We study several notions of null sets on infinite-dimensional Carnot groups. We prove that a set is Aronszajn null if and only if it is null with respect to measures that are convolutions of absolutely continuous (CAC) measures on Carnot subgroups. The CAC measures are the non-abelian analogue of cube measures. In the case of infinite-dimensional Heisenberg-like groups we also show that being null in the previous senses is equivalent to being null for all heat kernel measures. Additionally, we show that infinite-dimensional Carnot groups that have locally compact commutator subgroups have the structure of Banach manifolds. We prove that in the first Heisenberg group, unlike Euclidean spaces and higher dimensional Heisenberg groups, the best possible exponent for the strong geometric lemma for intrinsic Lipschitz graphs is $4$ instead of $2$. Combined with earlier work from arXiv:2004.11447 and arXiv:2207.03013, our result completes the proof of the strong geometric lemma in Heisenberg groups. While numerous numerical relativity simulations adopt a 1+log slicing condition, shock-avoiding slicing conditions form a viable and sometimes advantageous alternative. Despite both conditions satisfying similar equations, recent numerical experiments point to a qualitative difference in the behavior of the lapse in the vicinity of the black-hole puncture: for 1+log slicing, the lapse appears to decay approximately exponentially, while for shock-avoiding slices it performs approximately harmonic oscillation. Motivated by this observation, we consider dynamical coordinate transformations of the Schwarzschild spacetime to describe small perturbations of static trumpet geometries analytically. We find that the character of the resulting equations depends on the (unperturbed) mean curvature at the black-hole puncture: for 1+log slicing it is positive, predicting exponential decay in the lapse, while for shock-avoiding slices it vanishes, leading to harmonic oscillation. In addition to identifying the value of the mean curvature as the origin of these qualitative differences, our analysis provides insight into the dynamical behavior of black-hole punctures for different slicing conditions., Comment: 8 pages, 2 figures; matches version published in PRD

Let $\mathsf{r}_k$ be the unique positive root of $x^k - (x+1)^{k-1} = 0$. We prove the best known bounds on the number $n_{g,d}$ of $d$-dimensional generalized numerical semigroups, in particular that \[n_{g,d} > C_d^{g^{(d-1)/d}} \mathsf{r}_{2^d}^g\] for some constant $C_d > 0$, which can be made explicit. To do this, we extend the notion of multiplicity and depth to generalized numerical semigroups and show our lower bound is sharp for semigroups of depth 2. In 1990, Backelin showed that the number of numerical semigroups with Frobenius number $f$ approaches $C_i \cdot 2^{f/2}$ for constants $C_0$ and $C_1$ depending on the parity of $f$. In this paper, we generalize this result to semigroups of arbitrary depth by showing there are $\lfloor{(q+1)^2/4}\rfloor^{f/(2q-2)+o(f)}$ semigroups with Frobenius number $f$ and depth $q$. More generally, for fixed $q \geq 3$, we show that, given $(q-1)m < f < qm$, the number of numerical semigroups with Frobenius number $f$ and multiplicity $m$ is\[\left(\left\lfloor \frac{(q+2)^2}{4} \right\rfloor^{\alpha/2} \left \lfloor \frac{(q+1)^2}{4} \right\rfloor^{(1-\alpha)/2}\right)^{m + o(m)}\] where $\alpha = f/m - (q-1)$. Motivated by recent numerical relativity simulations of charged black holes and their interactions, we explore the properties of common slicing conditions in Reissner-Nordstr\"om spacetimes. Specifically, we consider different choices for the so-called Bona-Mass\'o function, and construct static and spherically symmetric slices of the Reissner-Nordstr\"om spacetime satisfying the corresponding slicing conditions. For some of these functions the construction is entirely analytical, while for others we use numerical root-finding to solve quartic equations. Our solutions are parameterized by the charge-to-mass ratio $\lambda = Q/M$ and approach a unique slice, independent of the Bona-Mass\'o functions considered here, in the extremal limit $\lambda \to 1$., Comment: 9 pages, 10 figures

We prove that the Heisenberg Riesz transform is $L_2$--unbounded on a family of intrinsic Lipschitz graphs in the first Heisenberg group $\mathbb{H}$. We construct this family by combining a method from \cite{NY2} with a stopping time argument, and we establish the $L_2$--unboundedness of the Riesz transform by introducing several new techniques to analyze singular integrals on intrinsic Lipschitz graphs. These include a formula for the Riesz transform in terms of a singular integral on a vertical plane and bounds on the flow of singular integrals that arises from a perturbation of a graph. On the way, we use our construction to show that the strong geometric lemma fails in $\mathbb{H}$ for all exponents in $[2,4)$. Our results are in stark contrast to two fundamental results in Euclidean harmonic analysis and geometric measure theory: Lipschitz graphs in $\mathbb{R}^n$ satisfy the strong geometric lemma, and the $m$--Riesz transform is $L_2$--bounded on $m$--dimensional Lipschitz graphs in $\mathbb{R}^n$ for $m\in (0,n)$.

