaos can be quantitatively calibrated with Shannon entropy, and then used as the online optimization objectives., Comment: 6 pages, 6 figures

This paper reports recent lattice characterization results obtained at the National Synchrotron Light Source II (NSLS-II) storage ring, conducted without reliance on a lattice model. A pair of beam position monitors (BPMs) with bunch-by-bunch (B$\times$B) resolution, were recently installed in a section of the storage ring free of magnetic fields. The new BPM pair measured the beam, or bunch's transverse Poincar\'e map precisely after the beam was excited. Linear one-turn-matrices (OTM) were then derived, and from these, the 4-dimensional coupled Twiss parameters were extracted at the locations of the BPM pair. By normalizing beam oscillation amplitudes with the Twiss parameters, the global action-variables were obtained. These action-variables facilitated the measurement of the local Twiss parameters observed by other BPMs independent on lattice model. This method is general, and particularly useful in certain scenarios such as a round beam mode in a diffraction-limited light source ring. We applied it to assess both weakly and strongly coupled lattices at the NSLS-II ring. Through analysis of the strongly coupled lattice, the quadrupole tilt errors were estimated to be less than 400 \si{\mu}rad. Fall detection based on embedded sensor is a practical and popular research direction in recent years. In terms of a specific application: fall detection methods based upon physics sensors such as [gyroscope and accelerator] have been exploited using traditional hand crafted features and feed them in machine learning models like Markov chain or just threshold based classification methods. In this paper, we build a complete system named TSFallDetect including data receiving device based on embedded sensor, mobile deep-learning model deploying platform, and a simple server, which will be used to gather models and data for future expansion. On the other hand, we exploit the sequential deep-learning methods to address this falling motion prediction problem based on data collected by inertial and film pressure sensors. We make a empirical study based on existing datasets and our datasets collected from our system separately, which shows that the deep-learning model has more potential advantage than other traditional methods, and we proposed a new deep-learning model based on the time series data to predict the fall, and it may be superior to other sequential models in this particular field.

Over the past years, a large number of fake news detection algorithms based on deep learning have emerged. However, they are often developed under different frameworks, each mandating distinct utilization methodologies, consequently hindering reproducibility. Additionally, a substantial amount of redundancy characterizes the code development of such fake news detection models. To address these concerns, we propose FaKnow, a unified and comprehensive fake news detection algorithm library. It encompasses a variety of widely used fake news detection models, categorized as content-based and social context-based approaches. This library covers the full spectrum of the model training and evaluation process, effectively organizing the data, models, and training procedures within a unified framework. Furthermore, it furnishes a series of auxiliary functionalities and tools, including visualization, and logging. Our work contributes to the standardization and unification of fake news detection research, concurrently facilitating the endeavors of researchers in this field. Large Language Model (LLM) based generative AI, such as ChatGPT, is considered the first generation of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), exhibiting zero-shot learning abilities for a wide variety of downstream tasks. Due to its general-purpose and emergent nature, its impact on labor dynamics becomes complex and difficult to anticipate. Leveraging an extensive dataset from a prominent online labor market, we uncover a post-ChatGPT decline in labor demand, supply, and transactions for submarkets pertaining to text-related and programming-related jobs, in comparison to those not directly exposed to ChatGPT's core functionalities. Meanwhile, these affected submarkets exhibit a discernible increase in the complexity of the remaining jobs and a heightened level of competition among freelancers. Intriguingly, our findings indicate that the diminution in the labor supply pertaining to programming is comparatively less pronounced, a phenomenon ascribed to the transition of freelancers previously engaged in text-related tasks now bidding for programming-related opportunities. Although the per-period job diversity freelancers apply for tends to be more limited, those who successfully navigate skill transitions from text to programming demonstrate greater resilience to ChatGPT's overall market contraction impact. In this paper, we apply approximate entropy (ApEn) analysis to the nonlinear beam dynamics in circular accelerators. Due to the presence of strong nonlinear magnets, chaos of beam motion gradually increases with amplitude. Such chaos can be quantitatively characterized with ApEn of beam turn-by-turn readings. In this paper we present an expansion of the technique of characterizing nonlinear optics from off-energy orbits (NOECO) to cover harmonic sextupoles in storage rings. The existing NOECO technique has been successfully used to correct the chromatic sextupole errors on the MAX-IV machine, however, it doesn't account for harmonic sextupoles, which are widely used on many other machines. Through generating vertical dispersion with chromatic skew quadrupoles, a measurable dependency of nonlinear optics on harmonic sextupoles can be observed from hybrid horizontal and vertical dispersive orbits.
