5. A baseline correction algorithm for FAST

Abstract

The Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST) is the most sensitive ground-based, single-dish radio telescope on Earth. However, the original HI spectra produced by FAST are affected by standing waves. To maximize the power of FAST for high-sensitivity observations, we proposed an algorithm that combines fast Fourier transforms and extreme envelope curves to automatically correct the baselines of FAST HI spectra and remove standing waves from the baselines. This algorithm can reduce the amplified noise level caused by standing waves to a near-ideal level without losing signals or introducing false signals. The root mean square of the average baseline reaches $\sim$ 8 mK, approaching the theoretical sensitivity of an HI spectrum produced by FAST for an integration time of 335 minutes, i.e., $\sim$ 6 mK., Comment: 8 pages,6 figures, Accepted for publication in RAA

Abstract

Using the Purple Mountain Observatory 13.7-m millimeter telescope at Delingha in China, we have conducted a large-scale simultaneous survey of $^{12}$CO, $^{13}$CO, and \xxco ($J$ = 1--0) toward the CMa OB1 complex with a sky coverage of 16.5 deg$^{\rm 2}$ ($221^{\circ}.5\leq l\leq227^{\circ}$, $-2^{\circ}.5\leq b\leq0^{\circ}.5$). Emission from the CMa OB1 complex is found in the range 7 km s$^{-1}\ \leq$ V$_\mathrm{LSR}\ \leq$ 25 km s$^{-1}$. The large-scale structure, physical properties and chemical abundances of the molecular clouds are presented. A total of 83 C$^{18}$O molecular clumps are identified with GaussClumps algorithm within the mapped region. We find that 94% of these C$^{18}$O molecular clumps are gravitationally bound. The relationship between their size and mass indicates that none of the C$^{18}$O clump has the potential to form high-mass stars. Using semi-automatic IDL algorithm, we newly discover 85 CO outflow candidates in the mapped area, including 23 bipolar outflows candidates. 8. High-sensitivity millimeter imaging of molecular outflows in nine nearby high-mass star-forming regions

Abstract

We present a study of molecular outflows using six molecular lines (including 12CO/13CO/C18O/HCO+(J = 1-0) and SiO/CS(J = 2-1)) toward nine nearby high-mass star-forming regions with accurate known distances. This work is based on the high-sensitivity observations obtained with the 14-m millimeter telescope of Purple Mountain Observatory Delingha (PMODLH) observatory. The detection rate of outflows (including 12CO, 13CO, HCO+, and CS) is 100\%. However, the emission of SiO was not detected for all sources. The full line widths ($\Delta V$) at 3$\sigma$ above the baseline of these molecular lines have the relationship $\Delta V_{\rm ^{12}CO} > \Delta V_{\rm HCO^{+}} > \Delta V_{\rm CS} \approx \Delta V_{\rm ^{13}CO} > \Delta V_{\rm ^{18}CO}$. 12CO and HCO+ can be used to trace relatively high-velocity outflows, while 13CO and CS can be employed to trace relatively low-velocity outflows. The dynamical timescales of the 13CO and CS outflows are longer than those of the 12CO and HCO+ outflows. 20. Progress of exosomes in diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer

Abstract

Prostate cancer(PCa) is a common malignancy in males. Exosomes are lipid bilayer vesicles containing protein, mRNA and miRNA, which are active in intercellular communications. Exosomes promotes the development of prostate cancer, support immune evading and chemotherapy resistance, stimulate angiogenesis, induce epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT) of tumor cells, and contribute to the formation of pre-metastasis niche, thus promoting the invasion and metastasis of prostate cancer. Based on the role in tumor biological behavior and heterogeneity in different cells, exosomes hold great potentials as biomarker for diagnosis and prognosis of prostate cancer, and are expected to become a favorable drug carrier. It has a promising prospect for cancer therapy.

26. Correlations among parameters of pentacam, iTrace, and LOCS III in assessing lens opacity.

Abstract

Objectives: To investigate the diagnostic value of iTrace visual function analyzer, Pentacam 3D anterior segment analysis system and Lens Opacities Classification System III (LOCS III) in assessing lens opacity in patients with age-related cataract (ARC). Methods: A total of 129 patients with ARC admitted to Anonymized from May 2019 to April 2021 were selected as the research objects. The degree of lens opacity was evaluated by LOCS III classification, iTrace and anterior segment analysis. Results: The Pentacam nucleus staging (PNS) grade was strongly correlated with nuclear color (NC) (r = 0.537, p < 0.05) and moderately correlated with nuclear opalescence (NO) (r = 0.473, p < 0.05). The integrated density (IntDen) in 3-mm nuclear region was strongly correlated with NC (r = 0.548, p < 0.05) and NO (r = 0.539, p < 0.05). The dysfunctional lens index (DLI) in 3-mm area was negatively correlated with NC (r=-0.252, p < 0.05), NO (r=-0.239, p < 0.05) and posterior subcapsular cataract (r=-0.271, p < 0.05). PNS was weakly negatively correlated with the DLI in 3-mm area (r=-0.219, p < 0.05), and IntDen in 3-mm core area was weakly negatively correlated with the DLI in 3-mm area (r=-0.291, p < 0.05). Conclusion: A combination of iTrace, anterior segment analysis and LOCS III may be beneficial in objectively assessing the opacity of different regions of the lens. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Participants chose to enter one of two active treatment groups according to their treatment intention—either a 9-week Li-ESWT regimen or 100 mg on-demand sildenafil. The erectile function was evaluated using the erectile function domain of the International Index of Erectile Function questionnaires (IIEF-EF), while the treatment satisfaction was evaluated using the Erectile Dysfunction Inventory of Treatment Satisfaction questionnaires (EDITS).Results: We enrolled 72 participants in the study (42 in the Li-ESWT group and 30 in the sildenafil group). Patients in both groups were young men. Four weeks after the last session, the IIEF-EF score for Li-ESWT and sildenafil was 16.3± 5.5 and 18.3± 6.5 (P > 0.05), respectively. Abstract

Volcanic ash is an important parent material for soil and is easily weathered. Pb, Cr and Cu are the main heavy metals in weathered volcanic ash and are inevitably discharged into the environment and finally harmful to human health. A simple and reliable method for the determination of Pb, Cr and Cu in volcanic ash by microwave digestion combined with Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (GFAAS) has been proposed. The ashing temperatures are 600℃ for Pb, 1000℃ for Cr and 800℃ for Cu. The atomization temperatures are 1800℃ for Pb and Cu, and 2200℃ for Cr. The detection limits of the proposed method are 3.50, 0.92 and 1.22 ng/mL for Pb, Cr and Cu, respectively. The relative standard deviations (RSDs) for eleven replicate analyses (50 ng/mL) of the above three metals are less than 4%, and the recoveries by standard addition are 92.8%-107.0%. The proposed method is rapid and convenient with high accuracy and low cost.
