Two coordination polymers, namely {[Cd3(TIYM)2(5-SASS)2(H2O)2]·H2O}n (1) and {[Zn2(TIYM)(5-SASS)(μ2-OH)]·5H2O}n (2), were assembled using a mixed ligand strategy with the semi-rigid linker tetrakis(imidazol-1-ylmethyl)methane (TIYM) and 5-sulfoisophthalic acid sodium salt (5-SASS). Luminescence studies reveal that compounds 1 and 2 show strong fluorescence and exhibit efficient luminescence quenching in detecting UO22+ cations, Cr2O72−/CrO42− anions, and the NFT antibiotic in aqueous media, and can thus serve as promising sensors. The detection limits of compounds 1–2 are 1.96 × 10−4/1.36 × 10−4 M for UO22+ cations, 6.53 × 10−5/5.41 × 10−5 M for Cr2O72− anions, 2.29 × 10−4/1.04 × 10−4 M for CrO42− anions, and 5.62 × 10−5/4.74 × 10−5 M for the NFT antibiotic, respectively, indicating that the two CPs are promising multi-functional luminescent sensors. Planar molecules 3,7-diaryl-1,5,2,4,6,8-dithiotetrazocines would be potential acceptor materials of organic solar cell because of their containing SN units. One-pot synthetic procedures of 3,7-diaryl-1,5,2,4,6,8-dithiotetrazocine compounds are developed to improve their yields up to 2.1-5.9 times as much as those in literatures. The geometries of title compounds were optimized by the density functional theory calculations. Their optoelectronic properties were studied by ultraviolet and cyclic voltammetry spectra and fluorescence quenching experiments. The highest occupied and lowest unoccupied molecular orbital energy level values show that these compounds are suitable to be employed as acceptor materials for developing bulk heterojunction organic with high open circuit voltages. Emission fluorescence of poly(3-hexylthiophene) at excited state in dichloromethane was quenched by addition of title compound. Objective To evaluate the efficacy and adverse reactions of chemoradiotherapy with S-1 for elder patients with local advanced esophageal cancer. Methods Total of 66 elder patients with local advanced esophageal cancer were randomized into two groups. 32 cases as control group, received 3D conformal radiation therapy with DT: 54Gy/30f only. 34 cases as therapy group, S-1 was administered two cycles, 60-80 mg/(m2.d) on days 1-14, every 21 days as a cycle, combined with 3D conformal radiation therapy with same dose. Results The response rate of control group and therapy group was 59.4% and 82.4% (x² = 4.246, P = 0.039), respectively. The median time to progression was months 4.0 (95%CI: 2.91-5.10) and 6.0 months (95%CI: 4.58-7.42; P = 0.04). The median survival time was 8.0 months (95% CI: 6.01-10.00 in the control group and 11.0 months (95% CI: 9.45-12.52; P = 0.039). There were significant differences between the two groups. The incidence rate of myelosuppression was higher in therapy group, but was easy to handle. Conclusion S-1 combined with 3D conformal radiation therapy showed reliable efficacy and the toxicity was tolerable. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Plant 3D reconstruction and its visualization system based on plant physiological and ecological characteristics and morphological characteristics have vital significance for research on plant growing process and representation of natural landscape. This paper reviewed the research progress made in plant 3D modeling method and visualization system from 3 aspects: plant 3D modeling method, 3D modeling based on image and scanning data sets. This paper introduced the research results achieved on geometrical model and several plant visualization system softwares. It summarized plant 3D modeling methods and advantages and disadvantages existing in its visualization system. The paper specialty suggested that studies on coupling of physiological/ecological model with visualization of morphological model were to be perfected.
