The Al-Aqsa Mosque in the Old City of Jerusalem was originally an Islamic building. Later in the 20th century, as the Palestinian-Israeli conflict intensified, the religious function of the Al-Aqsa Mosque gradually gave way to a political one, becoming a political symbol of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, which the Palestinians saw as a symbol of statehood and Israel administered as part of its national territory. The transformation of the Al-Aqsa Mosque from a religious to a political function is not only an expression of its transformation from a religious building to a political symbol, but also a manifestation of the tension between religious culture and the presence of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in the city of Jerusalem as an important reason for its transformation into a political symbol.

This study improves the Quality of Experience (QoE) of the multi-queue multi-server queueing system by solving the scheduling problem. The QoE is evaluated by a novel indicator named system user-perceived throughput (SUPT). According to the property of the traffic, the stochastic optimization problem for SUPT can be transformed into utility maximization under the constraint of queue stability. We then propose a drift-plus-penalty scheduling algorithm named max modified weight (MMW) to balance delay and utility. A Nike function for queue length replaces the queue length as the weight. Furthermore, we prove the stability of the queues based on the Foster–Lyapunov theorem and analyze the delay boundary under the proposed MMW scheduling algorithm. Finally, compared with several classical scheduling policies, the effectiveness of the MMW is verified by evaluating the average system throughput, SUPT, the average system backlog, and user-perceived throughput of the queues in three different scenarios. The simulation results show MMW policy achieves more efficient trade-off between SUPT and system delay, and is capable of maintaining system stability as max weight regardless of the system load.

TiO2 nanorods uniformly distributed on reduced graphene oxide (rGO) were successfully synthesized via a facile sol-static self-assembled method followed by an alkali-heat treatment. The flexible rGO nanosheets can not only serve as the electric matrix to increase the conductivity of composite, but also offer large active area between the electrode material and electrolyte to facilitate electrolyte permeability and shortened distance for lithium ion diffusion and electron transfer. Detailed analysis on electrochemical kinetics manifests that the increased diffusion coefficiency and capacitive behaviors during the charging/discharging processes lead to fast insertion/extraction of lithium ions in the obtained TiO2 nanorods/rGO composite (TNGC). Consequently, the as-obtained TNGC exhibited a good electrochemical performance with a high cyclic stability (353.6 mA h g−1 after 100 cycles at a current density of 0.1 A g−1) and outstanding rate capacity (205.1 mA h g−1 at a current density of 2 A g−1) as lithium ion batteries anode material.

The range migration algorithm (RMA) is an accurate imaging method for processing synthetic aperture radar (SAR) signals. However, this algorithm requires a big amount of computation when performing Stolt mapping. In high squint and wide beamwidth imaging, this operation also requires big memory size to store the result spectrum after Stolt mapping because the spectrum will be significantly expanded. A modified Stolt mapping that does not expand the signal spectrum while still maintains the processing accuracy is proposed in this paper to improve the efficiency of the RMA when processing frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) SAR signals. The modified RMA has roughly the same computational load and required memory size as the range Doppler algorithm (RDA) when processing FMCW SAR data. In extreme cases when the original spectrum is significantly modified by the Stolt mapping, the modified RMA achieves better focusing quality than the traditional RMA. Simulation and real data are used to verify the performance of the proposed RMA.

A novel ion-exchange polymer-metal composite (IPMC) actuator is fabricated by sandwiching sulfonated fluorene blocked polysulfone (SDPF- b -PSU) between two Pt nanograin sheets. With increased concentration of chlorosulfonic acid, the SDPF- b -PSU film with more sulfonic groups exhibits strong ion exchange capacity, high Li + ion conductivity, and ordered phase separation, which may contain an increased number of cations and possess larger and better interconnected inner channels for ion migration, thus providing the power to produce large force and power outputs. The SDPF- b -PSU film also exhibits enhanced mechanical performance and water uptake when compared to the pure Nafion film, providing a strong, hydrated matrix to support IPMC functions. At the driving voltage of 4 V, the SDPF- b -PSU actuator exhibits a strong force output which is 11 folds higher than that of the pure Nafion actuator.

Audio Video coding Standard + (AVS+) has made a high progress in coding efficiency, but the algorithm complexity also increased. Parallel coding techniques are efficient solutions to cope with high-complexity coding. A novel parallel video coding framework was proposed to break the traditional video coding back loop and realize efficient parallelism. The framework was applied to AVS+ real time video encoder. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed framework makes full use of the computing ability of multi-core processor, and improves the code rate greatly, especially in the case of high resolution video.

Due to its radial velocity, the range walk (linear term of range migration) of a moving target in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image is usually bigger than that of the stationary target. Hence in the time domain after range cell migration correction, the trajectory of most moving target is usually characterized by an approximate sloping line, while the trajectory of stationary targets is lines parallel to the azimuth direction (flight path). Exploiting this difference, we propose a novel ground moving target indication method to detect the moving target in time domain, which is different from the conventional methods. The proposed method has the advantage of detecting the slow moving target and can be used in low pulse repetition frequency SAR. Moreover, an autofocus technique is proposed to improve the focusing effect and the parameter estimation accuracy of the moving target. Raw SAR data is used to demonstrate the performance of the proposed method.