We continue to develop a program in geometric measure theory that seeks to identify how measures in a space interact with canonical families of sets in the space. In particular, extending a theorem of the first author and R. Schul in Euclidean space, for an arbitrary locally finite Borel measure in an arbitrary Carnot group, we develop tests that identify the part of the measure that is carried by rectifiable curves and the part of the measure that is singular to rectifiable curves. Our main result is entwined with an extension of the Analyst's Traveling Salesman Theorem, which characterizes subsets of rectifiable curves in $\mathbb{R}^2$ (P. Jones, 1990), in $\mathbb{R}^n$ (K. Okikolu, 1992), or in an arbitrary Carnot group (the second author) in terms of local geometric least squares data called Jones' $\beta$-numbers. In recent work, Griffin, Ono, and Tsai constructs an $L-$series to prove that the proportion of short Weierstrass elliptic curves over $\mathbb{Q}$ with trivial Tamagawa product is $0.5054\dots$ and that the average Tamagawa product is $1.8183\dots$. Following their work, we generalize their $L-$series over arbitrary number fields $K$ to be \[L_{\mathrm{Tam}}(K; s):=\sum_{m=1}^{\infty}\frac{P_{\mathrm{Tam}}(K; m)}{m^s},\] where $P_{\mathrm{Tam}}(K;m)$ is the proportion of short Weierstrass elliptic curves over $K$ with Tamagawa product $m$. We then construct Markov chains to compute the exact values of $P_{\mathrm{Tam}}(K;m)$ for all number fields $K$ and positive integers $m$. As a corollary, we also compute the average Tamagawa product $L_{\mathrm{Tam}}(K;-1)$. We then use these results to uniformly bound $P_{\mathrm{Tam}}(K;1)$ and $L_{\mathrm{Tam}}(K,-1)$ in terms of the degree of $K$. Finally, we show that there exist sequences of $K$ for which $P_{\mathrm{Tam}}(K;1)$ tends to $0$ and $L_{\mathrm{Tam}}(K;-1)$ to $\infty$, as well as sequences of $K$ for which $P_{\mathrm{Tam}}(K;1)$ and $L_{\mathrm{Tam}}(K;-1)$ tend to $1$., Comment: 40 pages, 9 figures, 17 tables

Graph neural networks (GNNs) have been extensively studied for prediction tasks on graphs. As pointed out by recent studies, most GNNs assume local homophily, i.e., strong similarities in local neighborhoods. This assumption however limits the generalizability power of GNNs. To address this limitation, we propose a flexible GNN model, which is capable of handling any graphs without being restricted by their underlying homophily. At its core, this model adopts a node attention mechanism based on multiple learnable spectral filters; therefore, the aggregation scheme is learned adaptively for each graph in the spectral domain. We evaluated the proposed model on node classification tasks over eight benchmark datasets. The proposed model is shown to generalize well to both homophilic and heterophilic graphs. We show that the $\beta$--numbers of intrinsic Lipschitz graphs of Heisenberg groups $\mathbb{H}_n$ are locally Carleson integrable when $n \geq 2$. Our technique relies on a recent Dorronsoro inequality \cite{FO} as well as a novel slicing argument. A key ingredient in our proof is a Euclidean inequality bounding the $\beta$--number of a function on a cube of $\mathbb{R}^n$ using the $\beta$--number of the restriction of the function to codimension--1 slices of the cube.

Let $\mathbb{G}$ be any Carnot group. We prove that if a convolution type singular integral associated with a $1$-dimensional Calder\'on-Zygmund kernel is $L^2$-bounded on horizontal lines, with uniform bounds, then it is bounded in $L^p, p \in (1,\infty),$ on any compact $C^{1,\alpha}, \alpha \in (0,1],$ regular curve in $\mathbb{G}$.
